Stopped in for Taco Tuesday during Happy Hour on New Year's Eve. Attentive and impeccable service from Kaitlin. Food was incredible...delicious and tasty. Highly recommend their shredded beef in their crunchy and soft tacos. Had a booth in the bar. Ambiance was great. I must say customer service was outstanding. Kaitlin was customer friendly and polite. We will return!
Great luncheon specials. Very large portions. Will be back
We really enjoyed our meal at jalapeno inferno. Came here from a recommendation from the pro shop at the Troon North course, and we were certainly not disappointed. Starting with the chips and salsa, the chips were super good and a unique layering style that caused them to be a little bit lighter and flakier which we really liked. I got the lunch fajitas and it was plenty of food, all very flavorful and enjoyable. One of my companions got the chicken wrap and the tortilla they used was an authentic homemade style tortillas for the wrap, and it was next level. He was very complimentary of the wrap. The margaritas were tasty, but came in a martini glass and we thought they were a bit small for the price. I would go ahead and get a rock's margarita with some sort of specialty liquor mixed in because it's roughly the same price anyway. We were there for a friend's birthday and the waiter was super nice and after our meal brought out some ice cream with a sort of flavored crust on the outside, and it had some festive sparklers for the celebration. Much appreciated. Highly recommend!
Great tasting regional Mexican food with just the right amount of spices. Try their tamales....so good!! Ordered the flan dessert and it was top 5! Super nice staff too.
Very attractive facility and large dining area with many seats. Party rooms with outdoor seating areas. Nice size bar area. Great food, wonderful appetizers. No entree under $14.00. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms are large and very well lit, more than two. HC accessible. Photos as of Spring of 2024. I very rarely give 5 stars. The business has to be extraordinary and needs to really earn my rating. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
What a great dining experience! While Mrs. Awesome has been there before, this was my first trip, but believe me, this won't be my last stop! Parking was a breeze and that's always a plus for me! You walk in the front and immediately are hit with a pretty authentic Hispanic/Latino vibe and it was very cool. We settled into the bar and were greeted by Nick and trainee Eric. You will truly feel welcomed and it was like having lunch with friends! If you're planning on going, do yourself a favor and call to see if Nick's working. He's actually that good and that cool! Mrs. Awesome and I both ordered the "Power Salad" and Man O' man was it good. But their menu is far more complex than this and I'm pretty sure there will be something for everyone in your group. Give them a try, I think you be pleased! Thanks for reading
As we were sitting there, we thought this place does not feel like a restaurant, the atmosphere in the back outside feels like we were somewhere else. THe ambiance is lovely, the food impeccable and the staff very very kind.
Great service , everything was hot and fresh!!! 10 of us and no complaints 👌!! Chile Relleno was delicious!!!
Great place to have a happy hour or two lol. Love their strawberry margaritas, cheese crisp, guacamole, cheesy bean dip, and flour chips. Usually full on just the apps but everything is great there.
This place is amazing. Haven't been here for months. I sit at the bar and the bartender brings me mybdrink and knows what I want to order. She's amazing!!
This is for the Pinnacle Peak location for yesterday at noon. There were 3 of us; our son is a regular and we are newbies. Our wait person was Summer, who was delightful, funny, engaging and efficient. I had a Courtney’s Burrito and paid the $2 to have steak instead of chicken. I could only eat half of it so I’m finishing it for lunch today. I can honestly say I’ve never had a better burrito! My wife had a chicken taco salad that she said was excellent and she’d get it again. It looked so good I’ll do it next time (maybe) with the ground beef option. Our son had a chicken Courtney’s but he does this often. We sat outside on this gorgeous Christmas Eve Eve day in North Scottsdale. Highly recommend it! Back again 6pm or thereabouts on 5/18. Place was busy, busy on a Thursday? Quite warm outside; the misters were going but most everyone chose to sit inside. We were seated quickly, drinks arrived quickly, food orders taken quickly, food arrived quickly, then we enjoyed ourselves taking in the sights and sounds of a gloriously busy place…at our leisure. Wait person was run ragged but somehow managed to take care of all of us. This time I had the Courtney’s burrito with chicken and my wife had the Pizza Fundido (it was wonderful!). I tried a jalapeño margarita which was a real test of my ability to ingest things hot. Wife had a prickly pear margarita which I can safely recommend: very refreshing. They have a deep menu which will keep us coming back!
