We were staying in the Fremont area on vacation and were very happy to find this place. The food was delicious! We split appetizers and got entrees, but did not have room for dessert. Everyone loved the Chinese Broccoli and Short Rib Wontons. I enjoyed my Crab Noodle entree — it had the perfect spice level for me. The cocktails were also enjoyable.

Above and beyond. Revel is not traditional Korean food but a modern spin on Korean dishes. The best thing I had was the summer lettuce salad and the dumplings. Divine!!!

Very nice service, atmosphere, and food. I love their open kitchen and the creativity of their dishes. I’d describe their cuisine as fusion, yet comforting Korean food. I came in as a walk-in and was seated right away, even with a group of four.

We made reservations which was great. They had both indoor and patio seating. The patio was well covered and people were eating perfectly despite the drizzle outside. We sat inside and I really liked the music and the artwork. They have a bathroom that is shared with other establishments but it was kept clean. The food came out warm and quickly. Most importantly our drinks came out quickly and they were great. Our host was very nice and checked on this multiple times.

Had a spectacular anniversary dinner here with my boyfriend. Was so happy to find a great place with good gluten free/allergen friendly options that didn’t seem to sacrifice flavor for safety. Our server recommended the Jasmine Gimlet which I usually wouldn’t go for but it was delicious, so much body and flavor. I could have had a whole pitcher. The Yuzu Pisco Sour is also another great option. Kind of irrelevant but My only note is that I felt the lights could have been a little dimmer lol. I will definitely be coming back here soon. Note that this place has a 22% service charge retained fully by the company, which I think is great if the employees are paid well!!

Went to Revel in Fremont for a birthday dinner. It was my first time, and I was Beyond impressed. Location is Awesome, right in Fremont. Parking is easy with street and lot parking. The staff and ambiance were Great and the food was Delicious! I will be back soon!

We came for dinner and sat on the chef seats. The food was delicious and the atmosphere friendly. The meat dishes were the best, the tuna was a little overpowered by spices and the chocolate cake was fantastic. The service was a little flakey but friendly. All and all a good experience. We would definitely come back again.

Delicious fusion Korean food! Fantastic for sharing, medium sized portions just enough to try lots of dishes. Great flavors. A little spicier than I expected but the flavors were worth it.

So pleasantly surprised. Noticed that the average review was 4.3, but I disagree completely with that. This was easily a 4.8-5. service was a little off, but the food and drinks were amazing. Let's begin with the drinks. The bartender is not afraid to make a good strong drink. Thank you to that person. I had the Madame Rue and my husband had the Fur rendezvous old-fashion. Both were excellent. We were part of a group so we enjoyed many dishes. My favorite was the salt and pepper brussel sprouts followed by the octopus and short rib wontons. We didn't have dessert so you won't see any pictures of sweets. In total we had 9 dishes. Everything was amazing and all dishes had different flavors. We will be back.

We came here after we tried their sister restaurant Joule. We found the food creative and tasty, the ambiance airy and casual, and the service very attentive and smooth. We got shared wonton short ribs which was super good and well seasoned, the halibut which beat my expectations (im not a cooked fish type of gal). The halibut dish has a tasty sauce, well cooked halibut, several layers of texture (crunchy), and different taste profiles (ginger was coming through making it iso fresh). We also got the cucumber salad which was refreshing, and finally, the tuna plate. The tuna was fatty and tender, and very delicious. We finished with a miso a la mode, a creative and light dessert. Overall, the check came down to $150 for 3 drinks and several shared plates. We absolutely loved this place and i will go back to try other things.

This place is excellent. Totally see how it made top 10 Korean restaurants in Seattle. The dishes are rich without being overpowering and the portion sizes are Goldilocks. My girlfriend and I ordered three dishes and shared everything which turned out to be a really smart idea. One of the best restaurants I've been to recently.

Wonderful! I was able to snag a table as a walk in and I had high hopes. With the kitchen open in front of everyone, the food has to match the showmanship. I stumbled in during Restaurant Week and the 3 courses were delightful. I started with the short rib wontons and they were bite-sized pops of spice and warmth. The chili oil they bathe in was deliciously balanced. I recommend adding a bit of the Tamari for a bit of sweetness. The main was the braised pork collar. Served with charred cabbage and apples, the bitter crunch and sweetness stood up to the extremely tender pork. The dish overall screamed fresh, but homey. Last came the persimmons with brown sugar boba and a ginger, almost flan-like pudding. I would happily dive into the regular menu sometime soon.

