As a transplanted New Yorker I'm always on the lookout for good pizza and this place has it. Even Donald Trump would love it as the slices are HUGE! The only thing that would make it better and more Brooklyn is if they would make it thinner crust. Its a bit doughy, but that won't stop me from going back. Maybe San Diegans like it that way. Afterall, some people here think Domino's is pizza.
How you doin'? You want a decent pie? Fugget about it! This place is money, bro. Come get a slice or two. Good NYC style pizza is hard to find out here. This place is worth driving out for. They deliver too, if you're a lazy bum like me! I've ordered their largest pizza for a party. It was Y U G E ! 🍕
If you're from NYC you know that thin crust is what we want. This place has it. Their Philly cheesesteak sandwich is also great. Just ask them for whatever extras you want and they will do it. It's not warm and fuzzy... it's a real NYC pizza joint.
Very delicious food and good prices
Hands down best pizza in town recommend anyone in the area stop by thank you for the amazing pizzas Sam!
I am 26 years old, I grew up in San Diego, moved when I was 8 to South Carolina. This pizza has been on my mind for 18 solid years. I fly back home when possible and was only able to get a slice once when visiting. This pizza literally was a huge part of my childhood and special to me, we couldn’t even fit the box in the front door without tilting it, this place will forever have a spot in my heart
This is my husband's favorite pizza place he refuses to get pizza from anywhere else. It's great because we can just walk down there and pick up a pizza. I also love it because I can get a small pizza or a really really big pizza. I love that it's family owned and operated. My daughter loves it because she can just get a slice.
The Food is Fresh, Fast and Fantastic 👍...
So let me speak on my credentials first. I'm a native of Queens, NY. I lived in South Jamaica, South Ozone Park and St. Albans for 17 years so to get that out of the way...Being new to the area (after being stationed here 18 years ago) I decided to try to find some NY style pizza, so naturally I googled it and Giant New York Pizza came up. Anyway, i came in and the staff was very friendly. I didnt want to start out big so I decided to roll with two slices. Let me tell you this:. The slices are GIANT, just as the name of the restaurant proclaims. Then I took a bite and I was in love with it. Great thin crust, sauce, and cheese just like I like it! I'm not a young man anymore, so honestly one slice satisfied - again, they are GIANT, so luckily the gentleman who assisted (sorry I am horrible on names after one encounter) gave me my pizza in a "to-go" box anyway. I recommend you take the opportunity and take a ride to Giant New York Pizza! It was nice and chill in there (I know I am from NY but coming from that I appreciate quiet and as little drama and beef as possible) so I was able to just relax and savor my slice. It was great to feel like I was back in NY for about 20 minutes!
Out of the last 15 years in San Diego that we’ve been looking for pizza places, this is our favorite. The wings can be touch and go but the pizza and calzones are top notch. We recently moved to Chicago and miss GNYP greatly. I won’t even eat the pizza in Chicago (deep dish or regular), because it’s just not the same... depressing almost. We really love and miss Giant New York Pizza.
I visited this place for a party and they delivered the perfect amount of pizzas that I had requested for a party of 50. The pizzas were amazing, and the ranch dressing was incredibly delicious.
First time here. Visiting from L.A. very nice staff. Good pizza
Best pizza in San Diego. Personal preference.
One of the best pizza places we have found in town. My husband is from New York so it was important we found the closest thing to real NY pizza. I wouldnt say this is as good as the pizza you will get in New York itself but its the best you will find on this coast!
I thought it was surprisingly true to New York style and very delicious, I'm still going to put East Coast and Bronx Pizzas at the top of the NYC styles, but if you're in Pt. Loma, I recommend it. Unless money is no object, Then, of course, go across the street to The Venetian for the Best in Town, that or Little Italy's Fillipi's !
we used to live next door, and it is my 17 year old's favorite pizza ever! even though we moved to La Jolla, we still go to them for special pizza occasions! family owned and run,, they are very friendly and make a most excellent Giant New York pizza!
Nice place, great pizza. Definitely recommend it.
