Hadn't been to Applebee's in years and stopped by only because it was open late. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised with everything about this place! The young lady serving us was super nice, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was delicious! My lady friend had a cocktail and they gave us the happy hour price on it! The bill for the two of us was only around $40 total, can't beat that with a stick! They actually allowed us to stay at least a half hour after they were closed allowing us to chit chat while they were cleaning up! Will definitely return! Did I say the waitress was awesome? 😄👍🏼

Had a wonderful fast dinner with my mom, aunt and my son who was celebrating receiving the State of California Exceptional Graduate Award and Scholarship which he was presented in Riverside at the convention center. Apple Bees staff was quick to seat us and took mine and my sons order right away as we had to leave in a short hurry. food was fast,Hot and PERFECT to order! Server understood the assignment. Haha. I've only ever gotten drinks/slushes from this restaurant (for takeout) but every time I come in to pick up my order the servers have all been soooo nice, courteous, helpful & friendly! So I definitely like to give them my business anytime I come up to visit my friend in Riverside every other weekend. The fruity lemonades are super refreshing & those slush things are REALLY good. And well priced! Will be back very soon!

Great dining experience we had celebrating my friends new promotion. I was very surprised by the excellent service received by Shae. He was so polite and so attentive. The Rubidoux High School Football team had their 2nd annual all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast here yesterday Saturday May 27. Can't believe i forgot his name, but we had one waiter help us out sooo much i really hope he was paid overtime because he really did work his butt off to help us. He was bringing us the trays of food, so we could serve the plates and the football players take them to the tables. Also, thanks to the manager Frankie and the cook or cooks who we didn't get to meet, but were cooking non-stop for over 2 hours, when i say non-stop i mean the waiter would bring us out 1 or 2 full trays of food and when he did we would need 2 more..that's how it went for a while. So, thank you all at Applebee's so much!! Hope to see you next year!

My wife, daughter and I were tired from a long Monday and wanted to eat somewhere and relax. This place was perfect for that, all the employees here were super helpful and friendly. They weren’t even our main server and every employee walked by to see if we needed anything else. But even then, our main server, Geronimo, he was the best. He helped us out greatly, was always asking us what we wanted to eat next since we got the all you can eat special. This visit really turned a not so good Monday into a special day and just ended the night perfectly. We will for sure be back soon.

I had such a great experience at Applebee’s (Downtown Riverside)! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. Our server, Viviana, was absolutely amazing! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. She checked in at the perfect times, kept our drinks refilled, and made us feel genuinely cared for. You can tell she takes pride in her work and truly enjoys providing great service. The food came out fresh and hot, and everything tasted delicious. But what really made the night stand out was the exceptional service from Viviana. Every time I come here I’m always shown to a table right away if my friends decided on Applebees for the nights dinner we always enjoy the specials and especially the drink specials they always have something new and at a good price. Our service was quick and food was hot the place always feels clean. I always stick to this Applebees location cause I know I’ll have good service here.

This Applebee’s location is overall a solid spot if you’re looking for a dependable meal. The food quality is consistently good, and everything comes out fresh and flavorful. The service can run a little slow at times, but that’s usually understandable because it does get busy during peak hours. Even with that, the staff is friendly and they do their best to keep things moving. If you’re looking for a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good meal with family, this location is definitely worth giving a chance.

Stopped by Applebees in Riverside in the downtown area for lunch. I started with a Passion Fruit Mai Tai, which uniquely came with refills in a shaker - quite a treat with several refills. For my meal, I inquired about the server's preference between the Four Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders and the Whiskey Bacon Burger. Following her recommendation, I chose the Mac & Cheese option. It was decent, indeed sweet as she mentioned, which suited my taste. I value getting insights from servers as they have a pulse on customer feedback. The service was attentive, and paying through the kiosk on the table made for an easy checkout.

I went there with two friends. The servers were quick and friendly. The waitress calmly explained one of the food deals and it worked. She fetched mayo and sour cream when my friend wanted them for her broccoli. 😝 We took a long time ordering and eating, and the waitress seemed fine with it. Went for appetizers during the evening hours of the happy hour specials they offer. They have changed the seating for this time slot. Now you are asked when arriving if you are there for happy hour. If you say yes, there is specific seating. Because we were there to take advantage of the happy hour prices, we were not allowed to sit in the back of the restaurant, but rather the bar area and the seating adjacent to it. This added a longer wait time. This new procedure didn't make sense to me, but I'm sure it is for good reason. It just seems like to me, the equal dispersment of workload would be off, and that of the chance if receiving tips. As most live off the tips they receive. In addition, I witnessed 3 women leaving the establishment with alcohol. One hostess was going to go get it from them, and another hostess stopped her, saying they don't get paid enough, and whatever happens when they leave there is on them. I don't think she thought that through.