BLUF: Kick ass asian bistro with out of this world dumplings, noodles, and other shareable dishes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Been meaning to hit this place up for a while now. It was everything it had been raved up to be! The dumplings were incredible. Homemade to order, delicious fillings with great sauces and seared extra crispy on the flat top. The noodles were probably our table’s favorite. The rice bowl had well cooked short ribs, and amazing daikon kimchi but overall the most boring dish. The pancakes were great, especially the “everything bagel” pancake spin on the NY bagel inspired by the Jewish chef working there. Our server was especially helpful and the overall service was spectacular. Food came out quickly, especially since we ordered dish by dish. We loved the cocktails as well. Overall it was a great dinner and we will happily return!

My husband and I visited Revel for dinner one night while on vacation in Seattle and everything was fantastic! We started with the short rib wontons, which featured tender meat and a little spice from the chili oil. For our mains, we shared the Dungeness crab noodles (the noodles were homemade) with red curry and creme fraiche. We also had the sticky gochujang ribs - which were out of this world good. The glaze on the ribs had so much flavor, they were definitely on the spicy side so if you're sensitive to that just be aware, but we thought the amount of spice was perfect. For dessert, we shared the chocolate torte and the lemon blueberry cake - both were phenomenal! I also had Madame Rue cocktail and my husband had a Negroni and we loved both. Our server was very friendly/attentive and gave great recommendations. I'd happily return to Revel in the future.

This place was recommended to us by our friends and it lived up and exceeded our expectations. It has a very inviting atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy your meal. The food was amazing when it comes to its presentation as well as its taste. This place made out “favorite eats” list and we will be glad to be back.

Everyone is always looking for the new thing (same) and sometimes we forget about the long-standing spots, literally walking past them on multiple occasions without a thought. Finally, I stopped back into Revel and wow, what a meal! I didn't have a reservation but was able to get the last indoor table for two at roughly 7:00 on a Friday. The service was great... friendly, quick and not overbearing. The cocktails were perfect. But wow, the food. We started with the winter salad with black lentils, grapefruit and orange alongside the seasonal kimchi with carrots and cauliflower - both were excellent. Then there was this octopus dish on the menu which wasn't online, a very pleasant surprise. It was cooked perfectly and served alongside a sauce with black currants. Show stopper. We had this course alongside the short rib wontons with chili oil. So good. I might stop back by just for these two items alone. Lastly we finished with the dungeness crab noodle with seaweed, red curry and crème fraiche. Add a few drops of the in-house gochujang hot sauce to add a little kick. So good and perfect on a cold night. Overall just an exceptional meal. Let's hear it for the restaurants who are still putting out incredible food after many years. If you haven't been to Revel, correct that soon!

Great place for Korean comfort food! My favorite was the crab noodles! So flavorful, The crab went so well with the noodles! My second favorite was the rice cakes, some of the rice cakes were a little crispy but overall it was very flavorful! The rice cakes was not too spicy but it did have a kick to it. The wontons were very good and again was not too spicy. The kimchi pancakes was my least favorite, it was very different from any Korean pancake I had before though. Overall I had a great time here and would come back and recommend it to others.

The food here was really amazing. I ordered trout which is phenomenal. My husband ordered BBQ chicken, the green sauce is great. We sat right to the grill station. The guy was grilling tirelessly all the time which we felt like we were looking at some show. Highly recommend!

Went there as a group of 3 on a Friday night without a reservation. Luckily they had a walk in table available. We got a mix of dishes to share and plenty of cocktails and the bill came up to $70 per person which I thought was good given the quality of the food and drinks. I particularly loved the rice cakes and the coconut cheesecake. I'd definitely return next time I'm in Seattle!

Loved the place and that food, was really delicious. And would love to go again. Their shortrib and fish was bomb.

What a great restaurant. Came here after eating at Joule and being obsessed, all to find out they had a sister restaurant. The rice cakes are a must. No argument. And we also had the lumpia as well as some cocktails. All was superb. Indoor and outdoor dining. Outdoor is covered and had heating when we went.

