Wonderful service, best veal parmesan. Salmon topped with seafood has a great flavor. Will have to go again to try a fish fry.

Found this lovely place on New Year's Eve and we are extremely impressed! The prices are reasonable, atmosphere and food fantastic, service incredible!! We will be back!! Ethan and Denise were so nice!!

We had a party and we had food from the depot, lasagna, barbecue chicken, macaroni, salad, Salt Potatoes and Salad. We love the way it was packaged the way it was presented, and the taste was fantastic and the price was very very reasonable will do it again

The atmosphere is very nostalgic with history highlighted all over the walls. Sinatra tunes float in the background like billowing smoke from an occasional train passing outside. Friendly bartenders await to fill your spirits up with colloquial chatter, catching drinks before stepping back into your seats. Here you can catch any given sport or horse race televised at the bar. This cozy corner across from the fire station definitely gave us a dining experience to remember. They always do, whether it's a quick stop-in and take-out or a stay to enjoy. There's solid service on any given Sunday. The food ranges from affordably priced comfort food and inexpensive burgers to higher end American fare suited for an old-timey bite. The place is children friendly with seating to accommodate them. The acoustics' create perfect intimacy and space for conversations amongst a formal and casual crowd. This place is definitely worth a stop off the beaten path!

Wow. Don't be dumb, stop and eat here because it's stupid good. I am a self proclaimed garbage plate connoisseur and this is, bar none, the best trash plate ever (Thurs nights). Nick Tahoe's, Tom Wahl's, Bill Gray's, you guys stink. The three of you need to go here to learn how to make quality, gourmet plates. Even if it is not Thursday I'm going back because the prices are great. 1/2 lb burger and fries for $8 whaaaa? Fed a family of 5 out to a nice dinner for $52. Service fast and friendly. Restaurant set up in an old train depot. Cool museum like stuff on the walls.

It was a super busy evening. BUT everyone was so friendly and the food!!! I had the pan-seared scallops over pasta with extra garlic. Definitely the best I've ever had!!!!!

Can't speak for my colleagues, but my sandwich was very good, and I think the rest enjoyed theirs as well. And as railroad museum volunteers (and train nuts), we liked the decor as well.

Wow! What a beautiful GEM 💎 of a restaurant!!!! And I don't even care for Italian food! This place was absolutely wonderful 😊. Food awesome, waitress great, and overall atmosphere just tops! Came from buffalo,ny and would come back again. :) Got a burger,soups,and split a 🥗 salad. Waitress seemed very attentive to us, and other tables as well. Water was filled in our glasses when empty, bread and butter at our table and soup came out fast! Got a summer peach and 🫐 salad with chicken was absolutely delicious!!! The owners of this place should charge was more for the food!! (And that's not even a complaint! Lol) $40 for 3 people. Not bad at all. The little town(shortville was cute as well,didn't stop just drove thru) This place was a STOP 🛑 for sure! Especially if you enjoy 🚂 trains. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

First time visiting Depot 25 this evening and it certainly won't be the last. Everything about our experience here was excellent. The food was simply outstanding. The prices were very reasonable. The service was fantastic. They accept reservations and it is a good idea to plan ahead and make them. Highly recommend this gem!

This was our first time at the restaurant. The experience was the best experience we’ve ever had. The service was personal, fun and professional. I had the chicken French and it was wonderful, my husband had the chicken Marsala and he loved it. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

My friend and I went to Depot25 after a coworker recommended the "Steak & Baked" special. I was instantly intrigued with the historical pictures and knickknacks and quaint interior of the restaurant. The waitress was super sweet and kind, and very courteous. The girl at the bar was upbeat and friendly. I had the "Steak & Baked" special of a delicious steak and a baked potato with green beans. My friend had the "Sunday Sauce " special and a very nice house salad. I had a long Island iced tea, which was really good. The food was delicious, the waitress attentive, the setting quaint and homey, and it was a pleasant dining experience. Will definitely go back and definitely recommend this restaurant.

Classic fine dining menu at very reasonable prices! Great mix to choose from leaves something for everyone. Service is outstanding, everyone steps up and helps deliver meals and drinks in a timely manner. Our server had a large amount of tables and still was able to keep checking in on us. Host and busboy also helped bring drinks and food out at a impressive pace. Only thing I would say could improve experience is maybe replace or update tables and chairs.

Always excellent and extremely accommodating! David is a fantastic chef and always takes care of my crazy requests. The rest of the staff is warm and friendly. The bartender Dick makes fantastic cocktails, another thing that’s great is the complementary pretzels at the bar. This is one of my favorite places to dine!

