Came here with my niece and it was great. The gentleman who helped us was kind. The food was great! I read the negative reviews and was hesitant at first. But they charge you what it actually costs, if you don’t understand someone I suggest Google translate. Business owners tells you their story on the menu and why it has the name. Perhaps for those don’t take the time to read or pay attention to detail, I suggest taking the time to do so. Wonderful experience and my niece loved her pho soup!

My boyfriend and I went through the reviews and he is a huge believer that if service is bad food is great and I got to tell you. Don’t trust the reviews. Customer service was very good. All including the lady mentioned at the comments before was nice. And I specifically took a picture of my boba so you can see the large boba size. These are Vietnamese people, they have different cultures they ain’t going to be like American people. Just sit, speak clear and give thanks for the tasty food. Definitely don’t take it too serious if they aren’t the best host. But I can tell you the food is delicious and definitely appreciated the effort in the costumer service I experienced here. Thank you! 🙏🏻

I was craving some pho after the gym so I came to Pho DJ. When I walked inside, the older gentleman directed me very politely to sit at table 1. I ordered the #3 pho with tendon, brisket, and tripe. It was absolutely delicious, the broth was extremely flavorful and the meat was tasty and tender. The only con I would say is they serve slightly too many noodles per bowl and the broth gets soaked up a bit, not that serious. The older woman and man who I presume to be the owners were extremely kind. I’m not sure what these other emotional reviewers are talking about. I WILL be back!!

I am Vietnamese, a picky Pho eater and this restaurant has won my heart. We went to Riverside for my daughter's UCR school and decided to try out the Pho restaurants in Riverside area. I previously tried other restaurants nearby but none was as compared as Pho DJ. My usual favorite is Chicken Pho. The soup was right on, the noodle was soft enough to chew and not sticking together, the chicken meat is fresh. The restaurant atmosphere is decent. Everything is clean. It's not super spacious or overly decorated so it's not important for my visit. I came for the food. The service is super nice. I spoke with the owner couple, they were super friendly. They let me know the restaurant is 6 yrs old and was mainly running by family. They have tried to keep the cost down even though they are a bit struggling with inflation. They cook the Pho with family recipes, soup is cooked with bones, and the noodles are always fresh, and this is what I like about authentic Pho cuisine. I will definitely revisit this restaurant the next time I am in Riverside area.

Great service. Very clean atmosphere and easy to order. This restaurant used to be operated by a different vendor/family. The flavor of the food is still authentic and savory. Yet it does have distinct flavor.

I stop at this place about once a month when I get tired of my regular diet. I love meatball soup...Place is friendly and clean . .

The food was fair, the service was poor. They got a touch busy and completely forgot to make one of the dinners. Everyone was done eating when the final dish came. We were told they forgot and also told they were out of some of the ingredients and had to make more. The dish wash watery and tasteless. We'll skip it next time we're in town

I am a little disappointed on how they serve you your drinks here. My mom went to Pho DJ to buy me PHO and a Vietnamese iced coffee with no ice, because I am a little sick and didn't want it with my drink. Well they didn't put any ice but there was only an inch of coffee in that cup and the first time we went my drink was full of ice with only a little bit of coffee. When my mom brought my drink I thought she drank half of it, bit she said "It wasn't like this it had less than this."

I went in there to grab some spring rolls with shrimp and it was a to go order. When I open it, I couldn't believe what I had ordered. I was very disappointed with the spring rolls. It only had lettuce, cumbers and shrimp. No noodles or bean sprouts. I was looking for to the bean sprouts too. Plus they add a tip to my order with I had paid with my card. I put the tip on the jar and still they add on the receipt after I paid 😡. I guess they won't get my business anymore.

Frequent customer here. First and foremost, I want to say that the food is great. I alternate between the pho bowls and the fried rice (the latter can go as high as $17 by the way) As for customer service, it lacks plenty. The ladies are quick to get you out, and twice I had to correct the cashier that the price was incorrect, which may have been due to the language barrier (which is a BIG barrier here), so I brushed both incidents off. The complimentary water is very nice though. Atmosphere. The photo says it all, they gave me a used / very dirty plastic spoon with my recent order. I don't want to think about what the back kitchen looks like. Id've gone back and brought their attention to it, but as mentioned above, I'd have a harder time explaining the situation trying to get them to understand, than just using a different utensil. All things considered, the food is great but be sure to double check your receipt - mostly for human error. Update: first time coming back since the review, had to pull up my calculator to confirm the price for two pho bowls. They're definitely adding whatever they want to their charges (to go fee? Really?)

The Pho is good except it's not very big and not enough meat and stingy on the bean sprouts. The owner got a little too personal with me and they seem to be in financial trouble. I guess that's why they took an extra .90¢ from my CC payment. I would order again but not use CC.

Was in Riverside today with my wife and grandson , Ordered the pho beef very tasty and the strawberry smoothie with Boba was very delicious. , the reason I gave this restaurant one star is our order of egg rolls were over done dark brown, I took them up to a employee maybe cook or owner and explained can we get another egg roll order made , He told me that they were fine ? I showed him the ends were black but he still stood his ground .I told him we probably wouldn't be back , I don't understand what was his cost out of pocket to make 4 more new fresh ones not burnt and keep new first time there happy and to come back again. My wife has experience working in restaurants and said sometimes that is caused by not changing the fryer oil or maybe over cooked ,the inside was dried up. .But again the pho beef soup and smoothie good was good..

