Good food, nice staff, good vibes. I had French toast combo and coffee - it came out much better than expected. Probably the best French toast I had honestly. They know how to cook their potatoes well also. I saw the place on google maps nearby and checked it out. Definitely worth it if you are near 3rd street. I will be coming back here
First time customer; delighted by welcoming staff, quick service and a delicious while filling meal. So happy to have been recommended this location by word of mouth. Great locations for fellow fans of country potatoes and thick French toast! Will surely be back!
Unassuming diner at a busy crossroads serving surprisingly good food. I was the only customer and ordered the Pacific Scramble, which contains shrimp - could have been a big mistake but no, it was excellent. One person both serving and cooking as far as I could tell but he managed it just fine. I'll be back.
This place is awesome! Food was delicious and came fast with very generous portions. Staff is super laid back and chill but still so friendly. Felt more like eating comfort food at your best friend's than eating at some Denny's vibe joint. Place was also busy too and almost every new guest that walked in was greeted more like family than just a customer. Stop by this San Fran spot and give it a shot. You won't regret it at all.
I highly recommend Bay Side Cafe for Breakfast and Lunch, the food was amazing and Juan was very friendly, the service was great
Let me tell you something — this is a legit SF original. You can tell as soon as you walk in, you see the staff know the locals and the regulars. You feel the real SF vibe and culture. The food is fantastic. Save the complicated for somewhere else because this is legit vibes, culture, and great food. I’m so glad my friend brought me to this place. I had the huevos rancheros with some coffee and both were amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
I came in on Wednesday 6/19/2024 and I went to try their lunch I ordered I a double cheeseburger and it was soooo good looking and it was huge. The workers were really nice the mayo on the burger was so good. The fries were bomb. Other fast food chains like McDonald’s and burger king you guys have some explaining to do you guys can’t be saying your the best fast food chains if y’all have worst quality then a local restaurant. Thanks bayside cafe I’m definitely coming back
Had a great breakfast here! The chilaquiles was on point and the thick cut bacon was cooked exactly how I like it. Service was fast and friendly. I would definitely be a regular if I lived here. Also accessibility was a breeze for my girlfriend’s power chair.
If you are looking for a home town dinner experience with no frills and amazing food and staff, this is it! We loved everything from our greeting, food and conversation with the staff. It felt like we lived there and came everyday. We will for sure be back. And I highly recommend it to anyone!
I was craving a patty melt this morning. So when I typed up patty melt in my search engine this place was the first on the list. I called the Cafe to find out if they were open for guests to dine in. She said yes. So my son and I went for breakfast but we ended up ordering lunch. He ordered the double bacon cheeseburger w/ just mayo. No fixings. He loved the burger. It was so juicy and delicious. It had that chardboiled taste to it. My son said he gives it 5 stars. My patty melt was delicious. It filled my craving. The cafe is a cute lil restaurant on the hill. Not far from where live. (By the cow paIace) We would definitely be coming back to try more items from the menu and enjoy the scenic view.
Everything about this place is GOOD! Manny was very helpful! The food was amazing! It was our first time and for her bday we had an amazing time!
Great food, great staff, great service diffently a go to. Highly recommend
This is the perfect greasy spoon. Exactly what you need after a night out. The employees are polite and your food comes fast. Highly recommended for exactly what you need.
Just recently stopped in on mother's day Sunday. Great customer service and probably the best French toast I've ever had. Great diner food and good prices.
This is the place to stop if you're craving a GOOD solid breakfast. Their pancakes are fluffy, their bacon perfectly crispy, and you can't go wrong with any of the scrambles or omelets. Very easy to get too, and friendly down to earth people. Six stars.
Ordered an UberEats delivery. 1/2 burger avocado bacon mushrooms with cheese & home fried potatoes. Everything was fresh & arrived quickly. Highlights for me was the meaty thick bacon & very well cooked home fried potatoes. All parts of my meal was fresh & excellent quality & generous portion. My only critique is the burger patty & the mushrooms needed a tad bit of salt. I would recommend the burger & home fried potatoes with bacon.
