This was definitely a hole in the wall vibe. The inside feels like you have been transported to the 70s. The food was also authentic and homemade. I ordered the chicken enchiladas plate. It was delicious, but the Verde sauce had some spice in case you can't handle that. My husband ordered the carnitas and rates it 7.5 out of 10 ten being the best he's ever had. We dug the food and atmosphere so will come again and try other dishes.

I was dropping my lady off at the train station and we stumbled upon this amazing restaurant a couple minutes away. As we walked in the door we felt welcomed like it was somebody’s home. The carnitas plate was really good and the tortillas were amazing, I’d add a side of sour cream and maybe some shredded lettuce. My lady had the chicken tamale plate, it was great as well, but the salsa verde was a tad hot spicy for her. I gladly finished it for her 🥳 If you’re in the area, definitely pop by for a fabulous meal.

I was looking for a place to eat near the Amtrak station and stumbled upon this gem two blocks away. We were in and out very quickly. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with some nachos, some of our party had the pork special and I had the homemade chicken tamale. When it comes to Mexican food and it's the first time going to a restaurant you never know what to expect, this will meet and exceed all your expectations. You can see by all of the teams they support and the pictures on the wall that this is an established family run business. they also have plenty of parking so if you drive just passed the restaurant and pull into the driveway you'll see plenty of spots to park. we went for lunch and although the restaurant was full there was not a long wait. If you're planning to take a train or come into the station anywhere around lunch time I truly suggest trying this restaurant.

My friend Jeff Gibson has been coming here since the 80’s. He told me he wanted to take me and the team to have some authentic Mexican. He delivered. Cool little spot in a residential community which makes it feel more “homey”. Great service; and big portions of tasty home cooking. I’ll be back.

Super friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in, talked about the food and got to know staff. The recipe they used to make my meal was from the 50s or 60s, very authentic. Felt like it was home made. The waitress was attentive as well. The Chile relleno slapped

Visited on a Saturday afternoon with a group of 4. Restaurant was empty, so we picked a table right away. Waiter was very friendly. Ordered a cheese enchilada, potato taco, rice, beans + sopes + taquitos + burrito. Everything was delicious! Location seemed a little sketchy, but the rest itself was mostly clean and inviting.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to go in. Very clean, nice staff and the food was very good. Had a cheese enchilada and a beef tamale. Prices are reasonable and the service was quick. Will go back. Sorry about the enchilada....I cut into it before I remembered to take the photo.

Sammy, the owner, is also co-owner of the Green Parrot Villa in Santa ana. Both places are amazing. My wife and I were married at the green parrot in 2016 and we had our food tasting at la Chiquita. Its all amazing and they give you a TON of food. The photo i included is the green chili pork burrito! But I have also had the pleasure of stuffing my face full of the tostadas, carnitas tacos, and other items. Never been disappointed!

It's like being home. The cooking, the place and the friendly service. The food pure homespun Mexican with wonderful sauces, well marinated season meat and a blend of specialty tacos, burritos and, my favorite, chicken enchiladas.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give La Chiquita 10 stars, I would. This place has hands-down the best ground beef taco in the entire world — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped in a warm tortilla that will ruin you for every other taco out there. I’ve eaten tacos from LA to Mexico City, and nothing even comes close. And don’t even get me started on the chips and cheese — crispy, golden chips with melty cheese that somehow tastes like happiness and childhood all at once. Easily the best in the world. La Chiquita is an OC treasure, the kind of spot you almost don’t want to tell people about so you can keep it to yourself… but food this good deserves to be shared!

This is a great small neighborhood real Mexican food place, it sits in the middle of LOGAN district and is right next door to a small market, you don't find these places to often, only in OC!!! Food is great and service is awesome. I would recommend it for myself and people planning a party,or get together, or even on a date night. We should all support the little businesses so they can continue to serve us great authentic Mexican food.

Loved It! Lot's of history here, and our server DeAnna was able to fill us in on the 75 years of Mexican goodness. Yes, the decor is old, but it is neat and clean and the dining chairs are mighty comfy with a nice bounce! Met a gal who I know from another community of ours and found out she had been coming since 1976, and she was meeting her son for dinner. Super fun that this restaurant is so loved and has many loyal customers. My husband and I had the enchilada's, he had the red sauce (so very good and full of flavor) and I had the green sauce (Amazing, with a kick!) Beans and rice were so fresh, we gobbled them up completely. The salsa in the squeeze bottle was tasty and different, they have been making it this since the beginning! We are looking forward to going back - I hear the Chile Verde is excellent, my favorite dish that I will try. I encourage you to come and enjoy some great food and nostalgic atmosphere! ;)

Hidden Mexican neighborhood restaurant in old Santa Ana mixed residential, industrial area near train station. Been here since 1950. I came for the fried, crispy beef tacos, which hit the spot. The chili Relleno also very good. Afterward, hit Blinking Owl Distillery down the street for a craft cocktail.

The restaurant was clean, and the employees were friendly. I went for a cheese enchilada because I only eat seafood; I’m a pescatarian. Unfortunately, the cheese enchiladas I will not purchase them again. The beans and rice were delicious! And their prices are great. I did see some delicious-looking food coming out of the kitchen.
