Food was good and fresh. Service was very friendly and helpful. Place was pretty clean and plenty of seating inside. Hadn't been there in a while and noticed they have grilled items now.

Ordered 15 shrimp ,6 fish ,1 coleslaw and 1 green bean. The cashier told me they are out of cocktail sauce so what do you say okay. Went home and ate it was very good.

I went through the drive thru & order taker was kind & helped me determine my selection. Long John Silver's is my go to place for fish and chips. Always 👍 great!

Worst food i ever have had. Undercooked. Cole slaw was sour. Manger walked around doing nothing but talk on his phone. Asked 3 times to speak with him. And he didn't have the time. Girl at counter was dumb as a box of rocks. Had to ask 4 times for my 2nd plate of food. Told me time after time i didn't order it. Should my sales slip and she didn't understand and Had to get the manager.. Over all. Never going back and I'm calling corporate office on monday

Best fast seafood place ever n great service

It's been years since I last visited this place but I can say I did enjoy my meal and the pleasant atmosphere there. And considering today's prices on food it's still a good bargain. Ordered two #1 meals comes with drinks for less than $25. They do offer senior and or military discount. My wife suggested the we go more often and I agree.

The food tasted exactly like I remember. They haven't changed a bit. Nice, crispy and tender. Chicken and Fish were not dried out. Nice and moist. Hush Puppies were nice and tender. Very flavorful. Fries were cooked right. Green Beans were also good. Their tartare sauce is still the best. Can't find it anywhere else. (We no longer have Long John's where we live. It's been over 10 years. It was a real treat to get to eat there and experience the food again. ). The staff was friendly and accommodating. Service was very quick. The atmosphere was relaxed. Would love to visit again.

When I went it was out of the normal lunch or dinner time so it was quiet. All the tables not being used were cleaned as well as the condiment counter and ordering/pick up area. The staff was friendly and my order was repeated for accuracy. It did not take long to receive my to go order. I live about 90 miles away and the food smelled so good I ate most if it by the time I got home. And it was hot and tasted yummy!

It is a treat for us, hadn't had it in years so it was a shock to get a combo that used to be $4.99 is now $12.99. my husband eats seafood, I don't ...but the staff was very accommodating in coming up with a taco that I would eat based on their choice of seafoods, sides and sauces.

We do not have a Long John Silver's where we live, so we enjoy eating there when we travel. The food is always good, especially the hushpuppy's!! The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the food freshly cooked!! If you are lucky enough to live near one, I hope you visit it often!

I'm not sure how I have never tried this place. It was great. Prices seemed high to my normal but they absolutely make up for it in quality and service. Everything is super fresh

Not going to name the cashier working but I hope he gets a shout out that he did an excellent job handling the rush of customers that came in before me. It's a shame that he has to run order taking and bagging his orders unlike the drive thru person who was having him bag hers as well

I love LJS. I've been coming here since I was a kid and my parents and I would dine here for my dad's birthday. It's a good place and the food is good and the employees are nice. I love the quick service and I'm assuming this place just has bad rep because the outside is old and shabby.

Long John silver is a great place wish they put one back on east side instead of going All the way on Ming plus you could do better helping with the handicap people who need help it's hard for many of us then trying to get to a drink if your in a walker didn't get any type of assistance sad to say love this place glad I didn't drop soda on floor could do better helping handicap people who love your business like me been going here since I was younger and still going here

The food is absolutely wonderful here! I only wish they had cheaper prices and more locations. I really shouldn't complain about the prices, actually they are fair in this always going up economy, but for 2 of us it cost 35.00, and you can almost eat at Red lobster for that price, but Red lobster doesn't have those delicious little crunchiy batter bits!

The new grilled shrimp was pretty good. Bought a 16 piece family dinner through drive through. Took awhile to complete. Food was good as usual. Service also good.

Wow! Baja fish tacos are huge and so yummy! I heard Long John's had all you can eat fish/chicken on Sundays...but I couldn't get past wanting the Baja Tacos! It was so good, and much less than the endless fish platter. LJS isn't getting 5 stars only cause the tables are always dirty and sticky, but food was great!

