One of the last of the old school pizzeria in San Francisco. They out out a great pizza. Try pesto sauce with pepperoni.
Best pizza within a 3 mile radius. Perfect, everytime. To the point where we won't bother to order from pizza from anywhere else. We tried out other pizza from other local Italian restaurants. Pasquale's is spot on. Clam linguine is awesome, too. Awesome pizza. Been a customer since I was 3. :)
Perfect selection of offerings for the personal size pizzas. The server was fun and fast. I enjoyed the ambiance. The manager or maybe the owner? Was very outgoing, nice, and ensured we were pleased with everything. This is old school service. My kind of place
Best pizza in San Fran. When I am an hour from here I make the drive. Texas where I live and every visit I make my way there. The owner is the best. As I think of my pizza from last week, I wanna fly back and get another large!
The server sat us down right away. The pizza is a good price. 35 dollars for extra large. Pizza is freshly made. We ordered a extra large pizza.
For over 50 years Pasquale’s Pizza has served the best pizza and pasta in San Francisco. The pizza crust , sauce and toppings are all proven Top quality and very flavorful. This place is really special and not to be missed. It is worth a trip to SF just for the pizza. Very close to golden gate park and the museum and Japanese Tea garden.
the salmon steak burger made me question everything ive ever eaten before. best thing that has ever touched my tongue. I didn't know salmon could be this good. soul left my body. I can not emphasize enough how incredible it was. I hope this inspires you to experience what i experienced today
Very comfortable, they have the nicest staff. 100% the best water I've drank in my life. The pizza was absolutely scrumptious..
I wanted pizza for a meal today and this hit the spot. The staff was very accommodating as we had my Mom in her wheelchair. We ordered appetizers (chicken wings and the garlic cheese bread) one of us had soup and 3 of us shared a salad; we got an X vegetarian with pepperoni and the size of it stunned me, and the taste was even better. I would make this a regular stop on any visit here! !
Great Italian food after a long day spent at the garden/park. They have a nice selection of beverages including some local beers. Pizza was large and delicious! Service was very attentive and helpful and the ambience wad lovely!
This place is fantastic. Excellent customer service, very friendly and efficient. Any pizza I've gotten has always been fast, accurate, and super delicious. They have all kinds of toppings and size options, so I've gone by myself and with friends. I also love their garlic bread. It was so fresh and authentic that now I have order it every time. I'd pick Pasquale's over any chain any day.
I used to go there back in 2013-2014 Andy favorite were the clams, I had a waiter who would always get me and he’d knew what my specific order was. I loved that place everyone was like family. My family and I used to live there for a year cause I was diagnosed with cancer. But once I beat it I never stepped foot again at Pasquale’s. I hope the waiter I for got his name is doing good and I hope everyone who I knew still works there and is doing good aswell. I’m hoping to return back bring back some memories. Take care Pasquale’s and thank you for always taking good care of my family and i when we went :)
I've always been impressed with the quality of the pizza at Pasquale's Pizzeria. The prices are reasonable and the pizza is made with fresh ingredients, and it is cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend Pasquale's Pizzeria to anyone looking for a delicious slice of pizza in San Francisco. A couple of my favorites: Pepperoni pizza: This is the most popular dish at Pasquale's Pizzeria. The pepperoni is cooked just right, and the cheese is melted and gooey. Sausage pizza: This is another popular dish at Pasquale's Pizzeria. The sausage is flavorful and juicy, and the sauce is just the right amount of spicy.
One of my favorite places to go for pizza in San Francisco
This lovely restaurant is small but has an amazing atmosphere. The servers are nice, the food is wonderful and they do what they can to accommodate your needs. Our food was taking a little longer than expected (which was fine, they were busy so I understood) so they brought out some bread to munch on while we waited. When we were full of yummy food and ready to go into a food coma, the staff all yelled "goodbye", which was cute. I would recommend this place to anyone with a craving for moderately priced pizza, pasta and more!
Ordered the house special pizza, small with spinach for delivery. It was absolutely a masterpiece. The crust was light and airy, just enough toasted on the bottom, fresh ingredients, it was like straight from Italy. I never leave reviews. They deserve it for this.
