Really good food the Mariscada Caliente is excellent, the super michellada soo good, la barbacoa de Borrego, got barbecue that is so taste, come and enjoy a really recommend

went to their other new location on Monterey Rd San jose last time, liked it, so this time came to their newly renovated restaurant on King rd @tropicana plaza. Nicely decorated and a Huge bar area! good for girls night out. both locations have live banda, events. Food is always fresh, exceptional seafood quality, BIG portions, they are generous! caldo de 7 mares is amazing. will definitely come back with friends.

This is a small place with really authentic Mexican food, one of my friends recommended this place to us, and she was absolutely right, the food here is superb. It gets crowded so be prepared to wait, but you will love it. Now this place is in my top list for Mexican food.

You really should try this place one time, and see if you like it. If not, you have all of San jose to explore or even dessert locations.

This may be the joint with the best carne asada in San Jose, the quality of the meat is way up there, thin cut, and grilled. I have tried another places and their meat quality is poor, just gives your mandibles a good work out trying to eat it. Most of the time La Ceiba is busy, and the waitresses do a great job taking care of the customers. Also tried the Pescado Frito, just fresh and delicious. Their sauces are on the mellow side , but if extra fire is needed they will accommodate you. Their prices(about the same or lower than other joints in the area), dish presentation, good service, and the value that goes in every dish , makes La Ceiba a go to place.

Hit or miss Mexican food. Their specialty is getting people hooked their drinks. Service is stellar with a good variety of foods. I would recommend a carne asada platter.

Atmosphere: No A/C, so it was uncomfortably hot. This wrecked my appetite. Plenty of ice water tho. Bacon wrapped shrimp were very good. Refried beans were just a bit runny for me, but flavor was on point. Chile's were too hot for me but they were plentiful! Waitress' was attentive, but thier English was not the best. But then again this is a Mexican restaurant. Big Parking lot, but a bit crowded.

I want to be nice, honest and detailed about my experience in this restaurant. Came past thursday, asked for Alambre-plate, a sizzling skillet served with Pastor meat, Asada, and/or shrimp. I asked for the combination as advertised on the menú for the $14.99 plate. One meat is $11.99, two meat $12.99. Waited 3 minutes. Waitress came back and said my plate asked has only 2 combination, not 3 as advertised, when I asked for the 3 combination. I was patient, and hungry as visiting for the first time. Okay, bring me the asada, and pastor plate, with a Coke. Man, I was served the skillet with the asada not asada, just like quickly passed on the plancha, covered in melted cheese, and plenty of onion. Instead of pastor-meat they added a few chunks of bacon! The chips-salsa tasted funky. I don't like starting arguing, since I wanted to have a good time at the karaoke show, and visiting for first time due to recommendation. As I said, never arguing at a place to eat. My Google review will always be honest, and proportional as the service a place is commited to offer.

Unforgettable music and food! Highly recommend some hearing protection and caution around the shrimp. Very authentic experience, I don't want to be too harsh. Though I did wake up with tinnitus and diarrhea...

I had an incident here. There was a hair in my food! The waitress was really nice but this place needs some definite cleaning!!

HORRIBLE THE WORST EVER. This review is mainly about the Molcajete de Mariscos. Ordered a seafood dish that comes with a variety of seafood. Now I understand cooking seafood can be a bit of challenge but when every single piece of seafood (shrimp, crab legs, mussels and fish) taste overly salty and have a rubber texture and somehow manage to still taste bland you got a problem. I sent the meal back right away and when the server asked why I told her exactly what was wrong. She asked me if I wanted a replacement and I said no. Nevertheless I was still charged for it. I guess they also don't believe in cleaning the restrooms or letting their customers know that they only take cash. Drinks are overpriced and food is salty yet still bland. I can go on and on but rather not. Horrible stay away!!!!

Be careful check your receipt. I was charged an extra dollar and I asked why I was getting charged an extra dollar the cashier lady got an attitude and said to me " is not my fault ok is the cashier machine". I asked her so if I want my money back who do I ask the machine? And she said yes. And I asked her where is her boss she answered" he is not here come back and claim your dollar when he is here". I recommend you to ask and check your receipt other wise they will charge you extra and blame the cashier machine. I didnt want to make a big deal but the way the cashier handle my question was like she was annoyed that I was questioning why I'm overpaying. I called back to get her name and the person that answered the phone said they can not give me that information. Be careful I know is was only one dollar but why they get mad at you for asking a simple question.

First of all they where being really rude, the food its way over priced, the bathrooms where extremely dirty and the doors weren’t working. I was being charged 5 dollars for a “Mexican soda” when I had ordered a simple can or Diet Coke , when I tried to ask why they where really rude about it

Was with my wife and 2 kids. Food took forever to get to the table. The shrimp had a funky taste. Was going to ask for a different dish but the waitress never came back. Had to eat some of my husband’s food. Waitress finally came back and we asked for To go box and then she disappeared again. Would think asking for To go box means we want to leave. Had to get up to ask for check and to pay so we can leave. Price of food not worth it.

Everything tasted bland, to the point where I couldn’t really tell what I was eating after a few bites.
