Beautiful restaurant on the Riverwalk. I love the decor from the front dest all the way to the outside seating area. Love the colored lights every where. The bar is also awesome. Service is great! Food is good. Great place to dine and drink into the night.

I didn't take the best of pics because the good was just so good! Get the Tripleta! It's a pulled pork that's marinated instead of sauced. So delicious, way too filling, the portion was literally a quarter of a loaf of bread! Will be back soon! If you can ask for Javier, an amazing and attentive server! *Additionally I came back in less than a week and I had the Beef Empanadas, ridiculously good!

Waited in the front to be tended to for about 5 minutes since there was no hostess. The bartender came up to us with a dry attitude and offered us to sit at the bar. Came here for dinner having reserved ahead of time and we still had to wait 30 for a table. Waited at the bar and had a drink in the meantime, the strawberry margarita on the rocks was ok. Once we were seated the waitress took our order and was very pleasant. The food was good no complaints there.

Great experience from my family on a visit to Rochester over the weekend. While we were 1 of only 3-4 tables of people in the restaurant, it took VERY long to get serviced. It was over an hour and a half before we got appetizers. Albeit we had a party of 10. The food was delicious and being right next to the water meant the atmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely check it out next time I’m in town.

This was our first time at 809. The food was great and presented well. My two complaints are parking was tight and our waitress was also the hostess, which made for slow service at first. My recommendation is to have the fried red snapper with beans and rice, mofongo as the appetizer. Another is the garlic salmon with beans and rice and tostones. Oh, my goodness!

The wait was ridiculously long. Told 10 minutes then 20 minutes. It was 45 minutes! I ordered a drink from the bar while waiting that never was made. Come to find out they weren't making Martinis tonight. I asked for a mojito and sorry no we are out of mint. Of course a little heated once we got seated the waitress Melanie diffused the situation perfectly with her lovely demeanor, attitude and kindness. And the great food made up for it. Thank you Melanie!

Today is August 26th and I attended a celebration dinner with my cousin in law Danny at 809 Bar & Restaurant. The place looks amazing and you get to the chefs working away hard. The atmosphere is A1. Sitting along side the Genesee River you have a gorgeous view of the water and our iconic Bridge. The service was great the waitress was very attentive and provided great service to our group of 13 people. They keep you refreshed with water and beverages of your choice we also serve you with a lovely loaf of bread with the oil based Italian seasoning (taste great in my opinion). The Birthday boy ordered the Tomahawk Steak which is $149. 99 while I didn't ask him how was his food he seem to eat it all. I myself order the Skirt Steak and Lobster with a side of mashed potatoes. The lobster was very good but the stake was average in my opinion. Potatoes lacked flavor. Over all I give the place a 3 out of 5.

This is my second time in 2 years dinning at this establishment. Both times were for birthday celebrations. The wait to sit BOTH TIMES was approximately an hour and we had reservations with the majority of the party arriving on time. The seating was just there waiting for us to occupy but we were told that the staff was getting ready. With a 6:30 reservation that wasn’t accommodating until 7:30. THEN….. more waiting. We finally ordered well one half of the 24 guest order was taken while the other half had no clue that we ordered. Food finally arrived around 9pm only to find that they ran out of items that we ordered and replaced them with items of their choice. I simply had mine packed up to go, I was not very hungry after watching several orders be bagged and carried out for online orders. I won’t be back 2xs a charm…. Can’t fool me 3 times!!!

Placed an online order to pick up at 5:10pm. It is 6:41pm and we just BARELY got our food. In addition, when they marked it to us as ready for pickup, we had to wait an insane amount of time because they marked it as ready but it was not. The food was cold, they didn’t provide any cutlery, sauces that would come with the order. Also, I ordered a Mofongo, and I got some mushy plantains with some cut-up pieces of pork chops. When I went to make the claim in person, the cook came, out of nowhere, to say that the order was not late, and, after I showed it to the manager, she came and she looked rather embarrassed. Overall, terrible. Rather go to D’Mangú next time, where there is true quality and better bang for your buck.
