Shake was excellent Good bread on sandwich Chicken bits were really good got a little tang to them or something
I was told we needed to come here... Drove an hour and We were NOT dissapointed! It was delicious and we were treated like VIP's! Couldn't believe how busy they were, but it was Saturday... Trista (the manager) took our order and recommended food as we were first timers, she even later came to the lobby to check how our food was. We will be back! Thank you!
Really yummy! We live in Northern Nevada and my husband really wanted to try shake shack and we were not disappointed. We got the shack stack, shroom burger, black sesame milkshake and bacon cheese fries. I thought it was going to be another McDonald’s, maybe In N Out quality, but it was really good! The sesame shake was interesting, it kind of tasted like cookies and cream but a bit nutty. The shroom burger is vegetarian and stuffed with really yummy melty cheese. The shake stack was a regular burger combined with a shroom burger, also delicious. The cheese fries look like those nasty fake crinkle cut things you used to get in school lunches, but it’s really just a shape, they taste lreally good and are made from real potatoes. The bacon on top was delicious and crispy. We even waited in a long line and it was still worth it! The service was fast and the employees were polite.
The School Yard Shake Shack is so consistently good, food great, service great, easy to order and fast. We love this place!
Shake shack came very highly recommended from my NYC-native coworker. I was skeptical but open-minded, and believe me: this place lives up to the hype. The overall style and energy in the restaurant was really fun, and the food was way better than I expected. I got a smoke shack burger, cheese fries, and a malted cookies and cream shake. All were excellent. This particular location also hosts weekly family night activities, which I think is awesome. I think any community would be better with a shake shack in it.
One of the best burgers I've had. Wish there was one closer to home.
Pretty good burgers. They are small, but delicious. Shakes are pretty good too!
My wife and I were not overly hungry so we came in here for some shakes and got some cheese fries. Everything was tasty and we got it super quick. My wife's shake cup had a small slash that we didn't notice until we were able to leave. It was a small leak and we went up to ask for another cup to put it in. Instead of getting a new cup the manager made her a brand new shake. Very impressed with the service!
Seriously, move over In-n-Out. Shake Shack was the best burger I've had in Utah. I don't usually care for crinkle cut fries, but these are amazing fries. Their lemonade puts Hot Dog on a Stick to shame. The strawberry shake makes me want to go back. The burger was so damn tasty. Do yourself a favor and head over!
Strange label of "The School Yard" aside, this really is a Shake Shack. Other reviewers have complained about the price. I do think the prices are high, but I'm well aware of their prices when I visit and still find myself returning. This is not a regular stop for me, but one I visit when I'm craving a certain quality of burgers. They have a nice selection of burgers and sandwiches, which they limit to a handful of options to keep consistency. They have a few sides, shakes, sodas, and a few specialty sodas. We tried the ShackBurgers, the fries, a shake, and a specialty rootbeer. All were excellent. The burger is very juicy and cheesy and amazing. The fries are some of the best crinkle fries you can find. The shakes are thick and full of flavor. The employees are nice, the service is fast, and the restaurant is clean. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio allows dogs.
I'm surprised by the 3.5 star rating it currently has. I'd consider it in the same league as Smash Burger, Tony Burger, or Five Guys. The burger was excellent. It reminded me a bit of Smash Burger. The bun and patty were among the best of the fast food burger places. My initial impression was the burger was on the small side, but it turned out to be a reasonable amount of food. The fries were fine. Certainly better than In'n'out but probably not as good as Smash fries. I'd consider them in the middle. The shake was great too. Thicker than a McDonald's shake. Great flavor too. Overall, I'm happy to have it. It's yet another tasty burger place in the area.
I had an incredible experience at this location! The food was absolutely top-notch—juicy, flavorful patties cooked to perfection, with fresh toppings and perfectly toasted buns. Every bite was delicious, and the fries were crisp and golden, just the way I like them. What made the visit even more memorable was the exceptional service. Tina and Chelsea went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. They were friendly, attentive, and truly made the meal feel special. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in their work. If you’re looking for a place that serves amazing burgers and treats you like family, this is it. Highly recommend—and make sure to say hi to Tina and Chelsea when you go!
Shake Shack = NYC and being in New York is part of the ambience of Shake Shack, so I didn't know what to expect at a Shake Shack in Utah. Would the burgers be just as good as they are when eating one in Madison Square Park? Well, I can answer that YES. The Shack Burger is just as good as I remember. And the 100 year old school house that this Shack resides in gives it some cool character too. Well done Shake Shack. Well done.
