Tonight was the 3rd night I’ve gotten food from here and it never disappoints. I don’t live in the area but whenever i’m in Rochester, I always stop here to eat. The Chicken Cobb Salad is hands down the best salad i’ve ever had in my life. I crave it all the time and wish I lived closer so I could get it more often. Huge portions, great prices, and it’s just bursting with flavor. I’d give this a hundred stars if i could. Staff is always pleasant and friendly, the restaurant is clean and your order is done fast. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I ordered a Steak Sub and Fries through Door Dash. My food was delivered promptly and a team member name Keem made my Steak Sub! This sub was hot and delicious! My fries were too! Shocked by some of the poor reviews on here. This place has amazing, delicious subs, fresh baked rolls, and is a great value considering the size and amount of meat/toppings they cram into each one. There’s even a rewards program to make it more worth your while - in case buying a giant sub that would stuff 2 people to absolutely groaning for $12.50 isn’t enough of a deal. The workers are younger, but always polite and friendly, and I love their energy. Inside is clean and charmingly decorated. They have a great set up during the pandemic with some outdoor seating, spaced tables, and a giant hand sanitizer dispenser to greet you at the door. Ordering online is easy if you want your food ready when you get there. Because it does take a little time for them to grill some of the hot subs in particular, which they do fresh to order. We’ve been coming here for years and they’ve remained consistently excellent. And after having lived and traveled all over, including NJ/NYC, Boston/PVD, and Philly, we have yet to find a better sub shop, or to bring a friend or family member here who feels differently.

I went to Pellegrino's today and it exceeded my expectations. Everyone was really friendly and the food came out fast. Everything tasted marvelous. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken hot sub and the person I came with ordered the Grilled Ruben hot sub. I tried their sub as well and I can't decided which one I like better. Both were so tasty. Definitely coming again for lunch or dinner and I would totally recommend this place to friends!

Really enjoyed my chicken salad sub today, roll was fresh and chicken was also. Love their homemade chips - they're a thick cut style and so fun to crunch into. Perhaps not the cheapest place, but my medium sub was huge - 2 meals worth! Service was very friendly.

Friday afternoon team leader is a great guy. Solid customer service here, which is falling off in so many delis and fast food places these days. Their ordering system is top notch and plenty of options. Most importantly, good and consistent quality. Hat's off to owners.

We stopped in on Thursday, October 26 around 630. The staff working were fabulous. The food was five star all the way. The meat and french fries and hot sauce were perfect.

I love their hot subs and they have a discount/deal for University of Rochester employees and students. I prefer them over DiBella's. I find that their hot subs are tastier. They rotate their soup menu so it's always good to call for the soup of the day. Too bad they don't list what the soup of the day is on the website when you're ordering.

A few coworkers and I ordered online and I went to pick it up. It was easy to navigate through their online ordering process. We have ordered a few times before but we usually call the ordered in. When I arrived to pick up the food it looked like they recently installed two tablets for patrons to place their own orders that will accept card payment only. I thought that was a nice touch to keep lines moving during busy times.

Late this week I came in and Glorimar waited on me. For most of my frequent lunch stops, Glorimar has been the server. She is always pleasant and provides exceptional service! I can’t get enough of the chicken salad subs with a side of mac salad. The house kettle chips are also delicious! Too bad there’s only one location. Pellegrino’s has both great food and service, that’s why I’ll keep coming back!

One of my favorite places for lunch during the week. Always friendly people behind the counter and most of them know me by name. The food is excellent and my orders have always been exactly as I requested. Well worth a stop for lunch or dinner. Sometimes I take mine to go and head over to Highland Park or Mt. Hope Cemetery to sit and eat on a nice day.

Again, this place was recommended by a friend from the area. When I walked in with a couple at the same time, they ordered with the cashier and I ordered at the kiosk. The kiosk was easy to manage. The staff wasn't friendly at all. No smiles or thank you. I also noticed some tables were dirty and an associate was in a booth watching something on her phone. I don't think she was on break because everything she had no customers she would do that.

I loved this place! I visited thid place with my boyfriend while pokemon hunting one Saturday afternoon. Neither one of use tried their baked goods, but my boyfriend had an Americano and I had a blueberry-pomegranate tea smoothie. Very delicious, and the barista gave great suggestions and was very pleasent!

They have the best subs. Bread is always fresh, they make their stubs the way you want right in front of you. And then you go and sit in the diner, they have TVs where you can watch sports, or the news. Clean and friendly.

