OMGGGG DONT WALK RUNNNNNNNN TO CHEZ NOUS NOWWW!!! lol I lived here my whole life and always said “I wanna go there” … lived around the corner for 6 years and never stopped til a couple weeks ago and it’s became my new favorite place to have brunch!!! Ashley is just a doll!! And everything is always AMAZING!!! Everything is homemade I mean from The fries to the bread I can’t brag enough the New England clam chowder and the house salad special for lunch go 11$ was my first meal and it was amazing and I’m obsessed with the cappuccino!!! lol it’s soooooo good!!!! EVERYTHING is made with love and served with love!! I absolutely love it here it’s my new spot !!! 💕💕💕💕🙏🙏🙏I pray for there success in this wonderful homie restaurant!!!!
Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at Chez Nous in Schenectady NY, and let me tell you, it was a truly exceptional experience. In fact, I would argue that it could hold its own against any restaurant in NYC. The food was simply outstanding - I ordered the Tenderloin of Beef & Shrimp Etouffee, and every bite was cooked to perfection. The lobster cream sauce was a standout, and the beef medallions practically melted in my mouth. But it wasn't just the food that impressed me - the staff at Chez Nous were incredible. Our server, Kayla, went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting. The bar at the end of the dining room added to the welcoming feeling, with the sound of laughter filling the air as people enjoyed themselves. Overall, I can't recommend Chez Nous highly enough. It truly stands out as one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining at.
What an absolute phenomenal experience. Run don’t walk if you are looking for exceptional food and amazing service come see Ashley, Justin, Sayid, Katie, Chase, and Pete. The food is incredible!!!! Go check it out! You will love it. I’m going to be back! See you there!!! 🦋
I would dine here weekly if I lived closer. The staff was not only friendly but professional to a fault. The bartender knew the qualities and differences of all their wines and liquors ... a rarity! The chefs modified a menu item to satisfy my craving (there was no eggplant parm on the menu and I was dying for some). There were eight of us eating at the bar and every dish - app, salad, main and dessert - was perfect with the exception of the risotto being slightly overcooked. The desserts were phenomenal... and if you want to know how crème brûlée should be prepared, look no further .... this was perfection and you will not find any better.
This was my first time trying Chez Nous. The food was well plated, with great taste, appropriate serving size, and reasonable price. We had a bottle of wine with dinner and dessert afterward. The wait staff did a great job giving us space to visit among ourselves. When we left, it was almost 3 hours later. Did not see the time fly by. Fortunately, there was no one waiting for our table, and Chez Nous was absolutely fine with our enjoying the evening. I would definitely come back.
Fantastic people! Wonderful family run restaurant. Great food and drink and great service! Very accommodating for dietary needs. Ashley made a custom dessert drink for my wife, delicious! (Dairy free, super chocolate)
The restaurant was nicely renovated and they have variety of menu! My husband and I had a cup of new England clam chowder, gumbo (which was generous portion), chicken pappardelle and cheese burger wrap. They came with salad and bread. All were so good so far. They are generous portion for reasonable prices. We're definitely going back!
A lovely spot in Schenectady with food well surpassing the neighborhoods other options. A menu mix of traditional French, and offerings of Cajun, Italian, and American fare. Gluten & vegan options too. All stemming from proper techniques and seasoned well. Impressive is the volume of the menu made in house… pasta, breads, desserts, dry aged beef, etc. The front & rear staff are friendly and accommodating. The bar spirits seems to be growing in offerings as well as wine selections as the menu changes with the season and weekly specials. Well worth stopping in for a peek, since the new owners took over in 2022.

Third time at Chez Nous and have yet to be disappointed. The staff and atmosphere are so friendly and welcoming. 7 of us enjoyed dinner before a show at Proctors and 7 of us walked away completely satisfied. A lot of the items on the menu are scratch made and the portions are beyond generous. The flavors from the dining experience dance on your tongue and leave you wanting more - From the homemade dressings for your side salad to the fresh baked bread and a variety of fresh entree choices, I promise you will walk away completely satisfied. Not to mention - AFFORDABLE. Great spot for a date night, group meal, or just in the mood for some good food.

