We went for our anniversary dinner and everyone at That’s Amore made our night incredibly special! We were greeted with a happy anniversary right at the start! Everything was delicious - I had the crab pappardelle (one of the evening’s specials - highly recommend) and it had incredible richness. Our dessert (which was complimentary and one of the best Tiramisu’s I have enjoyed) even had a sweet anniversary note included! Our server was also incredibly welcoming, and was very insightful about recommendations! Would definitely come again! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

Everything about this restaurant is perfect! The food, atmosphere, views; everything. I got the Chicken Parmesan and it was absolutely incredible. I also tried some of the pork that my friend ordered, and it was so, so good. That pork was the best I've ever had, and so much better than pork at most specialty BBQ restaurants I've been to. The desserts were top notch as well. Very rarely can I find a restaurant that does everything perfectly, but Thats Amore is one of them.

Wow, the food was on point! Salmon perfectly cooked, all pastas al dente and delicious, salt-a-holics will have to ask for salt, service was polite but SLOW. Also, watch your receipt, 20% tip was added to total for a 4 top. Excellent drinks and we were all so satisfied without even looking at the desert menu. This place is small and gets full quickly. Loved it!!

If we could give it 10 stars we would have! From the greeting, ambiance, food and service this restaurant is exquisite! The presentation of the food matched the flavor and can be described no other way than flavorful and devine! The locals may know of this place but we are considering it the best kept secret for travelers!

I’m in town for business, and was looking for a nice restaurant to treat myself. That’s Amore Italian Cafe was the perfect choice! If you’re a bourbon drinker definitely get the “Not so Old Fashioned.” For food, I started with their bread and three compound butters, all of which were delicious! They had a special on mussels which were perfectly cooked and the broth was amazing, the truffle compound butter is also delicious to add to the broth. For my main, I went with the pork belly which was on another level, it just needed a splash of acid or touch of salt for the tartness of the cherry demi. I took the tiramisu to-go and wasn’t disappointed. The ambiance and view over the city is a perfect complement to the food!

Very casual place. We were (literally) sitting on the curb opposite the front door of the restaurant. The sidewalk was between us and the row of tables outside the front door. I liked that ambiance, especially after the streak of hot days. Their wine menu had decent local vintages and a couple of lesser known Italian ones. The specials menu looked well-constructed, as is the regular menu. I loved their homemade egg pastas, and their rye bread is silky and soft. The wild boar ragu was a pretty rich ragù with four mushrooms and tasted like they had added a little meat during the long cooking and then a bit of shredded meat to bulk it up for a thicker consistency. It was pretty good, but a bit drier in flavor than a typical ragu. They must have used leaner meat. My husband ordered the classic Chicken Marsala and praised it as better than most he has had in a long time. Their portions were not overly generous, but just right. We finished with limoncello cheesecake, which I cannot recommend more. I think the one addition that they can have on their menu—especially in one of Seattle’s central neighborhoods—is a good, solid vegan option. For the style that their kitchen seems to cook with, I would think a white wine mushroom risotto with shallots, romanesco and a bitter green, like escarole or arugula, would fit the bill. Seriously, with the volume of nutty, flaky fruitiness here in Seattle, an actual vegan entree—not just an entree made vegan with vegan substitutes—should be a requirement. My vegan friend was not all that impressed, even as we were slurping down our dinner with gusto. His meal was rife with red chili flakes, which I have found to be a big no-no with most lifelong vegans I know, and probably was closer to a stir fry than an Italian dish. (Oh well. Next time maybe.) I’d go back. Definitely. And I wouldn’t feel awkward bringing friends from Italy with me for some darn good new American Italian cuisine.

Happened upon this place off of 31st Avenue in Seattle. We always enjoy exploring new Italian restaurants and this small and quaint destination did not disappoint. The featured item was a dungeness crab pappardelle, and it was nothing short of absolutely delicious. The salad with prawns was very well prepared and the prawns were of authentic taste/flavor, which is rare to experience nowadays. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the service was extremely prompt, friendly and very professional.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! Amazing views, the best food, and the best wait staff. We even had our wedding rehearsal here and they made everything so incredibly special. Definitely try the Dungeness crab pasta! We most recently went for Valentine’s Day and everything was perfect.

