Second time having raw crabs and this was amazingly seasoned. Last time I had it it was soy sauce marinated but this was kimchi/gochujang and it was amazing. Every dish from the tangsooyook to the jjajjangmyeon was worth the trip and so delicious. The seafood was also really good. Chicken wings were 🥰🥰🥰
Phenomenal food with giant servings. We got the Korean spicy raw marinated crab ($31) and combo fried rice ($14). The marinade was just the right balance of spicy and sweet, and the crab meat was succulent, fresh and creamy. The fried rice was massive and can feed 2 people or 1 very hungry person—they didn’t skimp on the eggs or meat either. Super fast service—our food came out in 5 minutes. 10/10 would go out of my way to come back here
First timer at jjamPpong. The spicy raw crab is their signature as well as the Jjamppong noodles soup. I wish the soup comes with flour noodles but they used the rice one but it's still fantastic. Furthermore, i have never had a to go customer service for leftovers while dining in so ngl they have a really great customer service!
You gotta get the spicy raw marinated crab. I don’t think it’s a dish that is widely available in the Bay Area, but I could be wrong. Super good! It’s pretty spicy but it’s darker red appearance probably makes it seem spicier than it is! Definitely will be coming back to try other dishes.
Heard about this place from several Bay Area Instagram food influencers. We got the raw crab, jajiangmian, and jjamppong. Everything was really good and I want to go back and try the fried chicken and tangsuyuk. Anyone who thinks sf doesn’t have good Korean food needs to come here. Solid spot and will go again.
They have a lot of mouth-watering Koreans Chinese menu, it since I visited during lunch time, I ordered basic 3 items. Fried Mando is pretty good, Jajang Myoen is my favorite, and seafood champon is amazingly good. I would come here rather than going to nicer-looking Korean restaurants in downtown.
Everyone was so sweet, attentive and accommodating! We were served tea to start and some small sides! The main dishes were delicious! Complete forgot what the left pic dish was but the seafood noodle soup one was so yummy! We have been meaning to try this place out for so long and glad we did! It’s got good quality and quantity. Good service and good music lol! A hidden treasure for sure. Will be coming back here again for the black bean noodles 😍
The best raw marinated crab - it was spicy yet sweet and the meat was very juicy. Each serving comes with seaweed and rice, along with gloves to keep your hands clean. The Jjamppong and deluxe veggies were also amazing. Serving sizes are very big so our group had a lot of leftovers after our meal. We left extremely satisfied. Bonus points for the amazing service! The staff was very generous with the daikon and kimchi side dish refills (which were on the house).
Recently came here for a friend's birthday. There were a few things that I wanted to try and luckily they were all under the specialties. The things I would definitely recommend would be the seafood jjamppong, the spicy raw crab, and the fried chicken wings. The jjamppong is nicely spicy with tons of seafood and you also get noodles. The raw crab is definitely something great to try if you've never had it before. It did sell out that night we were there, so if they do have it, i would definitely recommend ordering it. The fried chicken was probably my favorite thing I had that night. So flavorful and fried so well! With the spicy crab we also got rice and seaweed. We are recommended by one of the staff to put the crab sauce on top of the rice and eat it that way. Definitely a pro tip cuz it was very delicious! We also got the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and jajang mein. I wasn't the biggest fan of either but they weren't bad. Overall a great experience with good food. Staff is friendly and very helpful. There is only street parking but you will most likely find a space pretty easily since there is residential around as well.
Wow, we had a really amazing experience here!!! The food is incredibly delicious, the portions are massive, kimchi is to die for! We ordered green beans, chow mein and the chicken wings in garlic sauce, all fantastic.👌 The service was outstanding - so attentive and friendly. Thank you so much for serving us so warmly. We are delighted to have chosen your restaurant for our first evening in SF!! :)
Easy 5 stars from me. I’ve never had spicy raw crab like this in the Bay Area, and it tastes as legit as the ones I’ve had in Korea. There were probably 3 large crabs (6 halves) in our portion, which I think is very good for the price, and they were so meaty. The sauce was excellent. Not too spicy or too sweet, and let the crab shine. The marinated crab has some other veg and sits on a bed of lettuce. I love how they serve it with rice and gim too, and they provide plastic gloves for your hands. We also ordered seafood jampong which has crab in it as well. The noodles were chewy and the broth had a wonderful seafood flavor. It was a huge portion. We were considering ordering a third dish, but we’re glad we didn’t. We’ll definitely have to come back! For 2 people, we ordered the jampong and the crab and we were stuffed and had to take some of the crab home.
Come all the way from Seattle for the spicy raw crab! Wonderful food and here's what we ordered: Hot and Sour Soup Beef Chow Mein Deep Fried Eggplant Spicy Raw Crab (양념게장) with extra seaweed (김) We feel the warm hospitality from the owners. They even pack a box of jajang sauce and kimchi for us. We will return when we visit the Bay Area for sure!