It was three of us, one person had soup and salad, the other had a steak and I had the fried fish with curlyfries. We all loved it. The food was definitely made with love. And out server was great! It was delicious. We will be dinning here again soon.
We came in not realizing it was restaurant week but everything was great, from food and drinks to service and ambience! We only live 10 mins away and can't believe it took us so long to find Chez Nous!
Really nice cozy spot. I got the beef Wellington which was delicious. Very reasonable prices given the quality and portions. Excited to come back!
The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. They always ask if we're going to other events downtown or need to get back to work so they can tailor their service to our scheduling needs, which is such a nice touch. The food is always fresh and delicious. Our favorites are the Cherry Pepper Chicken, Shrimp Panzanella, Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap, and Vegan Ravioli. Oh, and the fries are out of this world! We'll continue to be back!
Had dinner last night at Chez Nous during restaurant week. Had heard very good things about this place and thought restaurant week would be a good time to visit. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. Appetizer of chicken and sausage gumbo was great. A little heat and arrived hot with a tasty bruschetta on the side. Chicken Marsala also first rate with sides of rice and asparagus. Creme Brûlée also great. Everything great. Plan to return to sample their full menu. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love going to Chez Nous! Never disappointed, everything I've ever ordered has been amazing! We always get the frog legs and escargot for appetizers and it's out of this world! The service is very friendly, I enjoy the class and charm. I love that you have the option to reserve spots at the bar ( which has a fireplace ❤️) I always look forward to going to this establishment. One of my favorite places!
Beautiful ambience! The food from my salad and bread to my beef wellington was one of the best meals I've ever had. Great bar for a drink before dinner. Ashley and her staff were very attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back!!

I was blown away by the service here! The staff were super friendly from the time we placed our branch's order to the minute we walked out, even going above and beyond to help us out to the car. When I walked in, I liked the rustic, cozy hometown vibes on display. Finally, we all found our food to be delicious! Keep up the awesome job!! 😊
Three of us went for the Summer 2025 restaurant week. The food was served as full portions, not little tiny sampler plates. We had the chicken marsala, chicken piccatta, and sole along with the salads and dessert. Sooooo good! Make sure to leave room for the peanut butter pie and nine pin beignets! Our server was very friendly and accommodating! We sat in the side room with the stained glass, like our own little private room. Loved it!!!
This restaurant is Schenectady’s Best kept secret. I’ve been there several times for lunch and it never disappoints. The service is spot on from when you walk in the door, no pun intended but I’m in a wheelchair(handicap accessible) to when you are leaving, opening doors and exchanging goodbye pleasantries. The place itself is immaculate, shiny floors, beautiful atmosphere, great background music and above all delicious food you know is prepared to order. While being there for lunch, I ordered off the dinner menu with no problem, as the staff is extremely accommodating. The menu includes a wide variety of options to satisfy every palate. Next time you’re looking for a great, quiet and delicious place for lunch or dinner, give Chez Nous a try you will not be disappointed. They have private spacious rooms for small private events and I will reiterate the place is spotless and extremely comfortable with GREAT FOOD! Thank you and Buon Appetite! Dean J. Tessitore
Our server was fantastic! The food was very good. We had Beef Wellington and Jambalaya. The Baked Alaska was good, but had no ice cream. The drinks were very good!

I ate there in October with my family . The food was amazing..Highly recommend it. Service also was professional, courteous and very pleasant. The only thing I would recommend to knock up the ambiance a notch and to finish the setting with the excellent menu would be to add white linen table clothes . It seemed incongruous to have such a presentation of fine food served on pub style tables. However, this did not deter us from returning. This time I’m bringing new company . Brendan
Great Quaint Interior. Very Nice People. Great Service, 5 loved their food, 2 said needed improvement, not really any French foods on the menu. Murphys Oil Soap is good for wood floor freshening.