The best waitress I have had in a very long time…. She was fantastic! And we are not an easy bunch for the record.
Great spot to get pizzas to go or delivery (they are old school and have their own delivery drivers). The pizzas are good and the prices are excellent. You can watch them rolling out the dough in the front window. They do a medium thickness crust and the traditional list of toppings. Highly recommended.
Excellent pizza in the inner sunset. I ordered take out during the 9er game and it only took them 20 minutes to bake. A well oiled machine that knows how to make a quality pizza with great sauce without the super long wait. Great service at the counter and over the phone.
Was in the area and stopped in for some pasta, ended up getting a pizza instead which was one of the best I've had in town. Fresh and ready in about 15 minutes. This place is my new go to for pizza and I'm coming back for the pasta! Crust was on point, sauce was flavourful and the cheese/cook really made it all that much better.
Amazing food and service, a staple of the sunset. Affordable for the area and a true family owned Italian buisness. Nothing beats the warm bread they serve (made fresh on site) combined with some pizza and a soda. They aren't reinventing the wheel but the authentic Italian food they serve is amazing. They have had a tough time getting through the pandemic, but the owner is a great guy and has been able to keep most of his employees employed.
Primarily a delivery outpost with a large sit down restaurant attached. A nice selection of dishes and pizzas and staff has been really nice when visiting. I'm a big fan of the calamari and sitting down to eat here. Definitely giving a shout out to David who works at the front. He helped us out a lot during first visit. The service is great our waitress was fun and quick with refills.
Me and my family decided to have some late night eats. Around 9:30 ish all places around the areas were closing and our options were growing small. After walking around for the longest, we decided to go to Pasquale's which happened to be right in front of where we parked our car. I honestly didn't expect too much but in the end I was absolutely wowed! I figured "oh another pizzeria. It'll probably be average but nothing surprising" I ordered the Gnocchi dish with marinara, Parmesan and cream. Not only was it delicious but the servings are generous! My family questioned if they received the right thing because of its portions. You totally get your money's worth here. In addition, at 11pm on a Saturday night, one would assume that the service would be dull and sometimes cranky. But our waitress was energetic, attentive, and kind. She is the epitome of what a waiter should be. If only I received her name because she totally deserves kudos. Me and my family may just become regulars at this place. I've lived in San Francisco for most of my life and it's incredibly hard to find a place with decent prices, generous portions and BOMB ass food. Can't wait for next time! I'm already craving the gnocchi!!!
Reminds me of Chicago thin crust, my absolute favorite style. Vibrant red pizza sauce, some of the best Italian sausage I have had as well. Crispy crust, nicely seasoned, and snappy to get to the table. Pasquale's grandson was our server, the absolute nicest young man. I hope he gets this restaurant someday, he cares a lot about it. Sorry no photo, ate it too fast.
We recently moved from the East coast and have been regularly disappointed with pizza out here. Pasquale's is the closest to NY style pizza we have had out here. We walked over after the zoo closed and had no wait. They make the pizza fresh right in front of you. Really like this place.
As an east coaster, the staff and the quality of food was a special memory of what I was used to go growing up, a home away from home!
Neighborhood staple, I love this business! Have been ordering pizza from here for last couple decades. They make some of the best loval thin slice pizzas in town.
This place was nice. I went around 3 and it wasn't too busy. The guy that waited on us was so kind and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we had a nice experience. The food was really good. My daughter had the chicken Alfredo, my other daughter and I shared a medium sunset special pizza, and my husband had some nice chicken wings with a lil spice to them. Everything was delicious and fresh. I will definitely go back and highly recommend it.
The personal pizza not only was delicious but for a 3 topping pizza (I love garlic, salami and sausage personally..) it was incredibly cost effective. It was around 10 bucks for the personal pizza and a can of soda. I work in the city and this is becoming a staple lunch for me. Suggest y'all check it out. Cheers.