Highly recommend for a party. Great price and delicious. Ordered on the website which is actually delivered by a 3rd party but had no issues with my order. 5% discount for ordering online also. 28” pizzas are GIANT. Literally requires 2 people to carry. Get them double / square cut for smaller pieces. Will for sure order again!!!!!
Best pizza in Mission Valley area.
We have vacationed several times in Point Loma and found this gem. Be careful though! The LARGE hardly fits through a door. We are from NY originally and the quality did not disappoint. It was a great treat after a long day at the beach. Great value!

I ordered two slices that were enormous, and fresh and hot, the man working was incredibly friendly and nice, the crust was thick and the slice thin, well proportioned and extremely reasonably priced. Atmosphere it's just a take out pizza place , not where you sit down and eat so , it's clean with plenty of condiments.
Was very impressed by their Chicken Wings. Big, juicy, and not soggy like most of the chain pizza places are in San Diego. I ordered them extra well done and they were cooked to perfection. Being from Upstate New York I am very particular about my wings. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very impressed by the crispy-ness and the taste of the hot sauce. Highly recommend. Just make sure to order them extra crispy/well done.
Best pizza place in town. Sam makes the best pizzas man
This place is so solid! Me and my boyfriend order once every week and we are never disappointed. The sauce is perfect and the crust has amazing flavor. It’s become our go-to football Sunday traditions to have this pizza and watch games.
We decided to visit this hidden gem after hanging out at the library for a bit. The pizza and wings we got were incredibly fresh and you can taste how everything is hand crafted, even the ranch that came with the wings. Absolutely delicious, we will be coming back.
Amazing service! Great pizza! Great prices! This is my go-to pizza shop moving forward!
The pizza was incredibly fresh, with perfectly cooked vegetables that brought out great flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and was pleasantly surprised to discover such a hidden gem for great food. While the seating area is limited, it didn’t bother me, the quality of the food more than made up for it.

The price is right and I got my order in under 30 minutes. I haven't been inside yet, but I had a very pleasing Philly Cheesesteak with 4 kinds of peppers (extra star for that), and a decent White pizza with added spinach. Thicker crust than I was expecting, but soft.
Pizza was very close to the real thing. Toppings could have been more abundant but they were tasty. Being from NY, I was expecting exact but that would be impossible because of the water. Prices are good considering it’s California. Would go back!
The food is good and affordable. The staff are efficient and prompt. The building itself lacks in cleanliness and needs fixing of room tiles, and a fresh coat of paint. But that doesn't affect the quality of their products or service and I would gladly visit again.
We ordered a large Hawaiian pizza. It was delicious! We'd order again.

It's really hit or miss. I ordered enough from this place to make this claim. Sometimes the same type of pizza is really good, yet on another day, the same order could be really mediocre. Odd, right? That's the way it is and I am not speaking only for myself. I have heard of others saying the same thing. I also think they cannot ace on their giant pizzas, unlike what the name of the business entails. Id say they are just giant and interesting shape wise. Try other sizes and you will be happier. I can't say I wouldn't order from here anymore as I love this place overall. But, I thought I should be fair to other businesses and reflect that inconsistency of the quality in my rating. So, try it once it twice and decide for yourself. I don't have a firm opinion on this one.
It's not 1the greatest pizza in the world. However I used to live near the place and I'd get a slice from here at least 3 or 4 days a week because it's huge, it's inexpensive, and I was poor. It's a great snack if you've got the munchies.
I really wanted to like this place a lot because I am ALWAYS on the lookout for new pizza spots that I love. Unfortunately it was just so so. I felt it was cooked OK for begin a thicker dough but overall it was very sweet tasting from the sauce to the dough and it also didn't have much flavor other than that. I probably won't rush back, I wouldn't turn it away though if offered. I got a Groupon and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this place. Definitely large pizzas which would be great for a group!
Litterally got the 20 in. Meat lovers pizza and instead got a nice cheese pizza with a sporadic placement of different meats. Payed $35 for a pizza that was light in cheese and meats. Would not return.
