The king crab meal is very special - they make it 3 different ways!! We did steamed with vermicelli, fried with salted duck yolk and sautéed with noodles. You can also do sautéed with rice or steamed with egg. Make sure to call ahead and pre-order. The servers were very friendly and hard working. Can’t wait to be back!

Everything was delicious, but getting at least one seafood dish is a must. Their salted fish and chicken fried rice is my favorite so far in SF. The portions are generous and the staff is friendly.

July 2025: Came here for dinner and had more delicious food. Oysters on a sizzling platter, deep fried squab, sea cucumber clay pot, and winter melon soup were my favorites. Solid place for Chinese food! May 2024: Stopped by for dinner. Thought I would update my review. Dinner was still very good. Favorites included the special poached chicken 🐔 with ginger sauce, clams with black bean sauce, and spareribs. Would come back again for more delicious dinner. May 2018: Love eating here for dinner. January 2018; Great Chinese food.

A reasonable, priced hole in the wall family owned restaurant, but they serve a delicious variety of generous portions of dim sum and Chinese food. Fast and friendly service. We all left the restaurant stuffed with some leftovers. Although it was our first time, it won't be our last. We'll be back! If you have not been there, don't walk, run! Just to remind you, they get busy. Apparently, it's a popular pocket friendly place that serves delicious Chinese food! Cheers!

Best 炸兩 (fried doughnut wrapped in rice noodle) we've found in San Francisco so far - HK quality. In general all the dim sum was good. Decent portion sizes and Wide selection of all the dishes you'd expect - even the unappetizing ones like pig gut. Service was quick and friendly. We got there after the lunch rush and they seated all 10 of us quickly. It's a decent size so the noise level wasn't too high.

Riverside opens at 10am on the weekends. This is great for those of us that have to get food for to-go for family lunches at 12pm or earlier. I got their lobster e-noodles, salt and pepper crab and crispy salt and pepper spare ribs. $120 total. The service was excellent. I was waiting outside and the waiter brings it out with a smile. He remembered me! I'm always happy with the food. Dim sum and dinners are fantastic. Great job everyone at Riverside.

Came here early to yum cha with my dad, it was packed already. Luckily my dad was very close friends with the owner of this restaurant and we got seated quickly. I would definitely come back and recommend this to snyone who loves good dim sum.

A very nostalgic spot for me as I came a lot as a child and we would have yum cha with my family. Also very cool to see some waiters that are still there, I know they don't know me but everything I think of this restaurant I think of them to! This is definitely the spot to go, it's right on the corner. Delcious food and fast service and great atmosphere.

Slam dunk everytime. Have lots of family in SF and Riverside is a staple of our visits. Have been here 3 times this week (1 lunch/2dinners) and I could come back again no problem. Food is clean, veg is fresh and flavors and spices are dialed in just right. I really feel at home eating here and am blessed that it's so close to my in-laws house. People travel from all over to dine here (3,000 miles for me 😜) and I take it for granted sometimes. Maybe we will come back again tomorrow.

My good friend who has been living in the Bay Area more than 30 years recommended this place. She used it to live near this restaurant and the quality of foods hasn’t changed since she’s been coming since 1990s. I am not sure when this restaurant first opened but I have to stay their foods are overall authentic. We ordered sated fish and chicken fried rice , pea sprout with special sauce and various dimsum, rice noodles. They were all great and price was reasonable.

2026 update: Riverside Seafood Restaurant is my favorite restaurant in this area for take-out. My food was ready in 20 mins at 10:30am. Lobster e-noodles, deep fried crab, pea shoots and deep fried tofu. $143 total (includes tax.) As a bonus, the cashier always gives me a free fried sugar egg puffs. Good job everyone at Riverside Seafood Restaurant. Original review: Riverside opens at 10am on the weekends. Came for a SF Baiju Society event and the food was outstanding! Highly recommend the crispy squab, chicken stuffed with sticky rice, giant clam with vermicelli, and this crispy beef with soft tofu dish. Service was much better than expected, with lots of water filling and plate changing without being asked.