This place makes great hot subs. They don't make food very fast but that's okay because they taste great. Often have specials and available coupons if you're looking to save some money.

Our food was delicious and the guy who took our order was great. There was confusion between the person who made my food and the person who made my husband's so our order sat there for some time before being handed out but besides that it was great and we will definitely return.

Nice place with a surprising amount of parking. I've tried a few thing on the menu, all buffalo chicken related and have not disappointed by any of them. The prices are as to be expected from a sub shop like this, and the service is good. It takes a bit longer than I'd like to get through the line, but that's not the fault of the kitchen staff surprisingly enough, it due to the single person handling online/phone orders pickups and cashing out dine in customers. This was my first visit to Pellegrino's on Monroe Ave. I was invited by a friend to meet for lunch. The woman who took my order was quite emotionless. I do not think she smiled, although she was not unfriendly. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich. The pork in its sauce was delicious. I would order it again, we're it not for the bread, which was a bit tough for my liking. It was difficult to cut with my teeth and the pork kept squeezing off the sandwich when I took a bite. I probably will not refuse to eat here again, however I am not in any hurry to do so. There are better sub shops in Rochester.

Decent place to eat with huge subs. I always order the turkey avocado sub with jalapenos and it is great. Of course i try other subs that are good but they even have wraps, protein bowls, fries, chips, drinks...etc. The staff is on par with speed and isn't usually as busy as a normal restaurant. Could use cushioning in the hard wooden seating. It's also near a historical cemetery where you could check out after eating at this humble eatery.

So far the best and biggest Cuban sandwich I've ever eaten, however my wife says her steak sandwich was too spicy and her heartburn started kicking back. To me the food was good.

Great food if you know what to order, especially hot subs. Try the grass subs and don't be a afraid to add to them. Take advantage of the toppings they have available, most of them you can add to any sub free of charge. Also any sub can become a wrap.

I stopped by Peligrinos for the first time the other day and was actually really impressed with the variety of options you are greeted with. I got a bacon cheeseburger that comes served on loaf style home made bread. It was different and absolutely fantastic. Their fries were very unique, and some of the crunches, most appetizing fries I have had in a long time.

The food was fine, but the ordering process was ridiculous and service was slow. We spent $44 for 3 sandwiches, 3 drinks, a bag of chips and a side of mac salad.

Subs aren’t great. Meat and toppings are scant. Cheese is very poor quality. Mine was soft and warm on my cold sub. Disappointed as it is supposed to be a sub shop.

Pretty good subs but you get a Dixie cup of a soda for over 2 dollars. Guy that made my sub had a nasty scraggly goatee with no beard net. Girl behind the counter was scrolling through instagram. 22 dollars for 2 medium subs and 2 tiny sodas is a little pricy compared to other local sub shops.

I order ya medium steak with light whatever they mix or cook it with because it is too salty for me. I got home and the sub was peppery and still salty, no tomatoes and lettuce anywhere on the sub. I was ver disappointed ☹️. I have never gotten a steak from them that didn’t taste well.

Usually this place is a home run. Today, not so much. I placed my order, the bill came to $10.35 so I gave him $11, he closed the drawer, and as he walked away and said your order will be up in 10 minutes. Sure, you can keep the change, thanks for asking. As always my sub is ready much quicker than they say it will be, but it had tomato on it. I asked for no tomatoes, I am unable to eat them. They made me another sub, and this time they left off the mayo. I was the only customer in the building. Maybe they lost all of their good help during Covid shutdowns. Maybe it was just an off day. I usually have really good food and service.

They could try to clean the tables between guests more often as most of them were dirty, and still had cups and wrappers from previous guests. Its been a few years since I've visited this restaurant but it seems it wasn't with returning for high prices, dirty dining tables

I thought they still had the bowls here listed on the menu, so I was disappointed that they didn’t have them. So I decided to buy a steeply priced salad. Definitely not worth it. There were hunks of romaine stalk in the salad (inedible) and the leaves were wilted that made up the rest of the bowl. The taste was subpar although they did load it up with chicken. The staff was nice but good wise... Probably won’t come here again, not worth it in my opinion.

