Eddie V’s should be at the top of anyone’s list for dinner, and especially for celebrating a special occasion. We chose it for our anniversary and were beyond pleased with the entire experience. The ambience was elegant, the food was exceptional, and the service was truly top-notch. The Chilean Sea Bass is an absolute must-try for anyone who appreciates fine dining. Our server, Jacob, was nothing short of phenomenal, and Manager Mike elevated the evening with his warm visits and engaging conversation. Eddie V’s delivers amazing staff, world-class hospitality, and unforgettable cuisine. We will definitely be back!!

I had such an amazing experience at Eddie V’s! The atmosphere is elegant but still relaxed, perfect for a nice night out. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor — the seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. We went to celebrate our anniversary and Brian (make sure to ask for him) was an amazing waiter. One of the best we’ve ever had. He made our experience what it was, amazing. From the knowledge he shared with the difference in meals to the drinks and desserts, it was a great experience. The set up, the welcome and the celebration were all above and beyond. Thank you again for making our anniversary that much more special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and the food, drinks and dessert we ended up with were cooked and made to perfection. Customer friendly does no justice to how they make you feel there. Had my first date there. My white shirt was employee of the month. And it showed outstanding service trust your server explain what you're looking for and they got you from top to bottom outstanding customer service beyond belief. Lobster tacos yes . Chris was our server and made our experience so wonderful. We were celebrating our closing on our house and empty nesting. We did a menu type tasting with expert wine pairings recommended by Chris. Eddie V’s in San Antonio delivers on every level — this was a five-star meal from start to finish. We had a party of five, and everyone ordered something different, which meant I got to taste a wide range of dishes. The shrimp cocktail was a standout right away — fresh, meaty, and perfectly chilled (not the sad frozen kind you sometimes get). The Caesar salad was crisp and balanced, and the Brussels sprouts with honey Sriracha had that ideal mix of sweet heat and caramelized edges. The cod in soy broth was cooked flawlessly — delicate, flaky, and deeply flavorful. The lamb chops were tender and rich, and the chili-rubbed New York strip had a fantastic crust and just the right amount of spice. The lobster mashed potatoes were decadent without being heavy — pure comfort food done right. We ended with the tableside Bananas Foster, which came flaming to life in a perfect bit of dinner theater and tasted just as good as it looked. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the overall vibe felt upscale but still relaxed. This is one of those rare places where you can order almost anything and it’s going to be outstanding.

Dinner at Eddie V’s last night was everything I love about dining out! The warm ambience, elegant but comfortable atmosphere, and service that makes you feel truly taken care of. Although I opted to dine at the bar, I ran into one of their best waiters, Al, who is phenomenal as always!! He’s seriously the BEST. Appetizer • Caesar Salad – Crisp romaine, flavorful dressing, and a generous portion that could easily be shared. Entrée • Steak (Medium) – Cooked perfectly, tender, and bursting with flavor. • Truffle Mashed Potatoes – Smooth, rich, and the perfect pairing for the steak. Cocktail • Espresso Martini – Tasty, well-balanced, and served with a cute presentation that made it extra memorable. Dessert • Bananas Foster Butter Cake – Moist, indulgent, and the sweetest ending to a fantastic meal. Eddie V’s is always a good dining choice no matter the occasion. I’ll definitely return to this location.

The food was VERY good. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, cooked to perfection, tender, juicy! You have to be there to experience it! It’s 22 oz so it’s perfect for sharing between 2 people, maybe 3. My husband and I shared it and we could not finish it, we had to take it home. We got the calamari and lump crab cake and it’s safe to say the calamari won hands down (I’m bias and I don’t like crab cake). But my husband really liked the crab cake. After almost destroying that calamari, we dug into the steak which put us in a coma and then we ordered dessert. The Belgium chocolate cake was warm and the ice cream paired so beautifully, it was heaven in my mouth. And the banana Forster butter cake almost put my husband out, it was so delicious, sweet, it was amazing. The waitress that took our order was so kind, knew the menu, was very attentive, and was very good at her job. One of the best waitresses we’ve ever had. 10/10 we will most likely be back.

