It's the besttt Asian food I had in Houston. The gravy of roti is packed with coconut flavor. Chicken satay was equally good and the soy sauce noodles hit the spot. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I see why it's been featured in many articles.
First time trying this restaurant and my husband and I are so impressed. The Singapore Laksa is rich and flavorful, the Hainanese Chicken is perfectly tender with fragrant rice, and the Roti Canai is buttery, crispy, flaky, and comes with an amazing curry dip. Banana Leaf— highly recommend!
Fantastic service and great tasty food! Dinner party of 3 and we tried a little of everything including the roti bread, salted fish fried rice, chicken skewers, penang beef curry and chicken curry. The owner gave us a free plate of crispy popcorn chicken due to their opening anniversary and it was super good. I highly recommend this place if you like Malaysian and Thai food.
✅ Quick, responsive and friendly service ✅ They have the best chicken satay I have ever tried in the US and Europe combined. It was very tender and packed with flavors. The last time I enjoyed such a delicious satay was in Singapore many years ago. ✅ Tender and delicious Beef Rendang, although it was less spicy than what I had in Southeast Asia. Just take note that this dish was served with rice (no vegetables). ❌ We found everything we ordered authentic and tasty. The only one we didn’t like as much was the Laksa. However, this could be because we’re used to Singaporean Laksa and not the Malaysian version.
Been going for a while and the service is always friendly! A good place to order family style and share with your party. Always recommend the sizzling bean curd! It's egg tofu in a crispy skin and can come with vegetables or meat toppings. This time we also ordered some salted fish and Chinese broccoli and pork spare ribs. Salted fish is real salty, as in its name, so beware. The pork spare ribs were very tasty too!
Great prices and amazing portions! First of all, the waiters were very friendly and prompt. Came on a Friday night and service was fast. The food was absolutely delicious—Biggest recommendations as for appetizers: The chicken satay is sweet and savory. Roti was flaky and absolutely delicious. Veggie samosa was so good! Definitely going to come back again to try the other dishes on the very extensive menu.
We have been coming from Austin for the past couple of years, when it's busy hour, you better walk in before the rush, or else be expected that waiting of half hour minimum. The food here are great, manager is friendly, some workers might not seem friendly, but that could be because they got stressed due to inpatient customers, so they also becoming inpatient as well. Most dishes are delicious, some might be bit too salty due to Malaysian style of cooking, but we can still manage with more rice.
✔️ Loved the Indian pancake! It’s taste like a combo of a tortilla + and crossiant ✔️ rice was lemony flavor and lovely ✔️ service was fast ❌ I noticed the waiter asked everyone else questions and gave suggestions. It was my first time and first time trying Malaysian food. So it would have been cool to hear recommendations.
November 2024 First time leaving a review after many visits over the years. We were happy to return and try their lunch special. A restaurant in this shopping centre needs to stay competitive to earn customer satisfaction and loyalty. The lunch special offers generous portion. Our samba okra and shrimp were delicious. Curry chicken was the authentic dish my whole family enjoyed. Kung Pao chicken was with the Malaysian touch with the introduction of red onion. I enjoyed the usage of red onion due to its sweet and richness. However, we found the samba beef kind of odd. Not what we expected but still ok. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch, we even bought additional chicken curry to bring home. Service was attentive and food was served quickly.
Got the satay, roti canai, baby oyster omelette, nasi lemak, stir fried flat noodle, Penang Assam laksa, and Thai fried rice. I thought everything had a lot of flavor. The satay chicken was just a little sweet and went well with the creamy peanut sauce. the nasi lemak was delicious. The roti canai was a little disappointing as the "curry" just seemed like a weak watery brown soup. It's clear that no chicken has ever touched that curry. The overall combination with the paratha was not that bad though. The omelette dish was Omelette on top of oysters on top of a bed of lettuce. Individually, the omelette was good, but the oysters weren't that great. However, once you made a wrap of lettuce, omelette, and oysters and dipped it in the sauce, the flavors were incredible. The flat noodle was also delicious. My sister wasn't that fond of the Thai rice, but I thought it was fine. The laksa was an enormous dish. I haven't had Assam laksa and while the pineapple was good, I think I prefer the traditional coconut based one! Overall lots of flavor and a great place to have a tasty family style meal!
Really loved the Malaysian pineapple fried rice! It is savory and it has a unique flavor which is refreshing. The water spinach dish is also really tasty along with the chicken curry and satay beef skewers 😋 Overall the food tasted great! The only downside I experienced was my group felt a bit rushed throughout our meal even though we arrived a bit over an hour before closing :/
Really do enjoy coming here. The food is by far the clear attraction of the visit. The flavours are nice and diverse and the size of the dishes generous. Meat quality can occasion be a little suspect, and customer service although relatively quick isn’t always the friendliness. Price are sensible. Do keep in mind, it does get busy quick.
Overall, I had a good experience. The food was decent, though nothing really stood out in a big way. The pineapple fried rice was the highlight of the meal. It was very tasty and had a nice mix of chicken and shrimp that worked really well together. I had higher hopes for the spinach, but it was just okay. It’s not something I would order again. This is the kind of place that’s worth trying at least once. I wouldn’t choose to come back on my own, but I would return if someone else wanted to go.
My visit left me with mixed impressions. While no aspect of the meal particularly stood out as exceptional, the experience was generally acceptable in terms of food quality and service. However, one issue significantly detracted from the overall visit: a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke coming from the kitchen area. This was both surprising and off-putting, and it raised concerns about the establishment’s hygiene and atmosphere. Addressing this would greatly improve the dining experience and help the restaurant present itself at a higher standard.
If I can give a 0, I will. Due to the parking difficulty, I sent my 13 year old daughter to store to pick up to-go items. I gave her cash, but came out only food. I asked her what happened to the change, she said they told me ‘that’s it!’ When she asked them for change. I cannot believe that they dismissed my daughter, lied about “she left fast before I could give her change”, and bullied the minor. Will not support such dirty local business.