For the portion served versus the cost, we were disappointed. The cost of a large hot sub with chips and a regular fountain drink is around $17-$18 dollars per person. I understand that minimum wage has increased, and there is a new POS system in place (likely in an effort to keep up with Panera or reduce overhead costs ), but customers expect more with increased charges. The medium sub is basically half a large coming in at $8.49, and it's small at best. Three stars were given based on the customer service and taste of the sub. I've loved the subs for hears, but I don't think I can afford to eat here anymore. Best wishes!

Don't get me wrong, the steak subs are excellent but the prices and portions are extremely poor. For one large steak sub they want about $22 so I got a medium instead. Unfortunately the bread for a medium looked like a hot dog roll. I use to go there all the time but with their prices and inflation not so much. It's a shame really.

I called to place an order and was told that there was another order that was being worked on and to place my order online. This is not the first time I have been pressured to order online. He said that I would have to hold them. 17 minutes later I reached a spot where I could pull over and ordered online. I am from out of town and was driving. He claims to be General Manager and when I asked for his name the person that rung me out refused because he could tell that the treatment was not right. The name in my receipt is Jynaree. He refused to apologize for leaving me on hold and even said no one told you to wait???? Unbelievable the other staff just stood there. This is obviously normal for him. Totally unacceptable and I need to know how this will be addressed. Owner Peter only replies to 5 star reviews so I’m sure this employee will probably get away with this. Updated: Owner Peter, reached out and addressed my concerns with the service. This owner seems to truly care about the customers that patronize their business and that says a lot. While my service experience was terrible, his efforts have gone above and beyond to repair my trust.

This has been a go to for comfort food. The soup was chicken &vegetables. However I did have to ask for the chicken for the chicken & vegetable soup. The sub was roc steak sub.The cashier he was very helpful and the younger gentleman was even more helpful. The young lady with braids however.was rude keep her headphones in and stated clear as day she's not there to help anyone 😒 (retrain,or stay home darlin)

Every time I go here its a disappointment. Its close to my work and they have some healthy salads and quinoa bowls on the menu which seem good but usually are horrible. Today I ordered a kale and chicken salad, most of the greens were wilted and the mushrooms were way too old and starting to smell weird. Everything is over seasoned. Last time I ordered the pesto kale quinoa power bowl thing and it was just swimming in pesto. I couldn't even eat it!!! Really need to start paying attention to the freshness of your produce and the amount of dressing/seasoning that's on the food. You guys have the potential to be a good restaurant but there are many areas that need improvement!!!

The Philly steak sub was very bland, kind of dry, no steak flavor & needed salt. Plus not enough steak to fill the roll! I keep expecting this great steak sub each time I go there and always end up disappointed. Perhaps it depends on who's cooking that day. They used to have a meat sauce to go on the steak sub but no longer offer it. If you read the reviews of this place you will notice that Pellegrino's--and I am assuming either the owner or the manager-- will always respond to 5 Star reviews. I have never seen them respond to a 2 or 3 star review where they have corrected mistakes, admitted to change something or apologized to customers. Even 1 reviewer said his wife got "spoiled turkey" on her sub. I would hsve reported them to the Monroe County Health Dept. Spoiled deli meat like that can cause a serious bacterial infection known as listeria! If the sub had been ordered at Wegmans, and you called them with your complaint, the Deli Manager would have requested that you come back in at your convenience, ask for him or her to get your free sub. The difference between Pellegrino's small-minded view of customers and Wegmans long-term view is that Wegmans sees you as a customer for life. Pellegrino's only sees you as a customer for that moment and could care less if the food and service met your expectations.

Ordered 100 bucks worth of grubhub. Forgot a whole sub. Buffalo chicken salad came with caesar dressing not blue cheese. Fresh greens were actually a spring mix. No napkins or silverware. Wont order from there again.

Food was good. Staff was not. No one said anything to us when we walked in for a few minutes, so we ordered via the self order tablets. We still had to get a staffer so they would get us our drinks. She was less than pleased, she made is feel like an inconvenience. Seriously lacking in people skills. We went on a Sunday about 1 pm. It wasn't busy. I don't plan to go back anytime soon. It will be awhile before I try again hoping for better service.

Sad. This place has not been up kept and prices are ridiculous for the size of the item. Employees here are excellent and gave great service. However there were hardly any employees, so a long wait with no line and dirty tables/ stools. As a former restaurant employee, the state of the restaurant shows the owner's corporate callousness. It's obvious that the employer cares more about profit, than his staff or the public.