Fresh and well made! Good flavors and a tight menu make this place attractive and homely.. The service is very professional and warm. The atmosphere is very relaxed, quiet and bright. The location is a bit sketchy and parking is typical San Francisco challenging, but I think it’s worth the trip. I think vegetarians will love the options available that can be shared among all kinds of dietary preferences.
Korean style Chinese food or Chinese style Korean food or is it a San Tung derivative who knows but I know the food is fire flames. Complimentary danmuji and kimchi, black bean sauce clams came with a huge portion of clams and should not be compared to a Cantonese style black bean sauce clams (less salty and a bit more subtle in a good way) , deep fried string beans were deep fried and definitely a tasty string bean, tangsuyuk were fried well and good cuts of pork (get it with the sweet and sour on the sauce on the side for an ignominious amount of life to the crunch), double fried chicken wings with garlic sauce were good with large pieces (if you were to compare it with San tung, does not hold its crisp as well, not as sticky, not as much zing), seafood jjamppong had a lot of seafood and noodles and wasn’t overtly spicy that it would ruin the rest of the dishes. Will have to try the jajang mein and spicy raw crab next visit. Great place if you want some Korean food with your canto food and vice versa or you do you
We ordered almost everything in their specialty list. Kids liked the sweet and sour pork. I like their twice fried chicken with garlic sauce. Raw crabs were delicious and spicy. The portions for everything is huge. I do recommend going there with a hungry stomach. The restaurant is small with only one large table for 10.
Came here for their spicy marinated crab and it was definitely a MUST GET. The jajangmyeon was also very tasty. Also, their kimchi sidedish was so so good, even though it was pretty small portion. Will definitely be back to try their Chinese food. The staffs were attentive, good customer service.
I absolutely love this place. Their jjamppong (lots of seafood) and spicy marinated crab are delicious and SO flavorful. Not too expensive. Good portion for price. and service is always friendly. Highly recommend !
suuuper good!! pretty large portions overall, kinda hard to find parking but we got super lucky and found parking right in front of the restaurant. pretty small area, but they’re super fast with service. marinated crab was super good, prolly a smaller portion that i would like but pretty fairly priced.
I phoned in my takeout order and conversed with Morgan. There was a mistake with one of my five ordered items. Morgan addressed the issue and proposed that I double park when picking up, and he would personally bring out the corrected order. The problem was resolved with the replacement of the item, and two complimentary orders were added. The quality of the food and the customer service was top-notch, and I highly recommend this restaurant.
I came to SF all the way from Virginia to try Bay Area spicy raw marinated crab and this restaurant didn’t disappoint me at all. The crab meat was tender with full of flavor. All the other food items we ordered were also delicious. Additionally, the owner of this restaurant were so kind and helpful towards me and friend. They helped us to fix the parking issues, while most of the people would ignore. They went out of their way to help us. I will always remember their kindness and of course the food they serve.
Great service, super generous servings, and delicious! We ate here for mother's Day and I think we may have ordered too much as we were not expecting the large servings, which is totally not a bad thing! I think the HK noodles were my favorite and I'd say the salt and pepper shrimps were my least. It's lacking a bit of saltiness or umami compared to other places. Overall, I will come back but probably order less. 😅
My favorite dish here is the jjampong seafood noodles. It was not too salty and spicy. It paired perfect with the sweet and sour pork.
We came yesterday for lunch and ordered 3 different dishes: Tangsuyuk-pork, Mongolian Beef, Jjajangmeon. SO SO GOOD! Very tasty and the meat are fresh
As a native Korean who has lived in San Francisco for over 10 years, one of the most exciting yet odd moments is when locals ask me for Korean food recommendations. Growing up in a seaside town, I absolutely love Korean seafood dishes. However, I know that if not properly prepared, some Korean food might taste unusual to others. That’s why I’ve always hesitated to suggest the Korean marinated crab dish to my American friends. But then, I found JJamPPong, and wow, what a game-changer! My first visit there with my Korean coworkers was with zero expectations, and we were blown away by the authentic and flavorful crab marination. Today, I made my third trip to JJamPPong, driving 30 minutes just to get there, and it was totally worth it. The crab is incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared with a fragrant ginger hot sauce that is simply divine. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone who’s heard about the famous Korean marinated crab but is unsure where to find a truly worthy version. You have to try it!
A very simple korean restaurant with great food! We went here on Valentine’s Day and it wasn’t too full or crowded that we enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere. Serving size is good for 2-3 or up to 4 depending on your appetite. The food is very good and the sauce in the Tangsuyuk is addictive.
every dish is truly amazing!! especially love the bean noodle
Very good service. The food was very tasty. One dish can easily serve two people. We’ll gladly recommend it if you’re looking for a good Korean restaurant.
