Excellent customer service, relaxing atmosphere, smooth jazzy vibe, great food and fast service! Our favorite is the chicken BBQ pizza and the Antipasto salad. Dine in or take out! 💯☺️🍕🍝 Great selection of wine as well 🍷 🥂
I ate at this place tonight (4/16/22) and it was great. The service was excellent and the food as well. Window seating is really cool 😎. Upon leaving the staff said "....thank you for coming and have a good night...." I will be returning to this establishment. *update Took my family here yesterday (September 3rd) and again the service was great and my kids loved the chill environment. We got the mushrooms, 20 inch spaghetti pizza, mozzarella sticks, eggplant and spaghetti and a small pepperoni pizza for my youngest.
That South Park has an amazing variety of all kinds of cuisines you probably already know, but that not always has to be pricey, well that’s Mazara Trattoria. Their prices are pretty decent. We ordered a salad and a pizza with drinks and total was $36. The mozzarella pizza was flavorful and the service was friendly and our order came fast.
It was my first time visiting this venue and im happy I did. The customer service was phenomenal, the staff was very friendly. I order a slice of pizza to go and it was fresh, tasty, and massive. One slice could easily fill you up. They had a huge selection of wine, beer, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Big parking lot if your not walking distance too! I’d highly recommend checking this place out if you want a great neighborhood spot.
I know of the best and most authentic Italian restaurant in town, which is situated a little further away from Downtown. I consider it to be a hidden gem in San Diego. After my wedding, my partner and I and the family had lunch there, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. The staff were extremely accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. The portions and quality of the food we received were exceptional. Absolutely gonna go back again!
The food is amazing, great wine list and great service. It's a restaurant that has been in the neighborhood forever. Not very crowded so it's a nice quiet place for a meal. I'm so glad they survived the pandemic. Really great place!
Absolutely wonderful dining experience! Pizza, wine and dessert were all super yummy. The staff even let us sit on the porch with the dogs off the leash and locked us in so they couldn't get out. They brought out snacks and water for the dogs. One of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time. Great customer service, they truly treated us like family. Highly recommend and when I am back in SD I will for sure come back. 💛
Saturday night… Divina server was knowledgeable and gracious. Ni wonder since she is the Niece of owner and this great Family owned restaurant was started by her grandfather 37 years ago While not as popular as nearby new places, give me family tradition and longevity anytime. She suggested the Rigatoni with Italian sausage green pepper onion and mixed red sauce…mildly spicy and cooked perfectly. Huge portions are what family style is all about. House red wine for less than $7…very tasty Don’t fall for false marketing of popular places. Most young people have little clue about quality ethnic foods. So following the crowds and high prices mean nothing in this space. Monday night… This place helps restore my faith in authenticity and true value and family traditions. I had the place mostly to myself again and just can’t understand why. I have eaten in two other neighborhood Italian eateries and pizzarias. For taste, serving size, and friendly family service…Mazaras wins hands down. I came back fir the pizza before reviewing. I had a slice of “The Works” (minus olives) and oh my. Look at the photo for size! The size of most whole small pizzas back home. Since I didn’t think it would be enough, I ordered a side of meatballs. Again look at that portion of double bite sized meatballs with tons of the best marinara sauce I have had in maybe years! They also have a huge wine list at great prices with bottle service you can take out. I don’t see that anywhere else here. Prices are low for these times and this bill (attached) would be twice that at the popular joints down the street! I hope visitors or residents in this area will continue to support this place of taste and value for years to come. I’d rather be here than most any of the pretentious places in Little Italy of San Diego.
My wife and I came for the spaghetti pizza and it did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great dining spot to people watch as they walk down the street (We're not creepy I swear). Again, the spaghetti pizza was bomb, I cannot stress this enough. This is one of our new favorite local spots. Also, my wife loved the music playlist. Overall, 10/10 would recommend to to an emperor.. just not Putin.
I definitely loved this place. It was my first time around this area and was looking for a decent dinner meal with one of my loved ones. I'd recommend this place for anyone seeking an enjoyable dinner... it was also my first time eating spaghetti pizza, which was awesome! P.S. Went on a weekend and it wasn't that packed.
I had a flashback to Italy! What a great atmosphere and staff! I had the Italian sub and it was very tasty! The only reason I have 4 stars for the food is because the meat was great, the bread was soft and the flavors were there, but it either needs more meat to fill the bread, or it needs a smaller roll to balance the meat/bread ratio. But it was tasty! I met my coworker there and she had a personal pizza. It looked and smelled just like the pizza I had in Pompeii, and she said it was very good! I will be going back for pizza in the near future!
This was our first time here, just came upon this place by accident but we really enjoyed it! Awesome food and atmosphere for a great price. Also, the service was REALLY good - attentive and friendly without being pushy. I’d definitely go here again and invite others for future visits :) please check this place out and support local!

