I come here with my Persian husband and his family for lunch or dinner for special occasions, most recently the other day. While we have always enjoyed the food, yesterday it was absolutely exceptional and the service was top notch as well! My favorite dishes we tried were the eggplant appetizer, hummus appetizer, yogurt cucumber appetizer and the salmon kabobs. My toddler especially enjoyed the salmon, saffron rice, salad and hummus. We also ordered the chicken kabob, beef kabob and much more. Delicious and such an enjoyable restaurant experience. My only tip would be to ask for the chicken kabob to be a bit less thoroughly cooked as it is quite tough/well done when cooked as ordered straight off the menu. I have seen this at many other Persian restaurants too so this is probably the style/way it is supposed to be cooked? (I am not Persian myself, so I do not know) but the grilled tomatoes on the kabob dishes were quite burned/charred/blackened... not my style and I worry about consuming that char so I always remove it but this may just be a typical way to prepare tomato at Persian restaurants. Anyway, we had a fabulous time, fabulous and friendly service and delicious food! It was the best and most flavorful food experience I ever remember having at Ziba to date, and I have been coming there since 2015... the food has improved over time for sure/is at its best now. Thank you Ziba for the wonderful experience and tastes.
1st time here and we will be back! Service was kind and professional. Koobideh and salmon were super moist and the tomato and veggies were cooked perfectly. Our new favorite Persian restaurant. So glad it is close to home!
Delicious food, our family enjoyed the rice and kabobs (chicken and beef). I also highly recommend the lamb shanks - meet is tender and falls off the bone easily! Staff was great and accommodating and owner stopped by afterwards to see how everything was.
This place is awesome! I've been like 6-7 times and it's always been consistently great. The eggplant appetizer is to die for. I don't particularly like eggplant but I've had it 3 times so far, always delicious. Ali has been the owner / manager as long as I can remember. The same staff. Goes to show it's a good place to work. Great food as I said before, and a ton of it! I always get a to go carton. Lots of parking (free). Rarely have wait to get a table. Can't get there? Door dash or Uber eats.
Wasn’t planning on coming here, but decided Persian food sounded good- this place is absolutely amazing! Their appetizers are delicious and profound in flavor, the Mosto Khiar was incredible, light but full of flavor. Their main dishes are simple, yet flavorful. The meats are well seasoned, moist, and perfectly cooked, and their salad is simple yet fresh. The tea is great as well, service is excellent, overall a great experience. Delicious!
It was mine and my mom's first time eating at Zibas. And I must say, we will definitely be returning. Place looked clean and elegant (we loved the decor), Customer service was on point, and food tasted fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend
Have been coming to this place for over a decade now. They have the best chicken koobideh. Whenever I am in that area, I do a take out from here. Very kind folks and delicious food which hasn't changed in these years. Also love the onion, bread and butter with mint that comes as a starter. Makes my meals extra special
Our large group loved the food, including a friend from Iran. Thank you Ziba for the wonderful meal!
Me and my six friends had dinner here last night and I was superbly pleased with the food& service. I will be returning for some more of this delicious food very very soon.
As the husband of a picky Persian who moved to nearby Almaden, I immediately heard how we had moved away from all the good Persian restaurants. Luckily for me, I found Ziba (means ‘beautiful’) and my wife really enjoyed our visit there. It’s a cozy but classy restaurant with good food and their takeout is consistently timely and delicious.
Absolutely love the food, staff, and ambiance at Ziba Persian Restaurant. It is my favorite koobideh and I am always craving it! Thank you to this sweet family business for your delicious food and amazing service!
Best Persian food in the city! 5 Stars! An authentic Persian place and cuisine. Food was soooooooo good and tasty. the Kebabs are to die for. The ingredients were so fresh and the meat was so juicy. Loved the professionalism & friendliness of the staff. Great service and Comfortable seating. Quiet place, clean. I am going to go to Ziba again and again and again. Good for groups and families.
Great location for tasty persian food. Nice place to relax, people watch, eat good, etc. Had a friend come into town and asked me to take him here again. It has a great interior. Menu is like a cafe in Indianapolis I loved.
