Gorgeous rooftop restaurant! We got there during happy hour and our server recommended our drinks, we were not disappointed! Between two people we ordered from the tasting menu and got to try the following: First Course - Adobo Pork Ribs & Wagyu Dumplings Main Course - Fried Chicken Karaage & Braised Short Rib Dessert - Croissant Waffle & Banana Fritters Fantastic service and incredible food! We had the opportunity to thank the chef in person for the amazing meal. Highly recommend and will have to make the drive out again :)

Stopped by to see how this new place was getting good reviews. They absolutely deserve the accolades. Amazing food, everyone in the party was more than pleased across the entirety of the menu, small plates, entrees and even drinks were enjoyed. Outside of the food the atmosphere and view were great and the staff was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Going to have to make another trip back soon. Edit: Had to go back a second time, this time for brunch. Amazing menu offerings and everything came out perfect. Much more I need to try out on the menu, food and drinks.

I had the Electric Avenue made with fresh strawberries and my husband had the guava margarita. The honey walnut shrimp and tom yum soup were amazing. The steak tips were so tender. Can’t wait to go back and try more things.

Fabulous Asian fusion. Everything done just right, even fries are amazing. We ordered Miso Cod, Prime Steak Tips, and Ahi Sashimi.

We had an absolutely incredible experience hosting an event at Rosewood Social. The food was phenomenal, the service was next level, and the venue itself was beautiful. From the amazing staff to the wonderful owners, every single person went above and beyond. The Prime steak skewers were outstanding, lobster spring rolls and adobo pork ribs were insanely delicious, wagyu dumplings were truly to die for and the bang bang and honey walnut shrimp were absolutely massive and a total crowd favorite. Our guests were blown away and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. The food and service were so impressive that we can’t wait to come back for dinner. No question we’ll be hosting our next event here, too. 11/10… Highly recommend Rosewood Social!

I came here with my wife and daughter for our 10 year anniversary dinner and sat outside. We were at a corner in a 2 person table and our daughter was in the corner which suited us just fine. We ordered from our attentive waiter Andrew and the food came out pretty quickly. Everything we ate was delicious and we will definitely be back.

Absolutely one of the top restaurants in San Juan Capistrano! We first heard about this place from our neighbor, and after all the rave reviews, we just had to see what the buzz was about. Honestly, I’m so glad we decided to try it! Every single dish we ordered was just outstanding—delicious flavors and beautifully presented. The staff made us feel so welcome, and the service was attentive and friendly from start to finish. We can’t wait to come back and try even more from their menu!

This is what you get when you take a modern spin on Thai cuisine. Rosewood Social just opened in San Juan Capistrano and we were here to try all their popular dishes and they were SO GOOD. First off, the restaurant itself is stunning. I’m such a big fan of the indoor-outdoor dining on the second floor, overlooking the actual mission! The chefs do such a great job at incorporating Asian elements into these beautiful dishes. Some of my favorites are the Honey walnut shrimp with GIGANTIC prawns and Chilean sea bass with Thai chili dipping sauce. The desserts exceeded ALL my expectations. I fell in love with their fresh Banana fritters, and really enjoyed trying their take on a Croissant waffle. I would definitely recommend this unique restaurant, perfect for date night or if you wanted to try something new. Thanks for reading! ^-^

From the mixed drinks to the appetizer to the mains, from beginning to end, a great meal! We came here to celebrate our anniversary on a Sunday night and enjoyed the experience. The chef has done a great job with some of the Asian fusion flavors. The Jumbo Prawn Tandoori had an excellent pepper sauce with a touch of sweetness and full of flavor. The New York Strip steak was well seasoned. To top it off, the service was excellent. We will be back!

We dined here on a Thursday evening and were most impressed from the time we entered. Greeted by one of the owners Patrick and his team, we were welcomed and the drinks and menu explained right away. An excellent cocktail menu gave us pause, with so many nice options to choose, and no choice disappointed. The Thai inspired menu allows either shared plates or individual choices and was fresh, flavourful and beautifully plated for presentation. Head chef and co-owner John came out to introduce himself and check on our choices. A new star in San Juan and certainly one we’ll return to.

Rosewood social exceeded my expectations! Between the drinks, food and views you cannot go wrong! As a gluten free gal it's hard to find a restaurant with so much variety that is gluten free, and this menu has it all. The steak tips were delicious with a nice kick to it and the lobster rolls are massive! Such a great new addition to San Juan! Can’t wait to go back!

