Vulture is an absolute MUST-TRY in San Diego! We rarely get out for a dinner date, but we decided to treat ourselves to this new vegan fine dining speakeasy, and WOW, it exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere is gorgeous—seriously check out that incredible, moody, and dramatic decor (swipe to see the vibes!). But the food... the food was an experience. We started with the bread and bbq meatballs (so good!) and then the real show began! The highlight of the evening was getting to enjoy a table-side Caesar's salad (a first since our 1st anniversary!) and savoring the vegan Baked Alaska that was torched right in front of us! 🔥 (A taste of our honeymoon cruise, 29 years later!) Extraordinary food, next-level service, and unique mocktails. It was a welcomed break from home cooking and dish duty. If you're in SD, run, don't walk, to Vulture!
What a treat!! For those looking for healthy, plant based fine dining, Vulture is our new it place! Table side Caesar salad, tangy French onion soup💕, and great chef special pastas with home made and dairy free Parmesan cheese! And the piece de resistance, table side bananas foster for dessert! We are in love!
Great vegan fine dining! We loved the tableside ceasar. The dressing was made from scratch and very good. We liked temperature caviar service, very unique. We also had the crab cake and the parker house rolls. Highly recommend them both. We can't wait to come back and try more of the entrees. We had the chefs social pasta which was excellent. They have inventive craft cocktails and mocktails as well. The Baked Alaska for dessert exceeded expectations I suggest you go to Dreamboat afterward for a Mai Tai and a Malt. It is a fun way to end the evening. We were impressed by the service. Very professional and a fine dining vibe. We enjoyed the decor and look of the bar. We will be back and highly reccomend this restaurant for vegan and non vegans alike!
She’s going out of business. Pics speak for themselves. Food was great. Although these are regular steakhouse prices, for not-steakhouse prices. Reservation needed
For a Vegan restaurant I had such a good time. A great addition to the neighborhood. I loved all the apps and drinks, but the Baked Alaska dessert stole the show. Delicious! Will definitely be back.
Awesome food and service. Everything on the menu is incredible, the problem is deciding what to order. The ambiance is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend treating yourself to an experience here.
Absolutely amazing vegan food in a beautiful atmosphere. This is my new favorite vegan spot in San Diego!! They have a steak that tastes incredible. Never had anything like it before. The menu is amazing and everything was delicious!
date night with the husband was a hit at vulture. we had an early dinner - 5:45 so it wasn’t too busy, and the service was very attentive and friendly. our favorite dish was the Rockefeller, but we also enjoyed everything else we had. The table side Caesar was vinegar heavy but still delicious and made fresh. The Diane was incredible - note it just comes alone with no sides, like a traditional steakhouse. We had the chef special which was a stuffed pasta.
San Diego’s New Heavyweight (That Just Happens to Be Vegan) VULTURE isn’t just another vegan spot. It’s a full-blown experience. And honestly? It’s coming for the crown. We kicked things off with a trio of apps that set the tone right away. The Parker House rolls were soft, warm, and straight-up addictive. The pâté was creamy, earthy, just the right amount of rich. But the crab cake, made with hearts of palm, stole the show. It somehow nailed that classic crab cake texture and flavor without any actual crab. If no one told you, you’d never guess. For mains, the Chef’s special pasta hit every note. Vibrant, rich, and fully satisfying. Then there’s the Diane. An 8oz lion’s mane mushroom grown locally just for the restaurant. They treat it like a steak, and it shows. Charred, meaty, savory. It's kind of mind-blowing, actually. Dessert? Baked Alaska, baby. Torch-blazed at the table, dramatic as hell, but still light and not over-the-top sweet. It was the perfect finish. Service was sharp and friendly without hovering. The kitchen was locked in all night. And the vibe? Sleek, a little moody, full of personality. Big shoutout to the 80s soundtrack. It wasn’t just background noise. It helped set the whole scene. VULTURE is proof that vegan food doesn’t need a qualifier. It’s just damn good. Chef Pancho and the team are doing something special here. You can taste it. San Diego, heads up. VULTURE isn’t just on the map. It’s leading.
Excellent service and food. We loved the modern vegan takes on classic elevated dishes. Don’t sleep on the table-side Caesar!
As a longtime Kindred fan, I was so excited to try Vulture and it did not disappoint. The whole experience was immersive and fun, like stepping into an ’80s new wave fever dream in the best way. We ordered the vegan “oysters” Rockefeller, tableside Caesar, piccata, bolognese, and baked Alaska. The Caesar was a standout — the best vegan version we’ve had, and the tableside service made it even better. Loved the subtle Tabasco kick. The baked Alaska is a must. My fiancé doesn’t usually like sweets and still went back for seconds (and thirds). Everything was thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully executed. Vulture is something special.
Wanted to try a bit of everything since they just opened. Entirely vegan menu! Our favorites apps were the Crab Cakes and Rockefeller. Most popular entree amongst our group was the Oscar. Despite being opening night, service felt very organized and our waitresses were all incredibly knowledgable. We definitely will be back!
5 Star all the way! The food was awesome, service terrific and the place is beautiful. Our party of three ordered everything on the early bird special and enjoyed it all. The meatball sandwich was a tad bit salty and our fries weren't as warm as I like but it didn't stop us from devouring everything . The rolls were tasty and the butter was full of flavor. The salad was tasty, it did have a bit of vinegar taste as others have said, but we liked it. The crab cake was a hit and we enjoyed both steaks a lot. We also ordered the caviar service and loved it. We had baked Alaska for desert and that was so delicious. For cocktails we had the Old Fashion and Bees Knees. Both were so good we had seconds. With desert we had the Grasshopper and Espresso Martini. We did arrive early and noticed that it got busy quickly. We walked out happy and satisfied.

