Really clean, unpretentious bar with a nice Southwest/pioneer theme. Good space, good location, not too loud--a great place to have a date or chill with friends. The bartenders are also awesome!
Great relaxed neighborhood bar, wonderful vibe, and they serve a damn good Sazerac. And they have a vintage Galaga machine that only charges a quarter per game. ❤️ Highly recommended.
This is the best bar in SF. A miner theme! Hot food from Front Porch, great location, a photo booth, pool, black and white movies, and a bar tender who plays OSees. What more could a person ask for?
The Rock Bar may be a new fixture in La Lengua, but it feels like an old favorite. The charm of it's neighboring and co-owned restaurant The Front Porch has shaped this local hang out into a fun and funky watering hole with a combination of pool hall, speakeasy and miners getaway. I like to stop in on Sunday morning for some fresh OJ, and if the Front Porch is crowded I bring my breakfast over and settle down to enjoy my baked egg dish with bacon crack- to die for.
Great neighborhood bar where you can watch games. They occasionally do free bbq. I helped Drew man the grills for a bit. Had a $2 PBR and tried the Alabaster cocktail and an old fashioned which were decent. Staff is friendly and you can order food from Front Porch and they'll deliver.
This place has a local, dive bar feel (and I mean that as a compliment). The cocktails and beers are quality and a good value for the price. And it’s usually not very crowded earlier in the evening. Honestly it has everything I want in a bar.
Super chill staff and always playing great music. The people who frequent there are some of the best as well. Great drinks, and the happy hour is a good one.
The Rock Bay never disappointments. Not quite a full blown dive bar, but nothing fancy. Drinks are great, people are nice and the crowd is mellow. I'm a big fan
Cool divey spot with good beers, good cocktails, a few nice bartenders, a (nice, kinda expensive at $2/play) pool table, a photo booth, and a partnership with Front Porch across the street for food (or whatever you want to bring in). It occasionally has that "you're not a regular" off-putting feeling and single use bathrooms, but that's to be expected and doesn't take away from it. They also have some seats outside for when the weather's nicer. I usually stop in at the end of the night, but went recently earlier in the afternoon and they had a real sweet bartender who could make a great old fashion, and it was cool to see what it looks like inside with some sunlight, even though it means missing out on the spinning color lights they usually have running.
10/10 experience here, unpretentious friendly and cheap. The lovely bartender flower 🌸 also paid for my friend and I to use the photo booth as we had no cash (we later found out it also takes card so they were being extra sweet!!): highly recommend
NOT OPEN RIGHT NOW! Love this neighborhood watering hole but went there yesterday, sat in the outdoor benches and got major attitude from the server for not “checking in first.” Took us an hour to realize it’s being used as overflow seating for The Front Porch and he meant we were supposed to come talk to him at the restaurant across the street. Not sure how we were supposed to know that but my recommendation is wait until the actual bar is back open. Not worth the hassle, attitude or money for over-sugared cocktails we got.
I have only been here on Mondays but every time I have been here I had great service and the bartenders are always friendly

Great little neighborhood bar with pool table and amazing spicy margaritas. Dog friendly and cozy

Great Bar, friendly people, warn environment, good cocktails and Beers.
My experience with this place was great friendly people friendly bouncer. The only incident I had in 20 years going to this place was from a snow flake not liking my veteran's shirt oh well the bouncer asked my side and realized I did nothing he told me no problem never had that before very nice and professional. They have one pool table there and every second Friday or Saturday they move the table for dancing. They have a few great pool player's that come in and battle it out all are very friendly and have awesome sportsmanship. The reason I only gave four stars is two reasons one sometimes the music gets so loud you have to raise your voice to talk to anyone. Two its low lighting a little dark so if your in your late 40s like myself its hard to see what kind of bill your pulling out of your billfold to pay for drinks I always need to bend down by the beer cooler behind the counter since the light is bright. Other then that this is the best place I have been to in the mission ans Noe Valley area.the two places I used to go to on 24 and Castro had rude people and or employees not not this place bravo Rock Bar.
Rocks and a chill vibe, pool table and booth seating, surprisingly loud. Right across the street from Front Porch, you can grab a drink while waiting. Had my first taste of Aecht bacon beer here...and now I have an insatiable craving for pancakes.

The bathroom was dirty. The bartender was great! They have a pool table.
Great, original dive bar with friendly staff. Not quite since bar prices though. Good spot for a nearby pint.

I really wanted to like this place because it’s so close to my apartment. First visit, it was a Saturday night and the boyfriend and I were sat at the bar and it took 10 minutes to get an order in while the bartender was chatting with someone the whole time. The place wasn’t that busy and it was easy to find a seat. Excusable, but not the best experience. Second visit, it was a weekday around 6pm. I wanted to try the place again with some coworkers because of the drink special advertised on their website. There were at least two staff members and only four customers inside. We weren’t allowed in until we showed proof of vaccination. Great, we pulled up our QR codes and had our IDs in hand and had to wait outside for 5 minutes until someone could verify. It was awkward having to constantly tap your phone screen because it kept dimming due to inactivity. Another 5 minutes of waiting before we could order. We told the bartender “so we hear you have some discounted old fashioneds for happy hour” and she confirmed and made the 3 cocktails. The total came out to $40. Is she just making numbers up? Is there a menu that says they’re normally priced $13.33? I kindly let her know that the price listed on their website is $6 Monday through Friday 4-7pm. She had no interest in checking the website and ran across the street to get more info. When the bartender came back, she said those were precovid prices and they couldn’t afford that now. Ok, fair enough, a lot of businesses have been struggling. She then offered to bring the price down to $12 a drink and said “that’s a good deal, right?”. So I guess they were making their prices up. Overall, both experiences were just really strange and I have no interest in going back. TL;DR Be prepared to wait a long time while bartenders are chatting and for the bar to not honor their advertised price. There are so many better bars in the area, this one is not worth your time or money.

The overall vibe of this place felt a bit weird. The bartender charged me 25 dollars for 2 small cans of modelos which is insane.
I used to come to Rock Bar all the time before the shutdowns and it was my favorite bar. I really like the lighting, drinks, music, photo booth, and that I could get food at the front porch before hand. I went in last night, my third time post lockdowns and reopening and it has gone downhill a lot, mostly in regards to service. I was excited to be able to come back to this bar that I loved that took a while to open back up and was happy it survived the long closures. My boyfriend and I ordered a drink with a gentleman and didn't have much problem. We went to the photo booth and came back to the shorter female bartender, I think her name is Jess, and were completely ignored. I looked her direction and gave her a smile so she would know we were looking for a second drink, and she yelled, "IDs and Vaccination cards" from across the bar and never came over to check them and ignored us for another 5-10 minutes, just moving cups around and doing dishes, refusing to look at us. We had IDs and Vaccination cards ready to be looked at, which she never actually came to see. No one had checked them that night since we had come in. For whatever reason she decided she didn't want to serve us. I don't ever come to a bar with a bad attitude or looking for trouble. I was nice to all staff and patrons, actually had very minimal interaction with anyone at this point besides my boyfriend who had just gotten there with me. It really sucks to go to a place you love and have the people who work there treat you terribly for no reason at all. We weren't drunk. This was our second drink of the night. We weren't rowdy and didn't even speak to anyone to cause any problems that would have warranted this treatment. It's honestly very disappointing. I come with a good attitude and just want to enjoy my night and have it ruined by someone who decided they didn't want us to for reasons that are beyond me. I drive across town to come to this bar because I like it there, but I don't think I will be anymore.