My first time back at Revel in their new location. The food was as good as I remembered it - actually, probably better! So many more gluten free options than before because they switched to using tamari. That meant I finally got to enjoy the cured egg yolk in the tuna and short rib rice bowls! Kimchi pancake was 👩🏻‍🍳🤌🏼 and of course the fennel kimchi is amazing. And the ribeye had to be one of the highlights - so delicious and tender. Dessert was gluten free mochi cake with peanut butter caramel. Very delicious. Will definitely be back! Outdoor seating with heaters was nice - only complaint is at 9pm sharp they shut the heaters off, I guess as a signal that the night was over 😑

Food was delicious and staff was attentive. I loved how the staff educated us on the menu and sauces. The short ribs were my fave along with the crab noodles. Will def be coming back. Yum!

While visiting my friends in Seattle, they took me here before my flight back home. It was a pretty awesome finish to an amazing adventure. I highly recommend the meat sampler which I am told changes up every now and then. At the time, they had a pork sampler with meat taken from all the different parts. Nom!

Another tasty meal at Revel. We are in the outdoor section, a perfect summer evening spot. Food highlights included the short rib wontons, the rice cakes, and the newly added spicy ribs. Always a fan of the simple Chinese broccoli too. We found the Halibut a little meager for the price, though subtle and tasty.

What a gem! We used to go to the original revel . And It took us a good three years to go back to their new spot ( go figure) , the patio is gorgeous and the food is still amazing , Kimshi pancake is absolutely delicious , as well as everything else on the menu ).

Had the pork belly pancakes, short rib dumplings, and Dungeness crab noodles. The dumplings were exceptional, especially with the variety of sauces, and the noodles very good. Cool vibe and good service. Nicely played.

Excellent service on the weekends. Space feels high class yet casual with consistently fresh ingredients. The cocktail menu is quite sugary sweet unfortunately.

amazing once again. you know it's good when you sit and contemplate how they make it. crab was a bit salty but fried chicken 10/10 and chinese broccoli was surprisingly flavorly

Had an interesting and enjoyable meal here of mostly small plates. Inventive and thoughtful menu. We ordered too much - 5 small plates would have been a hearty meal for the two of us. Easy to get in during Fremont Hour (happy hour). The kimchi pancake was my favorite.

S
Sameet Sapra

The Sunday night dinner felt like a home cooked meal in a Korean grandmas home - a large quantity of healthy veggies, rice, stewed chicken. The chicken stew was really quite tasty and the highlight of the meal, the rest was excellent but also a bit forgettable.

As a huge fan of Joule, I've been excited to try Revel for a while and I finally had the opportunity this last weekend. Overall, it's good, not great. The service is okay, a bit awkward for me compared to Joule which has a much more inviting and helpful atmosphere. The short rib wontons tasted more like ground beef imo. They didn't have the rich beefy flavor I expected from short rib. The kimchi pancake was the standout for me and was absolutely delicious. Not authentic Korean by any means but it really is a fantastic fusion dish! The galbi short rib plate(not pictured) was very nice and charred as it should be. Some super tender cuts and some tough and some uncomfortably chewy cuts. Bonus points because they leave meat on the bone for that classic chewy, close to the bone gristle. Lastly, the Jaengban noodles were refreshing! These were more on the authentic Korean side for me with the exception of the type of noodles which were closer to spaghetti than anything I expected. The sauce is a simple gochujang/sesame base. Really nice and light. I see some reviews mentioning that the portion sizes for the price are too small. No idea what these people are talking about, go to a diner(?)

Came here on a weeknight for my birthday celebration. Overall great experience! Staff were friendly and service was pretty quick. All the drinks were interesting and good, not too juicy and boozy enough, great mocktail options. Definitely recommend the wontons and octopus - octopus was served with just the right chewiness, their purple potato lumpia was amazingly soft (kind of a mushy texture) on the inside and crispy on the outside, I loved it! I thought the beef tataki with the nuts and miso cod were well crafted and tasty too. I would pass on the Chinese broccoli (a little overcooked/kind of bland) but that was the only thing I didn't like. Also, they allow you to bring cakes for a small service fee, and they lit the candles and cut it really nicely for us.