Friendly service, really fast & easy, great prices, & really good ingredients. You can get a delicious personal pizza for yourself with loads of toppings to fill you up for under $11. Favorite spot in the Inner Sunset. Businesses like this make San Francisco feel like a small town. <3 EDIT: I’ve already reviewed this place but I had to come back because I can’t stop raving about it. My favorite local restaurant by far. I’ve tried their pizza, their pasta dishes, even their burgers (just devoured one). It’s all phenomenal. You can tell they really put a lot of care into their ingredient selection & great attention to the preparation. Their service is also amazing. Every time I come in, it’s the same friendly faces & they are always so upbeat that even when I come in a bad mood, I leave smiling. The woman who works there is the sweetest. The pizza cooks are always super nice. It’s also really convenient that they’re open so late because I’m often popping in for a late dinner. One of the best & most valuable places in the Inner Sunset for me.
I didn't eat here. I stopped by to get a takeout menu. I am so excited to go in the near future and try the food. Looks great smells great inside!
Really can’t beat the price. Pizza is very good. Super friendly staff. Can’t say enough about them. Absolutely making this our go-to Italian.
I love this place and for so many reasons. Firstly, the food is fantastic. It's so fresh and delicious and is served in hefty portions. I had the spaghetti with mushrooms and marinara. My partner had the lasagna which was as big as a loaf of bread. Secondly, the service is friendly without being "in-your-face." Thirdly, and importantly, it is open late. It's hard to get a meal after 10 in the city, but this place is open until 11! Finally, for the amount of delicious food you get, the prices are totally reasonable. The only downside is the atmosphere. I don't mind the 50's decor, but the lights are too bright. If Pasquale's would only replace the bulbs with ones with lower wattage, that would improve the atmosphere a lot.
This restaurant is a local Italian classic. It's been a neighborhood favorite for many decades. We had a pizza and it was perfect. They have great pasta dishes too.
great folks in a great place making some great food- what more could you ask for? no frills or fanfare, just real eats. can't go wrong with a pizza from pasquale's.
Although you can't say this is a place with fancy atmosphere, it's very fun and all the locals come and lots of families and it's very cheerful and happy. So I gave it five stars. The food is great. The place is very basic but very very good. There's nothing fancy about the Parmesan cheese but some of the pastas are amazing and very unusual and very very good. The baked pastas are especially good. The salads again are nothing fancy but are actually really delicious and well made. The garden salad is full of fresh vegetables with red onion and tomato and the antipasto salad is awesome. I just discovered the Greek Caesar which is extremely delicious. The pasta carbonara is the best I've ever eaten anywhere and they have something unique that they call all a Louisiana which is kind of a Cajun Creole sort of thing with large prawns and pretty spicy. I would highly recommend that too. And the linguine with fresh clams is excellent. And of course their pizza's really famous and has been around for almost 75 years now.
Medium pizza feeds 2. Very good food. Got the pepperoni and Italian sausage and the fried wings
We came here super late for dinner after a concert and had the best service and food. They were really busy but still super quick. The sunset pizza was awesome and the guy who seemed to be running it (he said his dad opened it in 1958 IIRC) was super friendly and gave us great recs.
It is pretty good, would definitely revisit fo their bread
We decided as a family that Pasquale's makes the best sausage pizza. They make their own and it's seasoned well and always in good size chunks on their pizzas. Our go to is a 4 topping, sausage, onions, mushroom and garlic pizza. Root beer as a chaser. Yum!
Very good.... good ingredients great atmosphere for pizza place it has ecerything it should have..... old school look, feel, and taste ..we will be back
I love this place! It’s always been the highlight of the area every time I come downtown. My most recent experience was great!! Our server was very friendly and accommodated us with free bread and butter. My buddy and I ordered the house special, which is our favorite pizza from Pasquale’s in our server recommended we add garlic to it to enhance the flavor. It really did and it was delicious. I’m leaving this review to show massive support to Pasquales especially right now during this slow period. If you are ever around Irving and want to have a nice good pizza to close out your day, Definitely give Pasquales a massive shot because their pizza is fantastic and the staff is Even better.