The workers there are a hoot! The food is good a bit salty for my taste, but the hushpuppies are delicious!

I live elsewhere where we have no fish n chips place. We used to come to this very location as children. Parents know something good when they taste it SO we would make the long drive a couple times a month. I've been craving all if it for months! I was in Bakersfield today for business & both sounded as good as LJS. I asked for extra crunchys & they said sure so yes, pretty good still. 30 years later. Yum!

Food is good but the service made me not want to come back, I would hope it was just the girl that waited on us was maybe having a bad day But she ignored me when I tried to order, she looked right at me when I asked politely if I could order and just ignored me. My son ordered right before me and she was really rude to him as well. They say that it takes all kinds in this world but if I go back and she's there when I come in I will just leave.

I rarely hit these fast food seafood places because of the price but this one at least has great fries and crispy fish. Not stale in texture or taste. I did not go in i went through the drive through and thete was zero wait time. The parking lot is very large for all size vehicles and is in the same parking lot with Avenue, Game Stop, and Ross.

Awesome pricing for good food. Friendly staff and ready to help. Just be mindful at the time you go because if you end up doing a big order when they first open up you are going to have to wait because they get busy in a hurry when they first open up. The have to service both inside and out, but don't let that keep you away from eating here just be mindful of the time and plan your visit and you will be sure not to regret it.

I decided to get a shot from my childhood at LJS today. I got the 2 fish combo with fries, hushpuppies and slaw. The food was delicious and the service was great. My only complaint would be that when I walked in I was the only customer and there were like 5 tables with trash or dried sauce still on them. Do recommend.

Nice dining area (still taped off on June 14th 2021) and great food...even if I had to eat it in the car. 82 degrees is still a bit too warm to wait inside for my order with sun pouring in the windows...turn the AC cooler please! And if you ask for salt...it comes in a cocktail sauce container...buy the tiny packets!! So for the stuffy lobby and the salt service...I took a star down.

Now and days long John silver's isn't anything special but they're pricey for sure. Really greasy, fish wasn't entirely breaded, sides are cafeteria quality at best, the chicken was a poor cut with ligaments in it. With a $18 coupon the 8 pc family meal was mostly worth it, but it normally runs around $30 which is insane, you could take 2 people to red lobster for $35 and it's waaaay better

The food was good. The cashier was ok until my daughter asked for a to go box to take the rest of her food that she did not eat. She stated my daughter could not take it because it was done in only. We saw her give two different people with the same meal we got to go boxes. Anyways won't be going back there.

I would have given this place a 5 star rating. The food was good. Always is. I ordered at the drive through, my plan was to park & eat. When I parked I discover they did NOT include plastic serviceware, which wasn't a BIG problem, because I could eat the fish & fries with my fingers; But the coleslaw & I LOVE coleslaw. NO NAPKINS EITHER! When you pay over 10bux for fast food, you should be able to count on the basics to be in the bag. The customers shouldn't have to supervise by reminding the employees to do their jobs.

Spent close to $12.00 on the fish sandwich combo. Small sandwich, not very filling. Piece of fried fish in a roll with no tarter sauce. Fries were warm, not hot. Almost cold by the time I delivered it to my mom; less than a 5-minute drive.

The one girl taking the order, brought our order. Asked if we wanted napkins. And did put any tarter sauce. That stuff is so good with it. I was disappointed one of the few times I get off the and spoil myself with fish & chips. There was no tarter sauce. Other then that. It was good with sides of ur choise.

I've been coming since I was a kid. The tarter sauce is not the same. Yellow and very tart. Kinda gross, actually. A couple of chicken tasted a little past its expiration date. They dosh punch the precut holes on the to-go box so the fries were soggy. At least change the sauce, and we'll come back. For the price? No, not even.

