Every cocktail, appetizer, entree and dessert was a delicious work of art! The menu is unique and the dishes deserving of Michelin stars and the chef a James Beard award. The Mezcal de Granada was creative and refreshing. The flounder was amazing, as were the corn cake and homemade Mexican chocolate ice cream. My family was surprised and thoroughly impressed!
Came here for chilaquiles after seeing the good reviews and they delivered 🔥 I got the verdes sauce (normally a Rojos girl) and they did not disappoint. The chips were crispy, the sauce was flavorful, and the refried beans underneath them were perfection. Only complaint is that the portions were HUGE and I couldn’t finish everything. Would 10/10 come here again.
Food, Service and Atmosphere is excellent at Cocina De Barrio! I'm a repeat customer at this location and I always get the cafe de olla to start with while looking at the menu. On this visit I ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes with Birria plate. Very delicious meal and the portion is the perfect size. They well package any to go plates also. I Highly recommend this restaurant!
Great experience. Walked right in & were greeted quickly as well as seated. Food is freshly made, tastes like a home cooked meal & the servings are incredibly large. I ordered the veggie hash, which was lovely. So much potato & veggie goodness. Leaving with leftovers, I had enough for 2 more meals, for a great price-under $20! Staff are kind & attentive. Highly recommend.
This is definitely a restaurant you’ll want to try! Everything I have had here is delicious! Today I had enmoladas, mango aguachile, and three cocktails which were over the top fantastic and decorated beautifully. I am Latina so I normally don’t eat at Mexican restaurants because they’re too American for my taste. But this is one I will always enjoy coming to because the food is authentic, delicious and visually pleasing. All the employees were very attentive and kind.. If you haven’t eaten here, you gotta check it out.
My bf and I decided to come try this breakfast spot and we weren't disappointed. Our waiter Alberto was very kind and attentive, he made sure we weren't missing anything! He provided exceptional service and made us feel welcomed. I had the lamb sopes and the meat was very tender and well seasoned. The nopales were very good as well. The french toast with churros and the flan is a must try! Not too sweet and very tasty!! Service: 10/10 Food taste : 10/10 Parking lot: Yes, lots of parking. We will definitely be coming back.
I’ve been to Cocina De Barrio a few times, and each time I’m taken aback by how incredible it is. Everything you order is visually stunning and bursting with flavor. The menu strikes a perfect balance. It’s broad enough for everyone to find something they’ll enjoy, while still being honed in on high-quality, traditional Mexican flavors. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. For my girlfriend and her friends, the highly competitive sport that is ordering bottomless mimosas was made even better by our waitress, who hyped them up and always asked for their next order as they were finishing their current glass so she could have it ready. If you’re a fan of well-crafted cocktails like me, the drink menu similarly fails to disappoint. I highly recommend El Pionero, even if you’re not usually into mezcal. It’s a vibrant mix of citrus and tangy lime, balanced by a hint of smokiness and a savory black salt rim. One thing to keep in mind is the wait during a busy brunch. As far as I know, they don’t take reservations for brunch, and your whole party needs to be present to get on the list. I’ve waited about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the day, but it’s well worth it. Overall, Cocina De Barrio is an incredible experience that all San Diegans should absolutely try at least once.
This is a great spot for brunch. Super creative brunch cocktails, the food is unique and good quality but somehow still very authentic. They have options for all, you can’t go wrong here.

This place is a must for a good Mexican brunch! Our table ordered the green cilaquiles, chorizo hash, and the enmoladas. All of these dishes were loaded with flavor. Absolutely delicious! For drinks: The Cafe de Olla was great, along with the Paloma. The michelada was not the greatest, and I will not be ordering that again. We didn't try any of the sweet plates, but I did see them at the table next to us, and they looked delicious. Fun family-friendly atmosphere. Not stuffy, just an enjoyable place overall.

The food was delicious and not your typical enchilada and taco type fare. This was coupled with helpful, friendly staff and a beautiful atmosphere. 5/5 we loved it!
Fantastic food. Near Pechanga arena. I’ve gone several times before the Gulls game, and walked to the game from dinner.
Our meals were delicious! We had mole short rib and chicken and pork tacos guacamole and soup! Beautifully plated - so elegant and all equally flavorful. Would be nice if space could be warmed up - maybe softer lighting for a cozier atmosphere but server was terrific and could not have been happier! First time there and will def return.
Very nice place and food is BOMB! We paid $300 for 8 of us half having lunch other have breakfast food ..drinks could have had more liquor in them however I guess they said it's lunch time but hey I'm on vacation.so serve that liquor no baby drinks for me please ..