Good cheese sauce and toppings but the dough is very bland, and not crispy enough. Better local options for the price

Went with the basics... Large cheese pizza, chicken tenders, and french fries. All of which were pretty mediocre, likely 3 stars for food. I would almost compare the pizza to being similar to Pizza Port, but I think i'd much rather go with Pizza Port. The fact that I just compared this to Pizza Port tells you it's not really NY style pizza. I personally thought the dining area wasn't very clean. Napkin dispenser was visibly dirty, fan over the front door had filth growing off of it and even the "A" rating sign in the window was visibly dirty... needless to say things could be a bit cleaner in the establishment and for that reason, you're getting 2 stars. If you live in the area, get your pizza from the Venetian instead.
I spent $20 on a calzone, so it can be super thin and burnt. I come here because I can afford it, but I get ripped off on quality and quantity often when I come here.
I can’t even rate the food here, since my order was never delivered. Wait time was expected to be about 45-1hr, and it’s been over 2 so far. Tried calling the shop, and they hang up every time. Extremely disappointing, and unprofessional
Sucks. Don't waste your money. Spent over 100$ on a few pizzas for friends...everyone said they were wack. Go somewhere else.
Would give zero stars if possible. Received the wrong order and they were unwilling to fix the issue. STAY AWAY! Too many good pizza places in the area to risk it going here.
Disappointed!! Saw the decent ratings and decided to order 3 pizzas. We even ordered the $32 Giant pizza. When I was on my way there, they called to say they were out of pesto sauce and asked what I wanted to do. I asked for another type of white sauce like Alfredo but apparently they forgot the white sauce and the feta and chicken....so it was more like a $32 dry cheese pizza. The bbq pizza was ok, but a little tangy and not great. Also ordered a pepperoni but somehow (maybe from the app) it defaulted to mushroom. It was nearly $80 for the 3 pizzas and I was hoping for something more. Not worth the price in my opinion!
Ordered two pizzas, when they were delivered they were stale and looked like they came from Chuck E. Cheese. A frozen pizza from a grocery store is more appealing than what I recieved. I wish I could post a photo of it.
WORST experience EVER! Michael and John were super rude! Just dropped off our pizza to the front lobby without waiting for me to come down from my hotel room.... he left it at the WRONG hotel! Then proceeded to yell and me and my husband and refused to make it right. They told us we had to go get it from the other hotel. To top off no manager “available” until Monday.
I showed up at close to noon. And they had no slices available. I asked how long it would take. He said it would be at least a half hour. This is unacceptable at lunchtime, especially on voting day.
The guys were super rude and yelled at us when we asked if they sold slices. A simple “no we don’t” would’ve sufficed. Instead, the guy decided to make animated hand gestures and snapped at us. And for the record, pizza isn’t even that good.
The guy said that they didn’t have pizza and someone after me ordered pizza not too long after and got it just fine…
Hoped for a delicious friendly experience, guy couldn't understand i wanted a slice and the wife wanted a whole pizza, then blew me off took a call grabbed another customers credit card then pulled out some old looking cheese slices with bear hands and threw a couple of pepperonis on it also with bear hands, no washing or sanitizing with a dose of attitude. We walked out can't say if anything tastes good but definitely had a bad taste in my mouth from the guy at the counter, avoid at all costs. Also 8 bucks for a slice of cheese. No thank you.
Where's the Zero stars? My pizza was supposed to have pesto and 2 toppings. There were about 5 pieces of each topping on the entire pizza, if that. The artichoke hearts were really just a few leaves, no hearts, and there didn't seen to be any pesto at all. Will never order pizza here again. Delivery good, pizza really bad. I might have well just ordered a cheese pizza.
Rudest people I have ever encountered, literally do not know the meaning of customer service. Notice how all the low ratings say the same thing “rude employees with attitude” yup. I even see the owner replying rude things to these reviews, if you can’t treat your customers with basic respect why are you in this industry? Other MUCH better pizza in the area: pizza port, luecadia, Venetian, old Venice- do yourself a favor and go elsewhere