I can’t say enough about how absolutely outstanding Depot 25 is!!! Where do I start? The service was perfect! The food was out of this world! I haven’t had such perfectly cooked escargot since I went to a restaurant in London England! My children LOVED their food!!! Our son raves about his pulled pork sandwich! Our daughter said her chicken fingers were the best she has ever had! My husband and I had the Boston steak and HOLY COW (pun intended)! Cooked to perfection and was so tender! We can’t thank y’all enough for how perfect y’all made our night! We came on a whim and it was the BEST decision we made!

Awesome food. We had a special appetizer, mussels in a white wine, cream, garlic sauce. It was great. My wife had the shrimp scampi pasta and I had the NY Strip steak. The steak was done exactly as I ordered it(I find this to be often not the case elsewhere) and both of us found the portions to be very ample(we couldn't even finish our food). The next time we're in the area, we'll make sure to visit again!

Save the wait and MAKE A RESERVATION. Great experience as first time diners at Depot 25. Fantastic food at great prices! I was able to score a full dozen wings (yes 12) for the great price of $10. The wings were large and so very tasty, they came with two cups of blue cheese. They start you off with a basket of bread and right away you think, whoa this could be costly, NOPE, the prices are very fair. The menu items range between $10 -$17 for a full entre. You will most likely be bringing some home as well. The service was great and extremely friendly during the busy time. (Like I mentioned at the beginning - MAKE A RESERVATION) The external look may be deceiving, but dont worry, once you are inside and take a few minutes to absorb the atmosphere, you will feel as if you are truly in another time. Looking forward to a return visit and bringing friends to the hidden gem. Thank you to the owners and staff that made our experience so memorable.

Depot 25 was great! We went with our family including two little ones. The service was impeccable. Nothing I would've changed or asked for differently there! The atmosphere is old school, they definitely have their regulars and it's a place I'd go back to regularly if I lived in the area. Lots of old photos on the wall, right next to the train track, a cool place. The food was good! Simple, yet effective. It was pasta night, so everyone but me got pasta. They have a ton of pasta options. I wish there were a couple more non pasta options to choose from. The kids Mac and cheese was SO good (and that's saying a lot because my dad has always made the best Mac and cheese and he said it was amazing as well). I got the knart burger and it was tasty. Their bacon was fantastic and the fries were awesome! I wish we had bigger appetites to try some of their apps, I was eyeing the calamari, but wanted to save room for dessert and SO glad I did. We shared the chocolate pb pie and the strawberry Italian cream cake (I think that's what it was called). The pie was good, but the cake was phenomenal. If you go there and they have it, do yourself a favor and get the cake! The kids meals also came with ice cream (apparently homemade by a local couple) but the kids devoured each of theirs without sharing. Their prices are so affordable too. We will be back with the family next time we visit to try more of the menu and I'll be looking forward to it.

Ate here with family when I was in town for a reunion. There were 12 of us and they put some tables together for us. We had plenty of room for everyone. The old photos on the walls were awesome, our server was amazing, and everything was delicious! It was a little loud with so many people but we were able to hear each other just fine.

From the outside of the building you might not think much of this place, but step inside and you'll love it. Staff is friendly and efficient. Atmosphere is casual, comfy, warm, and has a feeling of elegance about it. The food was delicious and hearty. I'll definitely be going back.

Yummy food with fantastic service. My family has come here has a group of 15 and then my husband and myself have just been by ourselves. Service is always constantly good. One of the most relaxing restaurants to go to in my opinion. Not a huge menu but everything is delicious and perfectly cooked. I would like to add with all our covid-19 restraints in place, that the Depo 25 still offers an excellent take out menu and the food is just as excellent to enjoy at home. We enjoyed dinner Saturday night it was wonderful.

This place is amazing! We went here for a New Years Eve late dinner, no reservations. We waited forcless than 10 minutes for a table. We had an amazing dinner and left with desserts to go. We are totally coming back here again!

Difficult to find a fine dining restaurant these days. Depot 25 is a great surprise; so happy they are still operating in Shortsville; the last time I waa in town to have fine meal there was 32 years ago. I am back in the area and letting my frienda know about this hidden gem. Service is excellent, food is wonderful, including their daily specials. The people who were with me were surprised and pleased this nice little spot was nearby. All agreed to return!

Went for takeout. Three entrees, with great portions for the prices, along with a fried calamari appetizer, which was also a very generous portion. All the food was delicious, and it was ready when I was told it would be. This is a gem of a place, located in an old passenger Depot. I highly recommend eating here.