Just came here with my mom the other day. The food was really good. Chewy helped us and We started off with the agua chille (if that’s how you spell it) then we had the guacamole with the chicharones, birria tacos, and another set of tacos. Chewy gave us all kind of recommendations for drinks and the food. Everything he recommended, even the matcha salsa I think it’s called was all really good. Super helpful, appreciate you chewy. We’ll be back!
Amazing!! We have tried the Hillcrest location and decided to try this one, phenomenal. I got the Chilaquiles and they were so flavorful with a good amount of spice, I loved them. Their beans were sooo good too I could have eaten a bowl of them. My partner loved her omelet and beans as well (and she doesn't usually like beans). Our server Alberto was amazing, attentive, and funny. The decor and vibe of the place was great too? Super cute. Will definitely be coming back to this location.
Went for Happy Hour. Wasn't busy but service was a little slow. Ceviche was great, tacos were tasty.
Love this place, very authentic flavor! Service by Alberto was amazing providing helpful information about the plates. My only recommendation is that draft beers are not cold. But other than that 5stars
Great food and great service. The Arroz con leche pancakes were amazing. 😛👊 The pork ribs in green salsa with hand made corn tortillas were💣.com (Sauteed nopales with rice/black beans shaped like a pyramid 😎 and the corn tamal pairs up well with the whole dish) Green chilaquiles were on point! Coming back for the margaritas with paletas next time for sure! ❤ Enjoy this hidden jem in point loma. 👍
This is a high-end gourmet Oaxacan restaurant. They have flights of Mezcal and Tequila to sample and fancy specialty drinks. I tried a Mezcal pineapple drink and a Pomegranate Popsicle Margarita. Both were delicious! Dinner was wonderful. The Lamb Memelitas with queso fresco was divine. Next visit I want to try the Atlantic Salmon wrapped in Banana leaf with Mole sauce.
We came here for a New Years celebration and wow! What a way to end the year! The food was fantastic (as always) and of course, the service was 10/10. Edward was the best! Highly recommend!
This place is the real deal. So far, I’ve only been for brunch, so I’m reviewing that menu. If you’re at all inclined toward café de olla, theirs is quite good and def worth getting. The bottomless mimosas are $20 which feels a bit pricy to me, so I went with sangria by the glass instead. I can’t think of a more delicious and refreshing white sangria anywhere else. Fresh pineapple juice and ginger really make it a refreshing, effervescent delight that tastes like a ‘health juice,’ rather than an over-sweet wine. If you like sopes, the sopes Benny is amazing! The lamb birria is super flavorful and tender. Also tried the chilaquiles, which were on point. The black beans tucked away under the chilaquiles were pretty perfect. I will def be back! Esp since this location has great, easy parking.
Delicious food and their alcoholic drinks look good too. We were here for lunch and had a meeting to attend after so we'll have to come back for their drinks another time. Service was good too with a very attentive waiter today. My friend brought me here for their chilaquiles. I loved it. Very flavorful salsa and tortillas were nice and crunchy.
The food is delicious! Third time going there and everytime the quality of the food is there. I'm very selective on the chilaquiles and I appreciate that they are nice and crispy tortillas and that they actually toss the chips in the sauce and not pour it on top like other places. Their creme brulee French toast is amazing.
My favorite restaurant in SD, this place rules. Cucumber marg and ceviche was great. Tacos were elevated and the salsa rojo was great too
Always delicious, innovative takes on traditional Mexican cuisine. Gourmet taste, fantastic moles. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Drinks are amazing too.
Stopped in here earlier to grab a bite with my lady and was blown away! Our server Jonathan took great care of us and recommended some great drinks as well as his favorite dishes. 10/10 experience he really made us feel at home and gave us some good laughs, next time I’m in town I’ll be sure to stop back in and hope he’s there. The Chilaquiles are 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing brunch at Cocina De Barrio! The food was delicious, we had the churro French toast, robalo al ajillo sea bass fillet, with a side of eggs. The rest of the menu had some interesting choices we will have to try next time. We sat on the dog friendly patio. The service was friendly and quick. Definitely recommend, one of the best brunch’s we’ve had in a while!
Perfect place for a morning brunch. First, I recommend coming here prior to opening on weekends as lines can get long. Menu is very fairly priced and has something for everyone. Pancakes are arroz con leche were well executed and delicious. Ambience reminds me of most restaurants in Tijuana, showing it’s welcoming Hispanic/Latino vibe.
