Food was good. Outdoor seating is covered. I enjoyed looking out the small bridge over the water
We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was very attentive. We ordered rings and shrooms appetizer which was perfect for 3 ppl and beverages
Great location and atmosphere. If you're in seguin do try this place. The burger was 10/10 mac n cheese not so much. Everyone else's dish looked amazing. Think ill try the s chicken fried steak next time. Service was friendly. Overall loved the experience.
Love this place! We haven't been here in years and I wanted to check it out again because I love the setting. The food was delicious. I had fried catfish, two huge filets. Really good. Several at our table had the meatloaf and they said it was amazing. The service was fast and friendly. The river is loelw, so the rapids were not dramatic, but they can't control that.
Here’s the updated 5-star review with your exact order worked in perfectly: The Power Plant Texas Grill – 5 STARS (and I’m already craving my next visit) Just when I thought burgers couldn’t get any better in Texas, The Power Plant in Seguin goes and proves me wrong, in the most delicious way possible. I ordered the Original Power Burger with grilled jalapeños added, and sweet mother of Texas, it was perfection on a brioche bun. Juicy, perfectly seasoned patty, melty American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomato, pickles, that addictive house Power Sauce, and those grilled jalapeños brought just the right smoky kick without overpowering anything. Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, anywhere. The hand-cut fries on the side were hot, crispy, and seasoned like they mean it. Ice-cold beer in frozen mugs (went with a local draft), stunning views of the Guadalupe River from the huge covered patio, string lights, breeze coming off the water… it’s the full Texas experience dialed up to 11. Service was fantastic, super friendly, fast, and on point. Everyone working there clearly loves the place, and you feel it. One tiny note for first-timers: the parking lot layout can be a little confusing when you’re new (a couple extra seconds to figure out where to park, but that’s literally the only thing that isn’t perfect. The Power Plant isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination. Amazing food, cold beer, killer vibes, and that Original Power Burger with grilled jalapeños is now my official go-to order. This place deserves every single one of its 5 stars (and probably a few more). I’ll be back, very soon!
Unique! My brother and I sat outside and looked at the Guadalupe River that once powered the plant. Some of the original massive machinery is still inside the restaurant. Food was good! We had the Frog Dip as an appetizer, because, well, Frog Dip?! And we each got a Rueben sandwich (excellent!), him with serious onion rings and me with homemade chips. Service was good too. And a big turtle sunbathed on a log in the water ehile we ste. Definitely an altogether cool experience! Price was worth the delicious lunch. Parking was...interesting, but not difficult. Better signage from road would have been helpful.
Wow! What cool spot to visit for a beverage and bite. We stopped in by chance and it was an absolute WIN! Everything from the decor, patio view to the amazing food and especially the service. Let me start by saying Brittany was our server and she was terrific, she's definitely an asset to the establishment. It's not her first rodeo for sure, she was attentive and intuitive of our needs. Brittany thank you again!! Drinks were immediately brought to the table along with our appetizer We highly recommend the frog dip and chips it was delicious. I decided on the powerhouse burger with grilled jalapeños and onions and a side of onion rings I'm not even kidding when I say it was probably one of the best burgers I've had, top five for sure. The onion rings were perfectly crispy, be sure to get the chipotle ranch for dipping My wife ate the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, another winner of her plate was the poblano cream corn for sure Everything was definitely priced reasonably So if you made it this far into the review you should 100% give them a try, be sure to sit in Britney's section tell her that Jimmy and Maura sent you. She won't have any idea who you're talking about but if enough people do it I'm sure she'll laugh and that's a good thing
Great food with even better ambiance. Had the chicken fried chicken with the optional queso and pico topping, as well as mashed potatoes and poblano cream corn which were all excellent. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was still juicy with a nice amount of crispiness which was complemented nicely by the queso. The cream corn was also a nice addition with a little twist on a typical classic. Weather and views were excellent for sitting outside and enjoying the riverfront in a cool historic setting.
Location is amazing with the view of the Guadalupe River and the rustic charm of the historic building. The interior has a great feel with the mix of old architecture and some funky decor. Menu has plenty to offer and I was very surprised with the high quality flavor and feel of every item. Ordered onion rings as an appetizer and they were cooked to perfection and the chipotle flavored dipping sauce was vibrant and creamy. Recommend the meatloaf as well with the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Every part of the plate was made hot and fresh. Seasonings were done amazingly and I loved every bite. I cannot recommend coming by here enough, it’s worth the drive and definitely worth the visit.
This place is awsome. The chicken fried steak was great, I had gravy, my wife had the queso-pico sauce. The poblano creamed corn was delicious, the smashed potatoes and gravy were great. The green beans, and rice were average. All in all, a great meal with all the attention to detail put in the steaks. We definitely will come back. The price was equal to the quality of the food. Good food ain't cheap, and cheap food ain't good. On another note, this place was a real power plant at one time, and the generator sets right in the dining room. The electric panels as well. It was an interesting place with lots to see.
We stumbled upon this place when we were traveling from San Antonio to Houston. The view is enticing, and the food is great. There's an option to sit at the covered patio overlooking the river. This is a family-kid friendly place. Very attentive staff. Overall, we are pleased with our meals and we enjoyed our lunch.
My wife and I had a great experience at Power Plant Texas Bar & Grill. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating they even cut and plated our chicken fried steak into two portions when we mentioned we were sharing. That level of service really stood out. The views of the Guadalupe River while dining were beautiful, and it was a treat to experience a piece of Seguin history in such a unique setting. The food? Texas-sized for sure. Appetizers could easily feed four, and everything we tried was full of flavor. If you’re in or around Seguin, this spot is a must visit. Great food, generous portions, amazing service, and unbeatable views.
Great food, best onion rings ever! Fresh food, prepared in kitchens by real people who come in early to make it-- no pre-made stuff here! Our server, Brayan, made sure everything was perfect from drinks to food. Historic place that was an old power plant with generators and power panels that add to a fun experience. But the food reigns supreme. Worth the drive from Canyon Lake. Happy hour Mon-Fri 3-6 pm.
What a fun relaxed and intriguing place to dine! This power plant restaurant uniquely sits on the Guadalupe river and still holds some of the original mechanics for the plant. There is a cute little dining area out over the water 💦 with a gorgeous waterfall below. The food was excellent. I’m had the meatloaf with coleslaw and poblano creamed corn and stuffed jalepeno poppers as an appetizer. It was all very good. I would recommend trying this place out!
We we arrived at the restaurant very close to closing time. The service was very friendly and they prepared our dinner. The food was very nicely presented however, a little bit pricey, especially kids plates, but what impress me was the place. actually, the building in which it is housed it reminded me of a museum and it felt like a historic place. It is an original electric plant. The surrounding area is area attractive because of the river. I recommend that you check this place out.
Stopped by 12-27-25 and had appetizers and drinks. Food was excellent- wings, chips & queso, onion rings. SJ served us and she was excellent - happy - cheerful -prompt. Would go back!