Very bad experience tonight. Nothing like I am used to from this establishment. I have visited this place before and tonight (6/27/2018 @ 7:28PM) it seems like Moe, Larry, curly and a hemp were running this place. With 12 people in the place the manager attempting to convince me that they were experiencing a rush. They kept tagging my items after I continuously informed them I am eating in house. Not even an apology. Presented a bag at me again after I already told them IN HOUSE. Then proceeded to place the bag on a paper plate. REDICULOUS!!!

Went in with a 20% off coupon that I got from the Lilac Festival Parking. Coupon wasn't expired and says 20% off order, up to $20 off entire order. I try to order and say I have the coupon and am told I need to order at least $20 worth of food to use the coupon, per the owners. Coupon doesn't say that anywhere, so I couldn't get one sub and use the coupon, which is a shame because their subs are delicious.

Ordered 3 medium Subs for pick up and only got 2 so we asked why is there only 2 and they responded the buffalo chicken sub was a large cut in half which is 2 mediums so we got home and all we got was 2 medium buffalo chicken Subs and my cheesesteak was missing so I called and they are remaking it for me to pick up but I'm super frustrated that we were misinformed when we asked why there were only 2 Subs and that I have to go back up and get the rest of my order and the girl behind the counter was EXTREMELY RUDE and said "you shouldve had someone else come back and pick it up" The food is amazing but the service SUCKS! And I will not go back to this location because of how rude this girl was to my husband.

I used to go to Pellegrino's on a weekly basis back in the early 2000s. A work trip gave me the opportunity to visit my old RIT haunts. I was excited to visit Pellegrino's again and I was extremely disappointed. The quality of food had decreased. The meat and cheese wasn't as generous as it was in the past. Fries also didn't taste fresh. Bread was good though.

Overated. $16 for a steak and cheese. Very little Steak Meat. Bread was hard and stale. Subway's footlong Steak sub is much better, more fixings, at about 1/2 the price.

I placed an order through GrubHub at 7:22pm. At 8:22pm, the app stated my order was "Still in the works" even though Pellegrino's closed at 8:00pm; so, I called GrubHub's customer service and she stated that no one answered when she called the restaurant. I'm so glad that I waited an hour just to be told that the Pellegrino's staff decided to stop making orders 45 minutes before they were supposed to close.

I used to like their subs until now. They stopped selling shredded cheddar cheese and the bread cut the top of my mouth open. It was bleeding for like a day or two and the pain lasted for a week. Never getting food here again.

I didn't care for the Roc steak sub! The meat was dry as well as the bread! I was missing three add ons also mayo mushrooms and hot sauce! That really sucks when your at work starving lol!

I've never tried Pellegrino's so I thought it would of been a great idea to enjoy my lunch break over good food. The place smelled amazing and I was excited to order. I looked over the menu and was ready to order within 5 minutes. I stood there ready to order about 10 minutes and still no greeting or acknowledgement. A young man finally asked if I had ordered and told me he would be right with me. No problem. An older woman soon after had her order taken...no problem...age before beauty...then another woman had her order taken, Im assuming they forgot I was still there. My break time is limited, I was hungry, and now hangry. Im not sure what happened there. So I left and went to Cam's pizza, where I ordered a delicious steak sub to die for. I was in and out within 10 minutes and the staff were amazing. Moral of the story...NEVER make a spontaneous trip to Pellegrino's. You'll leave disappointed and hangry after waiting patiently. -First and last time customer

My husband ordered a chicken philly last night, called back and ordered a 2nd one. The person that took the order asked him if he wanted it the same way and he said yes. Picked up the order and we had 2 steak Phillies. Called and asked for the manager...guy who's name began with a J claimed to be the manager. I explained the issue and instead of resolving the matter or trying to hear me out...he immediately got defensive and told me that HE took the order and demanded that my husband said STEAK!! The man HATES steak subs!! He also told me he was perfect and doesn't make mistakes although the SAME thing happened a few weeks prior when I placed a order with him. I used to enjoy going here for subs but the bread has changed and less meat. After this rude experience, I'll take my business somewhere else...call SALVATORES!!

Ordered a chicken Greek salad and all I got was a bowl full of lettuce half a piece of chicken that was shredded and paid for extra chicken and stale croutons. Spoke with the manager and he told me that he can't credit me or refund me. I have to bring it back in with the receipt and they'll remake it. This was my first time ever having a problem with them. I don't think I'll be going back there.