My very first time at a Shake Shack, and now I know what all the hype is about! Literally the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had in my entire life—edge-to-edge goodness with everything centered and not sliding out one side of the bun. Plenty of fat in that burger, but I’m sure that’s why it was so delicious. I’m supposed to be eating plant-based, but occasionally I find out about a place like Shake Shack and then it’s all over with! I wanted a vanilla malt shake, but I knew I would consume it all and I couldn’t afford another 800 calories. Next time I will see if they can cheat me on one and only fill my cup halfway. ;^D
I’ve been to Shake Shack in five states and two countries. It’s amazing. It’s heaven. It’s obviously a bit more expensive than your typical burger, but you are running the risk of a foodgasm. If you’re a fan of “Zion,” then come here. The environment here is fun, chill, and welcoming. The space is clean and well designed. Now that the opening rush is winding down, the 10-20 minute wait is well worth your time.
I have been dreaming of this day since I first tried it in NY back in 2013 and I am beyond stoked that it's finally here!!! I can't even begin to describe how amazing the staff and managers were opening day, it was packed, yet they still managed to move the line along quickly and efficiently, props!! The food was absolutely delicious as always!! One of the managers even brought me a lemonade after joking with them about forgetting to order one in line. If that's not grade A service, I don't know what is??!! Thank you Shake Shack, consider my life savings yours haha!!! I will be back 🤤
Yum! First time eating at a Shake Shack and I am impressed! Dustin helped us out, face excellent suggestions, and I opted to try the Hot Ones chicken bacon burger... I will think about this burger a lot. Wife and I also grabbed some of their lemonades, as well as some bacon cheese fries; all excellent!
Really great addition to our community! After a medium wait, only about 25 minutes, which we thought wasn’t too bad considering this has only been open a few weeks and the hype surrounding it, we were able to order. The renovation to this historic building shows so investment into our community that is commendable and delightful! It’s really cute inside and out, a cool place to hang out including some table tennis tables, bean bag throwing, and thoroughly stocked with board games, shuffle board, and more. I appreciate shake shack providing a space for people to hang out! This is pretty uncommon The food was great! I got the portabelo burger, it has tons of cheese and it’s great! The chicken burger was also wonderful. Fries look like school lunch but were actually also great. We got the draft root beer and the 50/50 tea and both were freaking amazing! Finally, we got the peach pie ice cream thing. It was wonderful but we were already full. For portion sizes and fullness... I would recommend dinner OR dessert here. Both was a lot... Some have complained about the price, I disagree with them. I think you are paying for food, service, and ambience (usually those factor into a tip at other places) and all that considering, I actually think shake shake is a fantastic deal all around! A pleasant place to be with wonderful food for the price and great drinks! Get the 50/50 tea. Plus wine!
This place is definitely worth checking out. It is pricy. To give you an idea: In and Out cheese burger is $2.55. Freddy's cheese burger is $3.89. A Shake Shack chees burger is $5.39. All of them are similar in size. Here is a list of pros and cons. Pros: -The burger is incredible. -The shakes are made with real ice cream. Your typical chocolate milkshake is vanilla ice cream with Hersheys syrup and it’s typically not strong enough to taste like chocolate. This is intense chocolate. Well worth it. -free entertainment. Ping-pong tables out front that are a lot of fun. -the restaurant is in an old school from the 1920s which gives it a really cool look. Cons: -The fries are not that good. -Don’t bother with add-ons like malt. We got a regular chocolate shake and one with malt and you could not taste the difference. A waste of money. -This location is not on the official Shake Shack website so you could not look at the menu while in line. It’s rather silly that they don’t have hand out menus to look at while in line. The menu is basically right where you order so you don’t get to see the menu until you’re almost ready to order. All in all, it’s a great place to eat. If you don’t want to wait in line you should definitely go to Freddy’s. Similar except their fries are way better.
First time I ever ate here was in Vegas, it was delicious, I was so excited when they built one in Utah. Just got the Shack burger it was perfect. Garlic sauce for the fries was great also!
Couldn’t have been more happy and excited for Shake Shack to come to UT!!! Are the lines long? Yes. Is it busy inside and out? Yes. Just realize that’s how it’s going to be, bring a good friend(s) for company and relax. You’re about to eat good food! Their patties are so flavorful but their portabello mushroom burger is so good! That’s why I love and order the Shack Stack. Both burger and mushroom in one. Their chicken burgers are also really good. Great shakes. My wife loves the black and white. I tried their black sesame shake and loved it. Way cool atmosphere as well. Again, Shake Shack is in UTAH!!! So, be happy, be patient and you’ll have delicious food in front of you before you know it!