We were looking for a late bite when we were lured in by the wonderful aroma. We thought we were going to get a quick pizza but the friendly, welcoming folks inspired us to sit down. Instant old-school vibes, you can tell they've been doing this forever and are very proud of their work. Even though we were initially thinking pizza, but after seeing the menu we went with full meals. Our waiter brought the Pinot Grigio over and got the party started! Everything we had was great! The sausage was out of this world, the shrimp was super tasty and the meat cooked to perfection. It was my first time there, but now will be a destination when I visit the city.
Alex was our server and we got a French burger, meat cooked to medium 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤, pepperoni pizza and We got a stake sandwich as well. The bread and mozzarella was delicious to have while we waited for our food. we are definitely coming back in the future. Parking sucked-everything else 10/10🤌
I LOVED THIS PLACE I HEARD THE REG MENU JUST HAS PIZZA BUT LET ME TELL YOU ASK FOR ALL THE OTHER DISHES. I will not spill the beans here - you gotta go and experience it yourself. I can't rave about it enough. I hardly write reviews but I'm writing this one!!!! The pizza is also amazing. Joe is the best - keep that man there forever. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yummmmm fresh made, good food. We loved the garlic bread with cheese, the pizza, the calamari steak, and the linguine with shrimp. All the basics, done top notch with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. We will be back!!!
It's THAT pizza spot. Really solid food. Simple atmosphere. You come here to grab pie and have a beer. A simple life this can be.
The food was delicious. So much to choose from. Specialty pizzas, traditional and specialty pasta dishes, appetizers, baked stuffed potatoes, main entrees, sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts. Freshly baked sourdough bread while you wait for your food. As you enter you see them making the pizzas with fresh ingredients and smells so delicious. The staff is friendly and make your dinning experience very enjoyable. They make you feel like family and so welcoming. This is definitely my go to location when I'm in San Francisco!!!!
We were visiting San Francisco for the first time, and this place was near where we were staying. We had previously been downtown in Little Italy, but due to not finding parking we decided to head back down to the area to get dinner instead. What a fortunate turn of events for us. We were all craving some homemade, simple, REALLY good Italian food. Two of us are vegetarian, so it was a pleasant surprise to see so many options on their menu. One of us ordered the meat lasagna, and they give you a huge slab of it. It was perfect according to the one who ate it. Exactly what he'd been craving all day! Another of us ordered the eggplant sandwich. According to her, it was also excellent! I ordered the eggplant parmesan, which came with penne pasta with marinara sauce, and steamed veggies. The portion of eggplant was generous, cheesy, tomato-y, and all around delicious. I easily could have had leftovers, but I opted to eat the whole thing because...who wants to deal with leftovers on vacation? Also, they serve you fresh sourdough Italian bread. We did order some garlic bread with pesto, which was already amazing in itself. But the bread that they do give you is that kind of special bread that is perfectly toasty, and they give you that really good cold butter in gold wrapping. If I had any criticism, I wish there were more restaurants like this back home in my town! Thank you for the experience, we look forward to visiting again in the future!
What to say about this place? I wouldnt come for the ambiance per se. Mostly a takeout place with actually a large area for dining that has papered over windows. The pizza was very good tho, and very fairly priced. We had the personal pizzas sunset and Hawaiian? And both were superb. And also pretty big for a personal pizza. Neither of us could finish. Friendly waitstaff and service.
A reliable, no-frills pizza place that has served the neighborhood for decades. Nice folks run the place, and they'll serve you a personal sized pizza for around $8 which is one of the best deals going in the neighborhood these days. No website or online ordering, but they are on Doordash now.
Great place to go for late night munchies. We ordered pepperoni and spinach pizza, a mixed green salad, and linguine and clams with white sauce. Delicious! And it wasn't too expensive (around $40 with tax and tip). The bread is good but make sure to ask them to heat it up if they don't do it for you. The pizza's crust is perfectly thin/crispy and it's not too oily. The linguine and clams was also delicious and not too large of a portion. Perfect for two people!
Located on a busy street with metered parking. Two entrances. One leads to the sit down meal section/resturant, whereas the other entrance is the pick up/carry out section. Pizza was good and made fresh. Service was decent as we got our drinks and order quickly but seemed fast paced and rushed a couple of times; for example, our plates and utensils getting picked up when we still were eating our pizza (and the plates being in front of us not to the side with napkins on it). Would return for future visits.