So happy we found this place prior to our stay in San Diego!! They had the best breakfast, we stopped here 3 days in a row to try out different dishes! They are quick, friendly, and have the best churros & French toast!! 😋❤️🔥 And that green avocado salsa 🤤😮💨👌🏻 Presentation and food are top notch!!

BEAUTIFUL FOOD and DRINKS! We are from out of town, and Googled the nearest Mexican restaurant from our hotel, and CDB popped up. Decided to try it with a little doubt. Modern Mexican restaurants are usually a hit or miss for us, but I'm pleased to say that we were blown away by our experience! FOOD was perfect! Their AGUACHILE was some of the best I've had. Fresh, tangy, slightly spicy and sweet. Beautiful presentation, and it came with purple tostaditas. CHICKEN MOLE was also one of the best I've had. So much depth of flavor..smoky, nutty, slightly sweet omg!!! Came with some veggies, sautéed cactus rice, and beans. KID'S CHEESEBURGER was a proper cheeseburger. Meaty, juicy, cheesy, and the portion was huge. My son loved it. DRINKS were perfect, too!!! They taste good as they look. Strong, and you can taste the quality of flavors. We got the OLD FASHIONED, MARGARITA with Tamarindo popsicle and LA MUECA. Great service and great atmosphere. Our server was attending several tables at the same time but was still able to give great service to us. NOTE: It's expensive and there's no free chips and salsa 😁 but trust me, it's worth every $$$ Will definitely be back when we are in the area!
Delicious! My party of 4 shared the French toast and churros plate and absolutely loved it. It was sweet buttery goodness with caramel ice cream on top. As my main entree I got chorizo hash which I recommend for savory lovers out there. My wife got the sope dish with lamb birria which was melt in your mouth. We washed it down with popsicle margheritas. We will be coming back!
My family and I just had breakfast here and we consist of a child and a baby. We felt so welcomed and comfortable, it was great! The food was absolutely delicious. Birria chilaquiles Mole ribs Kids French toast Everything came out together ! Nice and hot (shout out to the cooks ) My highlight though was an older gentleman who is cleaning the tables and brings water I believe they said his name was Don Robertito. He brought my older daughter a cup of water with a lid but let us know he made it room temperature for her since its cold and he wouldn’t want her teeth to hurt… with out us asking and my mom heart just melted. I am so glad they have Such a kind caring person working there. Our server was also fantastic ! He made sure our orders were perfect and checked in on us at the perfect times ! 10/10 recommend to families !
This place was beautiful. There is indoor and outdoor seating but since we came on 3/6/2024 it was very rainy so we sat inside. My family loves coming here every birthday or father’s day because the food so so delicious and well presented. Every time I eat there I make a joke to my family that the plating on these dishes is so beautiful, it could be on masterchef. They have a good deal of vegetarian/vegan options. Which I’m always excited for as a vegetarian. But the vegan dishes are so good- one of my moms favorite dishes is vegetarian, even though she eats meat. She says she could easily be vegetarian if she only ate from this restaurant. The severs were super on top of everything and were so amazing and awesome. I’m an anxious person, so sometimes when I order I’ll end up speaking a bit too quiet- But the server we had picked up on every thing I said and never even had to ask me to repeat my quietly said orders. Then, later on the same server asked if I needed a box and I said yes. Then after they left, I realized I may also want a small container for my sauce, but I didn’t want to trouble them for it and I was getting stressed out even thinking about asking for more boxes after they already had grabbed them and making him go all the way back to get more. But, when he got to the table- he had brought me a small container for my sauce! It’s like he read my mind! It reminded me of in the TV show The Bear when one of the main characters does a short apprenticeship at a super fancy michelin star level restaurant, and he’s learning all the things they do there. One of the things he learned was to find out what the client wanted before they even did. For example, he overheard them saying how they were sad they wouldn’t get to try deep dish pizza while in new york- so the guy has to run down the street, pick up a pizza, re-plate the pizza so it looks all nice, then he brought it to the table and they were all so happy- saying,”You did not!!! You read our minds thank you so much!” That was a bit long winded of an explanation but in that moment where he got me an extra box, I felt like the ladies in that show, he read my mind and gave me exactly what I needed without me even having to ask. Thank you for the wonderful experience, I know for sure you’ll be seeing my family there again.
