Yesterday, I stopped in for a bite during a quick road trip. They had this incredible item, Filthy Fries Buffalo Chicken. The ingredients are as followed: Hot buffalo house breaded Panko chicken, served on a bed of fries, topped with fried onions, melted cheese, bacon, and house garlic aioli. HOLY MOLY, this was INCREDIBLE. I subbed sweet potato fries for the regular fries then asked for an additional side of buffalo sauce because I like to turn up the heat. If I had the time, I’d go back for lunch tomorrow. W🔥W! When you’re passing through #Sacramento, get in there and order this item.
The food was really good. I had the Chilaquilles. Its a fried corn tortilla topped with refried beans scrambled eggs pork and salsa Verde. Pork was tender and cubed. It came with a side of crispy topped potatoes. The side of avocado was 2.50 and only half of an avocado. I also got a a side of biscuits and gravy. It is alot smaller then most places but delicious none the less. Unfortunately the white plates have permanent stains and should be replaced because they looked dirty and my water mug was actually dirty with hot pink lipstick on the rim still. The food is real good and ill likely order again, to go.
A welcoming, thriving community atmosphere with a comfortable, inviting aesthetic. They host gaming tournaments, karaoke nights, and serve quality, expertly crafted dinner dishes (courtesy of whenever Emiliano works 😏). Great selection of drinks, rotation of interesting cocktails, friendly and visually appealing staff behind the bar and in the kitchen. An exciting destination for out-of-towners to set the bar for what locals can expect for the quality overall quality. Highly welcoming to Bay Area visitors.
I love coming here for Raves! The food is delicious, the staff is Sexy, the vibes are immaculate! The people have so much fun, non judgemental and very crazy, in a good way ;) Come here and let loose this Saturday! 1/17/26
Went on a saturday afternoon at about 3pm. It was quiet not alot of people, the man who waited on us was very nice and had a good sense of humor. He also gave us great service. He recommended a few things and we went with the potato platter with sides of biscuits and gravy. Food quick to table and delicious. Even the orange juice was great. It was my first time there and I will definitly be back. Maybe have a couple drinks next time from the bar . Kudos Cornerstone!
Sports bar atmosphere. Delicious breakfast. The veggie omelet and potatoes were great. My daughter really liked the eggs benedict. Waiters were in it, coming by every 10 minutes to check our drinks. Would definitely eat here again.
The place so nice, we visited it twice! Came to Sacramento for a festival. A local reccomend it. Food was excellent and affordable. The service was excellent!! People make a place, and the staff here elevate it's already great food! Can't wait to come back!
Inspired to come here after seeing a tik-tok video. My wife and I came here for breakfast. I had the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, My wife had the Mega Scramble, and a pitcher of Pineapple Mimosa. It was very delicious, nicely portioned, very demure...j/k. Our service was wonderful! Definitely would come back to venture the menu.
We enjoyed our Sunday brunch there with a group of friends. They have a pretty big menu, but when someone mentioned they had Chicken & Waffles, that was all I needed to know. It is my go-to, and a must try if it's on the menu! The waffle was your standard buttermilk biscuit waffle mix, it was as topped with a few thick crispy bacons, and three chicken tenders. Now, the thing about the chicken is that it's extra crispy but the batter is more of a chicken katsu and not a southern fried chicken. The meat on the inside was tender. I believe the Avocado Jack Burger was great since she ate all of it with no complaints. HA! I believe the pitcher of mimosas served about 8-10 flutes. All who were drinking appeared to enjoy them. The servers were friendly and funny. The pricing was average. When you walk in there, it's like an old school diner/cafe but with a club vibe. Seriously, there's dance floor lights above, the bar to the left, and a couple backdrops for VIP pictures at night. Cool spot. Check it out if you're in the area.
Awesome! I haven't been here in ages! It was delicious and now I'm all emotional! My Dad used to take us here when we were kids. Good ol' days! Thanks for breakfast guys! It was amazing! Also, I'll see you in a few...so I can actually pay for breakfast 🤦 Thanks for being so cool about my lack of a wallet!
I absolutely love Cornerstone! The staff is very welcoming and always provides excellent service. Great venue, it’s very spacious all around, with an open floor plan and lots of additional seating out front and in back. Lots of cool artwork throughout. Perfect place to grab a drink and hang out. Drinks are priced very well. All the food is delicious, but definitely check out their breakfast menu. You’ll be glad you stopped by. -Anthonyxibarrax
This is nice place with a fairly large sitting area compared to other establishments in downtown Sacramento. The booths are comfortable and give you good privacy. The breakfast came out extremely fast. Within 10 minutes of my order. This place has parking on the street and in the back. Make sure you get here early or call ahead of time and it is popular and fills up quickly. Very nice it opens early at 7am. I will go back. The bacon was extraordinary best bacon I have seen in a restaurant for a long time.
