I love this bar! The bartenders are the BEST in town! The service is ALWAYS great and the atmosphere never disappoints! The "food" is sold out of El Sapo food truck which is DELICIOUS and open late!
Since I’ve moved to San Marcos in May I started coming to this bar since it’s close to my house and away from downtown. EVERY bar staff from day one has treated me like I’ve come here for years. In all my towns (since I’m a gypsy soul and move a lot) I’ve never found a place that was so welcoming and not just for a sell. They make sure you’re comfortable, that you’re safe and that you make it home. This bar will probably be one of the factors as to why I actually buy a house and stick around a while
A lot of fun. Live music and fairly cheap brews. This is not a pinky up tea room. Say hello to mostly can and bottle brews and mixed drinks. If you are worried about if you yeezies match your Lululemon yoga pants this may not be your place. Wed band night. Tons of fun. Cold beers and mixed drink with great bar tenders. Not sure they had food but the 🍺 was frosty cold. 👍👍
Kyle and aurora are the best thing to happen to this resteraunt! We couldn’t have had a better experience
Jack's Roadhouse is a great old style Texas bar. Friendly staff and patrons in a pretenious-free environment. Pool table, live music, and relaxing outdoor seating if you prefer fresh air. Wish we had been hungry so we could have tried the food truck but heard it was worth returning to check it out. Bartender made a mean hurricane, and the frozen margarita machine served up a nice dessert round! Drink prices were very reasonable.
Meg and Kyle top tier. We had so much fun, spending the evening having a meal with each other but also these servers. They were so pleasant and kind, and we truly enjoyed our meal! Thank you!! This place will not disappoint!
Caught the band A-Tx Rejects performing tonight. Nice change, great band. Drinks and wait staff were on point. Pool table and sone games. It was a nice night for the deck area. We will be back and hope to catch the same band here again at Jack's.
It's a dive. But it's also clean and airy. We had a blast throwing darts and drinking beer. They have a ring-on-a-string game out on the patio that is frustratingly addicting. Definitely a chill spot. They have live music sometimes, but we missed a full band. There was a guy with a guitar for about an hour playing on stage the night we went, though. I didn't eat, so I can't speak for the food.
Great place for locals. If you're not a local, you will treated as one. Everyone is so welcoming and willing to talk. Great place. One of my favorite bars I have ever been to. Love it! There is a great food truck on site.

I came to Jacks to see a friend's show. The staff was friendly and attentive and the stage layout/size was impressive. My favorite is the wrap around porch, perfect for chatting with friends over a cold beer on a warm day.
Super tasty food! And awesome drinks. Just might be the best chicken tacos I’ve had in San Marcos hands down. The chef loaded it up with veggies too. My kind of taco. Will be back very very soon!
Kind of an off night for the Roadhouse but normally it's pretty vibe
Here for Ace Pepper's Blues Jam and a beer. Lots of local talent. Fun night!
Cool corner bar. Sundays play screamo or Gwar type music but Thursdays there is fun crowd. Kareoke night.
Haven't tried the food. I don't think the food trailer has ever been open when I was there. I hear it's pretty good. No draft beer but bottles are nice and cold. Outdoor seating on the deck and smoking is allowed. I have not been there past 6pm or so so I don't know what later night time is like.
Great tacos. Their quesadillas were delicious. However, while the taste was fantastic, I found the portion on the quesadillas sizes to be quite small. If you’re looking for delicious tacos, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Their menu had drinks for an opinion but didn't have any drinks available.
Pretty cool roadhouse. I liked the band they had playing on July 28th, 2023, and they have a lot of drink options. Wish they had more seating, and the pool table was in a better spot. Very diverse crowd, though, and pet friendly. No kids allowed, but everyone was pretty chill. Recommend going just to relax after a long week if you're not into the noise and congestion of clubs or bars.
No frills but, good place to have beer and sit on the deck. They do have live music.
2-7-25, 11:20pm: Put our names in for karaoke, waited an hour without our names being called, then left. In between, were told we couldn't play pool because it required change, and the bartenders had none. Drinks were cheap though!
