Sugarcane Gastrobar is a gem in Old San Juan! The atmosphere is beautiful and stylish, perfect for relaxing or starting a morning or night out. Where do I even start? Trying to sum up this experience in one shot doesn’t do it justice. Dani, the owner, floats through the place like it’s his living room chatting, connecting, making it feel personal. The bartenders? If I had to guess, straight out of the 305. Real-deal mixology, with a splash of family history in every pour. The vibe is relaxed, the woodwork is clean, and the drinks hit just right! Just go. Cool off with one, and don’t be surprised when you leave two hours later with a story to tell just like my wife and I did. We were here on 7/18/25.

Awesome place to hang with friends, take a break from shopping or pick up a yummy cocktail to go. The Frozen Mojitos are as advertised: Amazing. Taste and presentation will have folks asking you "where did you get that?" Service was just as good as the atmosphere and drinks.

We’ve been to this cute spot twice for their coconut mojito. We absolutely love it! The drink is not too strong and it’s served with shaved dry coconut flakes and sugarcane. You can opt for a to-go drink.

I was just wondering around Old San Juan and stumbled into the bright lights and very comfortable bar chairs of Sugarcane. I sat at the bar and was greeted with a menu and a smile. The best two things I love seeing. The conversation between the two staff members was great. They were so down to earth and welcome. It was like I was talking to long time friends. I only wanted to try a drink and keep exploring however I’m super happy I stopped in and I will absolutely love to stop by again and I’m in the area this weekend. Great drinks. Great conversation. Great location. 5 full stars all the way.

Anna was fantastic, she gave us the backstory of Sugarcane and had great advice for picking out drinks out. All the drinks were amazing, and the mojito even came with a stick of sugarcane to chew on. Pictured are the Strawberry Margarita, Cucumber Mojito, and Pineapple Margarita.

I was drawn in by their "Best Mojito in Town" sign and decided to come try them out. The bar itself is so inviting and comfortable from the seating, esthetics and music being played. This definitely is a location you need to experience. The bartenders are so nice and welcoming. Their smiles and personalities showed through as geniuine. True Puerto Rican respect for their guests. I can't say enough of how this experience put me in a place of feeling like being family. The manager was very nice and showed his respect for his staff. Smiles...smiles and smiles makes anyone coming here enjoy every moment of their time spent here. Drinks are also able to be "To go" which is wonderful. Their Mojito is "The Best in Old San Juan" if not all of Puerto Rico. Thank you for a wonderful time... I recommend that everyone visiting Puerto Rico come here as part of their experience.

This is absolutely the best mojito I’ve had anywhere in over 15 years. I got the ginger mojito which they make with FRESH ginger juice. They also use cane sugar that is prepared in house. On top of the quality, the price is better than most surrounding bars. The service was super friendly. If you are in Old San Juan grab a drink here.

We stopped here for a quick drink while visiting and shopping in the city and almost didn’t leave! Such a welcoming place with fantastic bartenders. It happened to be happy hour and the drinks were on special as long as they were original version with no flavor. I love the addition on the actual sugar cane stick! Such a yummy touch. You can take drinks to go from this location. There was no DJ present during our Friday evening visit but there is a setup in place. I would definitely visit this place again! Well done to Charlie, Sebastian, and Cesar you all were fantastic. And appreciate the manager for taking care of us ladies!

Found this spot while on vacation with my wife and friends. Had a great time there. Drinks were delicious. Staff is very friendly. My friend left her purse there and we didn’t realize until we got back to the hotel. Took a quick drive back and they had put it away for her. Highly recommend this place