Steve wanted steak and I wanted lobster and i found EddieV’s online (had never heard of it) and made reservations. This was the best anniversary dining experience we have ever had in 58 years of marriage! We were greeted with rose petals 🌹 and card on our table! Next was complimentary champagne and smoked salmon appetizers sample🍾🥂. The food was a 10 star dinner. Our server, Allison was absolutely amazing! She also surprised us with a complimentary desert. We will definitely be going back!!!

My wife and I went to Eddie V’s for our anniversary, it was a last minute decision in which we made reservations for 8:00. When we got there we were greeted by the hostess who asked if we would like to sit at Alex’s table. We were not sure what was but said yes. To our surprise it was much like a chefs table, right there on the cook line and at the oyster station. Lots of action to watch. The next surprise was a hand written card for my wife and I anniversary. The thing is I did not tell anyone it was our anniversary so it was so nice they knew. And this just the beginning. Next came the rose peddles and a single beautiful red rose for my wife. Alex started us off with and order of six oysters, but he gave us 8, two of each kind, they had four types. It was a pleasure to talk to Alex and hear some of his stories. Alex is awesome. Next, bring in Maria, our server. I can’t say enough good things about her. With out our knowing, she did her part to keep our cost in check. We had the red snapper special. She took it upon herself to have the meal split in two. It was the perfect portion, the same happened with our drinks, and no they were not weak. We bought a bottle of wine, which every glass was poured by them. The service was off the chart. Then at the end of the night after the dessert gifted by Maria, we had a good chat with the Manager Mike that capped the night. In the end the bill was $100 less than we planned for so Maria and Alex were nicely taken care of. We enjoyed the night very much. My husband and I went to Eddie V’s tonight for our monthly date night. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants, which makes it especially disappointing to write this review. Unfortunately, the service was not up to the standard we’ve come to expect. For our second course, we ordered the lobster bisque. It was delivered by someone other than our server. Before he left the table, we asked for pepper. He said he would take back the vase-like containers the bisque was served in and return shortly with the pepper, but he never came back. When I later caught our server’s attention, I asked again for pepper. He said he would be right back, but on his way he became distracted entering orders into the system, delivering drinks to another table, and disappearing into the kitchen for several minutes. After I waved again to get his attention, he finally remembered the pepper. By then, the soup was no longer hot. The greater disappointment, however, was my main course. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, which is my favorite fish and something I cook often at home. Chilean sea bass has a very distinctive, delicate flavor and a buttery, tender texture. The fish I was served felt and tasted more like cod, drier and fibrous rather than soft and flaky. I was assured it was sea bass, which leaves two concerning possibilities: either there was a quality issue with the supplier that needs to be addressed immediately, or the fish was significantly overcooked to the point that its structure and texture were completely altered. Either scenario is unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber.

Went for a birthday celebration with a reservation for two. We were sat on time and greeted with champagne. Despite the atmosphere being very loud the area we dined in felt less chaotic. I was really looking forward to the food however I was not amazed considering the hefty price tag that comes with it. Everything we ordered was mediocre at best except for the crab cakes which were phenomenal. For entrees we ordered lamb and the steak medallions both were somewhat overcooked and dry. The side dishes are shareable size. We ordered the asparagus and truffle mac. We made sure to try the dessert to top of the meal. The chocolate cake was also nothing memorable but did come with a plated happy birthday. Overall for the price attached I was disappointed with the dishes. The service was amazing though

I really hate to do this as Eddie V’s used to be one of my favorite spots to go. The last two times I have gone, the service has been mediocre to say the least, and the experience is just not what it used to be. We spent well over an hour just getting seated and getting drinks down on the table. I’m not even talking alcoholic drinks from the bar I’m talking even water put down. By the time we were serviced and put in orders(which they were out of multiple seafood items, the whole reason we chose Eddie v’s) it was already time for last call. Mind you the reservation my party had was at 8:30. At this point we felt bad they were on the verge of closing, so we did not cut the cake for the birthday girl we just asked to light candles, re box the cake and get the checks. Which then took another grueling 30-40 minutes. We left feeling going across the street or booking somewhere else would’ve been better.