Service was excellent, although the chicken I had was pretty dry. I ordered the four cheese mac and cheese pasta. The pasta itself was nice, the sauce was a bit on the spicy side. The breadstick that came with it was nice and fluffy biting into. (It also came with bacon strips but my body is intolerant to bacon so I asked them to leave it out.)

Started with a perfect margarita. Mary Rose brought out a shaker cup and a martini glass. I was able to refill my glass 6 times. Very tasty drinks! We had the chicken quesadilla. It was good. Mary Rose brought us extra salsa and offered extra sour cream. My date had the top sirloin steak and I had the bourbon street steak. Both were tough, almost to tough to eat. Mary Rose offered to get the manager. We declined. My bourbon street still tasted good just had to cut it in small pieces. Our mashed potatoes were a little bit on the runny side. My date says her broccoli was crunchy. Not the best food. But definitely excellent service. Mary Rose was an excellent waitress. Very attentive and always offering extras.

Thursday night 6:00 pm group of (4) 10 minute wait. Ordered 8oz Bourbon Street Steak with onion rings. Cooked medium well. Steak was well they prepared the onion rings perfectly. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the service. This my second time there. 👍🏼👍🏼 Went there on Saturday in the mid-day. Ordered the combo appetizer & Tipsy Leprechaun. Ordered the 6oz steak medium well with salad and green beans onion rings. The service was quick. The food well prepared and great taste. Somewhat disappointed during this visit. Started off nice, appetizers came rather quick. As soon as we ordered drinks is when things slowed down. It took a long time for our drinks to come out and about 35 min after we ordered we received a disappointing meal. Half of our meals were over cooked or watered down. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, and I definitely got the runt of the little breaded chicken breasts. I was of course expecting a semi-cheap, preservative filled, chicken breast but this thing had very little meat. The taste was fine, but content was bad. The 15.99 all you can eat shrimp, riblets and boneless wings is a scam. The shrimp were counted, the riblet order just got one little piece and 4 boneless wings given. My husband joined (he was DD) and was rudely told that he was not able to sit or stand next to us unless he was drinking . This is the second time dining here in the last two weeks. The first time I had to have my sandwich sent back due to being too cold. Came back hot but the bacon was super chewy after. Second time coming which is where these photos came from it started with a Sierra Mist that was flat. Then the hot wings were dry and didn't have sauce all over it. All food was cold i forced the sandwich down. Ate a 1/4 of the fries and couldn't eat more then a wing. My girlfriends pasta was cold and you could see the sauce hardening in the pictures. I had them remake hers being the gentleman I am, it came back with chicken bits when she originally ordered no chicken. Lastly the alcoholic beverage she purchased was wrong as well. They fixed that and sadly the bar drinks were the only positive experience. The manager did remedy the experience by not charging for the food and the waitress was nice. However, the experience led me to write this. The bill was paid but the night was still ruined.

Hello I want to let people know that this Apples Bees off University by downtown Riverside is charging customers more gratuity on the tablet than the receipt. There’s a $4.50 difference, everyone needs to pay attention so they don’t get scammed more than your giving for tips. I’d always check the right amount on your phone before paying for the tip.

