Singapore fried rice noodles had lots of chicken, shrimp, pork and eggs (10/10). The spicy wontons in chili sauce were not spicy, and found them mild but still enjoyable.
I really like this place, the food was delicious, the fried rice was highly recommended, Ivan served us, he was super friendly the whole time and very attentive
Stopped here for lunch after hours of driving from Phoenix. I was surprised that there’s no customer there. We’re the only two. Anyway we ordered some dim sums from the menu. Each of us had the Shanghai Bun Sampler, and we shared the BBQ Pork buns and Shrimp Noodle rolls. The dim sum arrived quickly and they’re all hot enough. All the dim sum were delicious and we enjoyed it. Price reasonable and staffs were very friendly. Plenty of seats and nice ambiance. Recommend.
Easy vibe, not uptight or pretentious. Excellent quality, fresh, flavorful cuisine. Also an excellent value. I ordered three items, in honor of my mom & I (it’s Mother’s Day; she passed 12 years ago). Each item was bountiful & swiftly served (I have two more full meals left over). I even made it in time to catch the sunset! Greatly appreciative of a friend’s recommendation; I’ll definitely be back! Oh, & Sandy & team were awesome!!!
Great tasting buns, with delicious boba milk teas. Milk teas weren't too sweet which is good. Their Sliders and pork buns were super soft. I highly recommend it. Not enough staff though, but she was friendly. Nice atmosphere, quiet outside, and soft music inside.
First time visitor - happened during COVID-19. Staff was super friendly and made us feel comfortable choosing seating. Some indoor and some on back outside patio. They took their time to answer all questions and made recommendations. When the food arrived it was absolutely delicious! Fav dish by far is the salt/pepper calamari. It's out of this world and best prepared calamari I've ever had. We had a small grouo, but ordered a lot to sample as much as possible. I will definitely be coming back again... and again...
Gilbert was the best!!! Food was off-the-hook!!! This will be our little slice of heaven to enjoy great food !! Definitely will be our regular spot!! Update: 3/10/24: Gilbert is always rockin' it!!! And the cooks make the BEST Chinese food in San Diego, hands down!!
My husband and I stopped in for some snacks and beverages after running some errands in the area. Took advantage of their happy hour, and we are so happy we did! Great selection of small plates of dim sum and appetizer selections, and they have a decent beer selection (didn't check out the wine). TVs at the bar, tables inside and out back in a patio area. We will make this a regular stop!
Sitting in here right now. Atmosphere is chill, and the food is made to order and absolutely mouth watering. Try the BBQ pork buns!!
We've been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time, so finally today we did to celebrate Chinese New Year! Now we know what we've been missing, but not anymore! What a gem hiding in plain sight! A must try for all the locals! But shhhhh

This is a great place to relax and enjoy an excellent dinner! Lorenzo is very attentive and an excellent server. The food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I highly recommend this place!
The food and service at Shanghai Bun was really good. The Bulgogi Tacos are really tasty. They offer dine, carry out and have outdoor seating. On street parking is limited but they do have a rear parking lot. Will definitely go again.
I have been searching all over San Diego for Dim Sum that will satisfy my craving. I first discovered this delicious treat in Sanfran, and I've been hooked ever since. Super clean, and managed by a friendly and extremely helpful team. I can't believe I've been working in Point Loma for two years and didn't know about this little gem. I recommend the Shanghai Pork and Veggie Bun (4), so flavorful, yet so light. I could easily eat ten of these delicious pan seared buns. Everythingis fresh, so it does take a few minutes to prepare these dishes, but I promise you, it's worth the wait.
Love this place! I've been going here for years and the quality is top-notch. Everything on the menu is well-prepared but my favorites are definitely the shumai and chili wontons. They also have my favorite hot and sour soup. The staff are also very attentive and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough.
Came for lunch on a Monday. Shanghai bun combo was very tasty, the wrap for the dumplings were delicate and flavorful. I had the beef noodle soup and it had a lot of good gelatinous pieces which gave it the authentic taste and texture you expect. The war wanton soup was savory and lighter in flavor than the beef noodle and my husband thought the wontons were very flavorful and not soggy. A great local joint! We didn't try the cocktails but they looked inventive and fun. Had a great vibe and service was attentive and friendly.
Go to restaurant for Chinese food in San Diego - Point Loma. So many incredible dishes on the menu such as Mongolian Beef (tender slices of beef with green onion in a savory brown sauce), Ginger Fish (perfectly cooked white fish with bok choy in a light ginger sauce), and assortment of Dim Sum (I think I've tried them all and so tasty), Fried rice with chicken, beef and shrimp is out of this world. Great cocktails and friendly service. What more could you ask for?
Wanted a low key Valentine’s Day and we came to eat here . The food tasted fresh and the portions were good . The waiter went above and beyond to packed our desert .
Absolutely the best restaurant in my opinion. Love the atmosphere, service and food and the outside dining is cozy!! Food is absolutely amazing!!! Love this place and have been coming here for 3 years now!!!!

Man so surprised with lower 4 star review! Their dumplings are on point better than the dumplings downtown near gyro place. Also almost equal to the noodle house place on convoy! Thank you for reasonable price for community! The bbq pork buns are better than a few places ive had! Very decent with reasonable prices!
Great location, very quaint. I love that part of Point Loma. Great variety of buns to choose from, some are more tastier then others, but definitely something for everyone. The back patio is now dog friendly. I highly recommend the scallion pancakes and get the large sampler for the variety. Great happy hour as well. There is a small parking lot in the back and street parking.
Oh My God! What an amazing experience. I have had dumplings in the past, but not like this. I had the chance to try four kind of dumplings, shrimp, pork, pork and shrimp, and chicken. The Hot sauce was tasty. I tried the noodles with curry, shrimp, veggies, and meat, great. Tea, just good. Customer service very good. I will be back.
I visited this place on a Wednesday in the afternoon. The service and atmosphere was wonderful. I was looking to eat some dim sum and the quality is 5 out 10. It tasted like it was heated up from a market bought dumplings. But the egg plant stir fry was yummy and the salt and pepper calamari was awesome!
Decent spot to get some flavorful soup dumplings at a fair price! Our entree we got was from the wok chicken with the Szechuan sauce and trimmings. My only complaint was that it was very sweet. However it did come beautifully cooked with a large portion of chicken and wonderfully stir fried veggies. Service left something to be desired, but they got the job done.

Food is alright and service is terrible we got placed outside in the back area and pretty much forgot about. Waitress wasn’t nice and also I had tea and when I got a refill, I wasn’t told that I was gonna be charged another 450 for a glass of ice tea when the bill came I was quite surprised and the waitress was like oh I’m sorry. A specified it should be on the menu and she didn’t seem to care. Will not be back again