I took my family here for breakfast and we were surprised to find the place almost empty. Everything we ordered was delicious: 4 different omelettes, pancakes and french toast All their ingredients were really fresh and they even make their own sour cream. I wish I had ordered their chilaquiles, maybe next time. We were treated as if we were family. We will definitely come back next time we visit San Francisco. I highly recommend this place.
Very friendly and traditional local! The waiters are so heartwarming! It was a real pleasure to have breakfast here for our last morning on our roadtrip through the west. Definitely going to save this restaurant for our future trips!
Came here on a Sunday morning, parking wasn't too bad and it wasn't super busy. Inside the place was clean and simply decorated. I was greeted and helped right away. The prices were reasonably priced, and it was pretty standard for anywhere you go. I ordered 5 items, and it was a little over $100, so I'm not complaining. I'm not going to lie. I double-checked my order because people complained about being double charged... then again, those people only have left 1 review or a handful at that.. so you already know.. the only thing different is, I paid with card and they charged an admin fee for $4 and some change. I do know credit card companies charge a fee for using their machine. I'm guessing they are just passing it on to the customer. Corned beef hash and eggs w/ house potatoes - It was tasty and pretty much what you would expect. House potatoes were well cooked and seasoned Country Fried Steak and eggs combo - Standard country fried steak. Portion was ok, had a little crunch. I liked that they placed the gravy on the side Meat omelette - Has ham, bacon, and sausage. Tasty and not greasy from all the meat. Hashbrowns were nice and crunchy Pancake combo - Good pancakes and combo Overall, the food was pretty basic. Didn't stand out in any way. Not like any flavor explosions in your mouth. I do want to come back and try the chilaquiles, breakfast burrito, and french toast combo.
This cafe is a local and visitor's must! Tasty and memorable food, great menu! Awesome fun atmosphere Super customer service, especially our man, Juan! Coffee is always hot, this place is worthy of a save on your favourites! We'll be back Burt & Nat
Love this place!! Amazing views and wonderful food. It was so hard to choose, because everything on the menu looked good, but I finally decided on that chilaquiles. They were so good! Boyfriend had the pancakes and they were amazing too. I definitely want to return.
This is my colleagues go to for breakfast/lunch when we can! I'd visit on weekends for breakfast sometimes alone. It's usually steak and eggs for me, but I've had other dishes. They're all fantastic! Milk shakes are really nice and generous. What tickles me a bit more is the cordial staff. There's a lot of regulars who come in. Parking can get a little tricky. But it's usually doable.
Great spot with some amazing food. The omelette was spectacular and inuclude fresh ingredients. Definitely stop in
I love a good diner with many options, and this place didn't disappoint. Our server was super sweet and helpful. The egg was not over easy and runny like I prefer, but flavors were excellent.
Awesome find. Pancakes reminiscent of my youth in the 70's. Light, airy, crisp on the outside, good structure, with just the smallest extra chew expected. Eggs and bacon were excellent. Best breakfast in San Francisco.
Bayside Cafe serves us a classic American style breakfast with a very lovely atmosphere. It's right next to the freeway, which makes for some traffic noise, but not too much. They have large windows the look over much of the San Francisco skyline, which makes for a really nice view. The servers are nice and friendly. I ordered the Belgian Waffle Combo, which included a Belgian waffle, bacon or sausage, and eggs. The waffle was surprisingly well sized and was very fluffy. I am tempted to come here regularly from now on, as it is convenient to get to and not unreasonably priced.
Family owned vibe, small place. Cozy American diner that treats you like family. Delicious simple food.
Visiting San Francisco for the weekend and tried this spot out. I ordered the migas with rice and beans. This is the best tasting Mexican food I have ever had at a restaurant. So close to my moms home cooking that it could’ve fooled me! Try it, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Perfect diner! Exactly what you want from atmosphere, services FAST and efficient. And the food just hits all the spots! I’ve never had a better Benedict eating out before.