We felt.... welcomed home. It was our 1st time and had a great experience with our 1 yr. old. The place was about 50% full, most were in the bar area with their wide and deep selection of premium tequilas. We were seated and brought chips/salsa and waters including a kid friendly water(very thoughtful). We were suddenly brought a 1st time guest tamale(tasty and classy). Our meals(Chile Relleno with added pork and Hatch sauce & chicken enchilada) were spicy and flavorful. We would recommend for food/beverage and service.
Liz was our server she was very helpful and informative salsa was wonderful love the mixed chips corn and flour. My wife had an enchilada combo cheese and a green tamale very moist and great flavor. I had the surf and turf enchiladas steak and tequila lime shrimp 🍤 😋 we will definitely be back.
Top shelf quality and service. Excellent food with flair and fresh ingredients. Ordered the Baja Style Fish Taco and I wanted more. They have a lunch menu special that serves from 11:00am to 3:00pm. A modest selection of brews at the bar and a comfortable southwest ambience that feels open and inviting for dining. Prices are +average and parking is a very large plaza. Very popular with locals. I will definitely be returning with my whole crew 🦜🏴☠️ Yarrrr!!!
My wife and myself loved this place we will make the drive. The staff was amazing.
My favorite part about this restaurant is the artwork. They are bold, beautiful and very interesting. I had the sweet tamales, too sweet for me, didn’t really care for them but my husband had enchiladas that were delicious and a margarita I tasted it that was good as well. Chips and salsa were good and John our waiter was great. I love the new blue and yellow outdoor patio chairs they really added a lot of pop to the patio. I WOULD RECOMMEND.
This was our first time stopping by Jalapeño Inferno and we are so happy that we did! We sat in the bar area to experience a more lively section of the restaurant. We shared the dinner size of the chicken fajitas which was a perfect potion for us. We also ordered a guacamole for an appetizer, that was delicious as well. We requested light butter for the fajitas because of dietary restrictions and needed the vegetables cooked to soft/well done. They were cooked perfectly! Not charred like we've gotten in some restaurants! We had such a good experience that we will definitely come back.
OK, to start with, the chips and salsa are so good you can easily fill up on them; the chips are a mixture of fried corn AND fried flour. Really delicious. Now, don't forget the margaritas - also very good. But save room for the food; we stop in when were up on north Phoenix/Scottsdale just so my wife can get the green corn tamales - she says they are the best she's had. I mix it up. I like the tacos; the green chile pork; the fried chile rellenos stuffed with the green chile pork. Just go, it's really good!
First time eating here on Vacation and it was great! Lexxie was our server and she did an excellent job! She went out of her way to make sure we had a great experience, RockStar!!!
we absolutely loved jalapeño Inferno. The service was great, very attentive and sweet. The appetizers were good in the main entrées were delicious. I’d go back in a heartbeat
The food was awesome and with the just the right amount of spice! Husband had the grande buritto and I had the hatch green chile enchiladas. The Boss Margaritas were tasty. It was a little loud, but the food made up for it!
we came last night for the first time with our dog on te patio. I am handicapped with a service dog for y hearing. EVERYTHING was wonderful. I found a new place for dinner.
The salsa and churros are our favorite! Tonight I also tried the margarita of the month and it was delish!
Everyone was amazing as soon as we walked in. My husband and I had the best conversations with Scott, who is a liquid magician. He made us custom margaritas. The food was absolutely delicious, too! I highly recommend this place.
Love the location, lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, piped in music on the patio, no wait on Thursday afternoon, big margaritas, good chips and salsa.
Went with friends to Jalapeño Inferno on Scottsdale Rd and Pinnacle Peak today for lunch. There was plenty of seating and we opted for the patio. Servers arrived with menus right away, and ice water, chips and salsa were close behind. I ordered the Wednesday lunch special, Stacked Enchiladas. They were delicious! Chips came in two types, flour and corn. This was a new one on me! I had both and enjoyed the variety. The salsa is good and the "hot" one has good flavor, but I didn't think it was very spicy. Delicious, though. I will definitely be a return visitor to this restaurant chain.