The dim sum was excellent. Food was fresh and came piping hot. We ordered by checking off our favorites on the menu sheet and minutes later the food started coming to us. The service was great and although the house was full when we arrived (which is always a good sign), our wait only lasted about 10 minutes. Will definitely be back when we have a craving for great dim sum.

came here for both dim sum lunch (Friday 11:30am) and dinner (Sunday 6pm). I enjoyed the dim sum more. the service is much better compared to other Chinese places. Service is polite, prompt on requests (iced water, hot sauce, check) but hard to flag down when the restaurant is full. when we sat down for dinner, there were no menu on the tables. it was being contributed to other tables that was reserved. I had to go up to the cashier lady to ask for the menu which she brought to us. they mostly have larger tables. We were a party of 5 so we sat at the most inner left corner of restaurant which made the duration of the meal feeling very stuffy and hot. for the dim sum, the pork liver was probably the best dish. pork liver was soft. the beef rice roll, the skin roll is a little too thick. beef ball was very soft and mild tasting. Fried pumpkin with salted egg was okay, I didn’t like the batter and not much salted egg taste but the pumpkin is soft. chicken feet was sweet. the mixed beef organ is another okay dish, not tender enough for elderly with no teeth. the fried pork dumpling didn’t have much filling. my dad did enjoy the black sesame dumpling and the pork dumpling ( I didn’t try). no condiments on the table for both dim sum and dinner so I asked for hot sauce which they promptly brought to me. dinner, overall the dishes very sweet or too salty. crab meats with fish maw soup had barely any crab meat, soup tasted only of salt so not flavorful. the best dish is the fried squab, tender and very tasty. beef cube with mushrooms, too salty. steamed chicken with ginger green onion sauce was tender and tasty but a little over salted. big pea sprout was okay, a little tough but maybe the sprout is out of season. Combination seafood clay pot with overly salty and had a sweet taste too, walnut shrimp didn’t have much mayo and too sweet but the shrimp was cooked just right. giant clam was tender but a little bland. they gave us free dessert, green bean soup (I didn’t eat it) but my family said not too sweet which is how Asian like their dessert. there is an automatic 18% tip added for a party of 6 but since we only a party of 5, tip was self added by us. they came to change our plate mid meal but only to two of the plates on our table. metered and residential parking. Residential parking was easier for me. the place is fairly big but the tables arrangements is a little tight. it was noisy and there was a guy next to our table who was the loudest in the whole restaurant.,he was very obnoxious and made it unpleasant to have to hear him throughout our meal (our party and his arrived at the same time).

Came here once awhile when I crave for dim sum as this place is nearby my in-law house. Waiting time is between 30 - 45 minutes for party of 2 to 4 on Sunday if arrive after 12:00 PM. The restaurant has more family tables than small tables. No space to wait inside. If you have big family & would like to dine here during rainy season, call to reserve a table. My review is only for dim sum as I never dined here for dinner & lunch. Shiu mai, shrimp dumping, steamed beef ball, steamed egg yolk bun, chicken feet are my favorite. The flavor of those dishes were still the same when I ate here today except steamed egg yolk bun. I didn't see the running egg yolk when I broke it in half & not moist. Bit of disappointed. I always ordered egg yolk bun when I ate here. First time ordered taro puff & beef organ in daikon. Love both dishes. Taro puffs weren't oily & decent amount of minced pork inside with taste of taro. Beef organs were soft & flavorful. Overall, great customer services & foods with affordable price. Parking is easy as the restaurant locates in the residential area. Downside is waiting time.

Good place for dim sum, no clearly labelled vegan options, would clarify with staff. Favorite veggie items to get are rice noodle roll w/ tofu and vegetable, soya chow fun, and salt and pepper tofu. Good place to go with omnis. Can be busy on the weekend at prime time so would recommend a reservation especially if going with a large group. There was no wait for lunch during the week.

Came to this place a few times for dim sum. The restaurant is of decent size and pretty clean. I like that there are some booths for smaller parties; and some big round tables for up to 8-9 people. Excellent customer service; and good price. Street parking is fairly easy to find. Food is pretty good in general--noodle rolls, taro puff, fried sugar egg puffs, glutinous rice dumplings, shumai, just to name a few. I would recommend going early on the weekends, as it could get crowded.