This quaint little venue is home to not only a nice and unique dining experience with great food, and it is also uniquely built out of the old 1930's Valley High School. I grew up viewing and passing by it again and again when it was still a small school house, but never really toured until just recently. Located in the heart of Sandy, Utah it offers a brief view of history as well as fine dining. I strongly recommend visiting here.
I thought it was great, the food was fresh and came out quickly, the truffle sauce was good! We ordered the truffle burger, shack burger, and Parmesan fries. I also thought the atmosphere in the restaurant was cool. No interior walls and the seating area was full, so it was a bit loud while we were there but not too bad.
I am glad I took the drive from Provo to try Shake Shack for the first time. They have quality service and great food. I had forgotten to order a gluten free bun and went to the counter expecting to have to pay to buy a the bun. To my surprise, they quickly whipped up a new burger with a gluten free bun free of charge. I didn’t even expect them to give me a new burger, I just expected the bun. I thought the burger was very good due to particularly good hamburger patties. The crinkle cut fries were classic and brought me back to ball parks growing up. I recommend giving it a try.
I’m honored to be the first to review this location. It was my first time at any shake shack and I was blown away. The staff was phenomenal, the building is super clean, the food was excellent. The location is great as well. There are a lot of great things to choose from on the menu. Highly recommended for those that have never been before.
Yum, Shake Shack! We ordered ahead on New Year's day and it was busy but worth the wait. We played UNO, Blackjack, and shuffleboard while we waited. It was so fun!I loved the double shack burger, and the chicken sandwich was so good too. The fries were great and the manager was so kind. She cleaned our table and brought our order out. We really enjoyed our meal. Thanks!
Shake Shack is a perennial family favorite. We came today as part of dad’s bday weekend. The food was, as always, delicious. It came out completely hot and fresh. Also, a special shoutout to Tina—she was so nice and helpful.
This location is as good as any other. Tried a lettuce-wrap double-burger and it was one of the best lettuce wrap burgers we have had anywhere. The chicken bites smothered in korean bbq sauce were tasty, albeit a little smaller than I expected for a 10-piece. The cookies and cream shake was great. The poppers in my flavored lemonade were great. And the service was friendly and relatively quick.
This place has really amazing food. If you’re looking for fast food why would you go anywhere else? They don’t have dollar menu prices, but the quality makes up for it for sure. I got the double burger and bacon cheese fries twice and both times it was more than I could eat. I think a single patty is plenty, but nothing compares to the flavor of that double beef patty. It’s like what I wanted smash burger to be.
What a lovely burger joint. This is my forat time trying famous Shake shack and it's wasn't disappointing. Ordering through kiosk so smooth and easy. Dining room are so spacious and clean. Staff are helpful and kind. We try limited time menu Truffle burger and Cherry blossom shake they are delicious.
I had a great experience at this location. Initially, when placing my order, there was a misunderstanding where the cashier made a mistake and I received the wrong food. The manager was very understanding and fixed everything quickly. Plus, I ended up with more than I was charged for. As for the food, the quality is exceptional. Trying Shake Shack is worth it.
Can I just say Utahans are the worst food critics on the planet? People giving it 1 star for having to wait in long lines on opening day. Multiple people ordering the Shroom Burger thinking it was a burger with mushrooms on it, like- did you look at the picture or description? I’m happy not having to drive to Vegas anymore for my Shake Shack fix. This location and building is truly amazing. Historic reconstruction inside the old school house, with fun games and entertainment located inside and outside the restaurant. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The experience we had was almost identical of that of the Vegas location- both quality of food and service... and this was on opening day! We had staff ready to clean our table immediately and also offered to take our trash. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it for the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. Got the Smoke Shack and my wife got the Shack stack + a shake and cheese fries. Utahans will never be willing to pay for quality food- so don’t listen to any negative reviews left by disgruntled locals who reject anything new & unfamilIar that you have to pay for.
Food was good, but the burgers are definitely on the small side. Almost like something you get in a kids meal. The chicken bites were so small, it was almost comical! Service was slow, it took 24 minutes to get our order. The pumpkin shake we ordered was fantastic. Seating is limited and people were standing around waiting for tables.
Update: the menu is still in a bad spot but I guess you just have to go when it's not busy so they can hear your order. The ordering screens are sorta helpful but it would be better at the tables for those who want to dine in. They have decent burgers and custard but if you want chicken, go up the street to super chix. The menu should be behind the cashier for easier ordering and viewing and a screen to show what is being rang up. I was having second hand anxiety for the workers because it could be a better system to make their job less stressful.
It was overall a good burger. The smoke shack has some cherry peppers that add a subtle kick to the flavor of the burger. Seating became limited on a Friday night, but there was some outside seats too. The 🍟 were ok, nothing special. The con to the burger is the size. Felt like a kids meal size. Not bad for a first time.