Fantastic neighborhood staple. Food is always excellent, whether pizza or sandwich or whatever else. A reliable go-to as far as the food is concerned HOWEVER -- they need to get with the 21st century. Can't order online and the credit card payment situation is hit-and-miss when you call in. Not really an acceptable proposition in the 21st century, guys. Get with the times.
Perhaps my favorite pizzeria in SF. This place has been here awhile and you can't go wrong. It can be challenging to find parking at times, so that can be hit or miss. But for old school atmosphere and taste it's hard to beat. The prices are great and did I mention the pies are excellent.
Here is a very well-known Pizzeria with an extensive menu of Italian food and the atmosphere is very welcoming to a family group! We needed a large table to accommodate our group and we were provided one and the server was outstanding! She made sure as busy as they are to make sure our every need was met! Most people that grew up in the sunset district (I did not) always refer to this as one of the top pizzerias anywhere on the west side! I think you'll find that you will agree with that opinion!
The pizza, ambiance, and and service were average. Their salads and pasta are above average. I highly recommend the Greek Salad - the dressing is delicious. I noticed folks at other tables ordered a lot of seafood (calamari, clams) so I bet their seafood is very good. I will try it next time.
Great place -- service sometimes slow, but that's because it is a local institution
Low-key and consistently good dinner spot. The service is friendly and attentive, and the food never disappoints. The menu is huge, which makes it easy to try something new every time you go. Portions are generous, and it’s especially great for family-style dining where everyone can share. A reliable go-to for a relaxed and satisfying meal.
Tried the baked zitis at Pasquale’s. They have a lot of good options if you’re in the mood for italian food and I think the pizzas are definitely worth trying. The zitis were average and I would recommend to try other options. They get full points for their staff and ambience and service.
We have been eating here off and on for 44 years. When we were living in San Francisco it was our favorite restaurant and every time we visit this has been the first restaurant we eat at and we never leave town without eating there at least one more time. In October it was perfection, in March, not so much. The pizza while still good was not the perfection we have to come to expect. We had the same waiter both times this week and he was angry and distracted. If we were giving the star rating for service alone it would be a one Will we back? Of course we will but we will be hoping it was just a bad week for the restaurant, another experience like this and we will be finding a new pizza joint
This place is not accepting dine-in right now, despite the label. The lady was nice, but I haven't yet tried the food. I will revisit this review afterwards and if it is good, I'll bump it to 4 stars. EDIT: The food was okay. Not my top 3 for spaghetti, and the vegetables were hard.
Over the years the service seems to have gotten slower and slower. The food is consistently good which is why we return and always have more than enough for a meal or two the next day. Worst part about our last visit was that we had to wait about 15 mins til we were able to flag the waitress down for the check. As advice, sit in the first room after walking down the stairs, seems to be the one that you get noticed in by the staff.
The pizza is reasonably priced, but you get what you pay for. We recently moved from the East coast, but have been impressed with other SF pizza places (Golden Boy and Tony’s in North Beach; slice house in Haight). This place definitely missed the mark for us. The sauce and cheese end about 1.5-2 inches from the edge of the crust, the sauce is sweet and peppery, and the crust is extremely dry. A pie with toppings is better than their cheese because the toppings help hide the flavor of their sauce.
The food is decent, I had the lasagna Prices are fair Service not so much I mean they get the job done but would it kill them to crack a smile or show appreciation for their customers I was sitting in the back and they never explained there was a large group coming in So I literally became blocked in And as I left the Host nearly ran me over by bumping into me and didn't bother saying excuse me or thank you for coming Probably would not recommend to anyone just based on the poor attitude of the servers and host Obviously it's just a job to them
Got the Sunset Special delivered. It was just like any ordinary combo pizza, but especially disappointing because it’s their special and the top suggestion in reviews. I don’t get the hype.
The pizza here is terrible. The pasta is decent - I come here for free bread, house wine, eggplant parm, and tiramisu 🤌🏾 but again the pizza is so bad it's a joke among my friends. I'm not even picky - I eat dominos and Tony's and flour+water and Costco and I enjoy it all. Except our neighborhood Pasquale's.
