We stopped by on a Monday afternoon and sat at the bar. The bartender was super attentive, and she crafted some really great drinks! The highlight, though, was definitely the food. The chef made a special batch of shrimp tacos that were absolutely out of this world. Seriously, I’m hoping those end up on the menu permanently! The manager was also very friendly and knowledgeable, giving us some great insight into the history of the place. It was nice to have such a personal touch to the visit. Overall, a fantastic experienc delicious food, great drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back Shout out to Melonie the Bar Tender and The Grinch!
I had such a great time at this Mexican restaurant. The food was full of flavor fresh and honestly just made me smile from the first bite to the last. The whole place has a fun and welcoming vibe. Ana at the bar really added to the experience. Her drinks were delicious and she kept the energy light and friendly the entire time. She is warm attentive and you can tell she enjoys making people feel welcome. If you want tasty Mexican food and good vibes this is definitely the spot. And if you sit at the bar Ana’s service makes the visit even more enjoyable.
A night at Salsita Mexican Restaurant of San Antonio is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that promises an authentic and delicious experience. My recent visit was truly outstanding, and it's all thanks to the incredible food, the amazing service, and the wonderful staff. First and foremost, let's talk about the food. The Tacos de Pork Belly are a culinary masterpiece. The pork belly is perfectly cooked to a crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside perfection, and the flavors are simply divine. They're a perfect example of Salsita's commitment to using fresh ingredients and bold, authentic Mexican flavors. The chilaquiles are another showstopper. The rich tomatillo or chipotle salsa, the perfectly fried tortillas, and the generous toppings of cotija cheese, onion, avocado, and cream create a symphony of textures and tastes that is unforgettable. It's a dish that warms your soul and satisfies every craving. And what's a fantastic Mexican meal without a fantastic margarita? Salsita's margaritas are nothing short of amazing. They're expertly crafted with a perfect balance of tart and sweet, and they're the ideal companion to every dish on the menu. While the food is the star of the show, the service makes the experience truly exceptional. Our server, Melanie, was an absolute delight. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she made us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for throughout the entire meal. The whole experience was elevated by her friendly and professional demeanor. Finally, a huge shout-out to the manager, James. He was visible and engaged, ensuring that every guest was having a great time. His leadership is clearly reflected in the happy and efficient staff, and his personal touch made us feel like valued patrons. Salsita Mexican Restaurant isn't just a restaurant; it's a destination. With amazing food like the tacos de pork belly and chilaquiles, unbelievable margaritas, and a team led by stars like Melanie and James, it's a dining experience you won't soon forget. I can't wait to go back!
Update, new owners with push toward authenticate Mexico favor. Chips served warm and a creamy jalapeño sauce with just the right amount of heat. We had the three taco lunch specials included an order of white quaso and chips. Margaritas were made just right. We will be returning to explore more of the menu. Old - review. Have fun at this Mexican restaurant, they have a nice menu of what you would expect. Service was very attentive and our food was hot and fresh.
My husband and I always pass by this restaurant and we were both curious. Let me tell you ! This place is amazing ! Let’s start with the taste of the food, we ordered enchiladas, tacos a agua Fresca, guac and chips and dessert ( now I hardly every order dessert) everything was above my expectations and my past experience with other Mexican restaurants. Also, the quantity of food is the perfect portion. Now if you ask my Latino husband he will tell you he was expecting more food but that’s because he is use eating huge portions. The portions for me was perfect, which it allowed me to have room for dessert ( churros ) , which normally I’ve had bad experiences with churros ( I have inside joke with my husband ) but this ones were very warm and soft and once again the portion. Now to top it all off what’s a great variety of MUSIC, I don’t know about everyone but if you give me good food and music I’m sold. Lastly the decoration and the quality of the utensils were very well thought out and beautiful. ** disclaimer for the half eaten food but food looked too good to think about pics first 😝 **
I had the enchiladas divorciadas, and I enjoyed every bite. The cantarito was so good that I’m still thinking about it. Spiders Man had the cheese quesadillas—he’s a little basic—but he was delighted with his choice. My husband had the chicken empanizado. He threw in the towel with just a few bites left, but he really enjoyed his plate. The fact that he couldn’t finish lets you know the portions are generous. Needless to say, I’m ready to go back. Love the Mexico 🇲🇽 atmosphere.
