I was a little nervous at first because of a strange person here talking to herself but it turned out to be good! This was a 1st here in San Antonio and this restaurant.

Food was excellent and service was great! Charlie was very attentive to us. I would definitely recommend to others.

I felt so happy and cared for here, and I love receiving the ketchup smiley face plate when I first sat down! I had a double bacon cheeseburger which was super delicious and filling, and a very impressive banana shake with whipped cream that had noticeable real bananas and not the inferior fake banana flavoring! My waitress was kind and personable, and if I’m ever traveling in the area again I will definitely return!

They left us cute little ketchup drawings and hats with crayons even though 90% were adults which made our experience so much more fun and lively. Made everyone get to drawing and laughing. The food was amazing I almost ordered it again right then and there because the service was so quick. Our waiter Tina was amazing and the one who made those ketchup drawings. I would love to come here again with my family a great 10/10 experience.

I was so surprised to see the Johnny rockets at the mall in San Antonio. I thought they had gone out of business. My wife had never eaten at one so we were both excited to go. We both enjoyed it very much and can't wait to go back again. We asked a woman who was not our server for something and she said I don't have to be your server with the big smile and proceeded to get it for us. What a great experience!

Today my turtle died and Dante made the pain of my turtles death vanish like my father did when I was younger. Idk if it’s the alcohol or my love for Dante but this food was so gas. I nearly came when I took the first bite. Thank you Dante for opening my eyes to Johnny rocket and possibly a new sexuality path. I LOVE Johnny Rockets! One of the two ‘oldies’ diners I’ve been looking for since moving from CA in 2012 and OMG! It’s so good! The burgers were top notch, nicely cooked and seasoned, not too much sauce, and the fries were perfect too. Of course I ALWAYS order one of their shakes!! I bought me a mug and they gave me a pin!! Thank you for being here!

What a great find! Plenty of room inside and out for seating options. The staff was friendly and greeted all of us as if we were family. We were taking to our table of choice, given menus, and silverware. Waitress immediately asked us what we wanted to drink, brought the drinks back super quick, and at that point asked us what our food of choice was. We ordered some mini burgers, turkey avacado with bacon sandwich, and a jalepeno/cheddar cheese style burger, so delicious and cooked to perfection. The fries were amazing, lightly salted and crispy. Fun atmosphere, very inviting, and filled with happiness. Ballon’s for the kiddos or I guess whoever wants one upon exit. Definitely check this place out if you are visiting San Antonio, yeah!

Grabbed a bite after a lot of walking in the area. The strawberry shake HIT. Burger was 8/10 and fries were 6/10 not gonna lie they were kinda dry haha but still good to eat kinda pricey though the burgers comes with no fries but I mean it’s inside a mall so you know it’s going to be a bit pricey.

Had an awesome experience at Johnny Rockets thanks to Juan! From the moment we sat down, he was super welcoming and had such a great attitude. He was attentive without being overbearing, made sure our drinks were always refilled, and checked in at the perfect times. Juan really went above and beyond to make sure everything came out right and that we were enjoying our food. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in his work. Service like that honestly makes the whole experience better. If you stop by, definitely ask for Juan — he’ll take great care of you!

I love that no matter the chaos of shortage of food the crew stood together and made sure they communicated they were making everything fresh , Chantelle made sure the crew everyone checked on the customers and greeted everyone with a smile. I really wish I could remember the lady's name that helped us. Everyone was nice and helpful, including the young man who wrong us up, and then he gave me a have a blessed day mam when my boys and I left. Now back to the lady, she greeted us at the door, then took our order inside, then bagged our food. This is a very busy location and this was an extremely busy weekend. With all that being said they were doing their best fat kitchen was popping it was away but she was very honest and let us know so we had a choice. That food was well worth the wait. Absolutely one of the best burgers I have ever had. Shake and fries were pretty good too. I love the diner atmosphere. I definitely plan to go back . We were a group of 18 persons (three families). We came in & were immediately greeted at the door. The staff was not only nice, accommodating,and professional despite our large group. The food was served as it was prepared. The onion rings were the best I've had in a very long while! The ranch was very tasty & good. The onion rings had a nice coated batter & seasoned nicely. They paired very well with their ranch. We ordered Philly cheese steak, burgers & chili dogs. Everything was served hot & fresh. Every question & request we had they met. Very impressed! The staff on the grill wore gloves & worked well together that I strongly believed is why we got our food so fast & hot. The waitress & manager worked together to provide us with excellent service refilling our drinks, extra napkins, Togo boxes, etc. We came here after my nephews graduation & the manager surprised my nephew with a school of celebratory ice cream. What a wonderful surprise! They all went above and beyond today. Thank you to everyone for making our dining experience an awesome one! 5 stars across the board🙌 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I'll definitely be back for those onion rings & a salad! 😋

