Sushi Sheng

This is a nice neighborhood sushi shop serving very fresh sushi and sashimi that is literally a work of art. The venue is nothing fancy, but gives a homey, local, neighborhood feel why don't you enjoy the artistically plated Japanese delicacy. Best thing is that is very reasonably priced.

Phenomenal nigiri 🍣. Exceptional in freshness and flavor. Left me feeling very energized. My girlfriend got the two piece bento box with agedashi tofu and saba; it came with rice, miso soup and a small salad that was crispy but she said the dressing could be better. The bento was hot and fresh. We also got the sesame chicken, battered in tempura with a slight sesame glaze… crunchy and fresh. I’m already dreaming of returning to eat more of that nigiri. Great service! Cozy ambiance with cool aesthetic details.

no frills sushi spot that is not too busy on a week-any-day you crave sushi. the fish was fresh, large selection and good portions (rice on heavier side though for nigiri). also random, but probably one of the best agedashi tofu’s i’ve had in a while. i’ll be back!

We loved this place! Hard to flag down a server to get a table, but the food comes quickly! Mid-tier sushi, but very good service, and delicious and fresh enough! Definitely nice to get ice cream with a review as well :) Romeo and Juliet roll is a must-have if you like scallop.

My experience was overall above average! It was a packed house, which tellls me it was really worth the wait. We got seated after waiting for another party to leave. The waitress and hostess were so very nice! We ordered so much food and the owner was so courteous about getting all of our orders in. Overall, a great experience with nice people and delicious food!!!!

Their curry is solid! Good portions & consistently tasty. Tried their uni & toro today… not disappointed. 😄 happy tastebuds 👍. Also had their fresh oysters 💪💯. Service is always on point. This is my new go to neighborhood spot for Japanese food.

It's fairly new and have great vibe. The service is good. The portion is generous. Fish is so fresh and being presented beautifully. 物超所值，CP值超高。 We randomly walked in, and they give us the best seat that I can watch the windows and watch a game from the TV. Recommended dine in, it did feels very different. For the price I pay, I think it's above the value. Glad we have a new restaurant opened in West Portal. This is a new West Portal gem.

Restaurant was accommodating in seating our large party. Sushi tasted very fresh. Was satisfied with all the different rolls we ordered. Would recommend.

Excellent new sushi spot in west portal. The fish was extremely fresh and deliciously prepared (try the Romeo and Juliet!). Presentation was simple and elegant. The interior is very cute and quiet and booths are private. Service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable (in and out in 30 minutes). We loved everything we ordered and will be making it a regular. Can’t wait to come back

The tonkatsu ramen was fine, but not our favorite – the chashu was nicely grilled and the egg was very good, but the noodles were a little bland and slightly overcooked.

We went to try the sushi because of the good reviews. Sadly, I don't think agree with those reviews. The quality of the fish is just average, portions size run small, rolls are no surprise. Paying this price, I'd expect a bit more than those from wholefoods. Unlikely I'll go back again.

Sushi rolls had soggy rice. When I asked the server, she said maybe the chef added too much vinegar. I said no, that’s not it. The rice was just way too wet. The rice that was served with the bento lunch was cooked correctly. But every sushi roll had soggy rice. The oysters on the half shell were delicious. The sushi roll also had 2 pieces of fish scale. I have eaten here many times, but this time the quality had gone down considerably.