We went on Sunday afternoon and were surprised to find out they only had the brunch menu available. Our waiter informed us they're the only location that does this. Everything that we ordered was very tasty and we'll be returning to try their other menu. The only negative and it has nothing to do with the food...the patrons next to us were extremely loud and drunk. They might have had an offer of endless Mimosas or something because they drank and drank and drank some more.
The menu at first glance seems a bit daunting. Michelle (our server) was amazing, she explained the menu, AND she not only checked menu items regarding various food allergies (with a huge smile in her voice and banter) when she placed out orders she took the time to type in the food allergy for each order. The food was WONDERFUL lots of Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Plant Based choices. With the FANTASTIC service and tasty food we'll be sure to visit again when in San Diego.
Can’t rave enough about Cocina de Barrio — my new favorite Mexican restaurant! We went for my birthday and were blown away. They have great options for plant based and meat eaters, the presentation is stunning (and I’ve got high standards) and the food was even better. The mole is out of this world and my daughter won’t stop talking about the squash blossoms. Benjamin the bartender crushed it both on cocktails, and in adapting them to be mocktails for the non-drinkers. (Pro tip, if your drink doesn’t come with a popsicle, ask for one! SO good) The service was amazing, our waitress Karen was so on top of it (even with our big, high maintenance family). Parking was super easy too. Do yourself a favor and go! I can’t wait to go back again (and again, and again).
I came here to celebrate. Wait time was shorter than expected. The food and the drinks came out in a timely manner and the waiter was very attentive. Everything tasted delicious and all the extras we ordered came with the food. Also I love that they put my toddlers drink in a portable coffee cup and gave her stickers to play with! It kept her entertained and I did not have to bring out the phone!
I have been here a few times, I do recommend making reservations prior. This is one of those places where anything you order on the menu is delicious and fresh which is a difficult thing to achieve for most Mexican restaurants. My favorite menu item was the mole because it tasted very similar to my mothers. I highly recommend eating here!!
My first experience with this restaurant was for dinner at the Hillcrest location, I realized I wasn't very impressed for some reason but really glad that I gave them a try again this time in Point Loma for brunch. LOVED their selection and happy that our dog was able to join us in the outdoor patio, just beware of long wait times on weekends (an hour for 2 of us) but so worth it for great service and food and will definitely be back. Plenty of parking and a variety of bottomless mimosas are available, highly recommended 100%
After being turned away from the University location, I brought the same group of 10 to the Point Loma location to celebrate my son’s birthday. The difference in experience was night and day. We were seated immediately. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and professional from the moment we walked in. Everyone was treated with respect and genuine hospitality. Although we never explicitly announced it was my son’s birthday, the team picked up on it and joined in singing Happy Birthday. They kept drinks filled, checked in consistently, and made sure our large group was comfortable throughout the meal. It was exactly the kind of experience you hope for when celebrating your child. The service team made the night special, and I’m genuinely grateful for how they handled everything. If you’re choosing between locations, the Point Loma team understands hospitality and how to treat guests. We’ll absolutely be back.
cannot say enough how great this place is!! from the friendly and professional staff, to the incredible food and refreshing drinks, this is by far my favorite stop in the area. my favorites are the tacos de birria (they have beef or lamb options, both are great but the beef is my personal preference), the ceviche de robalo & xoconostle, and the sopa Azteca. they also have an INCREDIBLE happy hour from 3-5pm Monday through Friday, featuring their amazing margaritas (fresh squeezed lime even at HH price!) shout out to Grecia, Chuy, and Edward, for their consistently warm welcomes, tasty beverages, and spectacular service. oh, and for bringing my puppy water and suggesting the side of chicken so he can have fun too (dog friendly patio is a huge plus!!) 🙏🏼♥️🙌🏼
So good we went back the same day for dinner. Had a late small lunch of tacos, happy hour margaritas and ceviche. Waiter was really nice and enthusiastic. Came back for dinner. The mezcal cocktails were particularly enjoyed. Unique menu with lots of intrigue. Relaxed atmosphere.

Returned to Cocina De Barrio for lunch. This time I ordered the Portobello tacos 🌮 they were delicious 😋 the tacos were very well seasoned. The black beans were good and the rice good but could have had a little bit more seasoning. Would I order these tacos again? Of course I would... they were delicious 😋 The waiter was very nice. I also ordered chips and salsa... the salsa was extremely delicious and served with chips that were perfect because they didn't salt them 👍🏼 However usually at Mexican restaurants you're served chips and salsa at no charge, as it's a staple appetizer. However this restaurant charges $10 dollars for the chips and salsa. 🤑 Finally I ordered Flan 🍮 for dessert, this was really good 👍🏼 served with fresh berries 🫐🍓 however they will dust with powered sugar... I recommend that you ask for no powered sugar... a true Flan 🍮 only has the caramelized sauce and that's it! When you start americanizing a dish, you start taking away from the culture of the food and presentation. Overall my meal was very tasty and delicious 😋 Will I return... of course. I may not order the chips and salsa but definitely try a different dish.