First time eating at Johnny Rockets. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was extremely friendly. I ordered the Spicy Houston Double with fries. It didn't take too long for the food to come out since they had just opened and it wasn't crowded.  The bun was toasted perfectly and the beef patties were cooked perfectly and had a nice crisp to them. The lettuce and tomatoes tasted fresh. The jalapenos, pepper jack cheese,  and their smokin chipotle ranch added a nice kick to the burger. Fries were fresh and crispy. Definitely will come back to try the other burgers next time.

Was kind of annoyed at first because we were told to go wait by a pole to get a table and then sort of left there. Then the manager came out and asked if we were told that it was to-go only. I said no and pointed out the gentleman who told us to wait to be seated. She graciously let us in and seated us which was awesome because my kids really wanted to dine-in. Celeste was our server for the evening. She was absolutely amazing with my kids. She catered to them the entire visit. The food was great and the fries were bomb. It was a great visit.

The food was greatvery tasty and they have gluten free options. The only downside was sitting out in the walk area in the mall. The homeless walk through and smell horrible while you are eating. Their tables are also super flimsy so be careful when you dine in the outside area. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. The inside dining area was very full. Our server, James, did a wonderful job of making sure we had everything we needed. The Route 66 burger was good but it needed a sauce or something to give it a flavor that it was lacking. The food was delicious. I ordered the original burger and tater tots. It came out hot and fresh. My sister got a grilled chicken sandwich and fries and she was equally impressed. My niece got an Oreo shake and said it was better than McDonald’s flurry. The service wAs horrible. The female server started taking our order but then cut off my sister and said “ Mom you can’t order a child’s plate you aren’t 12.” Yes I understand but I have 2 kids right here and she is 12. I would give an overall 5 stars however the I am assuming manager named Jennifer seemed to just be micromanaging, not helping but just telling everyone what they did wrong or what needs done. It ruined the experience for me because you can tell the staff was trying to help customers and complete all her requests. It was busy while we were there. So maybe she needs to learn to do what she would ask of her team. I felt bad for the staff.

I have to say that Jennie and Sebastian were working here alone with one cook. Definitely short staffed, but they kept a smile on their faces the entire time, were very attentive and provide EXCELLENT SERVICE. 😁 THANK YOU.

We have been to other Johnny Rockets so we did have an expectation of a good burger. We were not disappointed. First off, our server Jennifer was awesome. The place was pretty busy. She was very polite and attentive. She made out visit awesome. The food was great as expected. I got the mushroom swiss double burger. First time having this burger. It was DELICIOUS!! Fries needed a bit of salt but they were hot and tasty. We had guests from out of town who had never been to a Johnny's. Glad to say they enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well. This may be our go-to place when we visit the River Walk !!

I'm amazed this place stays open. Sitting here and watched 4 tables get up and leave from not being assisted. I think the entire staff is wear ankle monitors. Every table dirty and only cleaned at customers come in.

The food it's great, but the service was awful, you need to wait in the line for a table or bar, I was about 30 minutes and no one of the personal was interested to attend me ultil I ask for it. In addition of this, when finally have a sit the food and drinks took a long time. I don't recomend this place but yes the food, if you can go to anothe Johnny Rockets, please avoid this one.

Unfortunately our visit here was a hit and miss.  My hotdog 🌭 arrived plain, and when our server took it back, it came back slathered with mustard and still lacked ketchup.  My chocolate shake had no chocolate flavor and was a pale color. Learned my server "tried" to make it and obviously failed. On the other hand, the onion rings were fried well and weren't greasy.  And the garden salad with chicken was both beautiful and tasty.

Our servers, Shirley, was great. Our food was a bit burnt and took a while, not her fault. Overall she made the experience better.

