Amazing pupusas, chicharon and horchata. There are even tables outside so you can dine al fresco.

Fantastic. If you value authenticity, if you want to pick up meat by the pound. If you want to try Salvadorean soda that tastes like sugar flavored bubble gum. Burrito review: (carnitas) Meat forward, tight wrap, all elements were doing what they are meant to do. Def an option worth considering even though this is burrito central location wise. It was a beautiful day and they had little plastic table and chair setups on Florida Street.

Absolute hidden treasure. Best burrito for about $15 I’ve ever tried, meat was so juicy and tasty, it’s just incredible in compare to all others I tried before. They also sell meat a la carte per pounds I’m definitely going to visit again Wow

I love this place and loved the food there! The burritos are full of flavor and the pupusas are hella good too. Super packed on the weekends so be ready to wait. Mission icon!

Of the many, authentically yummy treats at this historic Mexican deli / taqueria is the CHICHARRON — $12.99 per pound and coming in three different forms: (a) pure meat, (b) pork belly, and (c) skin-on pork belly. The latter makes for a flavorful, texture bomb — crunchy, tender, juicy all in one bite. Perfect for a picnic or weekend lunch at home, with handmade tortillas hot off the grill (around noon), and wrapped ready-to-go. Containers of salsas, guacamole, and pico de gallo also conveniently available.

5 stars for masa/grocery, 4 stars for burritos. Masa that’s still warm! Peruvian beans were sooo creamy when cooked, and seemed super fresh. Burrito line is crazy on a weekend, even at 3pm. Tortilla was great (soft) but burrito was missing pico de gallo. Comes with a small bag of chips.

If you want masa to make your own tortillas you can order at the deli counter by the pound. It’s not sitting in the display cases. And then you pick it up at one counter and then you can pay at the third counter. There is the “simple” kind or the tamale kind that has lard in it. You can make your own tamale with the simple kind and add oil or butter. This is the authentic deal!

Masa products made on-site, fresh daily, and they've been open for over 80 years. Trying a variety of things here is a good idea if you've only ever been exposed to tacos and burritos, but this is truly mexican territory on 24th Street and it may take some figuring out if you, like me, don't speak a lick of Spanish. So this place is a mexicatessen, in that it's roughly operating similar to a deli with a selection of things you can eat freshly made or buy ingredients to make your own or snacks for later. Since they grind masa one of those products is varieties of masa products like corn flour masa, tortillas, corn chips, but also all the things that go with it - queso, dried chillies, canned beans and pickles by the jar, house made chicharron, dips, hot sauce, premade guacamole, etc. That part makes up the bulk of the public space, counter at the front on your left as you walk in, fridges on the left wall and a shelf of goods that splits the small stall into two tight fitting aisles, if it's busy you may not have much room. Towards the far side as you walk in you get to the food ordering counter. You can pick off the screens, which rotate between submenus, so waiting for the screens can be annoying. Everything is made in the large manufacturing space behind that counter, and they are always busy with production. Now, even if you and one of the folks behind the counter are speaking English, it may be hard to communicate because of accents - as an Aussie with a soft voice that can't pronounce the things on the menu I had to repeat things many times so your mileage may vary, but they are there to help while accomplishing other tasks so be patient. Now you can get tacos, burritos, or quesadillas, sure. But you want to try pupusas (flat breads stuffed with choice of protein), gordita (think stuffed pita with lots of cheese and choice of protein), tamales (steamed masa with choice of protein), tortas (sandwiches), be different and try a variety, look at pictures here on google maps and ask, the menus are fairly descriptive. Once you place your order you get a number and can pay at the other counter at the front, which is also where you pick up your order. They call out numbers in Spanish so I had to listen for something tres because I can only count to 6 thanks to the Offspring and Pretty Fly for a White Guy but they won't get upset if when it's quiet that you check on your order. There's space to the side of the shop outdoors with a small row of tables and chairs, which may be quite sunny and only lightly shaded if you need it depending on time of day.

Amazing food, reasonable prices. Great place to grab a pint of cooked beans or a stack of fresh corn tortillas. Tables outside to eat your burritos and what have you. The vegetable burrito was great, tho if you don’t want large pieces of carrot, broccoli, and such I understand. Tortilla chips are incredible. Grab a full chicken for $10 or cater a party for $100.

I love this place. I was introduced to it a couple years ago. It use to be family owned not sure if it still is. The inside of the store/restaurant is tiny, but full of goodies. These burritos are to die for. They set my burrito bar pretty high. The carnitas and taco sonora are delicous. Their tortillas both corn and flour are amazing. Yes they are pricey but totally worth it. I will drive an hour just to go get a burrito and pick up some tortillas. I feel bad that I didn't get a good picture of the burrito but it was too good to stop and take one.

Excellent collection of different plates, as well as many salsas/handmade tortillas etc I had the pupusas and huaraches, both of which were incredible. The piña agua fresca was also delicious. This is a definitely a favorite of the neighborhood.

After a zesty bike ride, the perfect spot for a mid-ride lunch and beer. The tasty burrito supreme with carnitas($8.59) was too tasty to put down and I scarfed it all down, with some tasty orange-hued salsa that was quite incredible. I am told this is the place to buy fresh tortillas. I have no reason not to believe they are the best on the planet. My compatriots were sastisfied with their fare as well. Next time, I'd probably go tacos, just to lighten the load, befor getting back on the bike.

We wanted to ensure we received all of our food and the teller became rude at our asking! First time this happens. The food, great as always.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Solid (1=Avoid, 3=Standard, 5=Can't Miss). There's no seating here, just pickup. But in my search for good Mexican food in the city, La Palma takes the top spot for fast, casual. The spicy refried beans here are a must if you are getting a burrito and the orange sauce is good! Prices are also fairly reasonable given the quantity, but I would stick to the burritos here (tacos and super tacos were difficult to eat). Street parking only for La Palma.

We also came here as well since we wanted to know what their food also tasted like since we are around the area as well and was great.

Got the super burrito with carnitas, black beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo. Cost was $16.50. Too much rice/beans in the entire burrito. Not enough cheese. The ingredients tasted fresh, except for the carnitas. The carnitas was very dry, tough to chew and very bland(see photo). Really disappointing. If the carnitas was fresh and flavorful, with less rice/beans, this would've been a great burrito. For $16.50 a burrito needs to taste great, not the case here. Based on the lack of quality on the carnitas, and too much rice/beans, I will not be back.

My first experience was amazing, the tacos were the best tacos I’ve had in SF. The home-made tortilla, chicken flavor, salsa… delicious. My second experience was suboptimal. They wouldn’t provide me with free salsa with my order. I bought 3 tacos, and when I asked for 1 salsa, the lady was attempting to hand it to me and then asked for “50 cents.” AND I gave them a tip ($3). I declined the salsa. And their “grilled chicken” wasn’t grilled this time, it was cubed chicken cooked lacking flavor. The home-made tortilla barely cooked. I’ll go back a third time though… the first experience was delicious… hoping the second visit is an anomaly.

Would have gave it more stars, go early, they are very busy, got the feeling, they don't care for the customers as long as you pay. There is really no parking, unless you get lucky like I did and get a spot. Beef tamales are good, refried beans are good...

Ordered super burito, paid for extra meat, got almost no meat in the burito, but a lot of beans.. very small buritoin a first place, . plus left $3.50tip, Very disappointed, and the small bag of chips was dry old chips. Only the salsa was worth.