Visiting Sacramento for work and Cornerstone is a nice stroll from where I'm engaged. Nice open seating area, super friendly staff. Nostalgic music in the air. Sadly, I was too late for their breakfast waffle. Breakfast shuts down officially at 3p but the waffle iron chills out around 230p so, if you're seeking pancakes with actual ambition, get to Cornerstone at a proper time 😁 That being said, I was surprised by the bacon cheeseburger. It's a diner burger, to be sure, but in a very good way. Solid beef, good American cheese, and truly excellent bacon. This is one of those burgers where the bacon truly owns the flavor profile. The onion rings are also very good. Ask for barbecue sauce if you get the rings. Pretty sure the sauce was Sweet Baby Rays but that's not a bad thing. All in all a very solid lunch experience. Much recommended if you're in need of a good watering hole whilst out and about on ye olde J Street.
Wanted to try a new place for brunch, so I met my friend here to keep our birthday celebrations going. I ordered a potato skillet scramble and a pancake; they were both good. I hasld three mimosas, cranberry, pineapple and a mix, they were regular, not what I've become accustomed to, but the champagne was good.
The chicken and waffles were great and Jeff (Golden Retriever) loved the beef and hash. Sitting on the patio late in the morning was nice and relaxing. Not too loud due to work hours and a little cool out. Inside looked comfy and inviting. Service was great as well. The lady working behind the bar counter was more than happy to come outside to take my order and I never had to ask for refills nor did I feel too attended to. First time there and overall it was a great experience.
Typical diner fare in a modern, gastropub-like setting. The food is average but solid. Note that prices for some of their items are higher than what's printed in their menu. Eg the "deli sandwich" is actually $10, not the $9 advertised in their menu. Their sandwiches were straightforward but good. Chicken fingers were a hit with the kids, and the turkey rice soup was solid.
I came today with my partner and I was waiting for more than an hour, like 1 hour and 10 minutes the waiter said that there was a big party but we saw the tables around and the place was not occupied at all. It seems that the waiter forgot to put in our order. We ended up leaving and as we walked out half of the tables were empty. We sat in the far back corner of the restaurant so we must have been out of sight and out of mind.
Please reconsider your decisions. It could have detrimental effects to your business and support form long-standing customers. For decades, Cornerstone has been a Sacramento landmark built on consistency, pride, and trust. Much of that trust came from long-term employees such as Valeri, Markus, and Lonnie, who were not only exceptional representatives of the café, but integral to the customer experience. Knowing this to be the face of cornerstone and exceptional service , Their professionalism, familiarity with regular patrons, and commitment to service created the atmosphere that kept customers returning week after week for years. So well known to their customers that many times when you come in, you didn’t even need a menu because the servers already know exactly what you wanted , that is the Service that we’ve come to expect, I will miss that the most, the familiarity with the customers and greetings of pure hospitality to which I’ve already noticed less than one week into the new changes. On December 24, I visited specifically to thank Valerie her nearly 30 years of service, as I do every year on the holidays only to learn she was no longer there. The following morning, Christmas Day, I discovered that Markus—who had served me consistently every Sunday and major holiday—was also gone. The abrupt loss of these staff members immediately raised concern and left me with and empty feeling. Unfortunately, those concerns were validated when my meal arrived. My regular breakfast, something I have ordered countless times over the years was unrecognizable in both preparation and taste. This was not a minor variation; it reflected a fundamental change in kitchen execution, ingredients, and/or cooking methods. After speaking with staff, I learned that the main cook had also been let go and that food products, oils, and preparation protocols had changed. The result was a significant decline in quality—one that longtime customers will notice immediately. Quite frankly, it was the worst meal I have ever had at Cornerstone. I recognize the challenges restaurants have faced since COVID and appreciate efforts to adapt, including new concepts introduced to keep the business viable. However, removing long-standing, trusted staff and altering core food standards jeopardizes the very foundation that made Cornerstone successful. These are not cosmetic changes; they directly impact customer loyalty, reputation, and long-term sustainability. If there is any opportunity to re-engage or bring back key staff members such as Valerie, Markus, and the experienced kitchen team, I strongly urge management to consider doing so. Their value to Cornerstone cannot be overstated. Equally important is a return to the quality ingredients, cooking oils, and preparation methods that customers have come to expect over decades of consistent excellence. As a loyal customer, my intention is not to criticize, but to be clear: the current direction is concerning and risks driving away a deeply established customer base. I am willing to continue patronizing Cornerstone in the near term, but improvement in food quality and service consistency must be immediate and evident. Without that, I, and many of my friends, clients, and community members I have introduced to Cornerstone over the yearswill be forced to reconsider where we take our business. I offer this feedback respectfully, yet firmly, in the hope that management will reassess recent decisions and take corrective action. Cornerstone has earned its reputation through years of dedication, experience, and pride in both staff and product. I hope to see that commitment restored. Thank you for your time and consideration. I am available should you wish to discuss these concerns further. My goal is to see Cornerstone return to the standard that made it a Sacramento recognized institution. a very concerned customer on the future of cornerstone Café survivability, I would like to see things go back to the way they were to uphold the level of customer service that we’ve come to expect.