So, I have mixed feelings about this place. I love a good burger, but that's about where this place stops for me. Fries are not included with any sandwich or burger. Silverware is a four letter word around here. We got bacon cheese fries, and were forced to eat the entire thing with our fingers. There was so much cheese all over the fries, my fingers were covered and their napkins are so dinky that you need one for each finger. The food was tasty, but I'll probably not be back.

We waited quite a while to be seated and once seated all the drinks were not served before the food, in fact we got half of our drinks after we finished our meal. Other customers left clearly dissatisfied. Our party was split in two tables the first table finished their food before the second table was served and they had a baby. There was visible conflict in the kitchen and the atmosphere amongst other customers was dissatisfied. I would avoid coming here again and advise others to read the room before entering.

The place is a little out of the way and you have to go looking for it. The onion rings were good but fried a little too hard. I was really looking forward to a shake from here. It was a big disappointment. I ordered it with no cream on top. They delivered it with so much cream. That when I removed the cream shake was 2/3 full so alot of cream guys. The shale was supposed to be chocolate? It had very little flavor and was not thick at all. we also had chicken strips again fried hard???? The double swiss with mushrooms and carmel onions was tasty but grease runs down your hand little too much.

We visited for lunch while attending a conference at the nearby hotel. We had some trouble finding the spot from the street but finally found the hidden plaza. As we walked in for lunch the staff was friendly and welcoming. They passed out menúes and got our drink orders. The order did take longer than 15 mins to come to our table and the hour alloted for lunch was quickly reached. As mentioned on another post, the fries are extra for an already overpriced small lunch time burger. However, they were well cooked and I found mine to be very tasty. A burger and fries ran me 15 dollars and the tip put me right at $20. Give them a try if you don't mind smaller portions.

Food was very bland. Wife ordered the turkey burger, and it had zero flavor. They added way too much mustard, and it was so greasy, it was almost inedible. Hubby ordered the Route 66. Except for the carmalized onions and mushrooms, the Burger itself has no flavor. The bacon cheese fries are pathetic. They took unflavored stock fries, slathered it with nacho cheese likely from a can, added bacon on top, which was the only tasty thing about it, and called it a day. Again, no flavor! Service was incredibly slow. People served after us were served well before us. My son liked the shake, but it was so melted by the time he got it, it spilled over. Service was mediocre at best. We will not be back. Prices were a bit high for what we received.

We walked in bc it smelled so good. We were disappointed. The customer service was subpar. We couldn’t hear our waitress bc she spoke so soft. She was nice but just did her job. Nothing spectacular. I ordered the Route 66 burger and when I saw it I was shocked at how sad and depressing the burger looked. The Route 66 is a mushroom Swiss burger so it’s not going to have lettuce and tomato and such. But this was so bad. And for $12. I could not bring myself to pay that much for such a sad and depressing burger. I told the waitress and she took the plate back. I did not ask for the burger to be redone and I didn’t ask for anything to replace the burger. I was simply not going to eat a burger. I was just going to eat the tater tots we ordered. Everyone else’s food at our table looked ok. All of a sudden the manager on duty shows up and she asks me to remove the bun from the burger and she says well your burger looks the way it does bc there are no onions and mushrooms on it. I saw a few mushrooms and onions but not much. She says that’s what the problem is. Without asking me, she says I’ll have to cook fox this for you. I told her I don’t want the burger anymore and she insists that the cook will fix for me. I attempted again to tell her that I didn’t want the burger after all but my family said for me to just accept the burger. So I did. The burger came back and everyone at my table could tell that the cook didn’t remake the burger for me. He just sautéed some mushrooms and onions and put them on my existing burger. He didn’t bother to warm up the burger at all. So when it arrived, the burger was cold except for the mushrooms and onions. 😕 This place is off our list. We will not be going back ever.

I've been passing by this place for years, but had never been. Being curious what they tasted like the whole time. Well, I finally got to around to trying this place out, and maybe it would have been better to have stayed curious without knowing. The service here was ok, but the place was notably dirty and not well cleaned. The food was not good. The burger was cooked well, but bland and needed something to give it some flavor. The tator tots meanwhile were terrible and tasted like the fryer oil they were cooked in. I would have just tossed the tots, but they were a separate cost since the burgers don't come with any fries or tots, so I drowned them in ketchup and forced them down. I don't think I'll be back.

