The vibe is great here and the food is excellent. I really enjoyed my slider combo. You get to choose a three different sliders from your choice of their signature burger so you get a lot of different flavors in one meal . I loved it. Its a must try.
This place is a dream come true. Ya see i play in a band and they had the vibe and the green room just right. They had good food. My family came out and had a good time. They had good sound man. It was like I was on tour 😪 😭 😔 😩 😢 😫 cant wait to come back.
Dove by this place many times but this was my first visit. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered the green chile burger and it was served fresh and hot. The burger had a good meat to bun ratio and was very good a satisfying. The sweet potato fries was already very good. Atmosphere was very lively. Overall I give it a 10.
If you haven't yet discovered this hidden gem, you're in for a treat! Sam's is a haven for anyone who loves a good burger. Nestled in a cozy corner of the city, this spot serves up juicy, mouthwatering burgers that are sure to satisfy. The star of the show here is their classic cheeseburger, perfectly cooked with a melty layer of cheddar, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, all sandwiched between a perfectly toasted bun. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that leave you wanting more. But let's not forget the sidekick to this main event—the onion rings. These golden rings of joy are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. They are the ideal accompaniment to any burger on the menu, adding a delightful crunch that complements the savory goodness of the burger. Whether you're a burger aficionado or just looking for a satisfying meal, Sam's is the place to be. The warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make the experience even better. Don't miss out on what could easily become your new favorite burger spot
We came inside and saw a small line to order food then filled our drinks at the drink fountain. We then sat and had our food brought to us after a while. Paid 44.61 (including tip) Food came out quick and tasted so good. Everything is separate, like you pay for the burger itself and if you want a side/drink thats an extra 4-5 bucks. We parked across the street. There’s a family bathroom and a unisex bathroom.
So I ordered just a bun lettuce and tomato because I’m avoiding certain foods right now. It was so delicious and the people are so friendlier so amazing. I absolutely love it! And they have music here on the patio bonus. I know Taylor has. I am so surprised, but the bun by itself with the lettuce and tomato is so delicious so that explains why the people who eat burgers enjoy it here. Absolutely amazing.
I love this venue. I've been here so many times for band concerts. They always have quite a few of my favorite bands play here. Nice little outdoor spot to hang out. service is okay. Never had any …
The burgers are freakin amazing! The live music was great! Bartenders were friendly and made us some amazing drinks! Will be back!
Great burgers with great ambience! parking can be an issue. We found parking around the corner. Very relax atmosphere.
We found this by accident. We were at the Pearl area trolley stop and my husband looked back over his shoulder and saw the building. We walked there and were instantly greeted by friendly staff when …
Friendly and casual with great food. Good atmosphere. Not far off the Riverwalk. Loved the fried pickles.

Had the bacon cheese burger . One of the best I have had in Texas. I also tried their fried Mushrooms that had a wonderful organic taste thats hard to describe , There is a separate building…
Went during lunch time and It wasnt too busy. When we arrived there was no indoor seating, but a table had just got up after ordering so we sat down inside. It was pretty chill, not too noisy, the license plate decor was pretty cool to look at. We ordered with a server named Ethan and MY first impression, didnt really like the tone in his voice when he was speaking with us. It seemed like us ordering was an inconvenience to him. We got our food pretty fast and it was cooked nicely. The burgers definitely lack some flavor but otherwise it wasnt horrible. The chicken tenders we ordered for my little one were nice and crispy. I like how the tater tots were not overcooked. Free refills on the drinks. I dont think I would come back though, we were in the area and I've seen others talk about this place and wanted to give it a try. It was good, but not $58 good for the 3 things we ordered, drinks and fries were an additional charge.
This was our first time to eat at Sam’s Burger Joint. The atmosphere here is perfect for the cuisine that they offer. The food is wonderful. I had the guac and jack burger and it was so good. My daughter had the chicken tenders and they were huge and very good. The hubs ordered the monster burger and he absolutely loved it. Sam’s is definitely going on our save list so we can make sure we come back to eat here when we visit San Antonio. Thanks, SBJ, for a wonderful lunch experience. Until next time. 😊
After 12 years in SA, we finally had dinner here. The burgers were decent, but pricey if you add fries or onion rings. The best part is the decor. Vintage rock posters, most of them framed, plaster the walls and ceiling. The staff let me stick my nose in their performance venue next door. I'll have to come back for a concert!
Glad we finally visited. "Gourmet" burger joint (my description, not theirs) so expect to pay a lot more than at MickieD's. Burgers are made to order and by default our medium, which I prefer. My deep fried mushrooms were excellent! Some of the best I've had anywhere. The fries were on point too. Interestingly, the burger was well cooked and prepared, but strangely somewhat tasteless, as if it needed seasoning. One "con" is that it's fairly pricey: monster burger, fries and a drink with tip was $30.00 🤔 Still, I would definitely go back and feel like it's one of the better burger places in the area. Nice work, Sam's!
Came with the family here on a Sunday afternoon. The hostess was nice and helped us get our order in. The place wasn’t too busy. There wasn’t many people so I would expect the tables to be cleaner. We ended up eating outside since most tables were sticky and not clean. The burgers are good. They do have the beyond burger for a plant based option. We tried the burgers, chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, onion rings and sweet potato fries. I have to admit the best were the onion rings. The burgers are good. If we’re in the area we’d stop by again.
I liked the diner. The atmosphere was really cool, diner food. It's not a fancy place but the food is good and the place is right next to the Pearl without the crazy prices that the restaurant at the Pearl have. Nice place to have a bite and walk around the market on Saturdays. The inside looks really cool.
This was my first time here and had a nice lunch. Quality food with a great flavor. Fries were cooked perfectly and crispy. Not too busy at the time we went. Cool vibe and a lot of people go to listen to the bands that play there. There is a lot of parking if you pay but if you want free parking you have to get lucky or drive in circles. That was the only issue we had. Good burger spot if you're craving one.
I would say avoid this place if you don't want to end up paying $50-$70 for just two people. Way over priced for the food they give you. Other places got better burgers for a a lot less.