The chicken kabobs are flavorful and melt-in-your mouth tender. Saturday's lamb shanks are delicious. The portions are large and the service is friendly and prompt. This is one of our family's favorites.
A favorite spot for delicious Persian food. I like it here, excellent food & service. The staff was very welcoming and sociable. The bill was decent. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Atlanta.
An absolute lifesaver and a true gem for quality Persian food. We placed a to-go order on very, very short notice, and that too late in the day, and yet the team at Ziba handled it flawlessly. Not only was the order ready on time, but the food was exceptionally tasty, incredibly fresh, and prepared to absolute perfection which is not easy to pull off for a rushed takeaway order. We ordered Koobideh for a small family gathering, and it was just perfect. The koobideh was cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, juicy, and quite literally melted in our mouths. Every bite tasted fresh, well-balanced, and made with care, as if it were prepared for a dine-in experience rather than a late to-go order. The hosts deserve a special mention for their absolute 5-star hospitality. Accommodating a last-minute request with such professionalism and warmth says a lot about this place. Pair that with 10-star quality food, and you’ve got a restaurant that truly stands out. Ziba Persian Restaurant is reliable, consistent, and clearly takes pride in what they serve. Highly recommended for gatherings, last-minute plans, or anytime you want truly authentic, high-quality Persian food. We’ll definitely be ordering again.
We are pretty picky about our Persian food and had never eaten here. We came with a friend that had been and said it had been renovated and is under newer management since the pandemic. The ambiance was nice, clean, and chic and the kabob was superb! Our food was delicious and our server was very accommodating. We will definitely be returning and telling others!
Very delicious Persian dishes , they have Stamboli Polo, Lamb Shanks, and Tah-Cheen Friday Saturday and Sunday, as well as all the kabab dishes . The best lamb shank I had, must try, for every Saturday, call a head , to reserve it for you , since it is very fresh and lots of demand.
This place is amazing! As soon as you walk in you can tell how clean & chic they are. I was excited to hear the selection of music they were playing (a mix of modern and classic iranian). Everything our table ordered was incredible; this is coming from someone who frequents persian restaurants. The presentation was immaculate and everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
Very good food and nice atmosphere. The staff is so helpful and they get in touch with you every few minutes to make sure that your needs are met. I ordered the ghorma bedmjan which was great and delicious. The ghorma sabzi is so delicious and full of the natural herbal taste. This restaurant is great!
Came here with my family for lunch. It was very quiet and also a decent price. They got very nice food and coffee. The personnel was very nice and really caring about clients. I and my family enjoyed very good quality food. Definitely coming back.
Absolutely delicious Persian food, fresh, plentiful, flavorful. Friendly service. Nice clean environment.
Definitely among the best places to try Persian food in the Bay Area. The service and attention to details is wonderful.
Great place to dine. Authentic great food and wonderful staff.

Definitely among the best places to try Persian food in the Bay Area. The service and attention to details is wonderful.
Nice atmosphere, very clean. Order lunch. Portion size large. Wasn't expecting so much food. Tasted good.
It was a slow Saturday, we were only the second table in the restaurant. The staff was courteous and helped to pick a meal from the menu. The jojeh and kobedeh were tasty!
Great menu options. I have been to a number of Persian restaurants, but this place has a great variety of entrees that I don't remember seeing in other restaurants. My husband has the koobideh combo, which was ground beef tenderloin and ground chicken breast, while I tried the fesenjoon, which was a walnut, pomegranate, chicken stew. It was delicious. I am definitely coming back to try other dishes on the menu. I noticed several to go orders while we ate inside the restaurant. Service was excellent.
The food was so tasty! Everyone had different plates and they all had rave reviews. I will definitely be back.

We ordered the ground beef skewers and the chicken breast plus ground beef skewers. These came with white rice and a grilled tomato. We visit this restaurant fairly often and we're never disappointed. The starter bread, mint leaves, cut raw onion and butter cube is a great munch until food arrives. The grilled meat is freshly done and the rice is long, tender and cooked just right. I recommend this nice, cozy place and its great food, get the hot tea and add some sugar cubes...I will definitely visit again.