Table for 8? No problem. Everything after that? Total mess. We ordered 5 milkshakes with our drinks. All the regular drinks came out, but no milkshakes. We ordered food, ate the food, and still no milkshakes. First we were told they didn’t have clean glasses. Then it turned into “we’re out of ice cream.” Meanwhile, we’re sitting there with an empty table and no shakes. Meal finished. Still no milkshakes. At that point, what’s the excuse? Pretty disappointing experience. If you can’t serve one of the main items you’re known for, say it up front. Not after 30+ minutes of waiting and excuses.

This was not a great experience for us. We sat in a booth and a young girl came to get our drink order, finally after about 10 minutes. But the manager came over and shooed her away since it wasn't her table. She should have at least let her get our drinks. Our server was tied up for another 15 minutes before letting us know she would be with us shortly. The manager asked us if we would move to a smaller table while we waited. My elderly companions politely declined. We eventually got our order taken and our drinks delivered. It was another 40 minutes of waiting for our food before our overworked server realized she didn't put our order in. It happens. Mind you the whole time we are waiting no one checks on us or our food. No one will make eye contact, so drink refills were not easy to get. The manager is completely unaware of anything going on in the restaurant other than shooing away our first server. She walks around while noticing nothing and contributing nothing to the customer's experience. She should not be in charge. There was no rush on our forgotten food and no discounts offered. We were there almost two hours waiting on service, food, refills. Just waiting...on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good at least and the server apologizedfor forgetting to put our order in. We spent almost $50 for 3 hamburgers and fries, soda and a shake. The servers make their own drinks and no one checks on the tables except that table's server. The manager is responsible for how badly this store is ran. As busy as it gets, there should be someone making the drinks and checking tables for refills. The manager should be aware of the tables. A lot of workers were standing around while our server was drowning in tables and can't keep up. I wouldn't go back to this restaurant. Parking is expensive downtown as well. I love downtown though.

When we first got to the door someone told us they'd be with us in a moment. There was a lot of empty spaces, but I don't know what took so long. We didn't have much of a the time limit, which was on us. It was about fifteen minutes of standing there, Until someone came for us. And let me tell you there was a lot of empty seats. no workers. Luckily, it didn't take us a long time to get in our orders. We told him immediately. We were ready to order because we were in a hurry. So we ordered now here's the thing it took us thirty five minutes to get our food. This is not a restaurant, it's a fast food place. Six of the minutes are food was just up. On the counter at the top. There was only one guy in there. Taking the orders bring in the food bust in the tables. The table next to us had got seated at some point through that thirty five minutes We waited for our food. They waited for about fifteen minutes and no one ever came to take their order , and they just left. It looked like one girl cooking, the food. One girl was making shakes, so one guy was doing like everything else, and i'm not sure what this manager woman was doing other than occasionally, bringing someone in and then going in the back. They were definitely short staff. food and it was just average. We had an hour before our tickets across the street at the grim tour. We did manage to make it there with one minute to spare. Yes we ate that fast lol. These times are all the actual times because I was watching my clock. The whole time i was nervous. I did not provide any photos of food because I was in a hurry and forgot.

I waited 10 minutes just to order when I was sitting at the bar everybody just standing around talking in the kitchen and I waited like 25 minutes for food. I never got it so I left. because I was trying to eat before I go to work if I would wait for my food, I would be late to work I was disappointed because I have been here before and I really liked it

Fries were terrible, taste and looks. When I came to be seat. One server looked at us but didn't seat us (she ended up being our server as well). Weren't greeted by the other server who was at the stand to wait people. She was fighting with the manager about how to do a job. The kitchen cook had to tap her shoulder to help her be aware of us. Our server, the gal who didn't help us earlier, didn't table touch, refill our drinks, or ask us how things are going. Then told us we need to pay barely 10 minutes later, when we got our food 5 minutes prior, because she "needs" to leave. She still have left, neither was she preparing to leave. Will not come back.

Seated quickly but it went down from there. They forgot my drink, the serving of fries was tiny for the price, and when the drink arrived it was half ice. If they do refills nobody offered. The cook is working with airpods in which is a big food hygiene issue where I'm from. Overall I felt like they don't care about what they do. Poor value for money, poor service, won't be back As I left there were tables still uncleared from 15 minutes before.

