Showed up on a busy Saturday with a full house of people and pick ups. I had the most delicious mango lassi, tandoori mixed plate (salmon, chicken and lamb) and my boyfriend had butter chicken masala. The garlic naan was HUGE! Prices were amazing.

A hidden gem in Richmond neighborhood. Food is great and price is reasonable. Service is superb and quick. Highly recommend the lamb chops. 10/10 Samosa is a little tough. 8/10 They gave us complementary crisp thin Indian bread as appetizer and sweet soup as dessert. Restaurant itself is very clean and nicely decorated.

Very friendly staff, I have been coming here for a few years already. Food is consistently good, they have the best Butter Chicken Masala and Garlic Naan of every Indian restaurant I have tried! To the point that's now, how I measure if the food is as good at other places. Hands down, best Indian food! The location is not too busy and they stay open later than most restaurants, always a good bite, especially for dinner, when parking is easy around Geary.

This is one incredible Indian restaurant. The seafood biryani I had was so good. I ate every bite. I didn’t go away hungry. I highly recommend people try this place out at least once if you are in San Francisco. The ambiance of the place is very fancy and the service was very friendly. I would like to give them 5 stars all around.

WOW! What an amazing culinary delight! We were visiting from Miami, originally from West London so know a good curry when we taste one. Ocean Indian offers exceptional North Indian/Nepalese, dishes at prices that are ridiculously low for the quality you are getting! I'd like to say thanks to Tara and our young waiter, both were just so hospitable and welcoming - Indian hospitality at its very best.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had! Everything was euphorically delicious. An explosion of aromas, spices, and flavors. We asked for extra spicy for the Lamb Vindaloo. They were not messing around. Once you take a bite, you are able to taste all the fragrant spices and wonderful flavors and then the spiciness creeps up and kicks you with that burn, but you can’t stop eating. The Tandoori Mixed Platter was a great decision because it had multiple proteins all on one plate. All the meats were tender and cooked nicely. Instead of just one server, we had three very attentive and friendly servers. They were very efficient as well. Our order was taken quickly. The drinks arrived quickly. Our waters were always full throughout the evening. All the dishes came in a timely manner. I definitely recommend Ocean Indian Cuisine and plan to bring all my friends here when we crave Indian food.

We had a great meal here with good service in a comfortable setting. At first, the tamarind sauce was very thin, but when we asked for a thicker one, they quickly brought it out. We enjoyed papadam, eggplant pakora, chana masala, palak paneer, and coconut veg curry with rice and breads and also red wine and beer. All of it was delicious!

Ocean restaurant has very nice staff, checking if the food is good or not, if we need anything. Food is also delivered at table reasonable fast. The atmosphere and decor is also nice. The food was extremely good, especially the chicken korma. Again the staff was so nice that they gave complimentary papad and chai but this depends on staff if they decide to give it to anyone. Definitely nice and would go again.

One of my favorite spots in SF for a relatively affordable and generous dining experience. Just be wary that during rush hour on weekdays the restaurant receives a tremendous amount of take out orders so the kitchen is at times overwhelmed. It took a while to get served around 5 PM. They were super kind and offered us free beverages and desserts for the inconvenience. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing! I’ve spent time in India, so I know what I’m talking about — and this place is the real deal. The garlic naan came straight from the tandoor — huge, flavorful, and crispy. The chicken korma was perfectly creamy and rich, and the palak paneer was delicious and comforting. Best Indian food in the city. Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been coming to Ocean Indian for 4 years now. I’m no Indian food expert, but this is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Staff is friendly, food is delicious, and it’s been consistently good all the time I’ve been here. Their prices are really good, and the portions are big. I cannot recommend this place enough, and even though I eat at other Indian food places, I will always be loyal to Ocean Indian. Love you guys!!!!

i feel that service and food quality is truly amazing. but i’m removing points because the wait time is just far too long. i think the shortest i’ve waited was 20 min and the longest was 30+. i appreciate them giving us a small dish because the wait time is long but that’s my only qualm with this place with it also not having a heater when it’s cold as there is the sf wind draft always coming through.