For what it is, a low key Persian restaurant in a strip mall, it's surprisingly good. The service was very friendly. Maybe a little too much so. We were asked about 6 times if we wanted anything else. But overall a very pleasant surprise because the food was great. The ambiance is fine. Not sure why they close at 7:30 that's just way too early
The quality of the food is really good. Especially the koobideh and their chicken kabob. We tried their Baghali polo as well and we liked it. The only minor point that would be great if they care of is the kind of humid smell that exists sometimes over there. That's why we most the time take the food out.
This has to be the cleanest restaurant I've ever seen. This was my first visit here but won't be the last. We had a very early dinner reservation and were likely the 1st dinner customers of the evening. When we entered everyone was cleaning something and its immaculate. The restaurant is located in a strip mall that is a bit tired. The inside of the restaurant is nice, VERY clean but not elegant. The food was fresh and tasty. The portion sizes are big, plenty to bring home afterward. We had both beef and chicken Kabobs as well as Falafel. I'm really curious about their Fesenjoon, sauteed walnuts, pomegranate sauce with chicken. Its sounds amazing and I intend to try it during the next visit. Enjoy!
The owner was nice. She introduced herself and took our order. My sister, her husband and my nephew had eaten there under the previous owner like 6 years ago and since we were in the area, they wanted us to try it. My mom and I had never eaten "Persian" food. Prices ranged from 15 to 30 from what I'd say was good sized plates. Decor was nice. Restaurant was empty. Male waiter was on top of checking on us and refilling our waters. We got a complimentary "starter dish" with mint leaves, butter pats, soft cheese and like half an onion...all to spread on thin tortilla (lavash?) The waiter explained how to eat it. We ordered our plates. Everyone liked the plates ... I am not sure what the dish names were but 3 dishes were ground beef and chicken skewers... my mom got chicken breast skewer all dishes they got came over balsmatti rice. I got a wrap filled with ground beef skewer shaped thing, diced cucumber and tomato. With some really good hot special sauce on the side. After I got the meat really well done... it was a really tasty dish full of freshness. I am very picky but this place made me happy with their attentiveness. Hopefully we visit again .
We had a spontaneous decision to have Persian food. We found Ziba to be in our travel path. The restaurant is cute, clean and elegant. We were greeted by the hostess and quickly seated. The menu was brought very quickly. We asked for Kotlet and Tahdeeg. the drinks, herbs with butter, feta cheese came quickly. After a few, one of our appetizers (tahdeeg) was served. We found it stale and tooth breaking crunchy. I have had tahdeeg many times but this was not good. Although the Gheymeh on top of it was tasty. We never got the kotlet. The portions served were huge. I ordered combo kobideh while my wife ordered a chicken wrap. Both main dishes were excellent. I just wished they didn’t serve the tahdeeg that was stale or they could have got five stars.
Pros: clean and nice indoor, fresh food, food (both kabobs and stews) tasted good, attentive staff, good size portions Cons: outdoor seating was limited and was obviously not getting much love!, rice didn't smell good! Hard and stale tah-dig. Catering price is higher than other persian places in the area. the Delivery service was not as complete as dine-in: no herbs, no onion.

The Fesenjoon had a unique flavor and color that was new to me. It only came with two small pieces of chicken, which was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, though the lighting was quite dim and could be improved.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Filet Kebab (Kebab Barg), Kebab Sultani, Kubideh, and (chicken kebab) Jujeh Kebab. While the Jujeh Kebab was the highlight of our meal. healthy, and flavorful, the other dishes were not quite up to our expectations. The filet kebabs were a bit tough and not as tender as we would have liked, and the Kubideh, though still enjoyable, was a little dry. Additionally, we were a bit disappointed with the rice, as it didn’t quite meet the standard we expected from traditional Persian rice. That being said, the overall experience was still pleasant. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the ambience was decent, providing a comfortable atmosphere.