A delightful neighborhood gem. The energy of the restaurant was buzzing and every table was full on a Monday night. Definitely recommend reservations. The Bruschetta and Fungo Davi were wonderful starters. Guy recommended several popular dishes, but when pressed on what he would want his mother to try he responded with the Rigatoni, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I chose the Linguine which paired wonderfully with the Sauvignon Blanc.

07/17/2022: This is a great find (thanks Mark & Tiff)! It's a little neighborhood restaurant in a great area that has beautiful views of downtown Seattle. The owners and the staff are welcoming and very personable, and we enjoyed them a lot. The food was phenomenal! We started with drinks - the Garibaldi, a Classic Negroni, and the Boulevardier. We ordered the Amore Special pizza, the Amore Salad, and the Guy's-pachio. Every dish tasted so good! Our entrees were the Dungeness crab parpadelle, the Bucatini Carbonara, and the Meatball Stracci. Each pasta dish was absolutely delicious... best pastas I've every had! For dessert, we had the cannolis, chocolate ganache, and the affogato. Again, delicious!!! If you're ever in Seattle, look for this gem! It will not disappoint. Let Guy and David take care of you and you will be taken on a wonderful Italian food-venture!

My husband and I went here on our anniversary weekend trip. We were going to a show in the neighborhood, and decided to stop in for dinner. By far, the BEST Italian food I have ever had!! We ordered the bread and butter 🤤 so delicious!! We had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The chicken was so incredibly juicy and the sauce was flavorful without being bland. The owner was incredibly friendly. He was personable and interactive, and let’s not forget fashionable 😅 we were blown away by his hospitality. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Nice neighborhood Italian restaurant with excellent service, a great menu and fun Italian cocktails. I loved my Spritz with Lambrusco and grapefruit. Had a hard time choosing between pasta, pizza or entree but was happy with my choice to order chicken marsala. Loved that it was served with veggies.

We had a 9pm Valentine’s seating at That’s Amore! We were served by the incredible Gabriella that guided us through the menu and made sure our glasses were filled, our silverware fresh, and our table clean! Bonus: We were given the table my partner requested with a beautiful nighttime view of the city. We started with the risotto cakes which were fried to PERFECTION! I wish I had remembered to add crispy pancetta on top, but will definitely returning and will do so next time! We split the rolls that came with olive butter, a lemon/horseradish butter, and lobster butter. Loved how they incorporated the specialty butters into the courses, it was a glimpse of what was to come! The olive butter is worth its hype- such a unique blend of flavors. We split the carbonara, tuscan pork and tenderloin of beef special. THE TENDERLOIN OF BEEF WAS TO DIE FOR!!!! I am so bummed it’s a special because anyone who does not try it is really missing out. The beef was cooked to perfection and dressed in a creamy lobster butter. Each bite was topped with lobster meat and accompanied by a gorgeous truffle mashed potato. I found myself dipping my bread in the butter at the end of the meal because I could not get enough. With all of the red meat we ordered, the carbonara offered a balance. Additionally, the bathrooms were clean, the food came out at a perfect pace, and we found the staff to be attentive. It was the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s!

We had an amazing experience there. The atmosphere and the service was fantastic. The only thing I wish they did is make their pasta fresh. It would make the dishes great to outstanding.

My fiancé and I stopped in here this past weekend for a glass of wine and were very warmly welcomed by our server who brought us some great Sangiovese and informed us that the menu is made-to-order so they could easily accommodate a vegan request. We had dinner plans elsewhere but ordered some bruschetta with our wine and it was delicious! So fresh! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and to gladly give this lovely little restaurant our business again. Thanks for the great service! PS- the outdoor seating in front is great, but the view from windows at the back of the restaurant is amazing too! Can’t go wrong!

