Un posto davvero delizioso nel cuore di Monti. Il locale è molto carino e curato, perfetto per una cena rilassata. Il personale è gentile e accogliente, con camerieri preparati e attenti che sanno consigliare bene. La carbonara è semplicemente fantastica, cremosa e saporita, e le crocchette sono una vera goduria. Chiusura in bellezza con un tiramisù spettacolare, probabilmente il migliore che abbia mai mangiato. Assolutamente consigliato, tornerò di sicuro.

Very good pasta, fresh and homemade. Had the amatriciana and carbonara. Both were just perfect 👌 and the bruschetta with burratta, yum! The food server was also very warm and friendly. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience. Unfortunately, I had no room for dessert. Hopefully, I will go back as the tiramisu looked really good.

There are two indoor seating areas that are not connected, and sometimes only one side will be operating. If you see lights are off, check the other seating area just about a door or two down the path. My wife and I went to the wrong area and nearly left thinking it was closed. Thankfully we persisted and I didn't have a single regret having our meal here. We knew we had to try some Cacio e Pepe and Carbonara in Rome, and a local recommended us to this humble restaurant. We had the tonnarelli cacio e pepe, and the carbonara as well. Best I've ever tasted. The pasta was springy and well coated with absolute deliciousness. The creaminess in both dishes was thick and burst with intense flavour; the overall structure of each dish was held together so well. My wife saw me me several times shamelessly sitting there awestruck. The tiramisu was also one of the best I've ever had. The body of the tiramisu was creamy and yet had integrity; it certainly did not feel like I was scooping through something loose and collapsible. Flavour-wise it goes without saying that this dessert had the right balance and did not leave me feeling guilty. I still dream of having more meals here. It's not that I will be back; I simply WANT to be back.

We went to Osteria Oliva based on a recommendation by our hotel clerk. She said it was one of her favorite places to visit. We didn’t have any solid plans, so when she offered to call and make a lunch reservation, we readily accepted her suggestion. Located just down the street from Trevi Fountain, and about a half mile from the Colosseum, this broke our rules for attending a restaurant in a tourist dense area. But, when we arrived, we were confident we were on the right track. Service was slow, but we were on vacation, and why not chill for a while, enjoy some wine, and let Rome happen in its own timeline. Speaking of wine, my wife ordered the house white, and I chose the Peroni draft beer. Both were excellent choices! Peroni is pretty much the draft of choice in Rome, but it’s a decent light beer, so no worries! I ordered the meatballs with green sauce, and my bride ordered lasagna. We settled in to enjoy our shady, street-side table and savored our drinks, occasionally glancing over to see if the Colosseum was still on the horizon. When our meal was served, we knew beyond doubt that we’d made a solid decision. The lasagna was great and fully enjoyable, but the star of the show was the meatballs with salsa verde (not chili salsa, but pesto). OMG! How do I love thee? I’ll try to describe what we experienced. But, I’ll fail. So, it was a deep fried roast beef meatball that was held together by slices of heaven. The salsa verde (green sauce) was magnificent. It was paired with what I think was a hybrid olive oil infused with both honey and vinegar, and it was delightfully tangy and sweet, and mercy me, I need to figure out how to make it at home, ‘cause I can’t afford to live in Rome, but I don’t want to live without that garnish! If you’re anywhere near Osteria Oliva, stop what you’re doing and drop by to experience these meatballs! The pasta here is simply amazing!!! After getting some average pasta at another restaurant ( which was rated one of the best on Tripadvisor!!) we thought that we would try the Osteria Olivia. We saw other customers food and had to come here. We were not disappointed. The pasta that I ordered was a 10/10 and hand down the best I have had in my life so far! The service was amazing and they were really friendly and accommodating. This is definitely a stop for the family when we come back to Rome.

Located near the Monti neighborhood of Rome the location and restaurant itself is beautiful, wonderfully decorated and inviting, even the table wear was beautiful. I've been here twice. My first time, the carbonara was fantastic and the service was good. My 2nd time going, the waiter served me cold cacio e pepe (still ate it as I was starving), then reminded me three times that he wanted a cash tip, as if I didn't understand English. Needless to say I got pretty irritated and did not tip. I will not be going back. There is better service at other restaurants.

Disappointing Experience - Won’t Return As a family that travels frequently and has dined at several restaurants in Rome during our current trip, we had high expectations based on the positive reviews. While the booking process was straightforward, the experience fell short from the moment we arrived. Upon being seated, we were immediately informed we had only 90 minutes before having to vacate the table at 9 PM - information that was never mentioned during the reservation process. The person who greeted us showed no empathy and offered no apology for this inconvenience. The waitstaff were courteous and attentive, which we appreciated. The food was decent but nothing remarkable, with prices typical for Rome. Unfortunately, this combination of poor communication, lack of consideration for guests, and unremarkable food means we cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and were recommended this ristorante for our dinner. We were served by a lovely waitress and the food was divine. BEING LOVERS OF WINE - We ordered a DOCG Prosecco from the menu knowing that the G meant that we would receive a highest standard of Prosecco. Usually when we have had a DOCG wine the seal is shown to us, not this time, but we thought nothing of it. We ate, we drank, we talked and once finished our wine we wanted to check the bottle and found it was NOT DOCG but a DOC even though it was advertised. When we asked the waiter about this he said he would speak to the manager and didn’t come back to us at all nor did he look at us again. We broached the subject with the manager who immediately became heated and began yelling at us that we drank the bottle and shook it, yelling it is empty so it must not be that bad. He then proceeded to talk to the staff behind the counter about us in Italian and shaking the bottle. He then came back yelling at us in front of the entire restaurant that in 5 years he had never had this complaint. We were embarrassed and humiliated - our night of celebration destroyed by a question. He then came back for us to pay and gave us 9 Euros off and stated that this was for the ‘G’. I recommend the food but not if this man is here as a Manager! Misrepresentation of a wine as DOCG is surely frowned upon by the wine community. But mostly, after spending considerable money at this restaurant this person made us feel unwelcome and attempted to gaslight us as if we were mistaken (all it takes is a quick google search to see). A simple quiet apology and a bill correction would have been much more pleasant than the awful scene that he created making not just us but every other diner uncomfortable.

I don’t recommend this place to anybody. They charge 15 euros for 4 small raviolis. Bad service. Everything takes long time. They only want to get your money.