Great service at the bar!! Ask for John M. If you come in! My drink service was quick, and John was happy to do my special requests. Highly recommended! If you happen to need a table, ask for server Aaron! Super helpful and accommodating! Will come back again!
We just had our family reunion 2025 at Jalapeños. They did an awesome job of hosting 17 people each with distinct tastes. Jennifer was incredible: accommodating, gracious and professional. Everything I wanted for this special occasion was met. We requested Jimmy to be our waiter and Jennifer made it happen. Jimmy was amazing: attentive, courteous and personable. The food was great from the appetizers to the main dishes. Thank you Jennifer and Jimmy for making this event memorable. D
I have been a Jalapeño Inferno customer for many years. The food and service are consistently great. Jonathan, Manager, was extremely courteous and professional during today’s visit.
Good food at a reasonable price. Great margaritas. Probably the best happy hour that we've found in Scottsdale.
Great Happy Hour pricing and love the flour tortilla chips and salsa, but the best part about our visit was our server, Julie! Super attentive and observant - she even heard me mention to my friend that I would get her a Diet Coke while she ran to the restroom and came over and said "so one Diet Pepsi" before I even had the chance to order it. She was personable and made sure that we liked our dishes. The best customer service I've had in a while. Thanks, Julie!
Had a great late dinner. We enjoyed the guacamole and we also loved the chips and salsa and how the chips were a flour and corn mixture. Pollo fundido and enchiladas were outstanding. Had the boss margaritas and they were spot on
First time at this location since the DC Ranch location closed. They seemed short handed. Got the lunch fajitas which were OK. The guacamole had lots of black streaks which was either a sign of rotten avacados or it has been setting out too long which was quite frankly gross. The onions and peppers were a little on the raw side but the carne asada and chicken breast were good. First place I've ever gotten fajitas where they don't offer cheese, just the gross guacamole and sour cream as toppings.
Your typical Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa provided off course right off the bat, they were ok. But I've had better chicken and shredded chicken tacos. But overall it was good, not the best but it was good. I'd go back if I was in the area. Nice shopping center though in North Scottsdale. Kinda pricey too.
Artsy ambiance but food was average. Salsa dip was good. Tyler was friendly.
My expectations for this place were not high - my chum and I had plans to meet up with someone nearby at Soul Cafe, and we ended up accidentally being...two and a half hours early. Rather than spend most of that time looking for a place to eat, we figured this was by far the most convenient option, and strolled in. Even when we walked in, nothing I saw blew me away. Apparently it's a bit of a ghost kitchen, so the dine-in customers were minimal and the vast majority of orders/food we saw were for to-go orders. There was a bar right by the entrance with a few people, so we settled in there and had a surprisingly pleasant time. Our bartender was awesome. Sam was super friendly and hospitable, and the defacto leader of what turned out to be an "everyone knows your name" bar. When we finished our lunches and still had probably 90 minutes or so to kill, she very graciously let us hang out with nothing but waters and chips/salsa until it was finally time to go to the other end of the parking lot. (Both Jalapeno Inferno and Soul Cafe are in the same larger strip mall, probably a three- or four-minute walk from each other, if that.) We became temporary chums with several local customers, who gave us insight into the Scottsdale area as out-of-towners, and I even stumbled across a former high school English teacher who had just as many opinions about Lord of the Flies as I did. (Team Piggy.) The food itself wasn't too memorable, honestly. We did end up having quite a few generic Mexican-ish dishes in Arizona like this, and they kind of blended together. When we met up with another one of my friends later who's lived in the Phoenix area for several years, she told us the food scene isn't considered that impressive, especially when it comes to trying to find authentic ethnic cuisines that you'd assume were pretty prevalent. So I don't want to claim here that this place specifically was just run of the mill, because it seemed to be a pretty pervasive trend. That said, my lunch was fine. I ordered the carne asada fajita lunch, which was about $15. I'm not usually a huge fajita fan because I don't like crunchy shizzle in my food (which is kind of a hallmark of this dish), but this version thankfully didn't have peppers, onions, etc. - it actually had a lot of accompaniments that I associate with burritos, such as rice, beans and guac. Very standard but welcome. I usually don't have a strong, favorable opinion of a bar unless I've had a few drinks there. This is one of the rare instances where I really enjoyed myself for a few hours at one with nothing but water. The clientele and barkeep were the stars here, not the food. For one random slow Wednesday afternoon, we passed the time with new friends and I'd return solely on that basis.