9 outta 10. The blonde lady at the register could smile a little more and they could be a little more efficient but other than that, I went to eat so the food didn't disappoint me.
The burger itself was good -- juicy and flavorful. They advertise it as 1/2 lb, but honestly, it didn't quite seem that big.\n\nThe place has a cool, laid-back shack vibe, which we liked. But here'…

Not very impressed the couple times eating here. Food was plain, flavorless and disappointingly small portioned. The price was eye gouging for the small size of food ordered.

The mushroom Swiss burger is delicious. The restaurant is nice and seems historic. The customer service is subpar. The cashier was not friendly at all and very stoic and had the audacity to ask for a tip. A tip for what exactly? I’m not being served table side and it’s $21 for a burger, fries, and a drink. My tip is paying for the food. Overall, it’s ok.
Atmosphere was nice, liked all the license plates, old signs, and old band pictures etc. You order at the counter and the ask for a tip! I asked for no pickles iny burger and my daughter asked for no tomatoes on hers, both had pickles and tomatoes, we just picked them off. Bacon was chewy so when you bite it pulls everything off the burger. Great beef smell when you walk in, but the burgers didn't have much flavor and were very greasy, we (I ) paid $103.59 for burgers!, I would never go back, not the worst, but not worth the price.
A bit over-rated... The burger was somewhat tasteless... However, the fried pickles were awesome! Both cashiers (females) need to step up their customer service skills or go to work in the oilfield. Would I patronize this place again? Probably not. 🤷🏽♂️
Average but at least they have military discount. \nI think it's weird to pay & tip before you're served. \nThe thin lady bussing the tables is very nice.
Let me start by saying my food was really good! The reason for my 3 star review is because of their military discount rule. Apparently you have to be in uniform to receive the discount. As a prou…

Stopped in for lunch. How about a fritos burger! They have a varied menu, something for everyone. It was tasty.
We went in for dinner. The location wasn't busy. The location was clean. We did take a few minutes to look around at the license plates and pictures on the walls. We looked at the menu, and the add a side and a drink for an additional $4.99 turned us off. I'm sure the food is great, but burgers, drinks, and a side for $40ish wasn't going to happen for us.

This place used to be good along time ago. Overpriced burgers that have no flavor cost between 12-15 per burger not included was the fries and drink so adding that is additional 4 to 5 bucks per person. Small size beverage cups. Plus we ordered a patty with no seasoning and it looked like a frozen cafeteria pattie. If you are looking for a good burger and a great value meal try burger boy you will save a lot of money and be satisfied with your meal. You can feed a family of 2 for about 20 bucks but at SAMS BURGER JOINT a family of 2 will cost 42.17 that was with an additional cafeteria pattie size small plus we paid cash and did not even get the correct change back 😡😡😡😡😡🤮🤮🤮🤮