I decided to try this place again to see if things have changed. It got worse!! The lettuce was old, the meat wasn't good and still small portions. My combo plate was all noodles. This place really went downhill! 👎

After eating here for 2 years it's apparent the new ownership can NOT cook the same as what we experienced in the past. Fresh Rolld were stuck together, no condiments, hoisin, chili oil paste, pickled chili's, Crispy Egg noodles just deep fried to cracker hard, not pan fried crispy as in past, more cabbage and sliced raw carrots than chicken, no water and the copy paper printer lunch menu didn't have any PRICES! Very disappointing Still no excuse for over fried noodles, old fresh rolls stuck together, didn’t ask me if I wanted condiments or water as is traditional in Vietnamese restaurant and why no prices on copy paper menu???

I will always support a mom and pop place. But, unfortunately our dinner was not good at all. We had 71 B crispy noodles. I don't know if the cook was new, very tasteless, not much sauce. Inedible. Doesn't make not me to want to come back. So sorry

I usually enjoy eating at this restaurant but today was it for me. I had lunch with a friend today and there was hair in both of our food. I mentioned to the staff there was hair in our food and they said the hair was mine (even though the hair was nothing like my hair) then the lady proceeded to put her hand in my bowl and remove the hair. I will never eat here again!!!

Found a hair sticking out of my spring roll, owner inspected it like it was mine. He tried to pull it out and when he couldn’t, said “oh, I’ll make another one”. GROSS! Then they got mad when we wanted to leave and he said we couldn’t leave b/c they were making another. We DID NOT want another. We wanted to puke. Lady owner yelled and told us to just leave after telling them we don’t have an appetite anymore. Rude and gross.

I have never eat there in person, pack to go twice for beef soup. The vege was dry and little, looks like it was prepared a few days ago and the noodles was not fresh, I have been around many pho restaurants in Riverside, this one definitely no good.

This place SUCKS! The female server eho I think is the owner, does not understand simple English when we asked if they still serve fried boneless milkfish, and if the former Vietnamese resto was sold. Rather than nicely say they don't, she was rushing us to order QUICKLY and order a different fish, before we could even situate ourselves. She then came back 2 mins. later wsnting us to order quickly; the resto only had 2 sit down clients eating and no one else wss waiting. The previous owners were nice and patient. Wr ended up walking out and went to Lee's Vietnamese resto instead. STAY AWAY from this place unless you wish to get indigestion from being upset on theur crude treatment. Nothing lower than a one star on all. 🤬 Date visited, May 31, 2024, 12:30 P.M.

The food here is not good. We ordered take out and when we got to the restaurant, our order was incorrect. The lady was extremely defensive when we told her that our order wasn’t right and that they gave us the wrong order but we still paid extra for the dish that we were missing. The pho was extremely bland and the meat portion was very little. Also, inside the restaurant was so unbearably hot inside and stuffy. We will not be returning here!

I been going to this restaurant for a few years. The food is pretty good; however the service is terrible. Several times they forget parts of orders or add items. Today was the straw that Broke the camels back I called and placed a order told the gentleman who was taking my order that he added a #9 and I told him various times I did not want the item. When my girlfriend went to go pick it up , our order still had the extra item and he refused to remove it and wanted to charge us for it. He then proceed to call me to argue that I ordered the 9 (even though I told him various times I did not want the #9) and I was told to never come back. Terrible service and lost a loyal customer.

My boyfriend and I have been going to this place for years, they lost 2 customers today. My boyfriend had called to place a pick up order, we ordered a #1, #29, #33. When the gentleman who was taking our ordered repeated the order he said #1, #29, #9, and a #33. My boyfriend said various times we did not want the #9, the gentleman ignored it. I went to go pick it up and the #9 was still in our order. I told him we did not order the #9, he got argumentative and refused to take it off our order. We’re not going to pay for something we didn’t order, so I walked out. The gentleman then called my boyfriend telling him that he indeed ordered the #9 (which isn’t true) and told him to never come back.

I am very upset at this place! I only take a 30 min lunch break and only have enough time to run and get the food I order. This place has giving me the wrong order once and miss items the second time. The manager was very rude when I asked him to replace my order, he insisted for me to bring it back, but my lunch break was over! I asked him to send someone to pick it up and he said that was not possible. I do not intend to get free food; I just want to get what I paid for at the time I pick it up. He also said it is a family owned and operated business, well they suck! I was a regular customer there but forget it! never again.

I ordered a seafood pho and while I was eating. I saw a small bug in my soup. I asked my sisters if that was a bug. And it was so I called a waiter and told them there was a bug. The waiter asked where and took out the bug and that's it. Expecting me to continue eating it. They did not apologize for the matter instead were rude about it. Not coming here again.

The owner was really rude, told me to go sit down when I asked for a fork. Up charged me and then said it was extra money for a to-go box. I’ve never been anywhere where they charge for to-go boxes. It is sad because I have been coming here for some time now, and the unkindness has been bearable but this time was too much.

I ordered orange chicken and rice the orange chicken had a weird taste and the chicken was extremely hard, I asked the older man if they can fix it nd he said no you ordered it basically deal with it, I explained to him he can try it himself the food tasted off the chicken was overcooked and just not good and he basically said there’s nothing he can do than the other Chinese guy just sat there staring at me and my family , terrible customer service and food. Will not be back.

for some reason people can’t film THEMSELVES eating here….like not only are the employees rude as hell but you must be hiding something for you to be that worried and paranoid of someone filming themselves eat…….

She will not return your change In Your hand, she will always set it down for you to pick up. Her tone and mannerism screams micro aggression and today I'm done.

I was in there on Monday, they were busy because of the rain but I know what I ordered and I saw my receipt for $15 at the register. I’m now reviewing my bank statement and I noticed they actually charged me $20. I didn’t approve that charge, it may only be $5 to me but who knows to how many other people they have done that to.