We obviously don’t deserve shake shack in Utah...folks want to give one star reviews for misreading a menu description or having to wait in a long line on opening weekend. Oi vey. This little brick and mortar setup nestled in Sandy is right on par with its brothers and sisters in New York, Seattle and Las Vegas. The line was out to the street (imagine having to wait in line on the second day it was open) but moved quickly. Staff was helpful and courteous, inside was clean, food was hot and timely. I got a shack burger, a chicken shack, cheese fries and a vanilla shake (because SHAKE shack, duh). I recommend all these menu items. This was my first time trying a chicken shack and I gotta tell you, it was superb! Perfectly flaky on the outside and tender on the inside, the chicken combined with tart pickle and buttermilk herb mayo was heavenly. I will be ordering another on my next visit. Honestly you will not be disappointed with chicken or cow here. I’ll be back when these lines die down although from what I’ve tasted today, I doubt that will happen anytime soon.
Great burger! Tasted fresh and good with a bit of a salty char taste (way better then your regular run of the mill fast food). Not a long wait to order but a while to wait for the food. Crinkle cut Fries and Shake Attack Concrete were just decent (the fries were a little dry and the concrete was too chocolatey). The restaurant was clean. It's a little pricey but the burgers are better than fast food burgers. I'd eat there again.
Taste actually really good! The double cheeseburger is great! The cheese to meat to bun ratio is spot on. The shakes are also really good. The big down side to Shake Shack is that it is SO expensive! If it were cheaper here then it would be great! I know it is the only one in Utah, but man it was so busy. For now try going in a time that isn't too busy because there will be a long line and you'll have a difficult time finding a place to sit to eat.
The Shake Shack is a great restaurant. There are a lot of fans of the chain who are thrilled to finally have the restaurant here in Utah and consequently, the lines are very long, but the food is excellent. I ordered a shake, a smokeshack, and bacon fries. The food all tasted wonderful, but the bacon fries didn't have enough bacon to justify the extra dollar I paid. All-in-all, the Shake Shack is definitely a restaurant that is worth visiting. Is it worth waiting in line 40 minutes to try? That depends on whether or not you're a fan of the franchise. If you want to try it for the first time, wait till the lines die down a bit.
Pretty good but super overpriced for the food. I spend 20 bucks on food and was hungry when I left. The shake was the best part tbh
I'm so happy Utah finally has some Shake Shack locations opening up. I've bad Shake Shack in NY and in NV and the quality all across the board is the same in a of their locations wich i think says a lot about a growing fast food chain. Their menu has a good balance and different options if you're not in the mood for just a burger. I personally love their quality of the meat and the cheese sauce is to die for. Their staff and the decor is great and its a cool place to hang out a bit even after your meal. The only reason why In n Out still has my heart is simply bigger portions, grilled onions, flavor, and the price for sure.
We’re excited to here and arrived to see a big line out the door. It ended up moving relatively quickly so we were pleasantly surprised by that. They have some fun games inside that make passing the time fun. I ordered the chicken sandwich and a malt and my wife ordered a cheeseburger. Overall, I really like the chicken and the shake as far as taste goes. However, I was disappointed when I bit into my sandwich and the first bite was nothing but lettuce. I opened up the sandwich to see if they patty was sliding out but it turns out the patty was only half the size of the sandwich. If this had happened at McD’s I wouldn’t have been upset but at a place like this it should be held to a higher standard. Some employee put that tiny patty on the sandwich and felt it was adequate - seems unacceptable. If it hadn’t been so crowded I would’ve gone back and asked for a new one. Hopefully next time I can have a better experience.
Shake shack has good burgers, shakes, and normal fries. The spicy honey chicken sandwich is different and not something I would order again. The bacon cheese fries are also something I would not order again as well as the cheese is just odd. Now the shake and burger are good and worth going to Shake Shack every so often. Not the best burgers for the price, but fresh ingredients and good flavor overall make Shake Shack a solid 4 stars.
Very tasty burgers and shakes. I'm normally not a fan of weird-cut fries, but these were good. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is we couldn't order fry sauce or their special sauce while ordering online, so we had to eat the fries with just ketchup. I'm a Utahn, darn it! Show me the sauce!
Good quality burger for the price. Got a single ShackBurger (lettuce wrap, no bun) and an order of fries with a side of their ShackSauce and it was just over $9. It was good, I think it might be a little over-hyped, but I think everyone should at least try it once to have their own opinion/experience. I would probably come again, but only on occasion. Came for lunch on a weekday, it surprisingly wasn’t too packed, service was quick. Plenty of parking.