We had dinner before here for my wife's birthday, and we ordered some food to go as well, very friendly and great customer service as always we love this place.
I've had two small events here now. Sam and his wife took great care of us! The food is amazing. The stuffed shells is a hit Everytime! Located in a cute walking neighborhood in South Park. A few parking spaces in the back lot And street parking on the side. Very accessible. Public transit right out front. All around great family run restaurant. San Diego staple!
A wonderful, family run restaurant that's been a neighborhood staple for many years. Always drive by and have picked up pizza to go, but finally stopped in to try the deli counter for lunch. Large selection of drinks to choose from and the food was very good. Best part was the service though, very friendly and you can tell they take pride in running their restaurant for the community. Thank you for the delicious pizza! :)

What a cute little Italian spot. My girlfriend and I frequent South Park and have visited many of the neighboring shops/eateries and had seen Mazara Trattoria but never been. Then one day on a whim we decided to check it out and could not have been happier. We got the lunch specials and the bang for the buck was definitely there. It’s a smaller Italian eatery with a mini mart on the other side. It’s very home grown and that is what makes it special. The walls are hand painted and it incites a feeling of home and being welcome. All in all we enjoyed our meal and will stop by when we want a nice meal without breaking the bank.
Had early dinner at this place. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Pizza was thin crust yet crispy. Pasta was good too. Overall a nice place to try.

Never again. Chicken in my pasta tasted like literal cardboard. The beer we normally buy at BevMo for $14 was $25. Tomato sauce was not fresh, tasted like Chef Boyardee. I could not eat my pasta because it was just not good. I didn’t want to feel like each bite was working a desk job, so I just left hungry instead. It’s been 30 minutes since we left and I am not sure if the nausea was caused by their food or from hunger. For two people sharing an appetizer and a single beer, 1 pizza and a pasta it was $89. The worst part is for an additional $30. We could’ve had top quality at a restaurant that uses real ingredients.
The service was very good. Came here at 8:30 pm on a Tuesday. Not many people inside. The food wasn't so good. Got their pizza. It was a little doughy still. Also got their meatballs. The sauce tasted like it had way too much sugar in it. Too sweet. The meatballs had a weird taste to it. Not sure what it was. Think oregano. Overpowering. The next day my wife and I woke up with upset stomachs and were in the bathroom all day. Not sure what we ate that was bad. Not going back.

All can say wow, the pizza was hands down the worst pizza I’ve ever had. There was barely any cheese on it, and the sauce had a strange taste. The owner was very nice, but the pizza leaves a lot to be desired.
The customer service was great very friendly gentleman however the pizza was awful. Made me sick to my stomach. I asked for pepperoni and arugula and that’s not what I received at all. Not only that the pizza was still very much raw. The dough was not cooked and the pizza fell apart. Most of the beer in the refrigerator section was expired by 2 or 3 plus years. I hate to say this about the establishment but it’s an honest review
