Loved the food here. I couldn't get the XO sauce noodle, but I enjoyed their Singaporean noodle. Pineapple duck was amazing as well. I boxed the left over good and had it for the next day dinner. It was still good.

What a nice surprise! We stopped in for take out. I was expecting the usual fare as far as menu selection for a small Chinese restaurant; and I was also expecting the usual range/depth of flavor with the meals (especially being outside of San Mateo and Millbrae). The menu caught my attention as it featured a lot of dishes beyond what you'd typically find. We ordered pretty standard things, but will look forward to trying some of the house specials next time! When we got home and opened the boxes . . . I was very surprised to see a rich color to the food. And the flavor definitely matched. The portions were generous and well-balanced in terms of the provision of meats/fish and veggies. The noodles were soft and chewy, the pan-fried dumplings had a nice thick and chewy shell/skin with a solidly fried bottom. The sauce on the chicken was thick, with just the right balance between salt and spice. One or two dishes were a little on the greasy side, but nothing to complain about. We had leftovers tonight, and the dishes really soaked up the flavor! Even better the second time around. Order: Pan-fried dumplings/potstickers; beef chow fun, rock fish and asparagus, and kung pao chicken. We made our own rice and veggies (fried dandelion greens w/ garlic and salt).

Today was my second lunch here with my team, and I can inly say good thing about this place. Service is excellent, very cute indoors, colorful, and most importantly, food is delicious.. we tried many dishes, all really good and at the end, total bill was very reasonable! I totally recommend this place, you will not regret if you try it, and you might even continue going back!

Huge portions. Friendly service. Amazing lunch deals. This is our second visit. Definitely coming back. We ordered: 1. Fish fillet stir fry -great! Even had vegetables in the dish. They got creative about using snap peas julienne to look like and have the texture of green onions. Maybe they ran out of green onions? but it was very tasty this way. Will order again 2. Beef chow fun with sha cha sauce -great, they added sha cha sauce on our request. So nice. Good "wok hay" 3. Fried pork -pretty good. Some pieces good, some a bit dry.

I can honestly say this the only 5 star review (that I recall, at least) I've ever given a restaurant. If you want good "American" Chinese food, this is your place. Plentiful portions, deep flavor, and plenty of options. I have lost track of how many times I've eaten here, and I'm totally fine with that. The owner is just about the sweetest lady you'll ever meet, and will always go out of her way to accommodate you. A few menu suggestions: get the hot and sour soup, and ask for spicy/hot oil - mix the hot oil in with your soup, and thank me later. Their Kung Pao chicken is good (however I can never get it spicy enough - that's a me issue: I'm sure they'd be breaking some sort of San Mateo county fire ordinance if they made it the heat level I wanted). The crab wonton and the egg rolls are great! Just the right level of crispy and just enough "fried" flavor. If you want Chinese food, and you're hungry, just trust me. Come here. You're not going to be sorry. And, if you eat here, then tell me you ARE sorry, then you can't be my friend.

I've been coming pretty regularly for years and the food is always good and the service friendly. Favorites include Beef Chow Fun,. Singapore fried noodles, clear cooked Bok Choi. Update as of May 2022 - still awesome. Please stop by and get some great food and help this small family business survive the times.

New Canton is our go to for Chinese in San Carlos. The vegetables are fresh and cooked perfectly. Pan fried pork buns are great, too.

This is our favorite go-to Chinese restaurant. The lunch specials are especially good as they come with soup and there's plenty to take home for dinner.

The menu is super easy to read and understand. The food is super delicious and tasty my favorite place in san Carlos. Garlic salmon, calamari plate and salt and pepper fish are amazing.

They serve Cantonese dishes and most of the ones we tried are tasty. Their mango chicken is our favorite. Their warm, friendly and prompt service is much appreciated.

Great place to go for lunch or take out if you live close. Solid San Francisco style Chinese food. If you have liked a dish somewhere else try their version, they do a good job on all the standards.

Normally I don't have to add any soy sauce because it's so flavorful but whoever cooked the food tonight did a horrible job literally the food was so bland. I'm so upset I spent a $100 on this food when it's below average usually it's delicious I don't know if they changed chefs or if they had a bad night but tonight the Chinese food was horrible. I'm taking 2 stars off and when I try it again if it's good then I'll add the stars back. I'm hoping it's a one time thing because if this is how it's always gonna be I'm gonna have to start looking elsewhere.

Tried this place for the first time as the reviews seemed good. But I am sorry to say but the food was terrible. We got the sweet & sour shrimp and a side of rice. My son got the sweet & sour chicken. The breading on both was falling off and soggy. The chicken was hard, dry, and overcooked The prawns tasted very old and fishy as well as overcooked. My first bite, I chewed into something hard and spit it out. The rice was dry and felt like it needed a pinch of salt. I was disappointed because I didn't even eat my food. The food overall was low quality. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff were very nice and when I went back for a another side of rice because I thought what I got wasn't enough they gave it to me at no charge. I don't think I will come back.

My wife and I hadn’t been in the area in about 2 years and we realized that panda dumplings had closed. So we eat here at new canton restaurant. When the waitress handed us the menus she basically threw it at us, and we were not offered any water. Most places offer water as soon as you sit down. We placed our order and the first thing to come to the table was soup, but they didn’t bring us bowls or spoons until later. The lady that greets you is rude and doesn’t offer good customer service. And she kept arguing with the cook. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

If you can't handle taking online orders, don't take online orders

All my orders have been via Waiter.com. I usually order a main dish with a side of rice. The only thing I can say positive is that the rice is cooked well. I have yet to receive an order that 1) is correct and 2) that I can actually eat [I have food allergies that are clearly stated when placing the order.] Waiter.com customer service stated they reached out to the owner regarding these issues and was asked that I give them "one more chance". Today was one more chance and I STILL didn't get my order correct.... my advice: don't order from here unless it's something simple like rice or noodles and with no special instructions. Sorely disappointed and am deeply regretting giving this place so many chances.

Someone needs to inspect this restaurant for health code violations. Do yourself and your digestive system a favor, do not eat here!!!

Both the fried and steam rice we very over cooked thus mushy. The nail on the coffin for us is that we found mold on the chow mein! We threw the food out of disgust. I would say to avoid this place at all cost.