This is a great burger. It was served hot with melty cheese and crisp ripe vegetables. The only drawback is the price, which I feel was a bit excessive. As far as the facility, it’s clean, modern and well appointed. Service was outstanding. I’ll be coming back to try other varieties of their burgers.
I use to love shake shack back in the day but honestly there’s a lot of good burger places here and although it’s a decent burger, it just doesn’t stand out from the competition. I appreciate shake shack for offering gluten free buns though! And their classic bun is really good. Also the fries are good but the cheese they use tastes grassy or something it’s always been that way not a fan. Shakes are good! Service is decent but you order on the kiosk. Restaurant is mostly clean and ok ambiance
I got a bacon cheeseburger with some extras added on(lettuce, tomato, crispy onion, and pickle). It was really good. My bun was a little soggy from the grease from the burger. The crispy onions were a nice add on too. I also added ketchup as there was no sauce on it. The bacon was a little too crispy/burnt. Other than that it is one of the better burgers I have eaten. Next time I will go without the bacon and crispy onions and I think it would be perfect. I also wanted to try the cheese fries. Also yummy. I do wish the cheese sauce had more flavor to it though. It kind of reminds me of a bland velveeta sauce. Overall the interior is very clean and the atmosphere is relaxed. They have kiosks or a person for ordering and will bring your food to your table.
This place is still new so the line is ridiculous. I got here a little before opening and the line started forming already. It’s pretty cool walking in to this old school building for a burger. I liked what they did to the place. The food was delicious but pretty pricey. All menu items are ordered a la cart. So there isn’t any combo discounts. The shake was a little thicker than what I prefer. It was definitely worth checking out. It’s a little out of my way, so for the price, I’ll probably be going to other places closer by.
I’ve been to this sandy shake shack location many times, majority I haven’t had any problems. Until recently I made an online order for pick up, the bag was sealed when I arrived. The unfortunate part is when I got home and check the contents, I had all items except they forgot my fries and I felt it was too late to go back and lost a few dollars. I do would like see to an improvement whoever puts the food together to make sure nothing goes missing.
For a place called the Shake Shack, I was really disappointed in the desserts my husband and I received. No "over-the-rim" shakes here. My husband's chocolate shake had a kind of grainy texture. My salted caramel concrete was very small, yet cost as much as the shake. (I have to be honest and say that my disappointment started when they told me they were out if the peach pie mix-in advertised on their board.) The fries were just like the crinkle fries you can buy frozen and cook at home in your oven, which I didn't mind, but I was surprised to find that this is probably the only burger joint in Utah that doesn't have fry sauce. The star of our meals were our burgers which were absolutely DELICIOUS! The atmosphere seemed upbeat and I loved the tables made from old bowling alley lanes. Ultimately, I'd only come here for the burgers in the future as there are other places to get truly super shakes.
Meh, it's good but... Shrug. That was basically our families reaction to the food. My reaction was 45 dollars? I don't think we will be back. Lots of good local burger joints that cost less and have more character than this place. Food was good but.... That was the phrase that kept coming up. Good but.. Meh. Pass.
We got to the Shake shack and there was a line out the door, waited about 20 minutes to get our order in. I ordered a double burger n fries and a Coke. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our food to come out. Took a bite and it was okay! NOT Worth all the hype! WhatABurger and In and Out are much better! How busy it was they only had one cashier helping everyone! They were out of napkins and a few the fountain drinks were out. No manager Present on the floor. The person making the burgers was going really slow! He was eating fries while make the burgers! Lol!
I was craving a burger and Shake Shack delivers. It’s delicious but I wish there was more meat! Or less bread? The fries are ok. Not a fan of crinkle cut fries. I got the tiramisu shake and it tasted more like a caramel shake pretending to taste like coffee but we both knew it wasn’t! It’s ok for a quick and dirty meal. But also, way more expensive than it should be. Way more! This was $16
This will be a mixed review. Cliffs notes: Tasty (but small) burgers, decent fries, terrible shakes, everything is expensive for what you get. Full version: My wife and I tried Shake Shack for the first time today, and bottom line, we were underwhelmed. Service was slow; took 15 minutes from ordering to receive our food. We each tried the Smokeshack burger, which has cheese, bacon, and chopped cherry peppers. It was good... but small. Everyone saying it's no better than a burger from McDonald's or In N' Out aren't far off if referring solely to size, but not taste. The patties are fresh and much thicker than the frozen, processed patties fast-food joints use. Their signature sauce is tasty, and the peppers added a lot of flavor to the package. Delicious, but small, and not worth $6.75 to us because of how small it was. There are competitors that sell larger burgers of the same or better quality, with equally good flavor, for similar prices. Next, the fries. They were undercooked for my liking; not very crispy. Otherwise decent. Now for the final straw... the "Shake" in Shake Shack likely refers to milkshakes. Being that the massive chain is named for shakes, you'd think they would know how to make decent shakes. What a misnomer. Their so-called Concrete Shakes are appropriately named not for their thickness, but for their horrible taste and grittiness. My chocolate shake was the absolute worst milk shake I've ever had. Even if it was on par with most other low-quality fast food restaurants (which is what their shakes compete with, since they're fake), it wouldn't have been worth the ridiculous price of $5 for a 16-oz shake. Because it was runny, gritty, and the flavor was terrible, the shakes aren't worth paying a dime for. For $5, I expect real ice cream. Do yourself a favor, go literally anywhere else for a milkshake. There's a great local chain that does Frozen Custard right that has a location between South Jordan and Daybreak, for about the same price.