This space is amazing, the food is amazing, the drinks are amazing. The zero proof options were great as well. We got a wide spread of apps to share family style at the table, everything was delicious and enjoyed by all.
My new favorite restaurant! And I’m not vegan. Great atmosphere, the tables feel very intimate and private even though there are many. Great service. The food was INSANE. My favorites were the beet carpaccio, crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and the lions mane steak. For fine dining, I thought the prices were good. I went with two vegetarians, one of whom is GF, and we all LOVED it.
Wow. Impressed from start to finish. The entrance is one of a kind. The staff is refreshingly friendly and warm. The ambiance is such a vibe. And man the food… haven’t had a steakhouse type experience since I went vegan in 2019 and this restaurant is second to none. Don’t forget the amazing drinks. Can’t wait to come back
I’m amazed by the service, ambiance, and quality of the food. A friend recommended this place since I’m a vegetarian and new to San Diego, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I came in for some quick me-time on my birthday, and from the very beginning it was a wonderful experience. The host and staff congratulated me throughout the evening, which made it feel extra special. My server, Alan, was beyond attentive. I’m a bit shy and dining out can sometimes feel nerve-wracking, but he made me feel completely at ease and genuinely welcomed. His recommendations were spot on as well. One thing to note for first-time visitors: parking can be a bit tricky. I wasn’t able to find a nearby parking lot and ended up parking on the street. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Thank you for such a lovely experience!
David Lynch would love it here. Beautiful aesthetic. Food is always outstanding - it checks all the boxes of classic American steak houses in the 50's down to table side salad prep, baked Alaska, and throwback drinks. I LOVE the French onion soup, wedge salad, and potato chips with French onion dip and 'caviar'. The cherries jubilee were amazing this summer, and I just tried the new delicious bananas fosters. The crab cake was a showstopper

One of the best veg restaurants out there, hands down. Chef Amy Noonan (sp) also of Kindred fame has created a very special place. Atmosphere is swanky and classic, dark and moody in the best kind of way. Food is amazing - feels like a grand-dame institution straight out of the Great Gatsby. My omnivore boyfriend LOVES this place too. Excellent playlist and feels like big-night-out vibes no matter what the occasion. Vegan steak (Beyond), piccata, giant mushrooms, melt-in-your-mouth rolls (get them!). So happy to have a good vegan caesar salad, no anchovies of course here! They even do timeless desserts like Baked Alaska and Bananas Foster flambeed tableside. I can't speak more highly of this place, I love Vulture! (Psst -if you have trouble finding it, remember you enter speakasy-style through the also-vegan diner "Dreamboat") x Jasmine
Visited a recently opened vegan restaurant in San Diego, owned by the same owner of my favorite spot, Kindred. The place feels like a well-kept secret since the entrance is hidden (you actually enter through the Dreamboat Cafe). Vulture has a great bar and appetizers, though the entree menu is on the shorter side. Here’s what I tried and my thoughts on each dish: Caviar Service – An appetizer with caviar and chips. They did a great job with the caviar—the texture felt just like real caviar—and it was served with a flavorful French onion dip. Cocktail Meatballs – A few meatballs served with apricot BBQ sauce. Simple, but good. Oscar – A very flavorful dish with a Beyond steak fillet and an interesting, tasty sauce. I really enjoyed this one. Diane – A vegan steak that looked incredibly real, even mimicking the pink center of a traditional steak. The texture was spot on too. Overall, it was a really interesting experience at Vulture—great ambiance, attentive service, tasty food, and a fresh new concept. First off, my group went the first night it was open for reservations. Every person we encountered was extremely friendly and eager to help. The ambiance is incredible, it is definitely worth a visit! We started with the Tiny Bubbles, which was fun for a start. Our group then had an Old Fashioned, Gibson Martini, and Martini with Brine. All three were very tasty and very nicely served! I ordered The Works with a classic martini, and as fun as it was, l don't think the additional accoutrements and pave were worth the up-charge. For food, we ordered the Pate, French Onion Soup, Tableside Caesar for 2, Wood Grilled Fennel Salad, Piccata, and Cassoulet. The absolute highlight was the Pate. I will be going back just for this. The flavors were incredible. The soup was also a stand out, with a super flavorful broth and tons of onions and cheese. The entrees and Caesar were very good and tasted great, but I wouldn't go out of my way for them. For us, the Fennel Salad was the skippable plate that we picked. The pieces of fennel were just a bit too tough and too large for our taste. We ended with a glass of Port, an Irish Coffee, and the New York Cheesecake. The cheesecake is really great, and a fun for vegans that don't usually get to have that option! All in all, a wonderful evening and meal. We'll definitely go back and are eager to try some other options. If you order one thing, get that Pate!
Stunning and would come back. The food was delicious. We don’t know it was vegan before we went so it threw us off a bit…however, everything we had was incredible. The drinks were a highlight as well as the pasta of the day.

First visit last night for my birthday. Drinks, decor, lighting, service, and vibe are all great. Food was great too...I ordered the rolls, the wedge salad, French onion soup, the steak sampler, and baked Alaska. The Beyond and mushroom "meat" entrees weren't bad but were my least favorites TBH. And baked Alaska almond cake base was frozen prob from ice cream on top and very difficult to break or eat. Total for those items, two cocktails, two glasses of wine, and tip came to $250. In the end, it's hard for me to justify a value proposition, so 3 stars overall for that reason.
