The fried oysters were great & my wife had the Cobb salad. The service was friendly, welcoming & excellent. We enjoyed it!
I got the chicken basil sandwich and it was amazing! The chicken was cooked to perfection, the basil spread was not overwhelming and the bacon just made it even more perfect! I opted for the coleslaw and glad I did. Typically I am picky w/coleslaw but this so far has been the best! As far as service they were super professional and very attentive! Keep up the great work! We normally stop at a nearby cafe when in the area however we will make sure to make cove Azul a must!!
Friendly bar with the "locals hang out here" vibe. Good drinks, attentive service, delicious food. One mistake happened with my food, but they corrected it with a smile. That goes a long way for me. We had a wonderful time, and got some great advice from the locals. We will be back!
Great spot on the water. Friendly owners and staff, and great food. And a pool table!!
We had a great experience here on consecutive Saturday and Sunday evenings while staying nearby. Friendly local crowd, good food (we sampled burgers and fish & chips), friendly fast service, big portions, nice view, nice prices. Scott behind the bar was especially terrific. We appreciated this place is open until 9pm when many other nearby places close at 8pm. Recommended.
Fantastic Mother's Day dinner with my son! I had the most amazing and totally sinful penne with dried tomatoes, artichoke, garlic and a to die for cream sauce. You can't beat the amazing views of the Pacific Coast from every window in the dining room! Outdoor dining is available as well on warmer days. The service was prompt and very attentive to our needs. A perfect night! Thank you
Cute little restaurant and bar located right off highway 1. Easy parking. Our delicious meal consisted of fish tacos, queso fundido, and a Cadillac margaritas to wash it down. Weather permitted try to sit outside to enjoy the ocean view. Then before heading out, check out the bar and enjoy a game of pool (for free)
Best food in Gualala. Addicting French fries. Salmon grilled perfectly. I spent a couple weeks in the area and tried a number of restaurants. Cove Azul turned out to be my go to restaurant for lunch. Cooper gives it five wags.
What a cool place to stop and have a meal and something to wash it down! Their fish and chips is delicious! They have REAL French fries too. Just wish there were more than a handful. Nice light batter, not too greasy and the fries were just sooooo darn good. Service was spot on too! They also have great outdoor seating with views of the ocean. You can't beat it! Its on the second floor so you get a really good vantage point. Worth a stop in just for a beer and view alone. The food is just a big bonus!
Good food. I had Azul burger. Wife had prawn sandwich and clam chowder. Both very good. Nice views. Service was a little lacking, may have just been our waiter. Host was prompt and welcoming
Wow! What a find! I’m visiting Gualala and wanted a nice dinner after a long day of travel. The server was so friendly and accommodating I placed an order for a soup- clam chowder which was perfect- and a salad but changed my mind about the salad and asked if I could switch- no problem and boy was I not disappointed! It was a massive bed of spinach with feta cheese, fresh crispy bacon all chopped up and walnuts- the dressing was avocado honey mustard I think - anyway it was just delicious and exactly what I wanted. As for the atmosphere , well you can’t get any better than a view of the pacific! Dining room was cozy and nice clean decor. I’ll be back here for sure because the menu items looked amazing- pasta, fish, and other interesting dishes. Yum!
Very atmosphered place with good food and bar with billiard! Bar was opened even after hours and serving with perfect cold beer. Food just regular, tasty for this price and portions are huge. Staff is friendly and everything was quick. We ordered a greek salad with fish and chips. All is fresh, fish is tasty and only minus just for fries. Recommending!
Delicious food, great service. Awesome view. Would highly recommend.
Favorites: Salmon Tacos and Salmon Fish & Chips. The view is great (both indoor and outdoor seating) and staff are super freindly. The food is simple but great.
Great little spot with a wicked view. Fish tacos, polenta, fettuccine alfredo, fish and chips all on point with homemade sauces. Expect a little twist on whatever you’re ordering and you’ll enjoy! Excellent service.
Excellent. Open certain days, check ahead. Power outage seems a thing around this area they to turned away folk after I got my food. I would return. Happy they offered vegan. Huge portions. A walk up from Surf Inn.