If the line out the door was any indication then this should have been the best burger around. Sadly, this one didn’t live up to the hype for me. I waited a few weeks after it opened to give it a try. I figured I would give them some time to iron out any wrinkles before stopping by. That might have been my first mistake...they were out of some of the main ingredients for their signature shakes and I would have been content to settle for a malt BUT they were out of malt. So, I settled for a fountain drink and their apple pie ice cream. The fries were fine but felt like something from a cafeteria instead of place servicing burgers and shakes. The chicken nuggets felt over priced and lacked in quality. I would still go back but with lowered expectations...maybe then I’ll be pleasantly surprised to find they’ve restocked the items they ran out of.
I describe Shake Shack as a Semi-Annual (If that) dining choice that gets an overall 3.6/5. The burgers really are a solid 4.5, but everything else is so lack-luster and so pricey, that it just can not justify the price. 40 bucks for 2 people in a fast-casual? And that's an average order? Food wise: Krinkle-cut fries are usually too soggy or too salty, and for a place called "Shake" Shack, the shakes are slightly below average. I ordered mine with malt and there was no malt flavor at all. Texture was good, chocolate flavor okay. The bacon cheese fries didn't even come with bacon, we had to go back. Burgers really are very fresh, great crust on the patty, soft bun, good beef flavor. The big redemption is that new Truffle Burger. (Pictured) the truffle aioli is awesome. Strong, flavorful, and makes the burger unique and stand out. If that can become a regular, I think we could go back for the uniqueness of it. Other than that, a regular burger can't keep us coming back regularly.
TTB Shake Shack Really... Their main menu item: Tiny Tiny Burgers. I mean tiny. It was good it’s just that I can’t understand why they can’t be larger. Noticed a piece of lettuce in the burger there was about 3 1/2 in.². With over 250 locations worldwide they need to reinvent the sizes of their burgers to match the price. That might fly in NYC, but in Utah? Either way, go check it out. Giving WF a run for overpriced product.
So we tried Shake Shake in time square and I don’t know if it was the 10 miles we had walked that day but we loved it. So fast forward to yesterday when we tried Shake shack in Sandy Utah. It was just okay. I ran into a friend before our food came out and I asked her what her thoughts were and she hit the nail on the head. She said we have been to shake shack so many other places and your food comes out piping hot, but here it comes out lukewarm, almost room temperature. So because she said this while we were waiting I watched the food and sure enough it sits on the shelf for quite some time before you get it. It makes no sense. We waited in line about 15 minutes. Then we waited for our food for another 10 or 15 minutes and if you are waiting that long why are they not shooting the food out when it is ready. I am guessing they haven’t worked out the kinks. Idk!! Well let’s just say I would much rather go to In & Out and have hot food that taste good. The cheeseburger was ok. The fries were pretty cold and when fries are cold they just aren’t appetizing. I feel that the price was expensive. You can see by my receipt I ordered 2 fries, 4 burgers and 2 drinks. I remember one time in California at In & Out I ordered 7 of us all cheeseburgers, fries and shakes and it was $60. That equals about 8.57 a person and yesterday this amount equals 8.69 a person and we shared fries and drinks. I don’t think I will go back. Been there done that. Next please. I really wanted to like this place but dog Haus has better burgers.
I ordered the SmokeShack with fries, drink, and pie shake. The burger was small in size, but very flavorful and juicy. In hindsight maybe I should have gotten a double patty. The fries were ok, normal crinkle-cut style. The menu is a-la-carte, so no combos, just order what you want. I also ordered the pie shake. The seasonal flavor was peach in vanilla concrete custard. The top had pieces of peach pie, not very flavorful, and the remaining bottom half of the cup was just plain vanilla custard. Outside there is additional seating, ping-pong tables, and cornhole. Everything I ordered cost $20 just for me; Burger, fries, small drink, shake. So definitely way pricey.