I've gone here several times this year alone and will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this small quaint place. They have some of the best Italian food I've had. It's all fresh homemade (they have no freezer) with new daily specials that are always different with a tiramisu to die for! I recently visited them for my birthday and had a great experience. My server was amazing as she helped me pick out a glass a wine allowing me to taste a few selections, she replaced an ingredient in my dish with no hassle after I told her I wasn't a fan (we had a good laugh about it) and to top the whole night off she sent me home with an additional piece of tiramisu which she took off our bill in honor of my birthday🎂 **The only down side of the whole night was my boyfriend's seafood was overcooked**

What do I really need to say about this place? Amazing food, super friendly staff, and an absolutely unbelievable view. Me and my friends celebrated my bachelorette party here, and I can't think of a better place. Do yourself a favor when you eat here, get dessert. Life is short, and oh man it's worth it! ❤

Came to see my son at the Naval base of kitsap walked around Seattle downtown and could not get a reservation which intern we saw this place outside of town which was fabulous highly recommended from other reviews. First of all great views of the skyline of Seattle from this restaurant. The gentleman that sat us which I believe is the manager was very Accommodating , and just a good dude. We had the bruschetta and the risotto cakes for appetizers which were yummy. I had a special with Dungeness crab pasta which was really good and fresh everybody enjoyed their dinner plates and more importantly Gabi our waitress is a class act and outside the food would be the reason why I would want to go back and venture out to this joyful restaurant for her welcomeness. Wish we could see her smile without these masks 😷. Bon appétit and enjoy.

The food is fantastic and the service was wonderful. Everything is homemade. We had the pizza and the spicy sausage was some of the best we’ve had. The view is amazing. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant is spectacular! My visit was the perfect example of when superior service and exceptional food comes together to create a one of a kind experience! If you want an authentic italian restaurant experience, this is the place for you! I am ecstatic about my dining experience! Enjoy!

We have been coming to That's Amore for many years and have nothing but incredible things to say about the people and the food. Tonight I wandered up for dinner on my own and they just happened to have a special that I've not had before; chicken and mushroom risotto. I've always truly enjoyed the food, but this was probably one of THE best dishes that I've had here. Now under new ownership, Guy Devillier and David Hoefer along with executive chef Richard Holdridge have started offering some truly incredible dishes and tonight was no exception. Do yourself a favor and head over to enjoy an awesome dinner experience all while taking in the breathtaking views.

Everything about That’s Amore is amazing! The view they have of the Seattle skyline is gorgeous. The staff is amazing, everyone was so kind and attentive. Most importantly the food is “chef’s kiss” delicious! I had the bread and caesar salad for an appetizer. Lasagna pictured below for my entree. And for dessert, tiramisu. Every single thing was amazing. They make all their food from scratch and you can taste the difference that makes. I highly recommend coming here!

Great neighborhood spot. If I lived nearby, I'd be here regularly. Pasta with crab was amazing, as was the focaccia and cannoli. I will be back soon!

Love this neighborhood gem- they have the best tiramisu I’ve ever had, and their specials are so tasty and unique. Only advice I’d give to them is to serve their wine in wine glasses instead of water glasses :)

Immaculate. Went alone on a whim and food near by tag on Google and was blown away. View is great, staff so great and friendly. Went on and got both specials for appetizers, loved both. Also got dessert and another drink because I loved it so much. Also the music was on point ✨

What a beautiful little local spot! It was our first time in (new to the neighborhood). Staff were exceptionally welcoming and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. Food is fresh, made with love and a great deal of care, and we will definitely be back!

This is the perfect place to come with someone you love. From the appetizer to the dessert, and between vegetarian and non-veg dishes, everything exceeded our expectations. We tried the Valentine's day menu (pear ravioli, crab pasta) and normal menu (vegetarian pizza, tiramisu). We also ordered two drinks, which wasn't the star of the night, but it set a good atmosphere. I also loved the decor and ambience of the place. But I'm a foodie, so I live and breathe for the food - which The Amore absolutely delivered. If you want to make your loved ones happy, bring them here.

We celebrated our anniversary at That’s Amore Italian Café and had a wonderful experience. The staff made us feel special from the moment we walked in, wishing us a happy anniversary several times. We got a great table with a beautiful view, they even surprised us with a complimentary dessert, and every dish was delicious. My husband loved his chicken Parmesan and my pork belly was incredible. Highly recommend!

We’ve been meaning to try this place since we moved to the area. It was awesome. The staff, cocktails, food, & vibe. All amazing. They also have some dinner options for kids and can’t wait to come back with them. Such a gem in our neighborhood.

I have been there again today and wanted to update the name of Jenna who is very good at vegetarian recommendations. The chefs special butternut squash ravioli was so delicious today. One of my favorite spots ever. I appreciate how they customize dishes to fit dietary restrictions. Jenna is vegetarian herself and suggests beautiful additions to dishes. I especially like penne special and linguine in pasta. Bruschetta and Caprese are my all time favorites here. Balsamic Vinegar adds to their taste. Sometimes they have vegetarian chef specials as well. I really like to emphasize how you will feel the taste of pastas without cheese overload here. It feels so fresh and filling. I have been there over 7 times till now.

