Chris and his staff at Caliente are amazing! They have the best breakfast burritos. I've had last minute breakfast orders to cater for 250 people with food restrictions and he was very accommodating on a short notice. The prices are reasonable. I recommend trying them out!

I got the chicken rolled tacos with guacamole and they were perfect. I forgot to take a picture of them because I was so hungry. My boyfriend got the Al pastor tacos and I had a bite of one, they were so dang good. Prices were so affordable and we'll definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious and scrumptious California burrito! Eat it with the red and green salsa👌🏼 the place has a convenient little patio to eat your food and chill. If you’re in the area and hungry DO NOT pass this place up. I was so satisfied that I needed to leave a review 😊

A really nice little Mexican spot with nice outdoor seating. I had the veggie burrito and it was definitely tasty. Their red salsa has a really good kick to it, I would definitely recommend it if you like spicy food. Burrito was a decent size and I would recommend you give this place a shot if you are in the area.

Great little hole in the wall. Nice and clean shrimp and fish tacos were off the hook. Mexican music playing in the background takes you to Baja. Double tortillas like it’s supposed to be.

Food was great. I got a Cali burrito, flavor was there and everything combined well. However, my wife got a carne asada burrito and it was extremely greasy. The entire bottom half ripped apart by the time she got to the middle from so much grease. Not the type to complain in person.. otherwise I think it may have been a one off.

Caliente Mexican restaurant is a typical San Diego taco restaurant at the end of Carmel Mountain road and intersection with Sorrento Valley Road. They have a great patio area to relax and eat your food. I had a carnitas taco which was excellent and the rolled tacos which were just ok. Staff was friendly and service was very quick with reasonable prices.

Truck driver delivering tomorrow. Hit this jus at the rite time .Supper time!!! Honest I love me some El Pastor and it’s very very good here. Recommend El Pastore burrito with the green sauce. So I was in the area and looking for Mexican food, and based on the reviews Caliente Mexican food stood out. Upon eating there I am led to believe that these reviews are just based on the Mexican food options that are around here. Because if you love Mexican food you definitely want to avoid this place. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito with three rolled tacos came out to 8.99 . So I was thinking great deal right ? Wrong . The burrito was all tortilla with the child size portion of Carne asada and the faint Green that see in the pictures is the guacamole they barely put in there. So at least the rolled tacos would be good right ? Wrong again. These rolled tacos tasted like something you would find in a frozen food aisle. The red and green salsa not hot what so ever but they did have some flavor. I would not recommend this place.

Food was good. Service was terrible. It was like the girl was pissed that she had to work/interact with someone and I was the only person in there and had the most simple order. I literally ordered my food, paid, TIPPED and asked a question and got an attitude and a damn near eye roll. What the hell is that?! I just recently got a new job in the area and I was grabbing lunch before a meeting. Gonna check out some other places in the area to make my go-to lunch spot. Definitely will not be this place
