Cristo's Wood Fired Pizza and Pasta

My friend and I got here to try some Local Italian food (We are from Arizona). This called our attention when were looking for a place to eat. We got here and loved the small place, from the environment, the decorations and the people. When we got here in the evening, there was live music,. We loved the songs he played. We order half-portion pasta and Pizza. We love it. No leftlovers and we decided to get dessert. I have a sweet tooth and was very delightful. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. She was able to answer our questions and recommend us some of our food. I can't ask for more from this place. Overall, Exceptional experience.

First time going after hearing some good reviews... Totally worth it. Amazing food, cool atmosphere, great service.... Can't complain about anything!

My husband and I split the Chicken French and a glass of water — because we’re hydrated and sophisticated… definitely not because we’re broke. Chicken French? 50 Shades of Grey on a plate. The ambiance? Exquisite. Candlelit tables, cozy vibes, and a wine cellar so fancy I could feel my credit score go up just making eye contact. BUT THEN… tragedy reared its ugly head. They. Do. Not. Carry. Boone’s Farm. Nor even a single, majestic box of Franzia Chillable Red Blend (even the name screams, “Now THIS is real “I” talian!”). I asked. The waitress looked at me like I’d farted in church. I nodded and smiled silently into my craft tap water while deep inside I sobbed from a beanbag chair in the bed of an ‘86 Chevy pickup. No Strawberry Hill. No Blue Hawaiian. Not even a dusty “vintage 1999” bottle of Fuzzy Navel . Would I go back? Absolutely. Would I smuggle in Boone’s in a Hydro Flask and strap a Franzia backpack to my spine like a fermented camel? Also absolutely! 10/10 experience all the way around! 100% recommend!

We LOVE Cristo’s! I don’t often eat Italian food out because I come from an Italian family who makes authentic Italian food and I’m usually disappointed - but Cristo’s is amazing! I’ve had their wood fire pizza, their shrimp scampi, their arancini and their calamari - every dish has been incredible! They also have the best espresso martini I’ve ever had (not too sweet), the best homemade bread I’ve ever had (I always take it home!) and a great atmosphere. Definitely make sure this makes your date night list! It is a gem!

Matti and the other bar/waitstaff were amazing. Food was top shelf. Never hate having great leftovers. Pasta(rigatoni) with sausage had great flavor. First NY state meal and didn’t disappoint at all. Thanks so much. I will def be back to try the pizza etc while I’m here the next 6 months.

Fantastic dinner for two! Two entrees, a salad, bottle of wine and panna cotta dessert all for $55. The online ordering system is very up to date and simple to use. Our order was ready exactly at the time of pickup. Can’t wait to visit once the social restrictions are lifted. Take out only for now due to restrictions. Great restaurant.

Cristo's is not your standard pizza joint. The menu reads as if you are eating at a finer dining Italian restaurant with selections such as Pasta con Funghi and Prosciutto with Peas Alfredo. Enough can't be said about their Wood Fired Pizza.

First time here, and the service was great! The pizza was delicious, and the calamari was on point. Thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I had the chicken parm and it was the best I've had. I've dined in cities from N.Y. to L.A. and this was the best. The service was attentive and so accommodating. I can't recommend this place enough.

Had a great meal for our family this evening. Everyone raved about their meal. Chicken parm, homemade gnocci in homemade Alfredo sauce, chicken French with homemade pasta, and a delicious gluten free pizza for myself. The next time we are in the area we will definitely return. Great atmosphere, service, we even lucked out with live music. Loved it.

Off the beaten path Italian restaurant with excellent food, great service, and delicious wine. Prosciutto isn't my favorite, but the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella was amazing. The pizza was also excellent. Our server had been there 5 years and gave great recommendations. The red wine was delicious and paired well with the food.

We usually make a reservation just for convenience. Food and service is always excellent. The atmosphere can change depending on how crowded it is (it can be noisy). Come early or late on the weekends to avoid that. New specials weekly starting Thursday night - usually a homemade pasta, seafood and steak / meat dish. Never had a bad meal and Chris makes the rounds to make sure everything is well - he was especially gracious during the recent difficulties with the A/C system.

We’ve dined in and gotten takeout a number of times now and the food, service and friendliness have always been incredible! Would highly recommend!

We've been here five times and always get something different. Our meals have been nothing short of incredible. Full of flavor, unique combinations, and always excellent service. Would love a few more vegetarian options, but on each visit I have found something to try and was very happy. We tell all of our friends and family to eat here and will be back again soon!