Excellent chowder and salad combo. Our server was attentive and friendly which was a plus. They had a nice selection of items to choose from (pasta, burgers, chicken). I don't look for vegetarian, but saw pasta items that would work. My husband said "I'd go back there." which confirms my review.
I always enjoy eating here. Food is tasty and consistent! Atmosphere is relaxing. Vikki makes delicious margaritas too!!
We came in here just before closing, the pizza place we'd planned on going to was closed by the time we got into town, and I'm so glad it was! The food here was SO GOOD! I was expecting "bar & grill" food, but oh no! The clam chowder (with warm bread & butter) was PERFECT! Creamy, flavorful, packed with sweet tender clams... *Chef's kiss* My son had the mushroom bacon cheese burger, we ordered it medium, and it was definitely on the rare/med rare side, but he didn't seem to care, the bite I had was delicious. Fish & chips were lightly battered FRESH, flaky and heavenly, came w/ tartar sauce 10/10. I got the crab sandwich, the bun was a basic sesame seed, honestly I threw it away because it was just plain white bread diluting a huge tasty crab cake (topped with a yummy mango salsa.) Once the bun was gone, it went from a 5/10 to 10/10. We got our food to go right before closing, so the soggy fries and undercooked burger were on us, I think eating there would have been much better in-person.
This place had great service. We stopped by on a road trip north. There's a pretty good view of the ocean inside and at one of the tables outside. We would have loved to have sit inside and looked at the view, but the other table next to the big windows had a woman hitting her child, so we sat outside. Of course that wasn't the restaurant's fault, but it definitely was a damper. Both my husband and I greatly enjoyed our food - he had some sort of crab burger and I had some sort of tuna burger. Both were simple, but delicious!

Great place with a view. The Scallops were simply OUTSTANDING! 👌😋 The Clam Chowder a little thin. Coconut Shrimps were good. Complementary bread OUTSTANDING! Service was fast & friendly. The place was clean & centrally located. I will definitely come back for those Scallops.
Friendly, helpful staff. Absolutely delicious food. Reasonable prices. We were surprised at the wait but someone had called in an order ahead of us. The view to watch the sunset was blocked
Great people working here. Sat outside on the deck and saw whales spouting in the distance. We ordered grilled halibut and the stuffed salmon. Planned on sharing but the tomato sauce on the salmon was spicy 🔥 and my wife has an allergic reaction to spicy peppers. So, I got the salmon she got the halibut. Both were very good.
The food was great. Fish and chips were delightful, but the clamchowder has gone down in quality from other years we've been. It's very watery vs. thick and creamy like before. Service was okay; the server didn't check in much.
I would definitely visit again. Location is great, service was nice. Ordering Shrimp Louie was probably not the best idea. There was just nothing remarkable about it, although that dish leaves so many options to be a bit creative. Next time I‘ll order oysters, sandwich or a burger.
After a walk at Gualala park, we were hungry and remembered the Cove Azul made a great burger, so we came in for a late lunch. We had the spicy burger. It was spicy and very juicy. Several napkins were required. The French fries were house made. While they could have ben crispier, they were good. The service was fast and efficient. There's a nice view of the ocean from the dining room.
This fun little restaurant and bar is on the second story so you have a nice view of the downtown area! The bar area has a pool table too! I ordered the salmon with tomato-pesto and jasmine rice. We ordered mussels for apps, they were delicious! The staff were friendly and the location was clean. It was busy on a Friday night, but we were sat promptly! I would definitely go back here. Note, there are only a few gluten/dairy-free dinner options.
Nice deck with a great view over the ocean and the town. And the room inside also has good views, and great photos on the wall. Food is simple but correct.
Food and drink are good I make better stake but their sea food and Alfredo are worth it.. the coup de gras the dessert menu in the tourist towns its easy to find places spitting out overpriced cruddy stuff but not this outfit. Then again, A bar Is a bar is a bar place is beautiful but 1 man got so drunk on a Thursday night he urinated on himself and stumbled down the stairs alone with keys in hand! We tried to stop him but you know 🤷♀️

Stopped in for a late lunch. Crabcake sandwich was OK and served on a hamburger bun. My wife’s shrimp sandwich was good but served on a fancy hotdog bun. Prices look good.

I had good hopes for this place based on the glowing reviews, But there aren't a lot of places for dinner in Gualala, so maybe that has something to do with it, because my dinner was very sub-par. I think I should have known better than to order oysters on the half shell from a place like this, but I was hoping that maybe oysters were their quirky niche specialty or something. Without wanting to be snarky, I have to say these were the worst oysters on the half shell that I have ever had. They were opaque and rubbery, with no sea water in the shell like fresh oysters should have. They were also very dead. Very bad in the mouth, mushy and dry at the same time, and highly unappetizing to put it nicely. I don't know where they got those oysters from or how they stored them, but I hope to soon forget the experience of eating them. The fried oysters I had after (yes, I love oysters) were also bad. Too much breading and mushy oysters inside. I think they should take oysters off their menu, if they're not going to serve them well. If I ever go back, I will stick to the safe option of a hamburger and fries. Maybe I will have a nice meal there then, because on the plus side, the service was very friendly and professional.

The calamari app was good. Unfortunately the fish in my seafood scampi tasted pretty gross - it must have been old or something. All the other seafood (shrimp, scallops, clams, etc.) in the dish was good though. They also got my order wrong: I ordered the potatoes as a side, but was given rice instead. Smaller issues, but the table we were at was very wobbly and felt like it would fall if I put more weight on it (it didn't though). The light by our table was also flickering which was a lil annoying.
Arrived shortly after they opened with only a few patrons in the restaurant. My wife and I ordered fish and chips and the fish taco platter. We waited more than an hour to get served and only after we were about to walk out.