Literally my favorite restaurant in San Antonio, I had tried their other location near the pearl, but was amazed by the amazing vibes and food in this new location. THIS IS AND FOREVER WILL BE THE MOST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTAURANT in San Antonio. It is run by a true Mexican family, who seem so hardworking and kind!
We visited on a Saturday around 4:00 PM and were seated right away at a cozy booth for two. We ordered the Ribeye Tacos Gaoneras (without onion and cilantro) and the cheese enchiladas. The tacos were perfectly seasoned, and the charro beans that came with them were packed with flavor—savory without being overly salty. The enchiladas were just as delicious. Service was excellent! Our server was managing a large section, but she was attentive and efficient, never missing a beat. Of course, we couldn’t leave without indulging in dessert—the warm chocolate cake with cinnamon ice cream is a must. The cake was rich and decadent without being too sweet, and the cinnamon ice cream was the perfect complement. It never fails to impress! All in all, a fantastic dining experience from start to finish.
Amazing place! When a restaurant has many decorations, it just lights up everything. You cannot help but keep staring at those decorations that are so beautiful. They also have a outdoor dining for your convenience. The waiter was very attentive with a smile on his face. The food was mad delicious. They have all kinds of drinks as well. They even provide you with a bottle of water that has cucumbers flavor in it and twist of lime. Please, whenever you are near the downtown area of San Antonio, I recommend this place for a quick or long bite. You will not regret it.
This place is amazing. The food is PHENOMENAL!! My Goddaughter picked this spot for her birthday dinner. We were a table of 14 and had attentive service the entire time. The food quality and taste absolutely blew us away. There were NO complaints even from the picky eaters (kids that are 3-7 years old). The margaritas are very good however if you’re not a big fan of spicy margaritas, you might want to pass on the drinks. HIGHLY recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
The food and service was really nice, and laid back . Atmosphere was vibrant and lively, a great place to stop grab a bite and a drink then keep on moving in my opinion. I had the ribeye tacos, charro beans, and birria tacos. Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary.
We went on a weekday and there were a few people there. I think the weekend would have been better to go. Since on their IG page, the food and drinks look amazing. We only had their queso and chips, which were delicious. We will be returning soon to check out how their nightlife atmosphere is. I wasn't able to get the picture of the queso and chips because we had been eating them..lol
Love the atmosphere here, especially the patio area. Amazing chips and salsa! I really like the fish tacos too. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the drinks. They were made incorrectly and too sweet. But, we told the staff and they removed it from our tab which was very courteous. A little pricey, but that’s just the RIM. Overall a great Tex-Mex experience.
I really wanted to give this place a fair chance after Tiagos closed down, but unfortunately it fell short of expectations. While the service was outstanding, the menu was limited mostly to tacos—and I had been looking forward to enjoying my favorite Angus burger. On top of that, chips and salsa weren’t complimentary and the margarita was so overly sweet that I couldn’t even finish it. They also did not serve Pina Coladas for a Mexican restaurant surprisingly. The food itself was just okay, but honestly, there are plenty of other Mexican restaurants that offer better value and far better margaritas. Overall, I left disappointed… and wishing Tiago’s was still here.
Salsita’s newest location at the Rim. Use to be Tiago another Tex-Mex restaurant. My honest opinion of this restaurant is subpar. The area, location and visual is great to include the service. The DOWNFALL is the Food. Not sure how long this place will last. But they need to work on their menu. The menu is very limited. Drinks are not bad, good bartender. Wife and I ordered basic fajitas. They were small portions, no seasonings, they even charged for shedded cheese. Tortillas were store bought to include the corn ones. We were expecting more. To be honest I won’t be coming back to this restaurant. Very disappointed. There’s definitely better options at the Rim or La Cantera. Take this review grain of salt. My personal opinion.
Food was horrible. Everything from the meat to guacamole and even the tortillas tasted pre packaged. The corn tortillas were as if they took them right out of the bag and put meat on it. The quesadillas were %95 greasy, low quality, chewy cheese %5 heated up chicken. And for a $3.50 up charge for chicken that’s outrageous. The queso was probably the worst queso I’ve ever had. Definitely since we had to send it back because of the HAIR in our chips with the queso. Already disgusted I got my tacos. I ordered beef and pork belly tacos. Both tasted and had textures of premade heated up freezer meals. Charging 11.99 for that quality should be illegal. Our waitress was fine and she refilled up my drink when it was empty. That’s about it. Do I recommend coming here? ABSOLUTELY not. Torchys is right next door and it’s 50x better than this.