I figured that a chain like Applebee's would provide reliable comfort food for my family on a short trip. I was wrong. The food literally ruined our trip. The kids are picky, so we couldn't try some of the more exotic and unique culinary experiences in the area. I thought Applebee's would be a good, reliable dinner out, and the kids would be satisfied, but here's how bad it was. 1. Cheeseburgers: How do you mess up a cheeseburger? They were overcooked and dry. 2. Grilled Chicken: This tasted like when leftovers go too long in the fridge and you try to cut through them while they are cold. I sawed through the thin, dry, gritty filet and choked it down with the help of some spinach artichoke dip to attempt to add flavor and moisture. The smashed potatoes were dry and flavorless. Even the broccoli was dried out and unpleasant. 3. Chicken penne pasta: The person who ordered this ate the pasta but left all of the chicken. I wish there were meatless options for this and the chicken mac and cheese to avoid food waste. The pasta was reported to be "okay." 4. Spinach Artichoke Dip - Warm and fresh with melted cheese and warm tortilla chips. 5. Mozzarella Sticks: Crispy outside, melty inside. Service was okay - we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. The food took some time to receive - enough to play three rounds of a table game. The refills came but not speedily. I detected either attitude or stress from our servers, but they tried. After we went back to the hotel room, we all felt bad -- bloated, gassy, and nauseated. We hadn't eaten since brunch in the morning, seven hours before, so I can't think of anything else that could have caused this reaction. We also all ate different things, so if it were the chicken or the pasta, only one person would feel bad, but we all felt the same way. I can't believe I paid money to ruin my own trip. Nobody felt like going out once we got back to the hotel, and we wasted $100 and one night with the family. I understand that food prices are going up everywhere, but the prices here were still way too steep for the poor quality food. Last week for lunch we walked in, and there were about 6 people waiting and many empty tables. About 3/4 of the seats were available, and they told us a 45 minute wait. Great way to lose business.

Long wait so we decided to go yp the bar, got our drinks and then went down hill from there. Didn't have chicken sandwich so placed a partial order while we looked over menu. Partial order came and they never came back to take rest of our order was completely ignored the entire time, until our drinks were gone.

Not enough staff to sit in a booth. Never got to try the food! Obviously the manager was laking.

It’s sad but they are having staffing issues. Half the place was empty due to no wait staff. My food came out cold, then reheating only the pasta not the chicken. Long wait for the check and no compensation for the crumby meal. I apologize for leaving zero tip. Maybe next time. Times are changing and right now, this place is not keeping up. I’m not angry, I’m sad that we all are in this boat of acceptance for mediocre service and food. I had a margarita and it was weak on tequila. We went for her birthday and she got her food but it took them three times to make my food ask for a well done steak in the steak with bloody. Then I sent the food back and I said just give me a cheeseburger and fries make sure it's well done no onions cuz back and it was worse than the steak. So I went for a third time and the manager promise you can make it within 3 to 5 minutes so I gave him one last try. The cheeseburger tastes great but now the fries were cold. And the thing was we didn't even get a discount off of our bill nor did we even get to sing her happy birthday goodbye this time she just wanted to go home

Very bad experience with this restaurant, very disappointed. First off, Jessica, the hostess that takes phone orders put me on hold for 15 minutes when I was calling trying to place an order for pick up when I was driving there so I hung up & called back & asked to speak to a manager & then she just put me back on hold so by then I was already at the restaurant so I went inside to place my order & Jessica was the one supposed to take my order but she was too busy & had us just standing there & told us she would be right with us & then she went to go get some to go orders ready so I had to ask someone else if they could take our order & they said Jessica was supposed to. Once we got our food it was two very small entrees. Won’t be visiting this place again. Very disappointing with the service & quality of our food!

I feel like she’s waiting on this but Vivi was the rudest sever we’ve ever had hands down. From the top you can tell she didn’t want to be there, people have bad days but damn 😂 Never introduced herself, felt super rushed to order (I have kids who can be a little loud I get it but you work at a family restaurant…..) I ordered a mocktail that I got not only after my kids got their food but I had to ask ANOTHER server who had to remind her and she tried to blame the bar for being backed up but after he told her, I got it right away… my husband told her thank you for the drink that she just put down and walked away from & last but not least, I asked for a fork that I NEVER got LOL. If it was busy, I’d understand soo much, been a server I get it , but she literally disappeared after I asked for the fork, a whole 10 mins before we decided to just leave because the vibes killed our mood. Never had a bad server before so guess she’s first on our list.