Nice place. Salsa tasty. Food good. Service, we were well taken care of. Drinks came very quickly. Food service was timely.
Food is good, and service was nice. I sat outside on a nice day. The only thing I struggled with was $16 for lunch fajitas. I assumed it was supposed to be lrunch portions AND lunch prices, but I feel like all I got was a full-priced plate for half the food. It was perfectly sized for lunch, but I swear last time I was here it was a $9.99 lunch deal, and I'd be back in a heartbeat for that, but $16 was too much for such a small portion. Otherwise, it's a great place with great food and good service.
Margaritas are delicious! Ceviche was OK, hence the 4 stars. Would have added more lime and had to spice it up as it tasted a bit bland. I ordered the chile rellenos, delicious! Rice was good, beans were OK. We also ordered birria tacos and surf and turf enchiladas…all of this was delicious!! The restaurant was crowded, and even a wait when we left. I had made reservations earlier, so this was a good move. Chips and salsa were also good! We will definitely be back!
Happy Hour is very good. Half priced app’s and a couple bucks off beer. The app’s are uniformly great. A couple include Hatch chilies which makes them muy caliente. Also they have free salsa and chips. Outdoor seating is pleasant as well. Worth a visit for sure.
Service was amazing, even though we showed up with 20 people and no reservations! Giving a 4 star only because most of their food has sugar in it. I don’t like sugar in my appetizers or main meal. Ordered the highly rated sweet corn tamale but didn’t expect it to be a sweet appetizer. Hot salsa had sugar it as well. Might be a place for you if you prefer a little sugar in your dishes.
Loved the restaurant and atmosphere. Our server was awesome, attentive and friendly, not overly hovering but somehow on point when we needed something she was there. The issue... The food. The taste was okay but never did I expect the food to be out in less than 5 minutes. Why is this a problem? Because that means all the food is pre-made...None of it's freshly made to order??? That in itself is disappointing. My husband's burrito was huge, he loved it. I ordered the taco Tuesday special. I liked the crispy tacos but would not order the soft taco again nor will either of us eat the rice or beans again as they were bland. The chips and salsa start comes with two types of chips, we enjoyed both and their salsa. We will try them again.
Don't sit at the outside bar, the chairs are so low you're eating chest high. Skip the Barria tacos, the come out so soft you can't pick them up. Other than that, all was good.
Been coming here for years. Moved and decided to meet friends there for lunch. Food was ok. New menu and prices have increased. Luke warm food arrived quickly and that alarmed us. Ok flavor but nothing special. The flour chips and salsa are good. The margaritas went up in price as well. They did have a daily lunch special of $11-16. I thought this was pricy for lunch. I did order a taco and enchilada and they put them both on one plate. It would be ok but my hard shell tap was soaking in the enchilada sauce and broke apart as soon as i picked it up because of the sauce. Also when the bill arrived we were charged $3 for chips and they never mentioned it to us. Overall very expensive for quality and portions we got.