The food and drinks were excellent. Our service person was not attentive, we had to go pay our bill at the bar after waiting 15 minutes for our waiter to take care of it
All in all, my food was pretty good. One thing I need to remember is to remind them to serve my food hot. I dont like it when the cheese barely melts on my beans. That is my preference not so much their fault.
We started with having 30 minute wait time and that ended up being an hour and 20 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. The food was worth the wait because it was so delicious and fresh tasting. The Churro French toast tasted so good but was super sweet. The salmon hash was the perfect savory dish. We also got bottomless mimosas and tried all the different flavors. I sort wish they brought juice and the bottle to the table so we didn’t have to wait on our waitress to come back. Everything was delicious. This is an awesome breakfast place!
I stopped in for brunch at Cocina de Barrio and ordered the veggie hash. It was super filling. I even had leftovers to take home. I loved that I could customize it by adding soyrizo and avocado, which definitely elevated the flavor. The dish had a bit of a kick to it, so if you’re sensitive to spice, just a heads up! My only critique is that I wish the veggie hash had more veggies and less potato, but overall it was a tasty and satisfying brunch option. The vibe was chill, service was friendly, and the brunch menu has some tasty looking, creative options for plant-based eaters too. I’d definitely come back to try something new.

Had brunch here today. It was crowded but the wait wasn't very long before our group was seated. I wanted to come here because I saw the drinks with the popsicles in them on their website. I ordered the La Tia Chata which is essentially an alcoholic horchata. The popsicle was like a horchata popsicle and had pieces of coconut...honestly I was full off the drink alone. I did order the veggie hash which was okay. It would have been nice if the home fried potatoes were seasoned more and cooked with onions - that would have made all the difference. I'd go back though when I have a sweet tooth so I can try the Creme Brulee French Toast. My friend had it and I took a bite of hers, and WOW!! This place does not take reservations but they will take down your name and call/text when a table is ready. Parking is meh...they share the parking lot with Grocery Outlet, Denny's, and a few of the smaller stores, so just keep that in mind when you pull up. Oh, and Stephanie is an awesome bartender with flawless makeup...if you see her, PLEASE tell her to capitalize on that and make some side money! I already told her but that girl has a gift! K bye!
Unique and authentic, different from your usual SoCal Mexican food. Not the most exciting location as a standalone building in a sad shopping center/strip mall. A bit pricey but tasty, good margaritas. Has an upscale vibe compared to your usual casual Mexican spot.
I got the pineapple upside-down pancakes and they were pretty good. My family enjoyed their entrées also. Service was good but could have been a little faster. I know they had several larger parties while we were there, but we ended up there for 2 plus hours and we had a lot of time sitting around waiting to place our order.
The culmination of a wonderful holiday week in San Diego was a New Year's Day brunch at the Point Loma location of Cocina De Barrio. There's a lot going for this spot. The food was delicious and the interior of the restaurant was obviously created with care and attention to detail. We ordered chilaquiles (both verde and rojos) as well as an omelet. The food came out fast, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I've had amazing chilaquiles before, and something kept this one from achieving that "amazing" characterized IMO. But it was great. Service-wise: the place was barely 60% occupied yet we were told (with no one else waiting) that we would need to wait for a table unless we sat on the patio. It was a bit chilly so we opted to wait, and while we were told it could be 30 minutes, we were sat in just 5 min. We were told the patio had no heating, but as we walked by it, there were clearly space heaters there - just not offered to us. We waited at least 15 min for our server to appear, after which he apologized. From that point on, absolutely no issues with service. The price point was excellent. All three of us ate for about $30/piece, although we didn't have alcohol after a long New Year's night celebration last night. 🤪 🍾 I'd recommend this place, and I'd come back. But I probably would try a non-holiday weekend and might even give the San Diego location a try. The vibe here was pleasant but not a live as I expected for New Year's Day.
Amazingly delicious and beautiful food! Cocktails are creative and stunning. Service is great!! I would give it 5 stars but the smell of the cleaning products were overbearing and the dining room is very loud due to acoustics. I’ve eaten on the patio twice and it’s nice when the weather permits. I even caught the fireworks from Sea World.
