A gem of a place serving authentic Moroccan cuisine. The decor, music and ambience says it all. The food is good and the portions are big. Plus, the staff is super friendly and welcoming.
Best experience I had in all of the Restaurants I been in SF! Staff are so friendly and the food is soooo goood!! I ordered through doordash one time late at night and forgot to add soda in my order. I told the staff, since I'm omw to pick it up my order I will just pay soda in person, but they decided to give the soda for Free instead!!!!! They also added a home made bread as welll!!! It was sooo goood too!!! Hands down the BEST Moroccan Cuisine in town coupled with the BEST and friendliest Staffs I've ever seen!! 2 thumbs up!!! Well deserved 5 star!!
We had a delicious lamb kebab and vegetarian tagine. The food is excellent but it’s not a place for a romantic first date. You go for the food not ambiance. There is a lot of noise… every time a person enters the restaurant a beep is triggered. From the kitchen area is a constant beeping noise from, I think, online orders. But noise aside, the food is great!
A Hidden Moroccan Gem – Five Stars All Around We stumbled upon this incredible Moroccan restaurant and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the service wasn’t just friendly—it was genuinely warm and above and beyond anything we expected. You could feel the hospitality in every detail. We ordered the vegetarian dishes, and they were nothing short of extraordinary. The aromas alone were enough to transport us straight to Marrakech. Every bite was perfectly seasoned, rich in flavor, and beautifully presented. It was so good, we came back for more. This place is a rare find—authentic, flavorful, and filled with heart. Five stars all the way.
Our family had a late lunch here on New Year eve and loved every dish we ordered. We had chicken couscous with raisins and onions, lamb chops, chicken tagine & chicken bastilla. Would definitely recommend the chicken couscous and chicken tagine if you have to pick just two - they were both amazing. The lamb chops and chicken bastilla were close behind. We finished our lunch with Moroccan mint tea and baklava - which was a great finish to our lunch. The service was equally great and the staff/owner were kind.
Soooooooo yummy. We ordered tagine and maghdour (both lamb). I can’t even pick a favourite, they were both delectable. The service is warm and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed. I’d come here again, and if I had friends or family visiting me, then I’d probably bring them here. It’s also a really good spot for a romantic date night. This is a hidden gem of San Francisco! Love what you guys do 🙏 Thank you I really want to come back and try the chicken bastille based on everyone else’s reviews :)
Wow, what an amazing meal! We ordered artichoke salad, lamb tagine, saffron rice, mint tea and sparkling water. Everything was just amazing. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth good. Just slipped right off the bone. Service was excellent here, so attentive and friendly. If I lived in the city I would come here all the time. We were craving lamb and we are so glad that we found this spot. Authentic, delicious, what a treat!
After loving everything I ever ate in Morocco, I had to find a good restaurant in the bay! I was nervous since it is difficult to find authentic food from other countries, but I loved it! The Tajines were great, super tender! The Bastillas were also great, super tasty but a lot larger than I imagined (which I am not complaining about, I was just surprised). It was also very affordable compared to the other Moroccan restaurants I found. I will definitely be going back! The only down side is that they didn’t have Harira soup available. I can’t remember if they don’t have it at all, or if they just didn’t have it at that time.
Nice intimate small eatery with touches of Moroccan decoration and paintings. Serves authentic home-cooked dishes. The eggplant red pepper tomato appetizer, olives dish, and bastilla were flavorful and delightful. Tender lamb tangine, couscous royal, and chicken tangine included tender moist meat. Mint tea is a must. Note: no alcohol served here. Stale baklava was the only disappointment.
Came in and it was empty, kinda threw me off at first but still gave it a chance. The food is really good, the spice level was insane (in a good way), the service was also really good, the only thing missing was the atmosphere. It was extremely cold inside, questionable cleanliness, and overall looked mediocre. But if you going to a quick food stop, it’s great
We were in town to visit. My family was in the mood for Moroccan cuisine. Specifically looking for bastilla. We walked in and were seated. We ordered a chicken bastilla and a veggie bastilla to start. For the meal we got a chicken tagine,a lamb kebab, and a veggie couscous. The bastilla was nicely seasoned ,I really liked the sweet and savory taste. It has a dusting of powder sugar and cinnamon on top.The chicken tagine was fall off the bone tender. The couscous portion was big enough for 2 people. The kabob was ok. It could have used more salt. My only negative was the bastilla, I'm pretty sure that they microwaved it to heat it up and finished it up in the broiler.(I understand as I worked in a restaurant. Sometimes to save time you pre make items. I just wanted it to be warmed longer and kept under the broiler longer. Mine was a little cold in spots)
Seafood Bastille is average. Way too much oil in the fry. Very little seafood. Chicken Tagine is excellent as is the bread with it. Slightly higher salt. Mint tea came with sugar but was replaced without when requested. tasted good without the sugar. Nice little spot. Good decor. Friendly and efficient service.
This is a cute place! I loved the zaalouk, taktouka & carrots a la chermoula - the salad trio. I’d the vegetarian tagine and my companion had the fish tagine. We didn’t really love our respective tagines. I’m unsure if that is because we are unfamiliar with the dish. Give this place a try though to see if you may like it! The service was polite and quick!
Nice setup, nice staff, terrible dish I ordered for to-go: lamb tagine with prunes and almonds. Nothing Moroccan or acceptable about it. It was like a french onion soup. 50% was onion, 25% was lamb, 25% was 6 prunes and almonds. There was no Ras el hanout, cayenne pepper, paprika, or saffron used to flavor the lamb. Please avoid this dish. I won't return. For a good lamb dish, go to nearby Sofiya and Mashaallah.
Deeply Disappointed - Overpriced, Poor Quality, and Questionable Hygiene We visited this restaurant during lunch hours and found it completely empty, which should have been our first warning sign. Still, we decided to give it a chance, especially since it had surprisingly high ratings online, which, in hindsight, we find very questionable. We ordered the chicken bastilla, lamb tagine with prunes and almonds, the mixed meat kebab platter, and the beef sirloin kebab maghdour. Our total came to over $100, which was shockingly expensive for the small portion sizes we received. The wait time was unusually long, despite the restaurant being empty. When the food finally arrived, the problems began: The chicken bastilla was dry and tasted off, with a filling that did not seem fresh. The sirloin maghdour was downright spoiled. With the first bite, I got an immediate taste of rotten meat, which made me gag. My family tried it as well and confirmed that many pieces had the same foul odor—clear signs the meat had gone bad. The lamb tagine was tolerable but far from memorable, lacking the depth and richness typically associated with Moroccan cuisine. When the mixed meat kebab platter arrived, we were stunned by the minute quantity. The kebabs were dry, flavorless, and again, one of the sirloin kebab pieces had the same rotten taste as the maghdour. We couldn’t finish the meal, which is rare for us. This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had, both in terms of quality and value. We left feeling completely unsatisfied and frankly concerned about food safety. To add to the issues, the restroom was unclean, and we observed that only one person was managing everything-from taking orders and cooking to fixing the restroom commode-which raises serious questions about hygiene and sanitation. We were left confused about the high online ratings, as our experience was nowhere near what those reviews suggest. Perhaps they were inflated or outdated, but we genuinely hope others don’t fall into the same trap we did. Not recommended. Save your money and your stomach.