In town on business and found this lovely sounding place. Menu looked great, reviews were exceptional, so I gave it a shot. This is the kind of restaurant I want to succeed. I was able to walk in and get a table immediately at 630 on a Wednesday night. I ordered the Rhone red wine, the lobster bisque, chicken sherry, and cannoli cheesecake. The lobster bisque is a twist on the traditional as it has a large lobster ravioli on top of the bisque, but no lobster chunks inside the soup. You are intended to dip it. Interesting idea! However, I found the flavor to be lacking, and there was a specific ingredient added to the bisque that I didn't care for. On the the main dish. The chicken sherry, was flavorful and unique, I would say good not great, but a large portion, I took half to go in a box. The cannoli cheesecake I was most excited about but a little nervous about the citrus component, and unfortunately the citrus just overwhelmed all the other flavors. As far as service, while definitely friendly, my water sat empty until I could flag someone down for a refill. I had to ask for plates to be cleared and a dessert menu, little things, again, good not great. As stated I really want this place to do well, I liked the 'old home vibe' and think they have a lot of good things in place. A few smallish tweaks and I believe it would be a stand out establishment.
Chez Nous has a fantastic star rating on Google. I was very excited... instead of a culinary delight, I found myself disappointed. The service and ambiance were very good, but the food was lacking in flavor, execution, and vibrancy. The one thing I can say is that the food looked good on the plate. My French onion soup was burnt on top and, in general, not good. I intended to send it back, but my boyfriend ate some, so I didn't bother. He had a chicken gumbo that he enjoyed very much. My salad was decent with a tasty balsamic dressing that I would have again. The bread seemed to be a whole grain type of sourdough and was very good with the provided whipped butter. My boyfriend ordered the wild mushroom ravioli with roasted pepper coolis, which looked beautiful on the plate but tasted bitter. I had chicken cordon blue, which was just overall lacking in flavor. For dessert, we were let down again. The bananas foster was lacking in flavor and caramelization, and the apple cider beignets were tasty but dense and heavy for what I was expecting. Last and not least, the 2 drinks that I had, a strawberry margarita and a peach sangria were pretty good. Overall, we will not return, there wasn't any value for the price for us, the best part of the dinner was the company and that could have been had at home.
We had a 6:30pm reservation on 2/4 and arrived about 15 minutes early. They were able to seat us right away but we waited about 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The atmosphere was nice and any employee who spoke to us were pleasant. Unfortunately, the service was not good. It looked like there might have been one server for most of the restaurant. There were two other people who seemed to be helping out (pouring water, cleaning up tables, and telling the server what tables were requested). While they seemed to be trying to help, I think it was going poorly. For example, we asked a woman who worked there if we could order a bottle of wine. I saw her walk over to the one server (who was running around like crazy and doing the best she could) and tell the server what we wanted. Why couldn't that person just go get the wine?!? Our appetizers arrived about an hour after we sat. When they brought the appetizers, I asked if we could have some bread (they still had not brought us any). The server said 'of course' and again was very pleasant but we never got bread. Usually someone comes over to ask how everything is going and/or come back a few minutes after food is served to check in - this never happened. If it weren't for the yummy cocktails (French 75) and appetizers, this review would have been 2 stars. For apps, my husband ordered the tenderloin of beef cassoulet and I ordered the lump crab and lobster napoleon. Both were excellent! The salads were good too. Our entrees on the other hand were bad. My husband ordered the Seafood Fra diavolo - there was very little flavor and the seafood was overcooked. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo - the shrimp were fried well but had no seasoning at all. The pasta was gross and had no flavor or seasoning. It was nothing like alfredo sauce - it was kind of a watery sauce. We had originally planned to stay for dessert but between the poor service and dissatisfying entrees, we chose not to.
