Imposible no regresar las veces que sea posible, todos los tacos que pude probar en mi visita de tres días a Sayulita me encantaron, mis favoritos: el de champiñones al ajillo, tinga de zanahoria (la.combine con un chicharrón de queso) y la quesadilla de Jamaica, los favoritos de mi esposo: rib eye y el de champiñones al ajillo, si tienen oportunidad no se los pierdan pero lleguen temprano porque se acaban.

Pasamos por ahí y había fila (buena señal). Esperamos aproximadamente 15 min. Una vez que te sientas el servicio fluye rápido y el personal es amable. Los tacos al carbón y otros guisados están exquisitos. Las bebidas también muy ricas. Al entrar la noche empieza el arte callejero- todo un espectáculo mientras comes. Definitivamente volveremos.

I'd give 6 stars to this place if possible!, I'm originally from Mexico City (meaning i'm fully experienced in tacos 😀) and these tacos are on the my top 5 I've ever had. The place is a little pricy for tacos but believe me, every bite is worth it. My personal suggestion is the "taco gobernador" (shrimp, tomato, peppers and a big piece of melted mozzarella cheese), this is a tipical recipe from the Northwest of the country. Sauces are fresh made to order. They also sell vegan tacos and other vegetarian dishes like stuffed poblano peppers.

We got there towards the later side of the evening and they were out of basically everything, but we were able to get guac and tacos that were still delicious. I recommend going earlier in the evening to make sure they have everything in stock. Friendly service.

Hot spot for elevated Taco experience in Sayulita. The new location is so good! Open, clean, spacious and feels like more seating than old location. Service always good with Isaac. Prices are so reasonable for the quality of the food. Try the smoked Marlin taco if they have it and of course the white cheddar cheese wrapped, veggie filled Itacate! Yum!

Food is some of the best by far in sayulita. So good we ate here twice during our stay and we were trying to try new places for each dinning experience but we had to come back to try more things. Itacate was amazing the drinks tasted fresh and not to much ice like a lot of places. The first day we had the Jamaica tacos and quesadilla were absolutely amazing and something unique that I hadn’t had before. My only gripe if I had to have one is that if you are eating inside it can get a smoky and hard to breathe if you’re sedative to that sort of thing.

This place knocked our socks off! PERIOD! 1st of all, we came here for the tacos because they are quite epic, but we were most surprised about how amazing the guacamole was + homemade chips. And we hadn't had really really good guacamole/chips since we had arrived in Mexico, so this was exactly what we wanted on ALL counts. Our only regret is, we didn't come a second time before we left back home to Chicago because this place is cash only and we didn't have any more cash left and didn't want to hit the ATM up again. The 2nd surprise was the: Home Music! 🏠🎵 OMiGOD, yes please! We came for the food but stayed for the music. TRULY! We ended up sitting in the last table right before the bathrooms which was next to the kitchen and watching that 21yr old kid do his magic & have fun while cheffing was a highlight we would've missed if we sat outside. He heard us talking nonstop about the music while Shazaming each & every song; he informed us it was his playlist/genre. We witnessed that only a man who could cook that grand needs to have HIS music on which inspired him to create so well. It was like watching an artist, which is what both my boyfriend & I are! This entire place was such a different vibe right in Sayulita MX; it was exactly what we are looking for, but nothing what we expected from a highly rated taco joint. Since we spent 10 days in Mexico and we wanted to feel a bit of home, this was our jam. BONUS: Save room for dessert... the little lit-up open top mini-bus literally right out front has THE BEST ice-cream in Sayulita/San Pancho. I got the rocky road 3 days in a row, my #1 favorite flavor, and it was the best I've ever had! My boyfriend got different flavors every day we went.

This place is top notch. Tried the ribeye, arrachera, chorizo & pollo empanizado (fried chicken) tacos. The meat was cooked to perfection, the salsas were fresh and tasty, beers were ice cold and the service was friendly and quick. The fried chicken taco ranks #1 out of the ones we tried and is a must order. There’s also a cool cigar lounge that serves cocktails and a paleta (ice pop) truck right out front if you’re looking for a nice cocktail to go with your tacos or a cold treat post meal. Will be back for sure!

