I had a great experience at Crab Hut, and a big part of that was our bartender/server, Jez. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Everything came out hot and fast, and the portions were generous. Jez was awesome—super friendly, attentive, and on top of everything from start to finish. Drinks were always full, orders were accurate, and the service felt genuine and welcoming. Jez really helped make the experience fun and stress-free. Great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. I’ll definitely be back and hope to be served by Jez again!

My husband recommended this place. He hasn't eaten at Crab Hut in 14 years. So he was excited to finally eat some Shrimp! I am not a fan of seafood. I went knowing they'll be some non seafood options. I ordered the Cajun fries and wings. The wings were battered and fried. I like the wings a lot because it wasn't too salty. I like the texture of the wings and how crispy it was on the outside. You get 2 ranch and 2 ketchup with it. I ordered the Cajun chicken pasta to share with my husband. Let me tell you...that was the biggest pasta portion I ever seen in my life at a restaurant. It was an amazing amount of pasta!!!! I enjoyed the pasta, it was cheesy a bit of garlic with some spice. My husband loved the shrimp; he was eating it up. We got a whole table cover, gloves, bib, and a mini trash on our table. I love how well the staff work together. They were so efficient and organized. I've witness multiple staff members work together to clean a mess at a table and put up new cleaning materials for new customers. You can tell they care about their job. Also would love to recognize Kevin our server. Kevin was outstanding. He was tentative and caring. He would refill our drinks without asking. Regularly check on us. Didn't rush us to leave. I hope y'all end up with Kevin as your server. 10/10 will come back again.

An incredible meal and seriously the most attentive service. Will definitely be back. Prices were totally reasonable for the amount of food but also how delicious it was. I’m typing this about to slip into a food coma. Please do yourself a favor and come to Crab Hut.

I come from down Louisiana way, and I am very skeptical of someone saying they're a "crabhut" in California. However, the Crab Hut had excellent food and the gumbo was acceptable. Mariana, our server, was great she helped two out-of-towners navigate. Come in, you won't be disappointed 😇😇

We were craving seafood and didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for small portions by the beach. We found this place in a small shopping center. Jason was our waiter and did a phenomenal job of explaining their procedures and menu selections. We ordered the "s and s" and the chicken Alfredo plate. Both were stacked with protein. The only thing that I question, and not a knock to them, but I was under the impression that seafood would be cheaper because you're closer to they bay, but it's not. The restaurant charges an 18% surcharge on every ticket, which they notified us upon entry, then asked for a suggested tip afterward. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Thank you, Jason.

The seafood was extremely fresh, snappy, and juicy. The service was great and were very attentive. Be sure to ask what market price is from day to day. I got the king crab legs and that was 70 by itself, a little more than I was expecting, but not a huge problem. So, a half pound of shrimp and the legs alone came to over 100 dollars. I would comeback just to try all the sauces. This is a must if you're looking for some flavorful seafood.

⚠️ Gluten Warning – Crab Hut on Convoy St (San Diego) Just wanted to share a heads-up in case anyone else has been going to Crab Hut on Convoy St like I have. l've eaten there many times over the years and was always told their boils and sauces were safe for gluten-free / celiac. This is not a review for quality of food. I believe the food is delicious. As someone with a food restriction, it is difficult to eat places and feel safe. This is no longer a safe place for me to eat and I want to warn others with a similar food restriction. This week I found out that they actually put a "secret ingredient" in their boils that contains gluten -- and they wouldn't tell me what it was. The staff member said they've always used it, and that "a lot of staff don't know about it." I was really shocked because I've specifically asked multiple times in the past if it was gluten-free and was told yes. It also explains why l've had so many random stomach issues lately without being able to pinpoint the source. When I tried to ask for more info or see if anything could be made safely, the lady just said, "It's ok, you don't have to eat here." Definitely not the response l was hoping for. On a positive note -- we ended up going to Crab Town nearby, and they were amazing! They boiled a separate pot of water just for me and brought out butter and lemon on the side to avoid cross-contact. Just wanted to share in case anyone else with celiac or gluten sensitivity has been eating at Crab Hut thinking it was safe. Be careful!