N

Went there with my colleagues. The vibe of the restaurant is really nice. We ordered a couple of dishes! We shared octopus, wontons and tofu. The octopus and wontons are recommended! The octopus is tender and the wontons are nicely seasoned. The tofu is not my fav since it’s a bit blend to my taste. For main course I ordered Dungeness crab noodle which is creamy and scrumptious. I would highly recommend it!

TL;DR: Great food, great service, decent prices, stupid additional surcharge fees… I went today for the first time. Without a reservation and we were lucky to get a table, I recommend to get a reservation before coming. Moving into the food, really good! Everything was delicious! We ordered a few dishes to share with the table. My favorite was the rice cakes and the short beef wonton! One thing I didn’t like. Hence the 4 star, is this new “ 4% surcharge to the 100% bill the restaurant will keep and not share with employees” that goes on top of the tip… I don’t understand why the restaurants don’t want to pay their workers… find this a bit outrageous..

Great spot in Fremont area. Variety of food options, Gluten free options which is great! The bartender was super friendly and made sure to keep checking up on me as I ordered and ate. Thanks mate The guy at the door though, I was standing there waiting to be seated, was greeted with "ah, excuse me can u help you?", I think he must've thought I was lost or something lol. I'm obviously waiting to be taken to a table...

Fantastic service. I was here on Halloween. Everyone is very friendly and dressed in tacos, mario etc, very cute and friendly. There are Outdoor seats. Half of it have fireplace to keep you warm. We sat indoor. Very good atmosphere. Good music with good volume. Restaurant week menu and 2 items on regular menu. Restatement week menu. The short rib wonton is awesome, even better than ding tai feng in my opinion. The kimchi pancake is too salty for me, guess it’s because they have lots of Kimchee in the cake. The short rib race cake is tasty, but had only 5 small short ribs in.. veggie looks like kale. I have invisilign, Chewing is a bit hard for me. But it’s tasty and healthy. Dessert I picked the seasonal pear cake. I honestly personally did not like it though I think it’s freshly made. But I used the cake base and made a Halloween face. Made it un wasted lol. Black cod from regular menu taste GREAT. I wish there are more to eat lol. Black cod itself is expensive. It’s 24 for the dish , still good value with great test. Oh, Kimchi cake Is from regular Menu.

I get that it’s not a cheap place. But for the price they are charging, the portions are insanely small especially for the appetizers. And it’s not any mind blowing good either. But the dessert are cheap and great. Especially the cheesecake. Also they add 22% service charge. Cool no problem. But for 22% extra charge, I don't want to be flagging down our server for everytime we need her. We also got the wrong check with double charges at the end. Thank god we checked

We came during the restaurant week. The appetizers were good. The Korean pork dish was tasty and tender. The albacore rice bowl was very disappointing - it’s super over cooked in the outside. The desserts were ok, a tad too sweet

Z
ZihSiang Syu

Overall it is fine. The steak and short ribs are good, but other dishes are not my type, hard for me to say I like it. Cocktails are also not my type, they are a little too creative and hence hard to follow…

E
Elezar Kenig

Nothing here was bad, just nothing blew me away. I felt like they were a bit heavy handed with the cilantro, which I get most people like but I felt it overpowered things. The lumpia were crispy, dumplings were good, eggplant cooked well, short rib not over done, but at the end it just felt too expensive for the overall quality and inventiveness of the dishes. I think my favorite was the dessert, horchata ice cream with poached pear. The cocktails were average, not as well balanced as they could be (Manhattan) or too sweet/sour (can't remember the name but it had acidified orange juice)

C
Cz

Ordered the Chinese brocolli, short rib wonton, mushroom rice and coconut cheesecake. 1. Mushroom rice had white clumps of rice here and there. Soy flavor was good but oily. It came in a hot sizzler pan but it wasn't that hot. It had chrysanthemum leaves which I think went well. Not enough mushrooms, totally like 4 pieces of oyster mushrooms maybe. Short rib wonton was good, juicy meat and chilli oil went well. Yuzu caramel is goated, esp loved the spice factor in the mango jam on top. Goes great w the coconuts and the creamcheese. The crunch in the bottom gives a great texture. Would definitely come for just this next time.