We have been to The Depot many times and enjoy it every time. Tonight, on New Year’s Eve, we ordered takeout and when I picked up our food the restaurant was already very busy. On the way home with our meal I got a call from Connie asking for our address so she could deliver part of our meal that was left out. We live about 15 minutes away but she insisted that they wanted to make it right. I couldn’t believe it! The service is always amazing but Connie really took it to the next level tonight! To top it off, our meal was delicious, as usual.

We were referred to the Depot by a local bed and breakfast. We had the smoked brisket sandwich to split with the sausage pepper and onions rigi special. They were both awesome. Maybe the only thing better was the stuffed hot pepper wrapped in bacon. Great place for a nice dinner. Wish it was closer to home.

Had a great meal. Nice atmosphere, you can hear yourself and others talk. We had the Thursday nite special Steak and bake. The steak had great taste and not too fatty. Service was on spot. They really know how to treat you. I give it a two thumbs up. 👍👍

My boyfriend and I's favorite date spot!! Food is always hot and delicious (everything on the menus good!) and the waitresses are always super friendly and attentive. The decor is a display of various historical antiques and is a super unique atmosphere yet perfect for a romantic dinner or family gathering. It is a little snug in the restaurant if that's a concern for you, but other than that I cannot recommend this place enough!

Amazing little place. Great food, most of which is homemade. Reasonable prices. I was blown away by the house salad; it had salami, cheese, and banana peppers on it!!! For a salad that’s included with an entree, that’s pretty cool. The dressing was also great quality and delicious. Great service, very attentive. Amanda was awesome. Will be back very soon. :)

Six of us, 3 couples went for dinner. It was the 1st time for all of us. We all loved it, and everyone said they would go back for sure. The prices are amazingly reasonable.

We recently went to Depot 25 restaurant during the Christmas holiday season. Everything about our visit was great! The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Our waitress was kind, efficent and very knowledgeable about the menu. We order the Gnocchi and the Sunday sauce over rigatoni. Both meals were fantastic!! Definitely plan to go back to get those meals again or anything else on the menu! Highly recommend this local family owned restaurant!!

We were there on Thursday for Steak and Bake night. They were extremely busy as they also had a wedding dress rehearsal in the back room. Denise and Amanda did an excellent job of serving everyone in a calm and friendly way. We did not have to wait for our food and it was excellent as always. Never had a bad meal there.

Love this place! I don't eat out a ton anymore, but when I do this is where I go. The food is always great and consistent, and the staff is amazing. Best restaurant around. Highly recommend if you want a top notch meal at a decent price.

This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant! Our food was home cooked and delicious. The menu is varied and offered many tantalizing pastas. The chicken was tender, my haddock was well prepared and the service was friendly and attentive. The decor in the old rail station sports original woodwork, fascinating old locomotive photos and baseball memorabilia. You can tell by the clientele that everyone is a repeat customer. We will be too.

Not a good dining experience. I ordered pork chops ,medium rare and a baked potatoe. We waited for over an hour for our food. My pork chops were well done and when they finally arrived. I was informed that they were out of baked potatoes. However, when i ordered my meal they had them. I will not be going back anytime soon. They did comp our drinks because of the long wait for our food.

Went for my sister's birthday, 4 of us. The food was delicious but our service was very disappointing! Jackie started out good but once we has our salad she completely let us down. The final straw was she let us sit for 30 minutes for our check, I had to go ask a person clearing tablets for it.

If you enjoy nostalgic atmosphere, this is the place! Lots of pictures of the railroad era in Shortsville. Restaurant the same as I remember it inside from many years ago. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Food was delicious. Server was attentive and very informed about the food on the menu. Four of us ordered different meals, and all were cooked to perfection and very tasty. We will definitely be going back. Forgot to mention that prices were very reasonable and portions ample. Offered a few half portions, which I appreciate!

We hadn’t been here in years but 4 of us went for dinner this evening. Made reservations for 4 of us when they opened at 4pm, for 6pm, and they were pretty busy when we arrived. Got a comfy table in a corner and a friendly server, but we all missed her name as it was a little loud in there, or maybe just hard to hear for some reason. One of us got the Friday fish fry and it looked good and she reported it was delicious. Nice big hunk of fish, the smashed potatoes looked awesome, and a small cup of coleslaw. I got the Cuban sandwich with “fries” and oh boy was that good! You don’t see that in the menu too many places. And the little French fry things were very different but seasoned nicely and I ate them up quickly! Hubby and his dad both got the Seafood Fra Diavlo- dad with the spicy marinara as shown on the menu, and my husband requested his with Alfredo sauce instead. And they both RAVED! Huge plate of linguine and then I think they had like 6 clams, 10 mussels, 3 BIG scallops, some calamari tubes, 3ish shrimps and 3 teeny 🐙 ! They were very happy and full. We also ordered appetizers - fried calamari which 3 of them shared and very plentiful (nobody liked the flavor of the pickled stuff that came with it, but the calamari itself was great I guess) and also cheesy garlic bread which there were 8 nice pieces of with sauce. Plus free fresh bread and whipped butter. 👍🏻 The servers all were hustling as it was busy but we were happy with our service. And the prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food we got. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 from the 4 of us and we’ll be back!