I have been coming to Pasquale’s for a long time now. What keeps me coming back here are the wonderful memories I had over the year sharing food with friends and family. This place is great for family and friend gatherings, because of the family size portions served here. Unfortunately over the years the place has gotten outdated, and I wish they would improve on their customer service and quality of food. Sometimes you can come here and have wonderful experience, get food served right away that tastes great, but then there are times when things are not aligning for this business. And with similar business in the area is becoming more difficult for me to stay loyal to this place.
Friendly and chill spot, good if you want big portions cheap, and if you have kids. But basically knock off Italian quality. Our reaction to the seafood pasta was, "what happened here?"
We had a great pizza there in September, but when we came back the order was wrong, pizza not anything like how it was first time. The young woman who I went back to was very nice and helped correct the mistake another lady made, but cheese was like rubber, ham almost questionable on freshness, and crust flavorless. Maybe we just got lucky first time, or unlucky second, but will try others now.
Disappointed with the quality: crust noticeably bland as was the sauce. The cheese was surprisingly devoid of any flavor; they may have mixed in some imitation mozzarella but it was hard to tell. Nothing exceptional pizza-wise is available in San Francisco after 10pm sadly. At least the tiramisu was good as was the service.
I've been going to this place for decades, and disappointingly will never go back again after today. The last time I went they got my order wrong, but I dealt with it since I was already home. This time, they overcharged me more than 7$ and when I brought it up the guy gave me a look like I was insulting his family. I could deal with the horrible parking and attitude if I at least got good food at the price listed.
Customer service was not good at all. We asked for water and never got it. Asked for plates and never got it. Asked for napkins and never got it. I'd rather go to Little Caesars then here, it's crazy. Rude tone as well. Never coming here again.
Visited this place last night, we ordered the anchovy salad and medium size cheese pizza. Salad was good we loved the sourdough bread but the pizza was not fresh, it was preheated! We were really disappointed. Even though they told us that they serve fresh pizza all the time, it was 100% preheated and didn’t taste that good any more. I guess we should’ve ordered something more rare type of pizza than it’s a medium size cheese pizza, as they would’ve had to make it specially for us. We will never visit this place again, for sure!!!
Make sure to double-check your order because they don’t always listen. I ordered a house special, but I made the mistake of not verifying it when they notified me that my pizza was ready. They gave me a different pizza called the Sunset. When I called them back to report the mistake, they insisted that I had ordered the Sunset, a pizza I didn’t even know existed. So, beware and double-triple-check your order to avoid any mix-ups. Now I regret tipping them!!!!
I ordered from DoorDash and one item was missing from the delivery. I called them to find a solution but the person taking the call was extremely rude, she called me a lier, refused to help, yield at me and hang up the phone. More than the item missing it was the terrible service what ruined our night.
This used to be my favorite pizza place in the whole city! Unfortunately no more... Recently I had ordered two xl pizzas and both were completely burned on the bottom when I got home. When I called the place to request a refund or a new pizza, I got yelled at by a rude lady who was in charge of the shift working there. She tried to suggest that it was my fault somehow that I didn't let the staff know earlier that the pizzas were uneatable. The staff that works there does not know how to make a decent pizza and for the money they charge to be incapable to even make sure that it's not burned when it's packed, is quite ridiculous! Yet, even more ridiculous that instead of taking ownership of the issue and fixing it as well as hiring some competent staff, the manager would yell at the customer. Really?! I won't be going there that's for sure!
I should’ve been to cybelles all these years which is an 2 minute from Pasquale’s. Been here multiple times and the women who you speak, has an indifferent or angry tone only. The pizza I got today was so bad I’ll be throwing it away for some frozen pizza. This was the amount of pizza for $38
The worst pizza I have ever tried. I ordered a medium pizza and I asked for thin crust. I could not eat this pizza because it was soft and uncooked from the middle. I threw it in the garbage because I could not even eat it. Plus, it was expensive for half and half. I pay almost $40 for a medium. Yeah, I do not mind paying for a pizza that taste good, but this was not. I do not like to give negative reviews but I needed to say something about this place so they can improve.