The burger was good and I liked the fries. The strawberry shake was pretty bland. If the prices were normal I think I would like it better. Paying $20 for lunch is a bit steep for fast food. Because of that, I will not be going back. Visited at 1:30 on a weekday. Not very busy. Staff was friendly.
Food was very good this time. The service was second rate. It started with eyes rolling at me because i hadnt ever done an app order. I showed order number and she/he scoffed as if i was inept. This location needs to do better with hiring. Why should I have to look at person serving me and feel sorry they exist. Nose ring and tattoos on the their body, is this sanitary?
I've ordered the the Chicken Shack, Shack Burger, Fries, Onion Rings, Strawberry Lemonade, and a Cookies and Cream Shake. I think the chicken is better than the burger, but both are good. They're not very big, so double up if you get a burger. Definitely get the fries over the onion rings. The onion rings are good, but you get about five or six so the value isn't there. I thought the strawberry lemonade was decent, but I wouldn't order again. The cookies and cream shake is the best thing I've had, and I'm glad I don't care for whipped cream so I save $0.50. The service was fine. I used the kiosk to order my food. There are three, and some people in line missed that fact. Don't wait for no reason. When they brought out our food, they forgot my drink, but a quick conversation corrected that quickly. I like that Shake Shack took over the abandoned school lot that used to be here. It makes for a cool use of space, and removes the eyesore that had been here for decades (I'm ignoring that there was an event center here in the interim). Ultimately, my issue is Shake Shack is overrated. The main entrees aren't filling and the sides are expensive without delivering any real value. The shakes are the best thing on the menu (clue is in the name), but it's not enough to bring me in. I show up because my friends enjoy it, but this is never on my list of places to hit up.
Nothing stood out, just another ho hum hamburger restaurant. The food was good, nothong spectacular. There is little atmosphere, obviously a remodeled car repair facility with roll up doors and 2 tvs in each corner. They wanted a tip for me to order my own food off the self serve kiosk, seat myself, get my own drinks. #notipfornoservice ok place to visit, just don't expect fireworks, and a tad on the pricey side for it.
The shakes here are really good. Cookies and cream is where it is at! The burgers were alright. They are small and come with a few items on it or that you can add. Comparatively to other burger joints, this is sub-par. The burger itself has flavor, and that was the best thing about it. $60 (with tip) to feed 3 people is excessive.
We paid $30 for what you see on the pics. I’d say the food is good but not worth the price. The burgers and sandwiches aren’t that big and if you’re really hungry you might not get full. I like the concept of ordering on your own through the screens but asking for a tip at the end is insane. NO ONE even took my order so why should I tip? Had never been to Shake Shack. Glad I went to get the curiosity outta the way. Won’t go again. It’s not better than chick-fil-a or Burger King and the price is insane.
Pretty good burger, pretty good shake, not so good fries. This was my first time at the Shake Shack. It was crowded, but the ordering system kept things moving quickly. The kitchen staff was moving fast and working hard! Overall, though, given the choice between this and In N Out I'd go with In N Out Guys. It's good to know that the meat is organically sourced, though
I have no complaint about the flavor of their food. We purchased the SmokeShack burger, and it was very good. We especially liked the chopped cherry peppers. The cheese fries were also very good. HOWEVER, they are very overpriced. The burger is just too small. If you got a lot of food for that price then this would be a repeat place, but a normal person needs two burgers to be satisfied.
Overpriced but good burgers and such. We figured we’d give it a shot and try it since we like in-n-out and smash burger. I like the simple menu and the quality of the food is pretty good, I’d say it reminds me of five guys. But for the same price or less I would much rather go to The Habit, In-N-Out, or Smashburger.
The food was pretty good. A little pricey for the quality you get though. I would eat here again, if others wanted to go. The shakes were pretty good. I prefer thick shakes, but for being thin shakes, they were pretty good. I got their spicy burger (Smokehouse Burger?), and it was good. Wasn’t a fan of the pickled peppers on it though. Kind of a funky taste. Others in my large group were of the same opinion, thinking the food was good, but a little pricey. My friend got the Chicago Style Hot Dog. He said it was OK, but wouldn’t get it again.
I ate at the Shake Shack today with a friend and I was not impressed. The wait wasn't bad, but the layout wasn't great and ambient noise was a bit too much. The food wasn't exceptional, and not what you expect for an almost $9.00 double burger. The patties were small and thin and the vegetables kind of sad. It tasted good, but it wasn't as good as In&Out burger in my opinion. There wasn't much in the way of condiment on it, so I added mustard and a little mayo from the little packets and pepper from the little paper packets. Overall it seemed really small and the vegetables were positioned so that they would show in the wrapper. I probably won't go back anytime soon.
