YUM EXCELLENT The Dodge is the best. Probably the best thing is that you can just walk up and get fresh slices that are amazing. This is very rare. When you see slices they look limp. Here they are great! Best when you come during a busy time so it's absolutely fresh. Always great. The cheese alone is an outstanding crunch. ALWAYS GOOD Delicious Detroit style pizza with exceptional cheese crunch. Crust great. Everything available at the counter fresh or order your own style. True. SUPER DUPER... TOP SD RECOMMEND Pizza is delicious. It's crispy and it really hits. This is a very specialized place it's been there for 7 years and I think their hashtags are the freshest. They really specialize in a highly specialized type of pizza and it couldn't be more luscious. There's always fresh pizza at the front and you can immediately make one of many good choices. LUSCIOUS.... TOP RECOMMEND Square Pizza is one of my top recommendations for San Diego. This pizza is luscious, amazing and really special. One slice goes a long way, I'm a nutritious eater and these pizza slices are lucious. When you walk in your just going to find fresh delicious pizza right in front. UPDATING AGAIN This is a fabulous place to get a really delectable slice. I go to get the Dodge detroit-style Pizza I just get one slice and I put a little oregano, parmesan cheese and garlic salt on it and it is just a 10 out of 10. RECENT UPDATE Square pizza is an underrated hole in the wall. It's awesome. I truly definitely recommend this place and it's very well hidden but just off of Garnet two blocks from the beach. This is a strong recommend. I got the Dodge this time and I figured out that the missing ingredient for me is to add some parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano. That being said this is one delightful slice. Yes it's a little pricey at $6.72. however I'm highly nutritional and I appreciate the indulgence. To create satiation in my life. To sum it up, this is an awesome location with good service and lots of personality. Great style, good service and basically everyone there is a pizza enthusiast. They have detroit-style pizza and a few different styles and you can just get a slice or whatever you want. UPDATED REVIEW This is definitely a place to know about. On certain things this place is truly sensational. Crispiness and lusciousness of the eating experience is amazing. I had the pepperoni pizza and I definitely think the problem is too little sauce so I hope that they can add some sauce under the cheese as well as the sauce on top of the cheese which doesn't cover the whole thing and is visually beautiful but it needs more sauce. That being said this places near perfect I think it needs more flavor sometimes but this is a really interesting place that is a very cute little place that is filled with very professional people and it's really a niche place it's a very good place I think this place is worth taking note of. Hopefully they can add what it takes for me to be really satisfied because all around it's really delicious. OLDER REVIEW I definitely recommend this place.

An absolute must for San Diego pizza! There's many pizza and toppings combos with amazing quality. Staff has always been pleasant. There is no indoor seating but I've always been able to get a seat at the tables just outside the door. They do offer online ordering also if you'd like a quick pizza pickup!

Some of the best pizza I’ve had in ages! Was especially better for late night. The crust and thickness was perfect and the flavoring was on point. The sauce was perfectly flavored and the cheese/topping ratio to crust was very satisfactory. Sitting outside was super nice!

The pizza was quite good here, the sauce was generous and the pizza itself had a little more grease than I like but overall it was very tasty. It’s a Detroit style pizza with fluffy and crisp edges and we opted for extra ricotta which was a great add on. I wish it was just a slight more crisp on the bottom but that’s on personal preference. Would recommend coming to try it out if you’re in the area.

Pizza is phenomenal. We were familiar with Detroit pizza but not the other styles, all of which were fantastic. The thick crust styles were incredibly light and fluffy, yet crunchy and perfectly cooked. The gentleman who helped us was so helpful and informative on explaining the different styles and how we could order them. Too bad we don't live close or we would be here all the time.

Best Detroit style pizzeria in town. The crust has this amazing, toasted cheese crunch and the bread is so fluffy. My favorites are ALL of them, but seriously you can’t go wrong with any of the Detroit style pizzas. T-Bird, Firebird, Pontiac (2.0), and the Jeep are generally available for by the slice selection. The frozen take and bake pizzas are amazing value and reheat really well too! Only complaint is they are hard to reheat next day, but they still taste amazing regardless.

First time here. All the slices looked good in the case and had a hard time choosing, but ordered the Chrysler slice for $7.50. Large piece and was very pleased with flavor and crust. I’d say it’s a step up from Prince St. Pizza which is hard to say being from NYC. Service was professional. I’d go back.

We got a #9 Hampton thin pizza it was good but not as good as the Detroit style pizza with the meatballs. The flavor was there!! To the cheesy crust, soft inside to the pizza sauce/meatball cheese, so delicious! The ingredients are top notch, the employees are super friendly and professional! I was watching them take pizzas out and cutting them, they checked to see if they were done and up to standards, dedication right there. The price is just a tad more than I want to spend for two pizzas but I believe the quality and efforts they make is worth it. Thank you!

The first time we came here pizza was wonderful! My husband is dairy free and we both loved it. Order today was Meh! Almost no sauce And hardly any cheese 🤷🏻‍♀️(vegan cheese ) Crust was still yummy But definitely not as saucy/ cheesy Might try one more time

Fast and friendly service. Great value for the price. Food was decent. The BBQ chicken pizza was much better than the classic pepperoni in my opinion but in general the quality and taste was pretty good. The outdoor seating had a nice little vibe with the picnic tables. Would go again if I am ever in this area.

I ordered the Dodge slice. It was tasty. There was one slight inconvenience. I waited and waited for my slice. Everyone was served before me and I finally said something. Apparently they had given my slice to someone else. I would have liked to have been compensated with a free can of coke. I even asked a manager how much it cost and was told the price. It was warm inside while I waited. I’ve managed pizzerias in Chicago, fixing an error with something free always helps.

I was so excited to try a highly-rated thin crust beach pie. Unfortunately it was undercooked and cold in the middle . I put a square in my air fryer for a few minutes to crisp it up and it was great after that. I'll try them again, but in person so I can make sure it comes out hot and crispy.

My recent visit to Square Pizza left me with mixed feelings and a slightly lighter wallet. Despite hearing rave reviews about this establishment, my experience fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken aback by the prices. A 6 square pizza with vegetarian toppings set us back around $40, which seemed steep considering the portion size and quality. Despite the hefty price tag, the taste of the pizza was average, lacking the flavor and depth I had hoped for. Adding to the disappointment was the lackluster service. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, failing to enhance the overall dining experience. However, it's not all doom and gloom. The one redeeming factor is the pizza's texture – it's freshly made and boasts a satisfying crispiness that can't be denied. This, coupled with its square shape, makes it a convenient option for a quick slice, especially before or after a night of indulgence. In conclusion, Square Pizza may have its upsides, but they're overshadowed by high prices and lackluster taste. While it might suffice for a pre or post-booze session snack, it's not a destination I would recommend for those seeking a truly satisfying pizza experience.