Long John silver how are you paying your bills when you have to wait 10 minutes for two pieces of chicken upon arriving at the drive-through if there’s a wait time, please tell your customers I could be on lunch or anything. Give me a choice instead of making me late for work

My family and I have always loved eating at long John silvers. I have been going to this location since I was 5. The food is good but it’s missing the original tartar sauce. It’s hard to enjoy the food without it. The sauce provided is NOT good. I don’t understand why this location does not use long John silvers tartar sauce. Is there a specific reason?

Spent 75.00 and the food was served in clear plastic garbage bags and styrofoam containers. That made our food soggy and oily

Was very disappointed in this restaurant. The service was very slow NOT friendly, tables were filthy, food did NOT taste the same and was abit cold. There was a spill on the floor and instead of cleaning it up they put a yellow caution sign. Would NOT recommend not would I return!

Shrimp was salty, fish tacos didn’t taste fresh. It was salty and soggy, fries where okay popcorn chicken was also okay and the fish sandwich was nasty. The only thing to take the saltiness was the coleslaw. I waited for YEARS to try the food. I will never go back.

Fish was the normal, expected, loved since childhood wonderment. The hush puppies were hard and could have been used on the golf course. Shame on the cooks, how can you ruin a puppy! Would NOT recommend this location.

Received cold food and when I. Went back to resolve the issue the employees acted very rude and refused to remake the food or give a refund. I would not recommend visiting this location the costumer service is horrible with manager who's been there for over twenty years you would think they'd have more integrity about their service.

Giving 2 stars as food was awesome. But customer service sucked. First, there was no one at the counter for atleast 5 mins. Then this girl comes in, who seemed like she didn't want to be there. No greetings at all. I smiled, she just looked at me straight I ordered fish and chicken platter. No sauce provided. Had to ask for ketchup. Same treatment to the other customers who dined in. I still enjoyed the food.

I usually would give it more stars, but this visit was lousy. The server who's fairly new hated her job and wasn't afraid to show her displeasure, however she made up for it by asking if I needed help getting my order to the table (I'm disabled). After I sat down, it hit me that their AC was off, or not high enough. It was hot in the dining room making it very uncomfortable to enjoy our meal. Perhaps that's why our server was miserable.

Drive thru was horrific. Cars wrapped around. I could hear a man in a blue shirt literally yelling. TELL THEM ITS GOING TO BE 6 MINUTE WAIT. I thought jeez, some people would be grateful with a smile to have a job. I was told he was the manager. Tell you what sir. I will never go back. Your welcome.

I went in with my family to have a meal in a long time traditional place for us but instead of being greeted and welcomed we were told we could not eat there because they were closing soon. We arrived at 9:03pm because google said they closed until 10pm. Apparently google is wrong and they close at 9:30 on Sundays. Regardless it was very unwelcoming because we had enough time to eat before they closed. Horrible customer service.

Coconut shrimp are so small and each one had the poop inside. The hush pups were a little not done on the inside. The fries are okay, don't think I'm eating here again.

I ordered 2 piece fish n more in drove thru. They forgot to give me slaw n french fries. I had to get out of my car n go in to correct as several cars in line. Then had to wait inside. Only one person working both counter n drive thru other person was taking order outside to a car????!!!!!!

I live in Bakersfield where just about anywhere you eat a discount is given to Veterans and senior citizens and most of the time when I go to Long John Silver's they give me a senior discount. But today spending nearly $40, the refused. I will put this on the board at the VA telling all Veterans not to eat a the location on Ming. They don't appreciate Veterans and what they did for them and this country. Nothing but greedy people.

I was given the wrong order and when I called there was no answer. The restaurant is approximately 10 minutes from my house a I believe the only one in Bakersfield, the cashier even went over my order twice and it was still wrong when I got home

We eat here often but I Have never been so disappointed in the quality of the food this time. Fries were old & soggy. Chicken, fish filets weren't crispy at all & the hush puppies tasted stale. Were not able to return for replacement since I would have to get gas 1st & my husband was hungry. I made him a hamburger instead. Ordered the lobster bite and fish special. The one piece of fish I got was not fresh. Very rubbery and old. The bites were the only things up to temp in the plate. This is the first and last time I'll go there and pay that amount for that food! The lady that took my order was super nice and sweet! The pepsi was good.