1/2/2026: This is the best meal I had this year. Two of our friends haven't tried JJamPPong yet. Of course we have to bring them. Their daughter studied abroad in Korean and they visit her often. So, their standards for authentic Korean food are high. We ordered spicy raw crab, fried fish, seafood jjamppong, jajang mein w/pork, string beans, Korean fried chicken, salt & pepper and beef chow fun. An unexpected clams in oyster sauce arrived. Morgan recognized me from last time and gave us a free dish. That's very nice of him. We loved the spicy raw crab so much, we ordered a second one even though we were all pretty full. That's how you know when a dish is good. A 2nd order, even though you are full. Although everything tasted good, my two friends new to JJamPPong said the standout dishes for them were: #1 jjamppong seafood soup. It had a good spicy burn, not just spicy but a unique blend where you can taste the seafood. It was a good balance hard to achieve. #2 was the double fried chicken, salt and pepper because of the crunchiness and not oily. #3 was the string beans. It had a good snap to them and flavorful. We'll have to find a day where their kids are free have them try it. It is hard to make kids eat vegetables but this will do the trick. Updated review 1/17/2025: We came to back to JJamPPong because we had a bad jajang mein (black bean sauce noodles) at another restaurant in Millbrae a couple of weeks ago. We were talking about coming back the entire week to get jajang mein and their famous Korean double fried chicken. That feeling of satisfaction from a good meal is priceless. Redemption from a bad meal to a great one is twice as good. As a revenge meal, we ordered two orders of fried chicken $20 each, crispy garlic shrimp $24, chow fun $20 and of course, jajang mein $16. The food remains excellent. For the Korean fried chicken, get ready for some sticky fingers goodness. I really like the crunchiness as well as the authentic flavors. Their chef(s) concocted this sweet yet mild spicy glaze for the honey chili chicken which is addicting. We never had their salt and pepper fried chicken before and this was quite good. My favorite remains their garlic sauce version. The surprise standout dish was their beef chow fun. I've must have eaten this dish over a thousand times. Their chef(s)' interpretation added more depth by including chopped onions, scallions, bok choy, choy sum along with bean sprouts. The dish had a good smokey, wok hei flavor with the end tips of the beef, chow fun and onion caramelized. Chow fun could be boring but the chef did a good job with the light seasoning that rivals the best out there. Service was excellent. Constant water refills, extra napkins because the chicken. Side note, the owner's wife recognized me from my crispy noodles photo that I posted on Yelp when they first opened and gave me and my family an oyster sauce clams dish. That was an unexpected revelation. We were already so full. It is nice to be treated like VIP even though I'm just a regular guy that likes to eat. It is a testament to them being a small local restaurant that recognizes their customers. This genuinely made my week a little bit better. Walking home with a stuffed stomach beyond capacity is delightful. Great job everyone at JJamPPong. Original review 2/25/2022: Today's lunch included shrimp crispy pan-fried Hong Kong style noodles $17 and double fried garlic sauce chicken wings $15. The crispy noodles were delicious and I can recommend this. It tasted like the ones I used to get at the big banquet restaurants in Hong Kong's Kowloon district. Each bite was more captivating than the last. The weird thing was, there's no fancy ingredients other than bok choy, bits of carrots, minced garlic, gravy and shrimp. The secret was the right amount of gravy. Not too much making this dish crispy to the last bite.
The crab is absolutely delicious and it comes with all the fixings even with delivery. We also got the black bean sauce noodles and the twice cooked pork. I would say for delivery, stay away from the fried stuff as it gets soggy and chewy by the time you get it. But the crab came out amazingly, the sauce is great though a bit too spicy after eating so much of it but it’s addictive!
Came here with a group before a Cow Palace event and man was that a good choice! Good: - My first time trying raw crab - it was a little too spicy for me but otherwise such a good unique experience! They also give you gloves - Super nice staff, talked to us about which concert we were going to and the food also came out very quickly - Loved the ja jeong mian - the texture of the noodles and sauce to food ratio was great - The jjampong was really good too - the soup was tasty and the noodles were chewy - Pork and green bean was really good too, I usually don't like it as a dish - Good prices! Super reasonable. Bad: - Super simple casual place, not a fancy place Overall enjoyed this place so much, love the food!
food 8/10 - got the 5 specials - tangsuyuk (deep fried pork in sweet & sour sauce) was my favorite, chicken good but not too crispy, jajangmyeon good, seafood soup ok, raw marinated crab good but i just might not like raw marinated crab that much
Such good authentic Korean food! Definitely fulfilled my jajamyeon craving. Great value for the size of the portions too. And the owners are so sweet and friendly. Small family owned establishment and they give you Haribo gummy bears at the end 🥺
Probably one of my favorite places to get raw marinated crabs here in the City. I do think there needs to be a better balance between the spiciness and the flavors of crab meat, but it was still good, messy experience haha. Definitely recommend their wings as well! I don't think there are many Chinese Korean restaurants in the area. Haven't really taken a look for them - JJamPPong is a solid option for sure though!