We have been frequent diners (via takeout) ever since we’ve moved to the area five years ago. But something changed within the last few months where they have not been as attentive nor the friendly neighborhood restaurant. We wanted to order Ziba for Father’s Day dinner so I attempted to place a phone order. It went straight to voicemail, which I thought I had the wrong number. When I called again, it went to voicemail again. Since we live in the area, I drove over to place a takeout order. As soon as I walked in, the owner(?) and I looked at each other but she was socializing with a diner at a table so I was not immediately acknowledged, which is fine and understandable as owners and wait staff often times greet and meet diners. I stood there at the front awkwardly waiting for someone to say hi or acknowledge me for a couple minutes. Finally, the owner lady asked what she could do for me and I asked if I could do a takeout order. Her first response: “it’s going to be over an hour.” I said, “oh, okay, I tried calling in but your phone number didn’t work.” Her reply: “it works just fine.” Me: “oh, I tried a couple times and I think it went straight to voicemail.” The owner: “yes, I know because we are very busy.” Me: I look around at more than half the restaurant with empty tables. The kicker was that one of the patrons at the table she was socializing at laughed. So at that point I walked out. It’s unfortunate because we really enjoyed Ziba for years, but this latest interaction was the last for us. Even the time before when we came in when the phone didn’t work, another person promptly took our order with no issue, and thanked us for coming in. This person on the other hand was super rude, and I will no longer spend my hard earned money at this restaurant. We all have choices, and I choose not to dine here ever again.
The food was good but however I do have a complaint. My boyfriend and I went in there for lunch I ordered the combo plate comes with chicken and beef for 30 something my boyfriend wants JUST chicken to he tells the lady she says oh if you just want chicken order this plate its only chicken and its cheaper! We thought wow how nice of her to save us some money. We get the bill and she charged us his chicken plate plus added on another $13 chicken kebab. We explained to her we didnt want an EXTRA one just only chicken. No beef. So we ended up paying extra for no reason. We were shocked at the fact that she had no interest in fixing it even though we brought it to her attention. Very tacky behavior. I did not order dessert, did not leave a tip and will not return. We spent over $75 for 2 plates of food. Ridiculous.
The lady is rude. There are many flies. And place smells.
So many problems with this restaurant. Would give negative stars if there is such option. We ordered a 5 person meal with a near $100 bill. A $ 9 starter did not get packed in. A $10 dish came burnt (not dry, blacken burnt like charcoal), and the portion was pathetic. A $10 vege egg pie with no fancy ingredients is smaller than my palm? A $2.5 BBQ side order also came burnt. The entire order was late for 30min from restaurant preparation, despite we put in the order the day before. The " best part" was the customer service. We called, tried to understand what went wrong, and if can recover.. The lady picked up call treated us as if this is the first time we eat persian food, and the food were supported to be burnt, blacken and non ate able. ( We are half persian household, and eat / order yummy persian food all the time! ). Last , the lady said everything is on us to deal with the delivery service and there is zero effort can be done on her part to correct all the wrongs made by restaurant...... We have pictures taken and messages if anybody is interested. NEVER ZIBA again!
Food used to be excellent, but with the new owners the quality has dropped significantly. Still, very good value for Persian food. Reason for the 1 star is that the owners endorse animal torture - since they serve halal meat. If the meat weren't halal, I'd still say it's a solid 4 star place. But can't endorse a place in good conscience that treats animals poorly.
One star for no zero star. I ordered shish kabobs well done. It came burned and charred from the outside and bloody red from the inside. The waitress was rude when I told her that the food was undercooked. The shish kabob was hard to chew. I got sick from the food a year ago. However I decided to give this restaurant another shot. The rice serving is abundant but not the main dish. The quality for the price is very poor. I can get a better quality meat cut from a discount store. My advice is not done there. It is a waste of time, money, and bad service.