I have been going to the depot 25 restaurant for some time now. It's such a wonderful cozy atmosphere with all kinds of old train memorabilia. (It does just so happen to be an ol train depot) My mother is from Manchester and she has told me my father an her would go down to the depot for a drink back on the early 80's. They said the bar would be 2 deep and my grandfather was always there for a couple as it was his local hang out. For me this place is filled with rich history and it's always like a trip back in time. The food is lovely, the service is great and the prices are Very reasonable.

I was very impressed with this fine establishment. It is definitely a hidden gem, located in the village of Shortsville NY a stone's throw from Canandaigua. It offers genuine, reasonably-priced Italian home cooked meals, and one of the most welcoming restaurants you could visit in the Finger Lake area. The professional service, food quality and atmosphere are exceptional --- and well worth a visit. Try the veal parmigiana, linguini and clams, or chicken and biscuits special which were all outstanding.

Excellent food and great service. Both Jackie and Diane were great. We had a party of 7 and you could tell they were short staffed. These ladies worked well together and were non stop busy! Most importantly, they did not make us feel rushed... food was spot on. Lamb Chops, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Pork Chops and Steaks were all ordered and came out to the correct temps. Have to add that the lemonade was the best.

We were headed home from a short vacation in Ohio and needed a place to eat so since my husband is a train buff I decided to try the Depot. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I both got the French onion soup which was perfect, not overly salty with a slight sweet onion finish, provolone cheese and a giant croutons. He chose the chicken parm and I chose the chicken marsala with a baked potato. I didn't try his but he said it was very good. The chicken masala was lovely with a good sauce, big mushrooms and fork tender chicken. The baked potato was also perfectly done. We were kept supplied with very good fresh bread as well though I'd hoped it would be warmed, that would have really kicked it up a notch. The Apple pie a la mode was ok with a good taste though I suspect it wasn't made on the premises. Still I very much enjoyed my meal. The place had a great comfortable ambiance about it too with subdued lighting and a roomy interior. Love the candle on the table. Side note: just down the street from the restaurant is a beautiful small park called, I think, Jones and Blunt park. Stop and sit by the river a bit. Lovely.

This is the second time I've taken my elderly neighbor to your restaurant, on Sunday for Chicken & Bisquits. He loves it. I had New England Clam Chowder, it was very good, but wasn't crazy about the green peppers in it. Never had it fixed that way, and I order that chowder anywhere I eat, if it's on the menu. We'll be back, again, when he's in the mood for that dinner.

Been here a few times and food is good to great depending on what you get. *Greens & Beans with Sausage is excellent (with pasta). *Pasta is good & big portions (on the non special menu night) but I’m not a fan of their red sauce - lacks flavor. *Panko Fish Fry - meh. Fresh and crispy but reminds me of fish sticks. Side of Cole Slaw & homemade fries were good but skimpy. We tried the Panko as folks in town said it was good but we’re more of beer battered people. They have old pictures on the walls from many years ago of the town which are kind of cool to look at and read about on a quiet night. Service is fast & friendly.

Our waitress, jackie, would dissappear and not bring us what we ordered/asked for. Went there for my birthday. Waited 45 minutes, asked another staff member about free desert. He brought the bill only. We got up to leave when staff came with desert and jackie showed up. She should not have gotten any tip but one in our party insisted. Not acceptable!

Delicious meal, great service, friendly and attentive. Food was well prepared, catered to the customer's desire (Artichoke French over Linguini), nice fresh salad.

I love the Depot. Great food, reasonable prices. I have dined there many many times. Last night was no differelt except that when I tried ask a young waitress for something she raised her indexfinger to me, I guess to stop me from asking . How rude. Tha TV happens in dive bars-not when you are eating homemade, delicious food i. Your local restaurant. I will certainly go back, but if that ever happens again at Depot 25 that will be for me.