Sounded great when I saw the reviews and read the menu. But was somewhat disappointed. The presentation of the food was really nice. But it ended there. The drink was medicinal. The mole was not great. The rice was bland. And the handmade tortillas were rubbery. Atmosphere was okay and tended toward "instragrammable" decor. And they were only serving a limited menu of brunch and wouldn't take any special orders from their regular menu. Not happy as the regular menu had more interesting and Vegan options.

We ordered the shrimp tacos and we got 2 shrimp per taco. Could have been better on a chip. Service was good. Mole is not authentic mole more like spicy sauce with chicken breast.
The food was good and the servers were attentive and helpful. But, the atmosphere wasn’t the most enticing. The vibe at the Hillcrest one is much better, but they may be working out kinks at this one. The green ceviche was really tasty, and I loved the churros. I had a popsicle margarita which was beautiful. We sat outside, and there is some “messiness” expected with being outdoors. But, it still felt a little grimy and unkept. I was distracted by some press-on nails that the previous guest had peeled off and left next to the table.
We were not very impressed with this place. On the bright side the place looks nice and some flavors are on point. On the dark side, it is pretty noisy, service was slow, way overpriced and my chicken mole was super dry. When I asked for more sauce to compensate the dryness of the meat I was told that it would come at extra cost 🙄just silly And the drinks were just so so for $15 each

I've been to the original location in Hillcrest twice, and had a great experience both times. Thus, I was eager to check out this new location in Point Loma, but left feeling so disappointed. I ordered the chorizo hash, and it was terrible. First off, it was more of a soup/stew with the amount of liquid (oil) in the dish. I've never had hash with such a soupy consistency. The potatoes were also a little under, and hard to chew through. The whole dish was very one note, and didn't have much flavor aside from the chorizo. I do not recommend this dish. +1 star for the efficient service and delicious cocktails- if you like horchata, try the rumchata cocktail with the coconut popsicle!
Birria tacos were decent, however the Aguachile negro the sauce consistency was nectar/gelatinous I didn’t like that at all, really alters the taste. Service from waiter was great. My low rating comes from being disappointed as to how dirty the restroom were. We were there for Sunday brunch and it had not been to busy. Also we were there for a while (well over 2hrs) and the whole time there, no one checked the bathrooms. I’d recommend they be check hourly at minimum. You could tell they had neglected to check bathrooms for hours. 😩
The people were great and everything, but the food not worth it… got an aguachile de mango habanero but the sauce was not it! Then the chilaquiles were salty and the sauce wasn’t good either

Food was overpriced. My friend and I both had hashes and they were 90% potatoes and there was a lack of seasoning. $10 for chips and salsa too, whereas most Mexican restaurants bring that out as a complimentary starter. Also, basic brunch dishes are $25+ and then a service charge for labor on top of that. Way overpriced for what it is.
I like the food, but I’ve never had a pleasant dining experience here. The reggaeton music is always blaring too loud and today an employee was sitting right behind me, first blasting her phone with some kind of demonic noise that never ended and then having her loud drama argument on the phone. I asked her if she could tone it down and she said she didn’t speak English. The table was super dirty and sticky, I had to ask the bus boy if he would clean it much later. The waiter, an Edward C seemed disinterested so I didn’t leave a tip. Maybe ordering to go in the future will be a better option. They seem to have no clue about having a welcoming and pleasant environment for patrons.
Wednesday 29. We Went there for dinner. We got the tlayuda and the short ribs mole. It had a good flavor the food. But I don't know what the chef is doing. We both got sick with the food. Not coming back to this restaurant in special. I will give it one more try to the other locations, but please Wash your hands and use clean utensils. Change the water in the dishwasher machine
I thought I'd try try this location since I normally go to Hillcrest. On January 1st the I stopped by for breakfast. The enmoladas were terrible and so was the Cadillac margarita. The service was like an obligation instead of attentive. I didn't finish the food because the taste was not there. I know this because I am a regular at the Hillcrest location. Its upsetting that you go to a place, you are not a demanding customer and expect your $20 + plate to at least taste good. I don't think I'll be coming back.
Look, from my perspective I don’t think that this food is authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered the huevos rancheros and the enmoladas. The “mole” is more of a distasteful red salsa. My husband who eats basically anything left a good amount of food behind. The waiter was unfriendly and seemed bothered. The star I leave is for the young lady who nicely greeted us and took us to our table. She deserves the star for her positive attitude and good vibes.