For an avocado bacon burger and cheese fries I paid almost $13, and they weren’t even that big or that flavorful. If I’m spending that kind of money in lunch I’d rather go somewhere that has better flavor and fills you up, let alone gives you some leftovers for dinner! It was the same size a mini or junior burger from many other places, but almost 2x the price. I’ll try this place again, but I’ll probably stick to somewhere that has better value
Food is mediocre at best. Certainly not a scratch kitchen. Worst thing about shake shack is the lack of hospitality from the kids running the shack. I’ve never been told no more than I was today from the unapologetic kid running cash. Time for management to study the difference between customer service and hospitality. Also speed of service and order accuracy was really sad for the customer load as it took almost 15 mins and they still missed two items in the order as well as sending out wrong sauces and sodas. As a restaurant professional, I understand FULLY the challenges facing restaurants during COVID time, - please don’t use that as an excuse- but this was asinine. Finally price point is way overpriced. I probably won’t be back and won’t be suggesting any of my colleagues to either.
Yeah I will never come back here. The prices are insane! $10 for an under cooked and extremely undersized burger. The cheese fries are also a huge let down you get a super small portion for the price and it's just frozen store bought fries and cheese wiz ... It didn't taste bad but the portion for the price is completely absurd. If they become more realistic in the future I might return and update my review. But unfortunately that meal was undoubtedly NOT worth $50.
I went here for nostalgia purposes, it's kinda weird seeing a shake shack at what used to be a high-school.. outside of of the nostalgia, there was a lot left to be desired. The kiosks were all full, so we ended up ordering at the register, the staff member, though mostly polite, didn't seem to want to be there, was adverse to questions, and made sure to tell us about the tip option before making payment.. The food, when received, was warm, but, that's pretty much where it stopped. There was no sauce on the burger and the fries had a weird mouth-feel. The shakes we got were pretty one note and nothing to write home about. We paid over $40 for two tiny burgers (the size of a kids meal burger at other places), two fries, a small drink, and two small shakes.. For the quality, the price was too high, I can't say that we got the value out of our money- this was the first and last time I'll go there, and appreciate the blast from the past with Valley being turned into a shake shop.
Nothing like Shake Shack in DC. I think they put a chicken nugget on my wife's Chicken Shack sandwich. It was incredibly disappointing. In DC, the Chicken Shack is better than Chick-fil-A. In Utah, most certainly not! I wish I would have taken a photo of her pitiful sandwich at the Utah Shake Shack, but you can compare yours to the one in DC. They were out of vanilla custard, so no Pie Concrete. My fries were good but no where near the same amount of bacon (see photo comparison). We will not be coming back for a long time until we here of vast improvements.
No cheese on my cheese fries! 💔 Just had surgery so I'm not all that mobile, and through all my pain and my bright spot was going to be cheese fries from Shake Shake tonight... But, no, no cheese fries for Tara. We even called, your automated system said you "should" be able to call me back within 24-hours. And if you look at my food from the pics, it doesn't look that great either. The dark brown congealed grease along the box of fries is a nice touch. 🤢
Went to this shake shack for the first time today. I have been to others and had a great experience with them. But this one was sup par. Every single burger we had was raw. We had 4 burgers and they where all cold and uncooked. I understand that sometimes burgers come back medium well to well done but these where raw. I really love shake shack and I was super excited to have this restaurant in my state but this was very disappointing. I called the store but there was no answer. Maybe taking the dive to Vegas to get a burger from shake shack will save you some disappointment
I don't often write reviews for places but I was very underwhelmed by my experience yesterday at this location. You would think that the food is amazing by the lines out the door at this place. The burger was small, the fries looked and tasted like generic fries you'd buy at a grocery store in the frozen food section. The only thing I was thinking about the whole meal was, "I should have just gone to In-N-Out burger down the street." I spent over $11 on a burger, fries, and small drink and was not impressed in the slightest.
No combos. Everything is separate and overpriced. Service was lacking. If you don’t check yourself out at the kiosk, they treat you like you’re making them work overtime taking your order. The fries I will say were great, but not $5 great.
Well this locations food was not very good at all. The hot dogs were dried up. The fries were way too salty. The Dr pepper was pretty good and after that would probably be the chocolate peppermint shake. The seating was uncomfortable and no options to refill your fountain drinks without paying at the front counter for an additional drink. $32.73 for a little bit of food was ridiculous. I would never go back to this location. The Sandy City Utah location is much better than this one. The food there is better and you're able to refill your drinks from the machine yourself. The location in Sandy Utah inside the old school building is much better.
