The meatballs are divine! So soft they melt in your mouth. The Little Gem Salad was good and larger than expected. The pork chop my friend ordered was huge! The baked bread that comes with every table is very good because it's warm, soft in the center, and has a crispy crust. I think it was sour dough. This place is relatively small, so reservations are necessary on Friday and Saturday nights. The cute neighborhood is great for taking a stroll and window shopping. Full bar. Friendly service. Classy, clean, romantic setting. Dim lighting at night. Nice place for a date.
We tried the trout and filet mignon and both were delicious. Overall food and service was pleasant. Would definitely come back to check out their full menu items.
My fiancé and I enjoyed brunch at Wistaria last Saturday and were quite pleased! We were torn between the sweet and savory options but went with the sweeter options:) We shared two plates, the Challah Bread French toast and the a Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Although the pancakes were quite good, the Challah Bread was soaked perfectly in batter and cooked to perfection with a creamy center. The bacon was also delicious, as well as the blueberry compote. We will be returning soon.

Everything was quality...from the iced tea to the warm bread and softened butter. My pork chop was devine...my only criticism was the gravy was "mixed in" with the sweet potatoes, and that was not a "good flavor" match. Ask for the sweet potatoes separately! The green beans were perfect.
It's become a yearly meeting place for my friends and I to meet here at this lovely and quaint establishment. I love coming into Sierra Madre, a tiny gorgeous little place that lets me forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The restaurant itself is cozy and the service awesome. The food is delicious and tastes fresh. I have had the mushroom risotto and the chicken dish that was fabulous. The salads are also fresh, light and tasty. The desserts were wonderful. Not heavy, not powerful sweet, just perfect. I had the creme burlee on one occasion and the brownie on another. We have tried other restaurants in the area, but for me this is my go-to when in Sierra Madre.
Excellent quality meal in a simple modern space. We had the mussels which had one of the best sauces we have ever had. The mushroom risotto and short rib were also fantastic. Drinks were also delicious and they had some great twists on classic cocktails.
Excellent food drinks and service. They set up a huge patio in back of the main restaurant complete with heat lamps. It still feels like fine dining because the food is delicious and the service is excellent. My favorite is the Wisteria Burger. Always cooked to perfection. They have a great beer, wine and cocktail selection as well. Sometimes the wait for food can be long but it's worth it,; just sip on a cocktail and unwind.
A little pricey, but the food and mixed drinks are awesome. I usually have the Lamb Ragu Pasta. I tried their Manhattan and Old Fashioned this time around. Both were outstanding. And the wait staff are extremely nice and welcoming. We typically come here after we visit the L.A. Arboretum, which is also an awesome place if you've never been.
Our experience at the Wistaria bar has always been excellent. They have great bartenders who provide excellent service. The drinks are prepared correctly and presented in a timely manner. Parking is on the street or in the City parking lot just North of the restaurant. I highly recommend this bar.
We had dinner at Wistaria last night and the food was delicious (we had the beet and goat cheese salad and the trout almondine and salmon dishes). We had such a positive experience that we decided to make this our go-to restaurant whenever we are in the area. I actually decided to write this review because of the kind service--after I left. I was convinced that I had left my cell phone at the restaurant (my phone had died and my apple watch indicated that the phone was there), and the staff person who answered the phone kindly looked for it and then patiently explained that if the phone had died, my apple watch may be indicating its last known location, but not its present location. She was right, and I soon found my phone--with a completely dead battery. Nevertheless, I appreciated her taking the time to reassure me--despite how busy I know that staff can be at that restaurant. We had planned to return for the wonderful food, but now we will definitely be returning for the delicious food, charming atmosphere, and more-than-helpful service!