Great little local diner to get a bite. Lovely views of the water as you're walking to/from your car, and some city views, depending on where you sit. Food and service is no-frills and there are not a ton of vegetarian options. The bathroom is outside. A pleasant spot if you need a quick bite.
Food was okay nothing special . Service was great. Felt welcomed and felt taken care of also staff is very friendly and talkative which makes our experience here more memorable. Atmosphere is homie but it’s a bit crowded I don’t like feeling crowded. Gave four stars because although food is good, it’s not that special and very expensive. Service was amazing !
This is a local favorite, as witnessed by how busy and friendly the staff is to patrons they recognize. This place is a sit down cafe/dinner, where they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long. After our very early and long flight, we decided to try their breakfast. We both ordered their sausage breakfast. My wife, ordered the potatoes and country sausage, which was very good. I tried their hash browns and chicken sausage. We tried both, and we both agreed that we liked their country sausage better.
Affordable diner. Friendly, prompt service. Food was good/OK. Willing to go back sometime later this year :-)
Always my go to spot for big breakfast! Joe's Special with swiss/hash browns and a muffin. A plate of Liver(cooked correctly)and onions with eggs and home fries . Great service from Manny and his crew!!

Great early morning breakfast / lunch pit stop. Easy ordering , fast service. Especially great for early morning delivery drivers. Parking available.

I grew up in Visitacion Valley neighborhood, this place has been here for as long as I can remember, and has always been a nice spot to have a quick comfortable bite to eat. I recently ordered two breakfast dishes over the phone. When I arrived to pay for the to go orders...(Two eggs, grits, three turkey sausages patties). The cashier quoted me a price of 48.00!!!!! I had to make sure he had the correct order. He repeated my order and told me that prices are going up! True, but 48.00 for two basic breakfast plates??? The food was ok, but I will definitely not be patronizing this place. I am fine with paying for a good meal, but nowhere on this earth would I ever pay 48.00 for grits, eggs, and turkey sausage. Box of grits ($5.00), A dozen of Eggs ($10 these days), Turkey Sausage pack(4.99) total = 20.00 and breakfast for atleast 3 days. I can't imagine what the prices will be when the so called tariffs hit!
I used to frequent this place all the time, recently when I went back my normal breakfast was not cooked the same. Their country potatoes were always good. This time they were dry fried like French fries, they were very big, they were not smothered with salt, pepper, garlic, and no bell pepper and onion like they used to. I'm just assuming that they're cooking for the professional crowd, and no longer cooking for the community. The community is who supported you all over the years, that shouldn't be forgotten. There are people from the community who have been eating here since this was a 24-hour spot............I'm just saying
Quaint with sweeping views and decent food, but it's overpriced for what it is. You can do better in SF for the same price.

The cafe is situated on a hill overlooking 3rd street in San Francisco. I ordered the Pork Chops and Over Easy Eggs with Hash-browns and Sour Dough bread, t I’m giving the place two stars because the hash-browns were crispy and cooked to order, now for the Pork Chops, the meat was Salty and cooked hard as a shoe sole, I did not eat it because is a sign that the meat was old, it was the worst I ever tried, the cooked should have looked into it at the time he pull it to be cooked. The service was not really friendly except for person that was washing dishes was very nice and attentive to the guests requests. Nice view and parking by the entrance.
The service was excellent and it wasn't super busy when we went on a Sunday morning, but the food wasn't that great. We've had better Mexican food and pancakes elsewhere. They were great at keeping our coffee cups full, but this place is overpriced and they add on an extra fee for service.
The food and service were great. They advertise great view but the area is not that great. The view is a boared up apartment building and freeway. Restaurant windows are filthy. Definitely needs to be cleaned. It's a bit pricey for plain food.
The food was great but now that I'm reading the reviews about being double charged I have to agree they did that to us yesterday for my birthday!!! Went to go eat breakfast before hitting the ward and I couldn't believe our bill was $84 for an order of chicken fried steak and and pancake combo with two coronas and a side of hash!!! I almost Pop that foo in his mouth for double charging us!! Homeboy was cool but I didn't see the $84 worth of food!! Great food but can't believe we got double charged.

Although a friendly neighbor, this is the third time I am disappointed going to this place. I kept telling him butter on the side and well done, and he probably just didn’t listen and ignored the comment and did not even tell the chef. He kept coming back and made fun of me that my salsa also has butter. Making fun of people that have allergies is way too much crossing the limit. He also put the butter on my product and later told me I should have said it well done while placing the order. Shake my head. I hope they do better. I wish them good luck.