Rosewood Social is amazing! The food is out of this world good!! We loved the Steak Tips, Tom Yum Soup, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The staff was so warm and accommodating the entire time. You can tell they really enjoy taking care of their guests! I had the Electric Avenue cocktail and it was so refreshing with the fresh strawberry mixed in! We will definitely be back and can’t wait to bring our entire family next time. We were so excited for this rooftop restaurant to finally open! Located in the downtown area of San Juan Capistrano, this is the go to restaurant for a beautiful brunch on the patio or fun date night out. We tried the bang bang burger, hash browns and delicious cocktails. If you are in the area, highly recommend for brunch or dinner. The dinner menu looked amazing! This would be a fun spot for birthday dinner or special occasion. Can't wait to go back for dinner soon. Had the company Christmas Party here in a semi-open area of the restaurant. No photos this review because of all the mingling. [food] Didn't do much with the opening course as the items selected contained shellfish, but they looked very well prepared and smelled good. Also a Spring Roll was on offer, nice presentation, but with the rest of the shellfish heavy starters, decided to pass as wasn't sure on their contents. Main course: Caesar Salad - Yum. Just the right amount of dressing tossed on the lettuce, a great start to the plate. Went back for seconds. Steamed Greens - Was the pairing to the Sea Bass which I skipped, but the flavor as a standalone had a nice garlic flavor and properly steamed texture. Coconut Curry - Excellent flavor with not too much heat, just a mild spice profile. Good on its own, recommend pairing with the Fried Rice to complete the flavor profile and really make it yum. Short Rib - Tender, tasty, and the item I most craved. The sauce really adds to the savoryness of the dish. As I was leaving gave a Short Rib = 🔥 to the Chef. [service] Exceptional staff attended to all guests very promptly and even took the time to assure me there would be something non-seafood on the buffet line after the starters. [will i go back?] Definitely will be bringing family back and getting some photos to share for a follow-up review.

He’s Filipino so bringing Asian Twist to Seafood & Meat👏🏼 All the dishes we got were DELICIOUS! Such an amazing surprise with the Freshness & Quality seafood & Perfect Combination of Flavors👏🏼 Patrick’s first restaurant and only 1.5 years old in the heart of San Juan Capristrano. All the stars aligned with the perfect location with outdoor patio & fireplace/couches and indoor on the main street. I consider myself a foodie who travels the country on business enjoying the finest of restaurants. I live in Las Vegas a city that has some of the best Chefs in the world on many corners. I was so surprised to find Rosewood Social to be on of those restaurants to be on the level with the best I have ever enjoyed. The food is simple yet presents incredibly memorable taste components of the highest quality ingredients. The Chef knows the art of flavor and beautiful presentation. Service was Crisp, friendly, knowledgeable and perfectly appropriate to the Rosewood concept and design. The cocktails were as good as any found in any major dining city. I highly recommend the guava margarita. Our group loved every dish served. We kept thinking this is amazing that one course after another was as great as the previous. The energetic vibe created by a well trained staff makes this restaurant one that everyone should experience. The location on the second floor provides a direct view of the famous mission that is the best. Make plans to visit Rosewood Social because it will become a favorite. It won't be long before getting a table at this restaurant will be near impossible.

We’ve been to Rosewood Social twice now, and that alone says a lot. Coming from Bangkok, where atmosphere, food, and service are genuinely top-tier, we’re usually pretty hard to impress—but this place absolutely delivers. The atmosphere is dialed in, the food is outstanding, and the cocktails are consistently on point. The menu focuses on smaller dishes, but every plate is packed with balanced, well-thought-out flavors—nothing feels overdone or lazy. Huge shoutout to our server Jordan. His timing and awareness were perfect—present when needed, never intrusive. After COVID, genuine and natural service like that is refreshing and rare. It felt like real hospitality, not a script. To top it off, the pricing somehow still leaves you feeling like you got great value for the experience. Easily one of our favorite spots in San Diego. We’ll definitely be back.

Highly recommend the Wagyu Dumplings. Filet mignon came with real wasabi which elevated it to the next level. Ended with the croissant waffle dessert which was truly excellent. Great service with a light, warm atmosphere overlooking the mission. Highly recommend.

We booked Rosewood Social for a large group alumni event—their team was highly professional, responsive, and accommodating. They had multiple options we could choose from in terms of configurations and menus—all at affordable prices. The atmosphere is really special. Thanks to Courtney and Amanda in the Events team and the owner for making this night special. Well crafted menu and drinks—wagyu burger, bang bang shrimp, caprese skewers, and their cocktails were a hit. The space and ambience are what caught our eye—wonderful view of the historic Mission—and definitely met our expectations. Don’t hesitate to come by for a drink, dinner, or a large group event. Hope to stop by again.

Went here or our anniversary. Noted that on the reservation, though they made no mention of it. No biggie. Sat outdoors on a great night. Very casual, informal vibe (guests in shorts, t-shirts, sandals, etc.) that differred from the more upscale vibe shown in their website photos. Good vibe all the same. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I would say the food was very good. Short rib (yes, singular) was great. My biggest criticism is that the portions were very small for the elavated menu pricing. Even my wife commented on the sea bass, "good, but they sure don't give you much." In short: Very casual rooftop bar with good food, bare, distressed wood tabletops and friendly waiters in jeans and t-shirts, with white linen tabletop pricing and small portions.
