I have driven by here several times. My wife and I finally decided to try it out tonight. The food is good. I didn’t care for the stuffed crab - it lacked flavor. Service is average. I noticed they had a lot of orders to go. The place is not that big but they are certainly consistently busy. I would come back again.

I had the Jerry favorite. Everything was well cooked and fresh, but the main reason for the 4 star rating is because the food lacked seasoning. Service was friendly and helpful, and the building looked clean and well maintained.

"Good food, they serve you way too much!"This was 7 years ago Today, March 2025, Rudy's Seafood is still going strong. Rudy's Seafood takes credit cards. Rudy's Seafood has a small dining area with self-serve drinks. It's a family owned business that has thrived in South San Antonio. It's crazy busy during Lent and on Fridays, but the wait is worth it. Their fish comes out hot and crispy, and the fries are normally hot and fresh. Biggest draw back is that sometimes the wait can be over 30 mins. So if there is a wait, check out the San Antonio Spurs murals that decorate the building.

Dislike 1. I waited an hour for my food 2. The picture is how I got my food, with the fish all torn apart 3. The fish and shrimps had no flavor whatsoever 4. Fish and shrimp were not very crispy Liked 1. Tartar sauce was good 2. Oysters were okay 3. Hush puppies however were very tasty, my thing was if you can season the hush puppies why not the fish as well 4. Service was good

Food was okay. But not hot, just warm. Probably under a heat lamp in the kitchen. Fish wasn't crispy. Fries were floppy. Soda machine was broken. So I had to drink tea. Very small dining area. Friendly cashier.

I used to love coming to eat fried fish here but something has changed. The fish breading no longer tastes the same as well as the quality of fish. It saddens me how the quality has gone down but the prices have gone up. If it wasn't for the nostalgic feelings and memories I wouldn't keep returning.

Nice pricing and tasty treats. Stopped in for lunch with my coworker and was overall impressed by my meal. Things were both plentiful and flavourful

I've been going to get fish from Rudys for a very long time and I know its got to be the best fast sea food joint on the south side of San Antoino but when I order an extra peace ov fish to complete lunch for me and my wife with out spending extra for another full plate that we would probably throw away couse its to much for us to eat we can afford it but dont like wasting good food but if you don't like to SELL an extra piece well don't and say so couse we don't like to give our hard earned money away I'll let it go one or two times but it happens everything the extra piece of fish that I pay for is always apiece that is found at the bottom that got left there from the last cook if it happens again the Heath Department is coneing to see you. This is a very good place to get good food and we dont mind paying for it But come on Rudy.

Today was my oldest son's birthday. We got there around 10:47 am. We got down at 11 am and waited about 4 minutes outside, until 11:04. No one came to the door. Outside the door and on Google it says they open at 11 am. Bad business.

Am sorry I have lived here in San Antonio over 30 years and The fish had no flavor … the soda is flat … the fries have yet .. No seasoning…. The only thing good was the Serrano pepper 🌶️ tbh …

Fish is good, unfortunately, I never get my whole order, they leave out my hush puppies of some other products.. I only go here because of my boyfriend, loves the food and it’s a very well known family restaurant. I rather go to la guna Madre restaurant. At least they honor the food that they leave out, Yeah

⭐ 1 Star Review Rudy’s Seafood has really gone downhill. The fish tasted old and unpleasant like it came from the Riverwalk, not the ocean. The tartar sauce was sour and tasted spoiled. They were out of rice because their rice cooker was broken, and for the price, it’s just not worth it. I paid around $40 for a one-piece fish and a three-piece meal, and the quality was nowhere near what it used to be. Very disappointing experience. I won’t be returning. Hopefully, management takes this feedback seriously and focuses on improving the food quality and consistency.

Very disappointed there fish had no flavor and ther burger looked liked from McDonald's the from the value menu the for a cheese burger no drink no fries just this thing and it wasn't even real meat was $9 and 3 sodas was $8.50 and the fish I had 6 normal sizes and the other 3 where a quarter size of the others smh also hush puppies where burnt very disappointed I remember loving there fish I wouldn't care about price if it was good but i had to put lemon ketchup tarter and hot sauce just to give it flavor frys didn't even have salt never coming back they have changed alot they did do a face lift on place looks very nice still super small but love what they did with the place restrooms need a huge improvement super hot and small. Definitely will not be coming back