Never been there before but it was jammed. Reservations are a must. Food and service were top notch. You need to go and enjoy

I never give five stars across the board but this one is an absolute winner. The food is great, authentic and fresh. The service by the staff was on point. Prompt and quick in an unobtrusive way. And as far as the atmosphere and dining go, it's well situated and has a cozy old world feel. An excellent experience all around. Would highly recommend!

Wood fire pizza is amazing will definitely be coming back for more great sauce also

We just went here for dinner with my in-laws. I had to delete my review from 2 years ago as it was under different ownership it was not a good review due to service then. This place is fantastic though. The food was great. The service perfect the owner is personable and went to tables and talked to them. My father in law who is a critic of restaurants said he would go back and he lives in Lima. We will 100% be back.

Big thanks to Chef Chris and his team for consistent and satisfying food and drinks! The Meatball appetizer was magnificent along with the Wedge Salad. We couldn't stop eating the house made sauce. Light, tasty, perfectly balanced. Peas and Prosciutto Alfredo for our dinner was generous and delicious. Go on a Wednesday when Marco is playing live music...you don't want to leave because they make you feel right at home!

1st timers. We loved everything. Got in just before the crowd on Friday. Table by the window. Good spacing of tables. Not sitting on top of the other tables. Started with the daily arancini. Lots of rice, light layer of crunchy coating. Fresh, hot, perfect. The house marinara was flavorful, not too sweet, not chunky, We had the margarita pizza with sausage. Again perfect. The house marinara, fresh mozzarella (so stringy), crust great chew with a few oven char spots added to the great taste. We were so full, but had to try the cannoli. Got an order to go. My wife said they were the best she ever had. And these cannolis were twice the size of the norm. They have a large selection of all your favorite Italian dishes. We will be back. Pricing very reasonable. Service excellent. Attentive even given the place was packed.

Update 8/2/25 I can never say enough great things about this restaurant, it's so warm and inviting and the food is just fantastic! Had a fantastic chicken farm tonight with a delicious bowl of alfredo. My wife, toddler and I shared a large salad and the chicken parm with pasta and we still took some home! That's a $40 check for a family of three! They serve you some absolutely delicious bread which you can opt for butter or a nice mix of olive oil seasonings and cheese. The best part really is the atmosphere and that the hosts are so gracious. Everything about giving it a shot stop thinking and go for it n Update 6/6 Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here tonight! We have been coming here pretty much since they opened and have enjoyed almost everything that we've ever had! They definitely make you feel so welcome in their hospitality less fantastic tonight! They truly expressed joy in our celebration. Thank you Cristos! ***** So my entire review was just wiped when I accidentally hit the back button so I'll go enjoy the highlights. This is our second visit in a row where everything was flawless and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The arincini and wedge salad were fresh and flavorful and the chicken parm filled out hearts and tummies. Service was great and the owner/manager even stopped to make sure we were having a good time and remembered part of our order from previous visits. This place is as great for a date night as it is for family dinner or out of town guests. Let's keep a local gem alive, come eat some yummy food!!

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cristos tonight. Our first time here to celebrate a birthday dinner. The atmosphere is very warm and cozy. Everyone was welcoming and provided the perfect amount of attentiveness. We started with yummy meatballs with ricotta for our appetizer. For dinner enjoyed two of the wood fired pizzas, chicken parmesan, Caesar salad with steak. Everything was delicious. We had best waitress who was not only friendly but provided top notch service . Best pizza I’ve had in Rochester. The dough is delicious and the mushrooms & veggies on my pizza was top quality. Great salad too! The staff has always been so nice and friendly both on the phone and in person.

Another great meal at Cristos! Came in without a reservation, Missy and Chris fit us in, thank you! My wife loves the espresso martini and gluten-free pizza or pasta. All selections are delicious.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. It tends to be busy, so I recommend making a reservation, which you can do online. The food is delicious and there's a different special every night. I highly recommend the pizza and any steak special they offer!! But, really, every dish we've tried has been excellent!

I contacted the restaurant on extremely short notice in an effort to organize a funeral dinner. Chris and Missy immediately responded and said “No problem”. They put together a dinner party for 50 people and gave us the entire restaurant on a Sunday evening. We worked out a fantastic menu, including appetizers. The food was incredible with plenty leftover. Everything was served in a timely fashion in stages. We could not be happier with the results and the service. I would recommend Christos to anyone for either dinner or a private party. Top notch all the way.