Stopped by New years day for lunch, was a few customers but not too crowded, Our server Adrian was polite and did his best. But because of the size of the restraunt you can see and hear everything his coworkers were saying and doing. A lot of playing around and inappropriate talk. The cook had a full beard with no hair net and employees eating candy with who I assume and off duty employee because he kept going around the counter? This all with a manager there and older women who was wearing a blue shirt. When the food came out burger was ok, Philly was burned crispy meat with few onions and no peppers, and the fries and tots dark from being fried in old oil. Was going to speak to manager but when we left she was across the street smoking. I understand she might be on break but she is still representing the company and thats not a good look. Also I thought they had a theme of playing 50s music? That might of helped drown out the nonsense ,Never going back ! Ps daughter said shake was good

Waitress was unfriendly, didn’t crack a smile, forgot to put our order in, we waited 45 minutes for 2 burgers. She seems to be miserable and hates her job. Still tipped her but regret it because she didn’t deserve it.

If you’re expecting quick or decent service, this probably isn’t a place for you. It took a while for someone to seat me, even though multiple hosts had come out and made eye contact. The food wasn’t hot & the fries were bland. There was something hairy stuck to one of my fries at the top, so I’m unsure how they served it to me because it was visible. My waiter didn’t check on me and by the time he did, I was done eating. I’d asked for a refill that didn’t come until it was time to pay my tab. Overall, it seemed like all of the staff was a little confused and weren’t really sure what was going on.

It's definitely not worth the price. The service was unwelcoming. We ordered our drinks, and the waitress took over 5 minutes to even bring them out. The food was not great. I added bacon to my burger, and it tasted burnt. The burger itself wasn't as good as I was expecting. The burger didn't even come with fries like a meal, so we had to spend $4.99 for an order of fries. The service itself was no good. The waitress or whatever she was just kind of avoided us, and we were the only people in there for about 20 minutes. We kept checking what time they closed because around 6:30, they were making it seem like they were about to close down so we felt a bit rushed.

First I'm NOT even the type of person to complain.Not from here but this seems like the theme in SA my food gets messes ALL the time no exaggeration, sorry this is the final straw everybody bout to get a google review. Anyways Today I went to Johnny Rockets for a quick lunch break with coworkers. I ordered the Spicy Houston burger and asked for the tomato on the side. When the food came out, I immediately noticed the tomato was already on the burger, and after taking it off, I realized it wasn’t even the Spicy Houston burger — it was the Original burger instead. By the time I could notify the server to show proof, everyone else was already done eating. Since my lunch break time was basically gone, I told her it was okay and I’d just eat it instead of waiting for a remake. After everyone paid and left, I was given a check for the Original burger. Then the server came back and said someone else had paid for my meal, and I would have to pay for theirs. I didn’t even have time to dispute it, and at that point the whole experience had already gone badly. I didn’t get the burger I ordered, and I ended up paying around $20 instead of the $13 and change my meal was supposed to cost — for food I didn’t even order. On top of that, I still left a tip. It was only $7 difference and I should let it slide but it's the principles. Overall, very frustrating experience, especially for a quick lunch break. Mistakes happen, but this was handled poorly.

Didn't even place order. Stood at counter patiently. Woman with blue shirt was at the registering front of me twice, did not acknowledge me. I asked her is this where I can place an order, she says I didnt see you...my response was how do you not see a whole person standing in front of you but you saw two other people standing 3 ft away from me. Terrible service. I just left. I really wanted to eat there too. 🙄

Oh my goodness, don't go here. We waited to be seated, but never got seated because a FIGHT broke out between two waitresses! The tables were dirty. It was such a shamble. We ended up leaving because it was already slow and no tables. I'll never go back. Really a bad experience. I'd put a zero if I could

VERY disappointing!!! Service was terrible, food was just there no real flavor, very greasy(what I would expect from a convenience store not a sit down restaurant). My son's milkshake was melted by the time he got it. Chess fries were fries drowned in nacho cheese from a can. When I spoke to the manager to let her know my concerns she gave me the excuse they were busy and short handed. Then made the smart ass coment you want to come work were hiring. Prices were high for what we got. We will NOT be back!!!

Food was average expensive for no more than what you're getting. Service was excellent waitress was very nice and attentive. But the overall experience for the first time to go to one was not that great don't plan on go back.