I previously placed a review because the food was good but we went on an off day. So for father's day we went and they literally have 15 to 20 tables. Although 1/2 the place was empty, they had the tables partitioned off and reserved. We asked they lady why can't we just sit at the table and her response was that these are reserved but we'll seat you as soon as these customers finish packing and leave. We said, your reserved customers are not here, how about we sit here and when that table leaves you can give that to them. Rudely she replied, it's father's day you should have reserved. Now my issue here is the tone of voice and service. As a small restaurant you cannot afford stupidity. The rule of sales is to turn tables. What idiot would save an empty table and lose customers? If you knew you would have a table ready in a few minutes, why would you make people wait? We left and I don't think we'll ever be back. Seems like their priorities are not in the service. That was a $150 tab that they lost.
We have purchased food here several times during the last 5 years. I must say that the quality of their food has declined! On my last visit I purchased their Persian salad to go with our food and the salad had a moldy taste. We did call them and notified them and the lady who answered the phone was very indifferent and just said “oh Sorry “ Therefore I am not going there anymore!
Respond to the owner: Thank you for your response, but none of your assumptions change the facts of what happened. My review is accurate, and the order was in fact placed with Ziba Restaurant — there is no confusion with another business. Whether the order was placed a la carte or as meals is irrelevant to the main issue: 11 skewers of kabob were ordered and the order arrived with only half of one tomato. You can repeat your policies, but the reality is that what we received did not match what was paid for. A la carte or not, no legitimate Persian restaurant sends out $300 worth of kabob with half of one tomato. And yes, we were charged for a full skewer of tomato, but received half. That is the entire point. As for the complimentary sides you claim to “always” provide — they were not included. Instead of acknowledging that something clearly went wrong, your response tries to discredit the customer by implying confusion or inaccuracy. That’s disappointing and unprofessional. You also mentioned that we “should have called.” Respectfully, customers shouldn’t have to chase a restaurant to receive basic items that should have been in the order to begin with. The responsibility is on the business to fulfill what was paid for, not on the customer to double-check the restaurant’s work. Your attempt to shift the blame, instead of simply acknowledging an error, says more about your customer service than anything in my review. Thank you for confirming that looking elsewhere is indeed the best choice moving forward. Original Review: Ordered takeout for 11 skewers of kabab with rice and was shocked to find the order came with only ONE half of a tomato and none of the standard Persian sides — on a $300+ order. We even paid for a full skewer of tomato! So basically, we were charged $5 for half a tomato. This is extremely disappointing. It’s unacceptable to cut corners like this and disrespect customers who are paying premium prices. If this is how they treat people, I honestly don’t see how the business can expect customers to return. I won’t ….
I placed a 97$ order on DoorDash from this place. Once my food arrived the kabob was raw inside. I contacted the restaurant I let them know that my food was underdone and the guy on the phone said next time "you should ask for it well done". I shouldn't have to ask for my food to be well done if it was cooked all the way through. He then said needs to check something and put me on a 21 minute hold, after the 21 minute hold a manger got on the phone asked what was going on, once I told her that the food was raw she said "oh" idk how that happened, and said if I live close by and want to go pick 1 skewer of kabob that was under done. If I wanted to go pick up the food then I wouldn't of DoorDashed it in the first place. It would cost me more to drive all the way there to go pick up the 1 skewer. She didn't even offer to replace what I had ordered. She also let me know that she couldn't refund me my money because it was ordered through DoorDash. Lesson learned. Do not order from here.

She didn't even offer to replace what I had ordered. She also let me know that she couldn't refund me my money because it was ordered through DoorDash. Lesson learned. Do not order from here.
I was in the area and noticed this place had some authentic Persian dishes, which really caught my eye. Since I couldn’t find them on DoorDash or Uber Eats, I thought I’d stop by and grab some takeout. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t the warmest. I didn’t feel very welcomed when I walked in, which made things a bit awkward. The lady who welcomes guests wasn't happy at all that I was there. I ordered the Zereshk Polo, but it turned out a bit dry, both the rice and the chicken, and it didn’t come with any sauce! I really wanted to like this place, but I'm not coming back.