Delicious food. Minimalist atmosphere. Just a tad expensive for the overall vibe. Maybe a bud vase on the tables would elevate the experience a little?
Food is fabulous. Service is fabulous. The only reason it's getting four stars and not five is because they need to offer more vegetarian and vegan options! There are a ton of us out here and we want to spend money in your establishment.
Updating this review as the food has had lower quality and higher prices. I have been here dozens of times, and while it is still one of the top 5 restaurants in the area, the food quality isn't what it used to be. The ambiance/room is ok, but a bit minimal and dated (wall to wall espresso wood anyone?). They could do better to mediate the sound via design, too. I suggest dining on the outdoor patio in the back if you can. Staff are always great, attentive, and prompt.
We have dined here a couple of times when we come back to visit family. We are never disappointed. The food is quite good. Portions are on the larger size, so expect to have leftovers to bring home (or just go nuts and indulge). However, the dinning room is comparatively small and not intimate. That isn't that big of a deal, but you should be aware of it going in. I would recommend a reservation if dining later in the evening. If you arrive earlier, they can usually seat you. Parking is on the street (but that is par for the course in Sierra Madre), but be prepared to have to drive around a little to find a spot. The only negative was on our last visit. The front of house was clearly understaffed. The one waiter was doing double duty as the bar tender. So, speed of service was not on the menu. A solid choice for dining and will we will undoubtedly visit again.

Came here for brunch with high expectations, but it was like any average brunch experience. I wouldn't say there was anything spectacular about the food, but it was still delicious. We got 2 dishes for 3 people, and the portions were large enough that we all left perfectly satiated. However, even with only 2 dishes and 2 coffees, our total came out to be $40 w tip. For that price, I expected to be a little more impressed. Service was excellent, so we didn't mind leaving a nice tip despite the bill. The location was nice, especially sitting out on the sidewalk enjoying the breeze and pleasant Saturday morning. Wouldn't mind coming back again - I expect to add a star after having the lemon ricotta pancakes.

We were in the back in a large white tent. It was pretty noisy. The service was slow, 2 hours for a drink and dinner. The presentation was nice. The best thing on the menu was Mac & Cheese.
The hamburger was very good. The surface was average as was the atmosphere. Make sure you're with people to enjoy the evening because that's what makes the difference!
Limited menu. Asked to leave restaurant exactly at closing time. Automatic 20% tip added after tax for large party. Food was okay. Service was good. Atmosphere was drafty. Front door of restaurant was often left open in 50 degree weather.

This place was once great, but over the last several months it has slowly been declining, sadly. They have not changed the menu in over a year and rarely change up the specials. Tonight we called and there are no specials at all (Thursday evening). I wish they'd step it back up because the staff is great and the setting is super too. Still making great cocktails though! C'mon Wistaria!! Don't make the same mistake that the previous restaurant, Lozanos, did by stagnating and becoming boring.
I live walking distance from this restaurant and have dined here twice. The first time was just after they opened. I was underwhelmed. The food and service were fair, but I attributed this to being a new restaurant. Last Saturday, my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. We initially were planning on having a quiet night at home, but at the last minute my wife suggested we walk to Wistaria and give it another try. We called to make a reservation and our table was ready when we arrived. We didn't tell the restaurant we were celebrating a special occasion because we wanted to be low key. The place was full and it was quite some time before our server arrived. She seemed rushed and not overly friendly. After taking our drink orders, she said she would bring bread to our table if there was any left. When the server returned with our drinks we were told they were out of bread. While waiting for our meals another party was seated at a table nearby and their server brought them bread. When another server filled our water glasses, we inquired about the bread and a few moments later he returned with bread. When our server returned to our table she noticed the bread but said nothing. Our food was just okay. Not bad, but not great either. We have really wanted to like this place but for for the price, we'll choose to dine elsewhere for better tasting food and service that's aimed to please.
I asked my friends to meet me there for dinner. I was greatly disappointed. (The food delivery is kinda harsh and it lacks finesse.) I ordered the Flat iron steak. It came out cold and I sent it back, came back out as a smaller cold portion. What a disappointment. I will not take anyone there again.