I stopped going there because they have a really poor staff there. Today I decided to give them another chance so I Ordered a steak sub with lettuce, tomato, onions, mayonnaise. I pick up my sub get back to the office an I have a chicken sub with peppers, this is the second time it’s happened to me. I’m done with this place. I suggest you check your orders before leaving, because people working there could care less.

I ordered a sub, did not get what I ordered. When I called back they had me on hold for 10 min. They said they could not talk to me because they were busy. They were not busy when I gave my money and gave me the wrong order. I work in a profession that deals with customer service and I pride myself on the service I provide. I felt completely disrespected as a consumer and after they took my money they didn’t care enough to correct the situation even after I tried to call to just get my order correct. I will never recommend to order from them again unless you are willing to just give away free money and not get what you were looking to eat. No matter how busy you are you should always have time to make sure your paying consumers are happy. Completely disappointed in the service I received today and sad to say I will never return.

2nd time this year I placed an order and something was missing from my sub. I'm on lunch and can't go back and they aren't answering the phone. I ordered the club but with Provolone cheese only to get back to work and theres no cheese on my sub smh

First time there, last time there! If you don't have cash, forced to use a a computer screen. It is not very user friendly. Have to enter cell phone number and they text you when order is ready.What happens if you don't have a cell phone? After 20 minutes. No text, went to counter to ask for the one sub that I ordered. Almost 45 minutes later I got the text that order was ready. I was already done eating. And by the way. Its too loud and echos inside. Never again, not even if they offered me free food!

Went to pick my food I order online and the staff was rude. Because of their rudeness I will take my business somewhere else. I was standing waiting for someone to acknowledge me. Then the employee was rude when asked for my food. The lady that cash me didn't say anything just put food on table ans her eyes. Terrible customer service.

The food was pretty good.. That is not my concern during this review, my concern is how we were RUSHED out while we were eating because they were closing. Like anyone who has been to a restaurant, you know that you should be able to finish your meal if you come in BEFORE they close with no issue. That was not the case at this establishment.. My family and I came around 7:30pm, and they close at 8. A older couple came in a little after us, when the server brought them their food he said “ it’s 7:54, we close at 8 just to let you know.” If that was the case he should of told them before they ordered that they were only doing carry out instead of letting them think they could sit. He proceeded to turn off the music, repetitively state that they are now closed, and turn the lights off before we were even out of the door and while the couple was still in their seats.. I guess he couldn’t bare 5 more minutes

Ordered a chicken philly, meatball sub and a bowl of chicken soup. Chicken in the soup and on the chicken philly was simply the driest meat I have ever had. Tasted as if it had been cooked days ago and possibly reheated. Meatballs were flavorless and sauce basically screamed that it was from a can. Will not be back. Food was absolutely terrible all the way around. Management did respond with offer to mail me a gift card but will not be taking them up on that. Full refund would be only remedy I would be interested in as food was really that poor that day. Will not be back to Pellegrino’s.

Didn't have a chance to try the food. I just wanted something that was vegetarian and hot. Music was overwhelmingly loud but I was hungry. Tried to order at the self serve touchscreen. Maybe there's a register with a cashier I didn't see. Anyway, that's fast food behavior. Nothing in my diet was available hot except fries, so I figured I'd try the cold veggie sub. But wait! There's a limit on how many vegetables you're allowed to order.... on a veggie sandwich....on a $11 veggie sandwich... so I chose between mushrooms and bell peppers. Whatever. But then the chef or cook starts drumming with the spatula. Really loud metal banging just on the other side of the wall in an already loud (and empty) dining room. That was enough for me.

I have sent several emails regarding the issue I had it’s been several months and no response, the men cooking are great but people like Jaime who makes mistakes and get nasty with you and when you complain to the manager they won’t make you a new sub they want you to purchase a new sub and they take off 25 percent! I am a caseworker for the State I have purchased as many as 10 subs or more at 1 time for coworkers lunches during lunch .over the last year when I have purchased 1 or 2 subs where the problems exist, they put wrong items on the subs but want you to repurchase a new sub? I will not be back this place has poor customer service and management

THE SERVICE HERE SUCKS sat around for 10 minutes not one greeting from a staff member. every staff member they had available was making sandwiches they had no one greeting customers or at the front register “not even a well be right with you” the one employee i did speak to was very rude and dismissive i placed a pick up order and in the time it took for them to respond my food was like warm i wish i could give 0 stars because its like this every time i go in i wont be returning