Part 1: THE FOOD So when we go to Applebee’s we almost always get the same exact thing because it tends to be pretty consistent. Chicken wonton tacos, bbq boneless wings, mango iced tea, and sometimes a soda. Last night my girlfriend decided to try the prickly pear iced tea and she didn’t like it so we sent it back and there was no issue and I’m very thankful we didn’t get charged and I really appreciate that. The bbq boneless wings on the other hand are a different story, they came out and they definitely weren’t the bbq flavor. We’ve ordered this menu items a million times, even earlier this week, so we knew it was different. We gave it the benefit of the doubt though and all tried it to make sure it was wrong and it was. We couldn’t get our waitress’s attention so I walked up to her and explained the situation and she told me they were the bbq wings and that we couldn’t order a different flavor. I asked her to come to our table and she said the same thing that they definitely weren’t the bbq wings (wrong). My girlfriend made a case for why they weren’t the barbecue wings, color, flavor, sauce consistency, and she took the wings and said she would be back. Less than a minute later she comes back with the same exact plate of wings now with the bbq sauce on it. We gave it a try but the taste of the other sauce was still really strong on the wings so we sent it back and ordered a second order of the wonton tacos which seemed to really frustrate the waitress. I decided to try the quesadilla burger which was fine but I got very little fries on the side, much less than normal. And my friend who just ordered the waffle fries got a really small portion compared to normal on his plate too. Part 2: THE SERVICE We initially were helped by a waitress that was really nice and attentive and was checking in to make sure things were good but then she told us that she was just helping out another server and she was going to be helping us which is cool, love teamwork! But then we had a server that we’ve never had before which is fine but she was making us really comfortable and was being very short with us and made it seem like she didn’t want to be there. She made every question or concern an inconvenience, she walked by asking if everything was good but then turned around and left before we could answer, she brought out wrong food and argued with us, didn’t bring any refills the entire time, left empty plates on the table the entire time we were there and just overall was really rude and acted like she couldn’t be bothered to do anything. It took so long to get anyone’s attention, especially our waitress, that when we were trying to get a refill of tea she said they had already dumped it for the night so we just got water. We were dining there for two hours and for about 90 minutes of that had no drinks. My receipt says our server was Viviana but I can’t back that up with her name tag because she was never there long enough to read it. I don’t know what was going on last night at the Riverside Applebee’s but myself, my girlfriend, and our friend all agreed that we have NEVER had a dining experience like that literally anywhere. It felt like an episode of the twilight zone. It was just wrong overall. Usually this location is a 4 or 5 star experience but I would give a 0 for last night if it was an option. So dissatisfied, disappointed, and embarrassed that I had to give them my money yesterday. If Viviana is working, save yourself the headache and go down the street to McDonald’s, you’ll get far better service

Ordered my steak, we ordered for pickup. Got home tried to bite my steak and i couldnt not bite it apart. It was unbeliable i could not even cut it apart i had to go get a diff knife and it was just pure fat, more like a nerve. it was wayy to thick and i also asked for it well done. My reminder to everyone NOT TO GO ON HALLOWEEN. We used to every year but it’s always so busy after 3pm, if you think this is a good place to dine in that day it’s not. The food is great so order to go but do not dine in on Halloween before or after trick or treating it’s a bad mix of too many kids, too many parents trying to rush so they can go trick or treating or go to bed, and too many people complaining that the cheap alcohol isn’t strong enough. 0/10 experience it’s seriously not worth the trouble. Even if it looks empty it will still be slow because they will focus on their to go orders on holidays. TELL EVERYONE DONT GO TO THE MENIFEE ONE ON A HOLIDAY!

Brought my baby out tonight to celebrate her birthday and celebrate her awards from school. She pick Applebee's waitress ( Viveana) attitude horrible ..... she don't checking on her tables. It's 2 of us she charged me for 3 sodas. I asked why they said you changed soda . WHAT I didn't like that soda. So I have to pay for a different one cause I didnt like starry I asked for sprite. HORRIBLE SERVICE. THESE YOUNG PEOPLE.... NIGHT CREW AT APPLEBEES ON UNIVERSITY SUCKS MANGEMENT DO TO. YOU HAVE LOSTED A LOYAL CUSTOMER . I WILL NOT PLAY WITH THESE RESTRAINTS YOU WILL RESPECT ME AND MONEY OR I WILL NEVER RETURN.

I can understand why this Riverside ratings are very low compared to the surrounding Applebees in the greater area. There has to be something said about the lack of customer service and the management is just plain awful. If the same person still manages this franchisee location, this location will continue to suffer in all aspects of operating this restaurant business. I’m forced to choose a low one star rating but if given the opportunity to give none; I definitely do it.

Ive been coming here for years but I’ve been having bad service the past 6 months , the food is great , it took my waitress like 10 mins to give us a refill by then we were done with our food , not once did she stopped to ask if we needed anything , we had to called her , when they brought me my steak they didn’t even give me utensils I had to ask for them 5 min later , I think they need to do better with the customers .