Great place, great service. Our waiter was very nice on a busy day like Feb 14th. Food though, I don't know seemed a bit overpriced. I got the Penne Specialli, the pasta was aldenete, but it was so watery like a lot. The flavor was not rich and deep, my partner got the Tortellini, which was better but for the portion sizes, the food is definitely overpriced. The tiramisu though, was phenomenal. Very creamy and soft , even the lady fingers were soaked well. Would recommend if you're there for the cute and cozy vibes but not for the food.

That’s Amore is a very good Italian Restaurant. The view of Seattle from the restaurant is incredible. This is a great place to visit for a date or special. We ordered the bread and butter (doesn’t come with the meal) and Amore salad for appetizers, and linguini and Chicken Parmesan for entrees. The bread and butter was exceptional, it came with 3 unique butters that were infused with herbs and vegetables. The salad was very good, and had a great balance of flavors. We enjoyed the entrees, but the entrees had a few minor issues. The linguini was covered in a lemon sauce. The lemon was a little overpowering in the sauce, that it took away from the other ingredients in the dish. I added black pepper to the dish which neutralized the flavor and balanced the dish. The Chicken Parmesan was slightly overcooked, but the entree had good flavor. Aside from the few missteps in our entrees, the meal was amazing, and the ambience at this restaurant is unmatched. I would definitely visit again.

Thats Amore is an Italian restaurant nestled in the neighborhood close to Leschi and Central District. Street parking here can be tough at times. There is about a dozen tables inside and a couple outside, so it's pretty intimate. Their staff is friendly and always walking around to help. Their menu is a good size, with some daily specials that usually aren't on there. The portions are smaller, typical to most Italian style restaurant trying to impress. The cost per portion is just too high for me. Taste wise it's hit or miss, the caesar salad was too lightly dressed and off, but the salumi plate was good. Brushetta was missing a few things taste-wise and the pasta sauces were missing salt but have a nutty flavor (sort of nutmeg), which stands out. Overall I'd say the experience is nice but the food just misses the mark for me. A few tweaks here and there would put them to 4, maybe 5 stars for food.

We enjoyed our time together. We were grateful we got accepted without a reservation. After a long flight from NC the day before we explored Tacoma and landed here.. Food was about a 4.3. I had a type of crab pasta crab tortellini, I believe. It was very strong in smell. Haven’t had that before in a crab dish. I would probably order something else next time. I wasn’t crazy about it especially for the price, but I’m not one to complain. Overall it has a wonderful view and a very relaxing, dim lit, ambience. Do be prepared to be pay 20% gratuity. I thought this was different but understood in today’s industry…

We stopped going here years ago during the second owner era. Well the current owner has restored its greatness. Still great view of Seattle. Nice menu selections and wines.

Family style place. The chicken Parm was a little too spicy for me. The pork belly was excellent! Service very friendly. It’s busy! MKe a reservation!

A
Alex Grenier

Great food and experience! Only have to knock the restaurant for 20% auto-gratuity for party of 2. I was probably going to tip that much anyways but it leaves the customer with bad taste in their mouth when it’s not their choice.

Arrived just after opening and was asked if I had a reservation. I said, 'no,' not realizing my friend had made one and was shown to a 4-top by the window and told we would have to finish by 7 PM to accommodate a reservation, which would have been a non-issue except the place was empty. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. Food was fine. Three more parties arrived while we dined and when we left, most of the tables were still unfilled.