I’m Korean and a big fan of Anthony Bourdain, so naturally I was super excited to try Revel, but was left with disappointments The food here isn’t really fusion enough to call it fusion Korean food, but also didn’t really meet the standards of being good Korean food. All in all, it was mediocre and not worth the hype. The drinks were great tho

C
Camellia

This is the first time I’ve written a negative long review based on food quality, but I feel it’s necessary. Revel had been on my bucket list for a long time, so I had really high expectations, but I was extremely disappointed. Honestly, this was the worst Korean food I’ve ever had. They were offering a special Korean street food menu, so we tried the Guided Tour, which included all eight dishes. I was really surprised to find all of the dishes underwhelming. The pancake and mandu lacked flavor, the tteokbokki tasted worse than some pre-packaged versions from H Mart, and the kimbap, kimari, and fried chicken were at best “not too bad”, with very small portions. The bibimbap (top dish in the second photo) had no protein, just bean sprouts and a lot of leafy vegetables that seemed out of balance, and the sauce was weirdly sour. The hotteok was unusually thin and tasted worse than what you can buy at an Asian supermarket. We also got the banana milk makgeolli, which tasted like something poured straight from a store-bought bottle, and it was only about 8-10oz for $22. On top of that, there’s a mandatory 22% service charge, and the service was nothing special. Our waiter mostly just took our order and brought out the dishes. The 3 of us ended up paying $136 ($183 with tax and tip) for food that ranged from mediocre home-cooked quality to pre-packaged supermarket taste. There are far better, cheaper, and more authentic Korean restaurants in Seattle. I would not recommend Revel.

C
Cassie Carter

The food is always fantastic here, but I have been a longtime fan of this restaurant since 2017, and I have noticed that the portions have been getting smaller and smaller here. Also, the cocktails were crazy overpriced. I work in the industry so I know what things typically cost. I ordered an old fashioned with Suntory Toki whiskey which was listed on the Captain’s List for 10$. Now I understand, as a bartender, it is customary for bars to add a small up charge for a cocktail, usually between $2 to $6 dollars. Revel charges 9$ to add bitter and simple syrup to whiskey! This just feels excessive to charge 19$ for a drink that should have been approximately 14$. The same thing was done to my girlfriend’s drink, it was a 12$ up charge. Not to mention that they have instituted a 22% “service charge” this is not considered a tip, and the server only receives 14% of this fee. The whole experience felt very shady, I don’t mind splurging on great food, and a great experience, while also taking care of my server, but this simply felt like I was being taken advantage of. I don’t care how good the food is I will never be back here since my trust in this establishment has been eroded. Really disappointed in this business, since it used to be one of my favorite places. Terrible value for such mediocre experience

N
Nestor Voronka

We love Joule, so we thought we'd try Revel. Short rib wontons - amazing. braided cod - solid. Read about Dungeness crab noodle in Yang's cookbook and was tasted very nice, but thought something was missing. It was the lumps of crabmeat one sees in photos and that are described in the cookbook. I will skip it next time... Came back in 2023 and it was just ok. Chinese broccoli eh. Short rib wontons yummy. Octopus special and spice rice cakes were short on actual seafood. Again, skip Revel, just go to Joule.

M
Miguel Almeida

22% mandatory service charge is added to your bill - if you want to pay employee living wages, I'm all for that and I do tip well, but management should reflect the right prices for services/products in the menu prices. seems like shady business practices. expected a lot more for this service fee - plain vanilla to mediocre service. Not a place to go back to.

I went here with a group of 6 for a birthday celebration. From all the reviews, we were very excited to taste the food and drinks to help celebrate a special occasion. What a disappointment. They were full, but not crowded. The food was just ok and portions were on the smaller side. Maybe the good reviews were from when they first opened? We all ordered drinks, but the bartender was overwhelmed. I think he was new or filling in and the drinks were ok, but not that good and took a long time. Even though the food and drink were not what we were hoping, it could have still been a good experience if it was not for the service. Our group often dines out together and often talk and engage with the service teams because we know and appreciate how hard they work. But this staff was having a bad ay or something. There was a brunette supervisor that was not only rude, but aggressive towards our party. Our female server was more involved with herself and her co-workers and did not seem like she wanted to be at work. I get this and we all have a bad day here and there, but this server and supervisor were outwardly rude and really ruined a happy celebration we were attempting. Will not return here or ever recommend them because of this supervisor and server.