This has been a favorite eatery in town for us since 2015. It is the same fantastic food and entertaining atmosphere as it always has been. The Itacate on the menu should not be skipped. It's a crunchy casing of cheese around the filling of your choice, We always get the fajita veggies and it's amazing. They also bring wooden bowls of six different toppings to your table, even if you just get their delicious guacamole. They also bring beans and cooked onions with the meal, which are super yummy as well. It's a lot of food! Prices are great, we eat for around 400 pesos and leave stuffed like a hobo's knapsack. The also have homemade hibiscus iced tea with strawberries, another consistent go to. All in all, a place you shouldn't neglect on your trip here, just be prepared to wait if you arrive at dinner time on a weekend night, but it will be worth it!!

Aquí se pueden comer buenos tacos, y tacos grandes. A pesar de ser un lugar pequeño, y con un menú corto, las comida te la sirven muy bien. Pedimos tacos de carnitas y tacos gobernadores. Las carnitas le faltó un poco de grasa jaja y los gobernadores estaban muy bien de sabor. La atención es amable porque de entrada si te dicen que son tacos grandes y con doble tortilla.

La especialidad es "el Itacate" que es básicamente una costra de alambre y la proteína puede ser desde carne, chorizo, pollo, carnitas, mariscos (o vegetariano). Está sabroso, las salsas también son deliciosas, sin embargo por el precio de 185 cada Itacate deberían servirlos bien!! Los nuestros apenas y tenían cuatro camarones y como 5 pedacitos de pulpo, por ese precio se espera que vayan bien servidos! Hay lugares con mejor relación precio- calidad

Tacos gigantes, sí, tacos deliciosos, sí. Son tacos maravillosos para un hambre feroz. Recomiendo dos por persona si comes normal. El agua también es buenísima. El detalle único es que seguido habrá lista de espera en temporadas altas. Te sirven en tablas de madera y los guisos de los tacos recién sacados de la plancha, para que no te vayas a quemar! Ok, los tacos estuvieron súper ricos. 🤩 Rib eye, hongos al ajillo y tinga de zanahoria, 10/10. Las salsas y las aguas del día también fueron muy ricas. 👌🏼 Nunca nos había sucedido, pero no tenían agua para usar los sanitarios o lavarse las manos, lo que no fue muy bueno, ya que no tienen alternativas ante esta situación y no supieron manejarla muy bien con algunos comensales.

No sabia que era un itacate hasta que llegue a este lugar, consiste en ser un taco pero practicamente con queso que sustituye a la tortilla osea una costra de queso. Hacen de mariscos, de algunos cortes de carne, de pollo y son acompañados con pimientos y cebolla ayy no solo con hacer la reseña se me esta haciendo agua la boca. Lo malo, si llegas algo tarde se les acaban los ingredientes de algunos de los platillos por lo que proceden a correrte practicamente.

I shall return! the portions and presentation are legit. flavors are pretty balanced, nor spicy at all, and a touch salty. the meat is nice and tender, the sides are abundant. I would have liked cilantro, but am happy. the staff is kind and attentive. Drinks, like most of saylulita , are US priced, a little sweet, and not quite boozy enough. The flavors were quite nice! looking forward to the next!

La comida es buena y esta a buen precio.... Las bebidas no están anunciadas en el menú y están desproporcionadas al precio de la comida. Sólo aceptan efectivo y no se puede facturar. La atención es buena.

La quesadilla de Jamaica espectacular, pero fue decepcionante que en cuanto nos sentamos nos dijeran que ya no tenían ciertos y productos y cuando llegaron nuevos comensales extranjeros y pidieron justo eso que nos dijeron que ya no habían (camarones, arrachera y rajas) a ellos sí se los sirvieron.

Muy basta la comida , rica , la especialidad es el itacate , un taco de queso dorado , con relleno al gusto (Chile pimiento , champiñones , cebolla y carne de res) El lugar es muy pequeño y las mesas para comer están en la calle , pero agradable .

Honestamente, esperaba más, los precios se me hicieron regulares considerando que es comida de la zona turística, pero no es nada del otro mundo, la porciones eran buenas, pero creo que es lo único rescatable de este lugar.