Best Korean spicy marinated crabs I’ve ever had! You it is definitely spicy but good spicy. The crab meat is sweet and you can just suck it out the shells. It is fresh and does not have a the “ocean” smell. The marinate is spicy, a little sweet, sour, savory…just a mix of deliciousness. Eat the crab over a bed of warm white rice with pickle radish is out of the world!!!! Just wow! Perfect combination of flavors and textures. I would definitely come back and I would recommend for anyone to check this place out if you’re around San Francisco. Parking might be a little to find since it’s street parking but definitely worth it 💯 Delicious!!!!!
Love their Spicy raw crab! The paste was so tasty, crab very fresh and really refresh me. Service was great. Jajangmein had a mild flavor for me. Honey walnut shrimp was great but I'm not a fan of sweets, so I will try the garlic one next time.
This is our new favorite place. You do pay a little more but they are generous with the portions and the food is also really good. Instead of feeding two people with an $18 entree, you feed four people with a $24 entree. Significantly better value to eat with family. We had 3 people, 2 entrees, one order of rice, and we had to bring half of it home. Other places, we'd still be hungry.

Came here for their spicy marinated crab and it was definitely a MUST GET. The jajangmyeon was also very tasty. Also, their kimchi sidedish was so so good, even though it was pretty small portion. Will definitely be back to try their Chinese food. The staffs were attentive, good customer service.
The spicy seafood stew is the best! I loved it so much! Delicious and warming on a cold winter's night. Service is super nice and the restaurant was warm and bustling on a Friday night. Great vibes. Can't wait to come back and eat my way through the whole menu. 🤩

🫶First, a pleasant surprise. The bonus mouthwatering item, it's the KIMCHI! This is the old-fashioned kind, flavor-filled, briny, and savory. To find a similar one, and that's 46 miles south from this place, a gom tang eatery on El Camino Real. 👍The double fried chicken wings are huge. It's a big portion, too. Garlic sauce is really good, especially if you are not a big fan of those sweet spicy sticky sauce. 👍I noticed half the tables are Koreans, this is a very good sign food is authentic! 👀Also, fried rice seems to be a popular item, it's seen on quite a few tables. ⏰️Street parking. It's easier to find a spot if you avoid going at noon, or 7pm.
I came here with my relatives and we came specifically for the raw marinated crab. It was pretty good, but slightly too spicy for me 😅 I thought it would taste a little more salty. Anyways the Jjajiangmyeon was really good thought, but i don’t remember if there was yellow radish or not, but there was kimchi. The clams were good, but there was a lotttt of sauce and was veryyy thick lol. The service was pretty good 👍 The atmosphere kinda reminds me of a small canto dimsum restaurant lol and it’s pretty small so you have to wait a little during busy hours. Overall, I enjoyed it and it was a nice experience.
My friends took me here and it was good! The parking definitely sucks, so be prepared to look for a good minute. May have to park on the hills, so it can be a blessing in disguise if you eat a lot in this spot and you hike up to your car after. :) We ordered the spicy raw marinated crab, jajjangmyeon, garlic shrimp, and chicken wings. The wings were okay but every table had wings, so you know it's good. Although, I'm not much of a chicken wing fan and I've had better chicken wings someplace else. The garlic shrimp was great and shrimp was cooked well. Very garlicky! Jajjangmyeon had lots of pork bits, so every noodle bite had protein. The spicy crab, though I didn't like the texture (1st time trying), I genuinely liked the flavor! It was squishy and messy, but they give you gloves, so you can eat the crabs and squeeze out the meat onto your rice. It was the right amount of spicy!
Three of us had a good dinner here. Street parking is hard to find we ended up four blocks away. The menu seems split between Korean and Chinese. The food came out fast the price was fair and quality fine. For a casual dinner this was good. Interior is a little on the generic side.
Food: 4-5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: Casual Value: 5/5 We ordered the fried chicken wings, tangsuyuk, and HK chow mein. We did not order the spicy raw crab as we weren’t in the mood. However it’s very well known here and I’ve gotten feedback from friends it’s authentic. The fried chicken wings were a 4⭐️. Good crispiness and flavor. I would argue San Tung’s or Home Eat’s wings in South Bay are more flavorful. The HK chow mein was standard - 4⭐️. I really enjoyed the tangsuyuk 5⭐️. Service was attentive and I like how it’s a family run restaurant where nephews work as waiters. Portions were sizable and generous. 5⭐️ here. For JjamPpong to get 5⭐️, I expected a better banchan selection. You only get kimchi and radish. I’d definitely come back here again to satisfy my Korean cravings.