Found this cool little place by accident... Atmosphere is nice, really fun decorations and history surrounding the building and location. Comfortable and casual seating both indoors and on patio. The food was OK but nothing special. We went for lunch on a workday, so kind of quiet. Looks like stage and live music with space for dancing. I bet this place is hoppin' on the weekends!
We really wanted to try the Chicken fried chicken since it looked delicious on pictures. We parked and loved the view, were redirected to upstairs. We went upstairs only to have been too late since there was a wedding we were too late to be seated. 😔 upset since we were driving back home to Houston, so will have to come back when there's no event going on.
The food was five stars! The fried mushrooms were perfectly prepared, and the burger was outstanding. Portions are Texas-sized—you'll need a to-go box! This is a quaint, quirky pub-like restaurant. The decor was unique and paid homage to the building's original power plant history. This would be an excellent party venue under the covered back patio. There’s plenty of parking for guests and great handicapped accessibility from the parking area. Our waitress informed us there is live music on the weekends, which would add to the charm, making this a great date night destination.

This place is pretty cool, the server was great but the food just wasn’t good at all. I had a salad with grilled chicken and the chicken was horrible. It was spongy and tasted gross. My friend had the catfish plate, and she loves catfish and said it just didn’t taste right. Again our server was great and the place itself is neat looking, but just not worth it due to the good!
The atmosphere is great but the food is lesss than appealing. Very poor quality and taste. There is not anything interesting on the menu other than burgers which I did not get.

The food is ok but the setting overlooking the river is better. Upgraded to fries to go along with the burger but they didn't have much flavor so left many of them. I never leave fries.

atmosphere was cool but both the food and service were terrible. Also saw pests running around the building, very unclean.
Don't waste your time and money. Too bad as the venue could be great. But nothing was good... service bad, food terrible - had to send chicken back. It was raw!

The worst service and worst drinks we’ve ever had. Will never go back. The waiters are dormant. The food is sub par bar food. The owner is clueless and I still tipped them