Muy rico, pero muy caro, fuimos 4 personas, y pedimos 1 platillo simple ( para probar) y fueron más de 1100 pesos no pudimos repetir está mucho muy caro, incluso para ser zona turística , hasta los totopos y las salsas ( que se supone son cortesía en lo que llega tu comida) te lo cobran , ve solo si nos te importa esto y tienes para derrochar , en lo personal no regreso,al final nos llevan cebollas y frijol( que no pedimos ) muy rico eso sí, y terminaron cobrando la eso último también, en ese lugar las cortesías no son cortesías , ya al final me puse a leer bien el ticket para comprobar que no se me cobró las servilletas extra que pedí ( afortunadamente no)

Había leído alguna reseña del lugar y aproveché para visitarlos. El lugar es sencillo y el servicio bueno. La comida se me hizo cara para lo que fue... Esperaba algo diferente, pero no es así, son tacos de guisado, carne y marisco sin nada extraordinario.

Están muy ricos los tacos y la carne es de buena calidad, mi favorito es el taco de pulpo esta marinado con gengibre y eso le da un gran sabor. El agua de jamaica con fresa está muy fresca y rica es una buena opción para los que no tocan alcohol. El guacamole está muy rico también ya que esta fresco y bien preparado. Lo único que no me gusta es la atención de los meseros, ya que les dan prioridad a los extranjeros antes que a los mexicanos aunque ellos sean mexicanos, los sientí como muy mamones, nada de amables y mucho menos buena vibra.

Was looking for a highly rated place to eat a quick, late lunch while visiting Sayulita for the day, and El Itacate popped up as a good option. It's located on a busy street without much of a view, so if you're looking for an oceanfront ambiance, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for decent tacos with big portions and fair prices, it's worth a stop. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. But the food was freshly prepared in an open kitchen, it tasted good, and the free salsas and toppings (including killer grilled onions and very spicy salsas - even the mild knocked me out) provided with every entree were high quality. We ordered guacamole and chips to start, and it was pretty good. They serve those heavily oiled and thick chips that aren't my favorite, but the salsa had a nice flavor and chunks of jalapenos and tomatoes. Wanting to sample several items, we got 4 different tacos: steak, chicken, poblano pepper, and shrimp. The best was the pepper taco, followed by the chicken (which was all white breast meat). The steak was good, but the shrimp was really bad. The seasoning was very unpleasant on the shrimp, so I'd recommend skipping that one. The meat portions were very large, served on top of a dual corn tortilla. The tacos were very plain though, and they needed the added toppings and salsas. Otherwise, they'd just be piles of meat. Bonus points for three very important things: 1. the restaurant is very clean and well maintained. 2. the prices are clearly posted so you don't have to worry about the "tourist surprise" and overcharging that Sayulita is well known for. 3. there are many vegan and vegetarian options, and they are good! El Itacate doesn't serve bargain street tacos, but they're decent enough as a choice for lunch when you're in town.

Nice place. Tacos were very large, but the sauces were tasteless, the meat was dry and it was hard to get any flavour at all. Was better when we took one tortilla off. Think that was adding to the dry-ness Not super impressed for the price. There is better.

Tuve una mala experiencia en el lugar. No digo que los platillos sean malos, pero la atención al cliente de las peores que me ha tocado. Desde que nos dejaron en una mesa donde nos caía la lluvia, el poco interés por cambiarnos a otro lugar o ponernos alguna sombrilla. Creo que antes que la comida, la atención que ofreces habla mucho del lugar. Ojalá mejoren eso…

Tiene poco sabor y precios excesivamente caros para lo que ofrecen. El itacate cuesta 180 pesos y apenas y tiene la carne que pediste pues esta llena de champiñones morrones era como un alambre y no se especifica pues el mesero solo dice que es carne con una costra de queso. Cervezas calientes y el baño lleno de humo, buenas salsas pero ninguna que pique.

Los tacos de camarón dejan mucho que desear. $60 pesos por un taco de camarón que no viene con nada más que unos cuantos camarones con poquita salsa roja. Los itacates están buenos. La calificación no es alta ya que no tienen precios claros del menú y parece que te cobran dependiendo de cómo se sienta el mesero

Honestamente el restaurante está demasiado caros para lo que es. Pedí un taco de pulpo y de arrachera. El pulpo estaba medio quemado y para el precio me hubiera gustado que hubiera más cantidad en vez de un mini pedacito. Además el itacate está en más de 200 pesos, el tamaño está muy chiquito y desafortunadamente nos esperábamos más sabor.