We were in the area car shopping. It got late and still had a 2 plus hour drive back home so we were looking for something quick to eat before getting on the road back home. We found Cristo’s and were excited for the wood fired pizza. They had live music playing which is nice and was well done but it did make it difficult to talk to each other. We ordered a simple cheese pizza to share, and an espresso martini each. They pizza was delicious and the drinks were pretty good. Prices were a little higher than usual for the size of the pizza but it was tasty so we didn’t complain. Pizza was finished quickly and off we went. So I do recommend it as the food and drinks were delicious but just be prepared for higher than typical pizza prices.

We called and asked if they could accommodate take out for 50 with 2 hrs notice. The manager talked me though what they could do and was so awesome and accommodating considering the very short turn around. Food was delicious and done when promised for a very reasonable price. Thank you so much!! All the kids loved it!

Our first visit there, we stopped in a few months ago it was 730, they said they had been dead all night and were closing so refused us. So I'm glad we decided to give this place a second chance! (thanks to a get my perks) we got a bottle of wine, appetizers, two entrées and a dessert! Everything was fantastic. Will definitely be going back. Also on Wednesdays they have a piano player!

Small, moderate to expensive Italian restaurant. We went early on a Sunday, around 5pm, they had opened at 4pm. Place only had a couple of other tables filled when we arrived. We were asked if we had reservations, we did not. We were waited on immediately. A carafe of water and sliced bread was served first. Dipping oil and spices were on the table along with bread plates. Full bar was available. We ordered a bottle of red wine at $38, cheapest red was $32. After seeing a nearby table receiving their pizza, we decided to order one, $17, plus a small Ceasar's salad to share, $7, and Chicken Marsala, $22. All sides were ala carte. The small salad was enough to share. Their anchovies were premium quality, served on the side for an extra $3. The pizza was delicious as was the chicken marsala. We ordered a sliced homemade chocolate cake to go for dessert. It was very moist, rich and yummy! The restaurant is small in size with 6 bar seats available along with full table service, clean but not fancy. Tables are close together and view is of front parking lot.

Very solid food. Had the prime rib pizza and the Sicilian Calamari. Social distancing is practiced and it's a nice vibrant atmosphere with great music.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Rochester! The food and mixed drinks have always been exceptional, and the quality is consistently great. We love it so much that we often buy gift cards for family and friends—it’s always a hit. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars for service and atmosphere is because there are times it feels a bit understaffed, which can slow things down. Also, while the live music is a great touch and adds to the vibe, it can occasionally make conversation a bit challenging. Still, it's a spot we always look forward to visiting and recommending!

The food is always delicious and prices are usually reasonable. However, we ordered the scallop special and when we got the bill, the price for 5 or 6 scallops and risotto was $55.00. They were delicious, but we would never have ordered this special had we been told the price, which is extremely high compared to other restaurants.

Called to order a pizza for pick up, got put on hold for 3 minutes, I finally hung up and then the line was busy for the next few minutes when trying to call back. Gave up, went online ordered a rustic pizza. Get there, not too busy, quickly assisted by server who got my pizza. Ingredients were good just very disappointed in the burnt crust. Hopefully this was just a series of unfortunate events and next time will be worth the $22.

Had really good tasting food and appetizers. Wished the inside had better tables for dining. 1 family style table looked nice, but it was the only one.

After reading all of the great reviews, we decided to visit Cristo's on a recent Saturday evening. We were the only customers there when we arrived sometime before 5 PM. We were seated immediately with menus. After reviewing the menu selections, our server returned and took our orders of Chicken Marsala and a two topping pizza. The restaurant seating is a mix of mostly 2, 4, or 6-seat tables with some additional seating at the bar, which is also located in the dining room. Our meals were served up hot approximately 15 minutes later. By that time, the restaurant had started to fill up with customers. Both of our meals looked delicious but, after tasting the Chicken Marsala and the pizza, we realized that both dishes were a huge disappointment. The sauce on the pizza dominated the rest of the ingredients as neither the toppings nor crust had much of any flavor. The chicken in the Chicken Marsala had very little taste as well, and the sauce was just a watery mess that the pasta sat in. The service was good but not outstanding. Both meals with beverages totaled a bit under $55 plus tax. Based on our very disappointing first visit here, it's not likely that we'll return. Thanks for reading.

Lets me clear one thing - i love the food here. My friends also agreed they they love the food here. There is no doubt on food. One thing i dislike is the waitress’s attitude. We understood that we came during there were birthday party and other long tables served. But we wont accept when we have been waiting for 35 minutes and we gently asked the waitress “can you please check our food?” And here is her response “Didnt you see that we have a long table and big party?” We got it! We saw it when we stepped into the restaurant but we have been still waiting. We wondered if it is acceptable when the waitress responded to us like that. A restaurant should be defined as a good one by combining both food and services. Just disappointed on the waitress’s attitude!