Opening with a statement: I think we missed the heyday of this place, or we came on an off night. I've been wanting to try this place since we discovered it several months ago, with the wild boar ragu being quite appealing on their menu, so made a 5 PM Sunday evening reservation for our 10th wedding anniversary. Temperature check and vax card check was appreciated. Cute place, with a nice view of the downtown Seattle skyline. Noise level towards the end of our meal got to a point where conversation with my wife was frequently punctuated with "WHAT"; not a good date night destination. I've never been to an Italian restaurant that didn't provide bread, thought that was quite odd, given the number of positive reviews regarding the bread. Seattle food waste/compost laws? Rundown of the dishes: Salumi plate: Interesting mix, but not much of a theme beyond "Italian things on a plate". Waitress didn't provide a rundown of what we were offered, but was a fine journey by ourselves. Steak florentine: The wild boar ragu listed on the menu is what pulled me in, however the steak florentine listed on the specials sheet seemed appealing. The steak was everything you don't want a steak to be: thin, tough, and gray inside and out despite asking for medium rare. Steak had very little color on the outside, yet was cooked through, that's just how thin it was. Chicken marsala: Surprisingly good, relative to my steak. Great flavor with the sauce and just enough savory flavor from the mushrooms without being boring. Portion size was correct. Limoncello cheesecake: a light and delicately-flavored cheesecake ruined by the harshness of the strawberry/rhubarb compote. I'd get that compote on the side and just put the smallest dabs, if any at all, on every bite. Tiramisu: Hands down, the best tiramisu I've had in Seattle yet. The issues with a lot of tiramisu is that they're just too "wet", this one was fantastically moist without being too wet. We'll probably give it another try in the future, stick with their regular menu, and will update this review accordingly. Hopefully we can try the bread.

Overrated for the price. Service was subpar and atmosphere was mixed. - The food was pretty good, but certainly not good enough to justify the high prices. You can get better for less at Mioposto. Keep in mind there is a compulsory 20% service tip added to the bill outright. - Service was just ok. The staff were nice of course, just awkward at times. Our server seemed intent on rushing from the table before asking relevant questions, and didn’t take ownership of a very long delay in our food. One dish literally came out over 20 mins before the others with nothing more than “sorry”, making for an awkward meal. They were, however, attentive with water carafes for the table, which can be rare sometimes. - The atmosphere was generally quiet. The bathrooms, though, were the most awkward. A curtain separates them from people eating their meals, and they were quite dirty. Overall this place felt like a small family restaurant trying to be upscale but not quite hitting the mark. I’d recommend going elsewhere if celebrating a special occasion.

Small and cozy restaurant with a dated decor on a street next to residential areas. The food was hit or miss with a disappointing bruschetta. My fettuccine alfredo with shrimp was good but my partner’s spaghetti bolognese was disappointing. My tiramisu was excellent but the cannoli was disappointing. Service is efficient but not friendly.

G
Gabby Petras

What could have been an excellent restaurant experience was diminished due to the service or lack there of by our server for the night. It started when asking about a drink from the menu, when I mentioned I didn't want the jalapeño she said why not, it's good. So that put me off. I don't want it because I just don't. I shouldn't have to explain why. I'm the one paying for it so I should get what my preference is not hers. We then ordered a few different starters. We ordered the bread with butter, the bruschetta, the cheese bread and the arugula salad. Of those all were very good (aside from the salad which in my opinion had too much dressing.) If that wasn't enough food we also got two entrees. The chicken Marsala wasn't anything to write home about. The Penne Special was the same. Nothing spectacular. The cannoli's on the other hand were amazing! The atmosphere and restaurant are nice. It was just the terrible service from the waitress that ruined it. She kept grabbing things without even asking if we were done. And then when I asked for boxes to put my leftovers in she insisted on doing it herself to only throw away part of my bread with butter THAT WE PAID FOR. I honestly don't think I'd ever come back to dine in at this restaurant. If you order just get it to go.

S
Sonny M

Seattle pizza isn't something to write home about, but the pizza from here is... for all the wrong reasons. I ordered a Margherita pie for 21 dollars, or so I thought. When I showed up to pick up the pie a 20% service charge which I was told was "a tip for the kitchen". Okay, if that's default it should just be part of the price. If it's a "tip" then it shouldn't be taxed, but sure enough it is bringing the total for a single Margherita pizza to $27.78... This would be fine if it served 2-4 people, but this is a personal pie. To add insult to injury, this was _not_ a margherita pie, rather a cheese pizza. Whatever, though, if the pizza is good it'll make up for it. Sadly, it isn't. The flavor is okay, but the texture is all wrong. The dough is basically bread, and lacks gluten development. I'd rate this 4 star if it was $15 (total), but the price tag is truly unbelievable.

Unprofessional staff, cmon your not at the beach dress nicely. Food was good but have had much better Italian in Seattle for cheaper.