We had a party of 10 people. Most of our group ordered the prime rib. Each person received the doneness they requested and said it was delicious. I had the filet, and it was perfectly seasoned cooked to perfection. The French fries are amazing.

It was packed as usual, I wasn’t surprised by that and that’s the reason for 5 ⭐️ for the Atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant, friendly, and nice. They were all very busy running around, but our water and bread were always full. The only reason for the 3 ⭐️ for the staff and food was that it took over an hour for our dinner to arrive. My father had to be somewhere and because it took so long we had to get it to go. I didn’t realize that we had a time limit or that it had been that long by the time dinner arrived. So I was not happy about that. On top of that I didn’t even eat it. The chicken French was too lemony and I’m the picture you can see they only gave me about 5 greens beans. The pasta didn’t taste that bad, but definitely could’ve used more flavor. The pieces of garlic was pretty tasty🤤😋 I don’t know if something had changed since the last time I was here because things were not this bad.

The fish fry tasted like a frozen filet. Had Gorton's flavor. I couldn't get home fast enough to lay on the toilet.

Had the fish fry and it was bland and tasted like frozen fish. The salad was good. I was never asked about a drink refill. my father’s steak was very tough and it was ordered rare.

The Veal Parm looked and tasted Burnt. Chicken Parm looked and tasted burnt, Sent back. Salmon looked absolutely burned up but was able to eat the center. The forth Meal, Spaghetti was not bad. Service was good and the waitress did try to make the Chicken Parm right. My biggest question how it left the kitchen as burned up as it was.

First time visit. Last time visit. Got the tortellini alfredo with broccoli added chicken. Serving enough for 2 but no flavor. Broccoli was as hard as a rock. Waste of $17. Another tried the cream cheese gonnochi, the serving was very small and same opinion, no flavor. Half wasted. Waitress was very nice but slow to return. Only 5 tables in use. Three others had the chicken and biscuit, 2 of three liked it. Chicken Parm was a hit for 2 others.

My first experience was awful. We went there to celebrate my mother's birthday. We went on the Thursday "steak and baked" night. The steaks were completely flavorless. They tasted like frozen steaks thawed and heated up. My fiance got the shrimp scampi which was butter, noodles and shrimp and ended up with food poisoning from the shrimp.

Place was dark and dirty food tasted alright but ingredients were old. my wife got food poisening from her chicken. my filet minion was decent but tasted like beef that had been in the fridge for a few days and had a green color.

Service was very poor, took at least 20 min before everyone got their drinks. Saw only one waitress working on a Sunday, bartender assisted but seemed agitated when asking her for another drink. I ordered the steak med-rare, it was dry and no pink at all. Don't think we'll be returning.

So we have been here several times and absolutely loved this place until tonight. Our waitress was very dissatisfying no personality at all. My husband ordered the grilled salmon and we received it still raw in the middle, when we complained the waitress did take it back but was very attitude about it. Wouldn’t you know they slapped the same peice my husband already ate off from on the grill they are cooking others food on? Seriously too cheap to make a new peice so when we got the salmon back it was completely dried out. I got the clam oragananto and it was extremely tasteless. I was given cheese to help it taste better. We honestly just asked for our check. Complete disappointment and sadly we will not be going back.

We've been coming here for years and I was so disappointed with our last visit. Staff was abrupt and unfriendly. Our waitress barely gave us the time of day. The bench seat we had to sit on was taped with five rows of duct tape. The food was ok, but the atmosphere, cleanliness and service was not. Apparently if you use a credit card they charge you a fee too which is more than what a carrier would charge. Not customer friendly.

First Time here saw ad Saturday Night Special Prime Rip..order med well..both orders came out rare..terrible..complained one was free other one with coffee 26.55..well hopefully my dog will enjoy it..first time trying this place and last time.. Dining room not lit well..screaming kids and noisy..waitress was nice but as for the food i feel it was very poor..

We went to Depot 25 for a birthday dinner and the table setup was very poor. They put a round and a not level square table together when they had other tables to use. The waitress only asked one side of the table for drinks and completely ignored the other half of the table. I ordered the chicken French and found a large bone in my chicken and the side of vegetable on the plate was literally 10 tiny pieces of green beans. This could have just been a fluke for us. But otherwise the atmosphere is pretty relaxed.

Just wow! Couldn’t even stomach to stay. Probably one of the dirtiest, run down, smelly, old, gross places I’ve seen. Walked in then walked right out. If you can imagine your grandma’s musty, moth ball attic complete with dead bugs, birds, dust and cobwebs, and boom! Dear locals, have standards! Cleanliness inside and out #1.
