The venue is spectacular; they took great care of every detail and accommodated our requests perfectly. The food was spectacular; you can clearly see the quality of the produce. All our guests were delighted with the menu, both in terms of quality and quantity. A very good experience. The food is excellent and the price is in line with the quality. In fact, they've listened to the complaints about the price and lowered it. We were very comfortable. We recommend visiting the surrounding area. And, if you have time, take a stroll through the town. You'll go from coastal houses to feeling like you're in Holland, passing by houses built by returning emigrants.

Everything was clear, simple, and above all, they were absolutely willing to do anything to help us and make the day perfect. They sent us WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and visits, always with a smile and solutions to all our concerns. What's more, their team is the epitome of professionalism. Eli and Bea have been with us throughout this entire journey and have always been like family. We have nothing but words of gratitude for their work. The food is on another level, both in terms of the quality of the product and the professionalism of the kitchen staff. All of this makes our guests appreciate it and enjoy the day. The food is very good. Everything is delicious. Excellent service, very friendly and professional. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, but without becoming tiresome. It's not cheap, but it's not excessively expensive either: approximately €50-€60 per person. You can choose from the very varied à la carte menu, but there are also two tasting menus: €47 and €58 per person, respectively.

After visiting many restaurants for our civil wedding, we chose Komentu Maitea because of Zuri's transparency, openness, and natural attitude. She assured us that her entire team had the same attitude. We wanted to offer our guests (Basque, Catalan, and Galician) that way of life so typical of our region. We were also shocked by the widespread unfair policies we had encountered at other restaurants, such as having to pay for menus and an open bar for 100 people even though our wedding was smaller. At Komentu, we found what we were looking for: a place that budgeted based on the number of guests. I still can't believe this is exceptional after the pandemic. It seems everyone wants to recoup the losses from 2020-21 at the expense of young couples who are already spending a lot of money. The venue also has a dream location in the middle of a valley surrounded by mountains. The two dining rooms (a special mention to the cloister) and the garden are also beautiful. I could talk about how well we've been treated, their continued availability to answer questions and advise us over the past few months, the thoughtful attention they've given us... but to avoid bias, I'll leave you with the three most repeated comments from guests: - "This is the wedding where I've had the best meal." - "They were the best shrimp I've ever eaten." (One friend was almost crying with joy after repeating the shrimp) - "The monkfish melted in your mouth." The team, which is very young and professional, smiled constantly, making every interaction very pleasant. The bridal suite is spectacular. They've certainly earned several dozen ambassadors in a single day... Congratulations to everyone for an exceptional job.

A very beautiful and unique place, as it has its own chapel. The decor is lovely, with a fireplace in the interior courtyard of what was once a convent, featuring glass ceilings and access to the chapel from there. The food is prepared (typical fare, but with attention to presentation). The flavor is quite good, though not exceptional, but the ambiance enhances the experience. They offer several set menus, ranging from around €36 (excluding VAT and drinks) to another for approximately €51, which I've attached photos of.

The place is spectacular and very imposing, and the waitresses who served us during our meal were professional and very friendly. My three stars refer to the restaurant's value for money. We chose the tasting menu for €80 (which later turned out to be VAT-free and was €88); a menu priced more than enough to expect anything much higher than what we enjoyed. The food was delicious, but not commensurate with its price; if the menu had cost €60, it would have been recommended, but at this price, it isn't. In short, a place I'm glad I visited, but unfortunately, and with great regret, I would never eat again.

The place is spectacular, very pretty. The tasting menu could be improved. All of us at the table felt the price was exorbitant for the quality. We paid €88 for very bland cuisine and basic dishes. A 6 for the food and a 9 for the setting and space.

We were given a free night at a hotel with dinner and breakfast included. The room had cobwebs on the ceiling and a spider crawling on the wall. Dinner was average for a four-star hotel; the grilled octopus was extremely tough, the cod was raw, the prawns in the fish soup were raw, and the blackhead shrimp was also poor. Breakfast was quite good, although simple. They advertise it as a buffet, but it's not; they serve you whatever they have on the table, and it's portioned out. The only downside is that the place is nice, and the staff is friendly.

The hotel is clean, staff there if needed. I think that for a so-called four-star hotel, the breakfast could be more generous. And the restaurant prices are too expensive for local dishes. But otherwise, a pretty old monastery.

It might be great for events, but I was there on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with my wife, and except for the service and the location, everything else was very poor. The monkfish was frozen, the pantxineta wasn't pantxineta, it was an industrial cake, the cod with kokotxas had something on top of the cod slice that they said was "the" kokotxa, and the glassware was very ordinary for a wine and a place like this. In short, terrible. That said, the "high-end" price for what we ate.

I was working as a photographer at an event at this restaurant yesterday, and despite my client's confirmation that the menu had been paid for, the waitress refused to give me food. I had to leave at 5 p.m. without eating. A disappointing and unprofessional experience.

On Saturday the 29th, I attended a wedding at this venue, and both the service (unpleasant) and the food were mediocre. The room was overpriced for what it was, as was the buffet. The food was very, very sparse, and the late-night snack was terrible. The open bar was full of warm shots, and the service was very slow.

Last weekend I had a friend's wedding. The venue is very pretty and has some great views. The hotel room was quite small, and the lighting was very dim. (You especially miss good lighting if you're doing your makeup or hair for a wedding.) I'm vegetarian, so my menu was vegetarian, and I don't think it was up to par. It was very sparse (especially the main course, which was a bit embarrassing), as was the late-night snack. I understand that catering to so many people is complicated, but it doesn't cost anything to offer a more elaborate and larger meal. In my opinion, the late-night snack was very sparse, with just four items. I think food is a fundamental part of a wedding, and it's a shame that people have to beg for food or get seconds. I'm very sorry, but I don't think you were up to par with the food.

I recently attended a wedding at this hotel and would like to express my sadness at the poor treatment I received. The only positive point I would mention is the location. The place is beautiful, surrounded by a lush landscape with classic Basque houses from the late 20th century. The interior, although a bit confusing and labyrinthine, has charming spaces like its gardens and event hall. The other negative points I would highlight are the customer service. I felt treated with disdain and reluctance for no apparent reason. All meals were untimely, and the staff was horribly organized when ordering drinks and other necessities. If you want to get married and choose this destination, my suggestion is that you think twice and look elsewhere. I assure you, you won't regret it.

For my son's wedding, I thought about ordering 3 or 4 hams since we're from Extremadura, but I had to reduce the price to 2 due to the exorbitant price per ham slicer (they wouldn't let us bring our own slicers), which, as you can see in the photo, was €550 per slicer, making a total of €1,100 for slicing two hams. I paid for the hams separately.

I was at this restaurant for a wedding last Saturday, and the vegetarian/vegan menu left a lot to be desired. Especially the second course. I've attached photos of the first and second courses. It might sound unbelievable, but the photos of the dishes are exactly as they were. No ingredients were missing; in fact, I added the roasted peppers from a friend's plate (they weren't included). Besides those two dishes, there was a lemon sorbet, which I didn't photograph, but it was delicious.