Love this place. Found it about a year ago. Food is absolutely fantastic. They have the best Black Friday gift card match and I maxed it out! After dozens of times eating in the bar area you’ll be served quite often by the bar tender John. Kinda looks like a knock off PeeWee Herman. Not sure why but he always seems to have a chip on his shoulder like he’s above you. Don’t ask him clarification questions about drinks specials or menu items as this will irk him to no beyond. He’s often staring away at something else while engaging with you about your order or needs. My sons pointed out that he’s much nicer to tables with all women than just guys like us and I would agree as we’ve witnessed this on multiple occasions. Today was the straw that broke the camels back with us. He greeted us asked about drinks and we started to place our normal order but then he mentioned a “top shelf” special so I asked some questions to see what it was about and he wanted nothing to do with my questions. Ultimately he said he was too busy. He repeated the same line 5-6 times without talking to me like a human so I called him a robot. He made arrogant comments towards me and my sons and slammed his note pad walking away. We got up immediately and went to the front to speak to Johnathan the manager to explain the situation. We went to the other location a mile down the road. Carrie served us and was great. Well go back to the Scottsdale road location but I’ll never let that clown John serve me and my sons again. PS Note: I always tipped John 20-25%.
Used to be very good. Will not be returning based on the food and service. Missing flavor and friendly people. Guacamole was brown and disgusting. My little one ordered a burger and the ketchup tasted like they added sweetener. He ended up puking at the table.
Don't let the name intimidate you. There was no fire or even strong Jalapeño in any of our food. The complimentary chips are a mix of corn chips and flour tostitos(never in a real Mexican restaurant). The salsa must be made in New York City(some of the worse ever) and not spicy. Requested spicy salsa and got a spicy but tasteless sauce similar to enchilada sauce.. Ordered Chimichanga(it was very small). The sides of refried beans(a tasteless paste) and Spanish Rice(tasteless) were some of the smallest portions(1 tablesoon of each) I've ever been served. Only a small teaspoon of sour cream on small bed of lettuce(maybe a tablespoonful) was served with the entrée. They charged for sides of their signature Jalapeño sauce(sour cream) and Tomatillo sauce. I can say our server(Robert) tried his best. He gave good service and offered suggestions. However, No matter how good the service nothing makes up for tasteless food. They should call this place Pequeña Comida Blanda. Save your money or visit any other Mexican restaurant (they're all better than this place). Not even going to call it a restaurant.
It was no good here. I ordered a Kelli's combo with a red shredded beef and a relleno with black beans. Instead they switched my enchilada with someone elses. I immediately noticed but the other person at my table did not and ate my shredded beef enchilada. I let the server Renee know but she did nothing for me. So remember if you dine here they don't care about your order and they won't do anything for you either. So if they do musical chairs with your food get prepared to try what everyone else at your table orders.
Sorry but after many years of great food and service at this location, my visit there Saturday evening was a disaster from the start. 1. could not get our reservations done by phone (automated AI failure) tried website but Opentable website did not seem to be working correctly, so had to physically drive to the location in person and confirm the reservation. Person at the front desk acted like this was a big inconvenience to them. 2. Arrive for our table and was placed at a table with inoperable overhead lights. Could not read the menu, very dark. When we asked about the lights, were told that there were no lightbulbs (they are next door to ACE hardware...pretty sure they could have solved that long ago). No offer to move our party to another, better table (other tables were open for most of our stay). So we had to use our phone lights to read the menu. 3. Ordered our beverages and one was not delivered. After quite a long time, the waiter finally stopped by and we asked for the final beverage. The attitude by the waiter suggested that he though we must have consumed it already and were just trying to get a second one. nevermind that all of the other beverages were still mostly full as everyone was waiting before a friendly toast. 4. Finally got our food order and sorry but it was just not up to the level of the past. My entree was partially burned. Others were not great. We did not complain due to all of the other problems and we just wanted to get out of there by this point. There are so many other places where good service and good food still exist.. probably won't be coming back to this one.
Started out with the nachos with everything. Needless to say the ground beef tasted like plain ground beef with little to no seasoning, so it was very bland. Also got the enchiladas, 1 ground beef enchiladas and 1 shredded beef. Both were bland flavorless meat with almost zero cheese! Enchiladas should have plenty of cheese and the meat should be better qaulity and seasoned. Also the waiter threw my food in the trash before I was done eating!! I looked down and my food was gone!! I didnt notice the waiter took my food!! I politely asked the waiter for a refund for what he threw away. The waiter then came back 20 minutes later with more food and no refund!! I didnt ask him to remake the food I asked for a refund. This is totally unacceptable we will not be back unfortunately!