La comida deliciosa, la atención, pésima, parece que te hacen un favor atendiendote, esta actitud es de todo el personal, no solo el mesero que nos atendió. Fuimos una mesa de 10 personas y esta impresión la tuvimos varios

I just left the restaurant. I got a birria taco and beer. My server was very kind. The ?manager/guy with the crutch was rude. Before I left my table, the server warned me that Apple Pay may not work but said that I could try it. When I walked to the counter, the crutch guy said I need to use a physical card. So I asked if we could try Apple Pay first and he said no. He then asked for my ticket (check) which I didn’t have because it was never given to me. I told him I didn’t have it. He got an attitude and kept repeating that he needed the ticket. So I repeated myself and said that I didn’t have it. He then hopped away and got the ticket from my server. He rang up my meal without quoting me the price. So I asked him what the total was and he snatched the ticket from the counter with an attitude and placed it uncomfortably close to my face to show me the price. I paid and left. The birria was mid. Dry, nothing to write home about. In fact, I’ve had way better birria from the taco truck in Williamsburg on a random Tuesday night. I will not return due to unnecessary attitude from the crutch guy. He was aggressive for absolutely no reason. Oh and as a physician, watching you limp around with the single crutch incorrectly was pretty painful. You won’t heal well, meanie!

súper el servicio, me encante la comida

Comida cara y fea jaja, un vaso de agua de Jamaica nos salió en $50 y ni siquiera era medio litro, los tacos de pulpo solo eran la tortilla y el pedazo de pulpo así tal cual, sin picar ni nada, los condimentos a lo silvestre en la comida, sin sazón, y el trato de la mesera no me gustó, se tardó en atendernos y se fue primero a atender a unos extranjeros de la mesa de aún lado, digo, también le íbamos a pagar la comida nefasta eh!... Mejor vayan a Mary's, está en la calle de atrás, ahí sí 10 de 10.

-El día que fuimos marqué por teléfono a medio día para preguntar a qué hora cerraban y me dijeron que dependía de si había gente pero que como a las 7pm más o menos. -A las 2:30pm estábamos sentados y ya habíamos ordenado. -Vimos que atendían a los de otras mesas que habían llegado después de nosotros 2, 🫠. -Claro que estuvimos a punto de cancelar la orden. -Nos llevaron nuestros 4 tacos a las 3:30pm (una hora después de ordenar). -A las 4pm pedimos un taco más y nos dijeron: “ya cerramos cocina”. (Es real. Jamás nos avisaron y menos nos preguntaron si se nos ofrecía otra cosa antes de que cerraran cocina). -Rica la milanesa y el pulpo pero muy secos los tacos porque tal cual es tortilla y encima el “guisado” que hayas elegido. -Cuando llegamos y nos sentamos (2:30pm) NO daba el sol en esa mesa, pero tardaron tanto en llevarnos nuestros tacos que hasta el sol se movió, y el negocio de al lado (muy amables) nos “prestó” su sombrilla para taparnos el sol. Sí… ¡¡el negocio de al lado!! 🤣. -Y aunque los de El Itacate vieron que nos daba el sol, y ya tenían varias mesas desocupadas, no nos ofrecieron cambiarnos de lugar. Yo ya quería irme pronto de ahí. -Nos quedamos con hambre así que fuimos a comer a otro lugar que es de pizzas (muy ricas y donde sí atienden bien 👍 y son atentos, por cierto).

Si estos son "los mejores tacos de sayulita" tienen la vara super baja, en principio el servicio es pésimo el mesero "Oscar" estaba distraído acosando a unas clientas que se veían claramente incómodas y evidentemente malinchista atendía mucho mejor y más rápido a los extranjeros, nos atendió de mala gana, con mala cara y parece como si nos hiciera un favor por atendernos. La comida era buena, pero así nada más, una carne cualquiera y una tortilla cualquiera, nada del otro mundo pero cuando la pones en perspectiva con el precio la verdad es que los platillos no valen ni la mitad de lo que cuestan pésimo lugar, nada recomendable supongo que solo es para atrapar turistas.

Ciertamente, el servicio y el lugar están bien, pero lo más importante, la comida, es muy decepcionante. El taco de marlin está bien a secas, pero el de pulpo es francamente malo, sólo un pedazo de tentáculo cocido, arrojado en una tortilla, sin más sabor, sin más sazón, sin sal ni condimentos... Fueron los únicos tacos que probé y ya no quise aventurarme a más malas experiencias. Si no conocen este restaurante, piénsenlo antes de ir.