Went here yesterday 3-27-2023 and went thru the drive thru at 10:35am. No one answers at the speaker for a couple minutes so the family and I drive up to the window. Lady rudely opens the window and says "we won't be open until at least 11am". She didn't apologize but made us feel like we were an inconvenience because these people showed up late to work and didn't have the food ready. I wanted to have this place for the first time in over 10 years for deja vu reasons and was greatly disappointed. Hope corporate reads this and does some research on when this location actually opened.

This place was ok.we went here for all you can eat fish on Sunday which we thought was a great deal for basically $9 with 2 sides. It was a problem immediately when the manager was so rude and told us no bills over 20 and no clue where we could get change and obviously no cares if we even got change or came back! My husband still wanted to so we did and it sucked! It tasted like grease the sides were horrible and you had to order each extra piece one at a time! The employee attitude was horrible the experience was horrible the food was mediocre. We won't go back!!

Don't eat here. I made the mistake of eating there and almost paid for it with a hospital visit. On Dec 6. I had ordered the 2 Fish, 3 Shrimp & Clams Platter. when i received my order the fries were old and so were the shrimp, the clams were barely warm. When i requested replacement fries and shrimp they tried claiming i was trying to get free food. the replacement shrimp was refried. Yes you read that correctly they refried some old shrimp they had in the kitchen. how do i know this? the skin on the shrimp was glassy like it had been fried a second time. I took a picture of the replacement shrimp cause it looked off, tried one and it tasted foul and the smell was like burnt skin, the texture was like rubbery shrimp. I decided to toss the shrimp because i had a feeling if i kept eating the shrimp i would get food poisoning. when i got home later I got sick and felt like vomiting. Do not eat here, they don't take the safety of their cutomers seriously. They don't care that you spent over $12 on a meal, they'll still give you old food even though it's a health code violation to give food or even refry food that's been left at room temperature for a long period of time.

Terrible service understaffed I hope my food taste good frustrated workers 30 minute wait while I watched my food in the window it's ready getting cold worker not smart enough to stir fast enough needs to be fired

I was very disappointed. I hadn’t been to a Long John Silver’s in a couple of decades. I saw they were running a BOGO platter special and thought I’d give it a try. I ordered using the app at 1:15pm for 2pm pickup. The food was ready when I got there, but already cold. They must have cooked it when I ordered it not just before my pickup time. $20 got me a piece of Alaskan pollock and 2 pieces of all-white meat chicken, 6 crispy shrimp; and a big handful of popcorn shrimp. Paired with sides and 4 hushpuppies. My sides were: waffle fries, coleslaw, green beans and cheddar cheese bites. Sounds like enough to have leftovers, it really wasn’t. The fried food was about half waffle fries by volume. My first bite was into a piece of pollock, which was tough. I didn’t know that deep fried fish could be tough. The waffle fries were essentially plastic and had no flavor. The chicken and crispy shrimp had the same batter coating as the fish. They came close to having flavor, but no. The coleslaw and green beans were ite. Nothing special commercial food. The cheddar cheese bites, being cold did not impress. Popcorn shrimp is a fun food. Tartar sauce and malt vinegar packets were in the bag. I found out later that they have other sauces in packets, which didn’t help the shrimp after I left the parking lot. All I have to compare it to is sit down restaurants and the couple of times I have fried fish myself. Considering the volume of food they sell there is no excuse for such low quality and small pieces. California Fish Grill and Mossman’s will remain my go to for fish n chips.

Food is always great but this time customer service wasn't so helpful. I had a full plate left over and I asked for a to-go box. They gave me a small tray and a bag; I told them that I needed something bigger and they said, "that's what their to-go container is". It's ridiculous, as if we don't pay enough for our food already. I guess, it's too costly for them. I did them a favor and just walked out with the plate in my hands and saved them the tray and the bag. Very poor customer service!
