My family and I just had lunch here today and I have to say their food is very delicious. I always like whatever we get here, today we got the Cornish game hen with rice we also got the spinach (normally I am not a big fan of spinach) with beans and meat in it, which was also very delicious. Our server Daud was very polite and amazing he always makes us feel welcome 🙂
I had my wedding party dinner day 2 here. Food was amazing and service was impeccable. Will definitely host more parties here. The owner and chefs are great as well. Thank you for making my wedding party amazing. :)
Delicious Persian cuisine and a great experience overall. You order and pay at the counter, then they give you a number and bring the food straight to your table, which was easy and convenient. We ordered a few appetizers along with our meal, and everything came out together (not sure if that’s standard or just because they were busy when we stopped by), but the food was absolutely worth it. We tried the Shirazi salad, the eggplant dip, and I ordered one skewer of beef koobideh with white rice. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. If you’re craving authentic Persian food, this spot is definitely worth visiting.
coming from a middle Eastern the food here is great I recommend the 2skwer kabab for a good filling meal, dawood as our server was great and super friendly the white sauce and yellow mustard sauce was good and added flavor the hot sauce too. the prices were very reasonable for food of this quality at around 24 dollars a person for a family of six, I would highly recommend and come again
I would like to share my experience at Sufi Restaurant with you. The quality of the food is truly excellent, especially the koobideh kebab, which was incredibly delicious, juicy, fresh, and served hot. This time, I also tried the tahchin; it was perfectly cooked, and the chicken pieces didn’t have any unpleasant smell at all. I definitely recommend trying it at least once. As for the service, the waiters are very polite, patient, and genuinely kind. While you are in the restaurant, you feel as if one of your close friends is taking care of you.
I visited Sufi on 22 November with a friend, and we had a good experience. We ordered the Tahchin and Akbar Joojeh, both dishes were delicious and well prepared. The service was great; the staff member who served us was kind, respectful and genuinely pleasant throughout our meal.
Having tried dozens of Persian restaurants across Los Angeles and San Diego, I can confidently say that Sufi Mediterranean Cuisine in San Diego stands out. Their Cornish dish is exceptional — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked to absolute perfection. The freshly baked hot bread paired with sizzling kebabs makes every visit a memorable one. There’s something special about the way they serve it — right off the grill, perfectly charred, and full of flavor. What truly sets Sufi apart, though, is the service. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without being overbearing. Waiter treatment to costumers is like family — always kind, hard working, attentive and truly customer-focused. They always make you feel like a valued guest, whether it’s your first time or your tenth.
Searched a Halal restaurant after Friday prayer and I found this nearby me. Lovely atmosphere, good people, clean and good food. What else you can ask for. I will give 5 out of 5. Delicious food, must visit! Lamb shack I ordered and it came as I expected with a lot of green rice. Not too expensive I found it a budget restaurant.
Sufi’s has some great kebabs in the SD area. Service is half self-service where you order at the front, get a number, and then take a seat. Service done by actual servers was great, hence the stars. We ordered family style and the food was delicious and fresh. The koobidehs are great, especially the chicken koobidehs and chicken tandoori / thighs were juicy. The beef barg and beef shish kabob were slightly tough. They also have some nice spicy chutney that you can get on the side. They do get busy and the restaurant was more than half full when we went on the weekend.
My 2nd time here and the food is absolutely spectacular! Today, I tried their Chicken Tandori Kabob plate, the rich and savory flavors make the taste buds do a happy dance as you bite into the super tender meat, the meat is very well marinaded as you can see the deep red coloring throughout the entire meat. It's grilled to perfections, slightly charred outside with juice and tender inside. The rice is light, fluffy, and has a mellow yet very tasty flavor. The side salad was fresh/crisp, with crunchy Persian cucumbers, tomatoes, and a light and slightly zesty dressing, with 1/2 a grilled tomato.
We randomly stopped by this restaurant. People working there were nice but unfortunately they missed informing us of the very long wait times (~40 minutes!). We ordered chicken Sultani and chicken thighs. Kabobs were well cooked and tasty. We also had half salad half rice as sides. Salad was fresh. Unfortunately, rice had a strange taste. Suggestion for restaurant: Please let your customer know before receiving the order. It seemed very dishonest. Please check your rice quality. Recommendation for the customers: Make sure to ask the approximate wait time before putting your order.
The food is good, but by the time it reaches the table, it's cold. This is a self-service eatery where you pay upfront, and there are no waiters. There's a clear lack of management, but still, the food is good, and compared to other Persian restaurants, the prices are reasonable.
The worst restaurant and the worst service I have ever experienced. I invited my friend’s family and we waited for more than one hour and fifteen minutes. Every time I asked how much longer it would take, they kept saying “just 5 more minutes,” which was very frustrating. After all this waiting, a waiter finally came and asked us what we had ordered , which was honestly unbelievable. No one checked on us or asked if we needed anything. The service was extremely poor, they only seem to care about money and not about their customers at all. As for the food, it was even worse. Tasteless rice and meat with absolutely no flavor, like eating something with no taste at all. I was extremely embarrassed in front of the family I invited because of the bad food and even worse service. It felt like I completely wasted $185.
⭐ 1 Star Sufi Mediterranean Cuisine I usually enjoy eating at Sufi Mediterranean Cuisine and have visited many times. But today was very disappointing and will likely be my last visit. The meat was extremely bad — the taste and quality were nothing like before. It felt old and poorly prepared, and I couldn’t finish my meal. I hope the restaurant pays attention to this feedback and improves the quality of their food, because customers expect fresh and good-quality meals every time. The meat smells really strong that’s why we pot it on the other table.
I always try to support small businesses, but this restaurant does not deserve support. New owner must fire his chef and unprofessional employees behind the counter. Yesterday there were 2 events and all of us who were just individual customers and the restaurant had only 1, yes one waiter for the entire restaurant! Poor guy was running from table to table while 3 other employees were standing behind the counter doing nothing. Youngest employee behind counter was disgusting, rude, incompetent. He not only messed up the order, but kept rolling his eyes at customers while standing & doing nothing. Couldn’t he help the waiter to at least get the drinks or deliver some food to tables? I waited one hour and 46 minutes for my simple kebab which was so burned into charcoal, but I will add the picture. Food had no taste. There is no salt, no seasoning, no oil added to the food. Don’t waste your time & $, don’t go to this place. The only nice and professional person here is that poor waiter who has been there for so many years. I wish he was the manager & owner since the new owner does not have ability to run this place.
